ADF Treetable Auto Height

I have a af:treetable component. I want to have an autoheight feature similar to af:table has?
Is there anyway to set the height of the tree table dynamically?

Hi,
use an EL reference to a managed bean from the inlineStyle property and have the bean returning a height string like height:400px; Then make the bean dynamically computing this string

  • How to make panel collection with auto height in a ADF page

    Hi,
    I developed a page in ADF of version JDev 11.1.1.4.0 where I had a adf table under adf panel collection. Now I want to change the height based on my screen resolution.
    For width I used the styleClass as "AFStretchWidth" but couldnt find any option for auto height for table due to this I can see vertical scroll bar on my page which I want to avoid.
    Even I tired to create a customized styleClass as shown below but its fixed height but not dynamic
    IN CSS FILE :
    .lookUpPagePannelCollection{
    width:98.5% !important;;
    margin-left:5px;
    margin-left:5px;
    height: 15.5em !important;
    I want to use % in height attribute which is not supporting by panel collection, can anyone tell the alternative way or tell me which version of JDev had this option.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Set <af:panelCollection> as a child component of <af:panelStretchLayout> and check output.
    Form Tag Documentation
    Geometry Management
    This component can be stretched by a parent layout component that stretches its children. e.g., another panelStretchLayout, panelSplitter.
    This component uses <f:facet name="top">, <f:facet name="bottom">, <f:facet name="start">, <f:facet name="end">, and <f:facet name="center"> to organize content into each stretched panel. The contents of the facet may be stretched except when the height or width of the facet is set to "auto" via the topHeight, bottomHeight, startWidth, or endWidth attributes which would then cause that facet content to use its natural browser height or width. Examples of child components that can be stretched inside of the panelStretchLayout facets include:
    <af:decorativeBox>
    <af:panelAccordion>
    <af:panelBox>
    <af:panelCollection>
    <af:panelGroupLayout layout="scroll">
    <af:panelGroupLayout layout="vertical">
    <af:panelHeader>
    <af:panelSplitter>
    <af:panelStretchLayout>

  • Adf  treeTable issue

    HI again!
    I 'm a bit confused about using an adf treeTable component (adf faces 11g).
    I've created a down-hierarchy tree with root nodes and child nodes. Now i need to bind an action listener to child nodes only. So i've defined the nodeStamp facet's component as a commandLink and assigned the appropriate action listener to it.
    The problem is that it fires now when i click a root node link as well as when i click a child node link. Is there any solution for this?
    It would be great at all if it were possible to define the root node component to be something like output text (not command component) and the child component to be a command link.
    Thanks in Advance. Alex.

    You can use a switcher component inside the tree to display different things based on the tree node type #{node.hierType.structureDefName}.
                  <af:tree value="#{bindings.LocationsView1.treeModel}" var="node"
                           selectionListener="#{bindings.LocationsView1.treeModel.makeCurrent}"
                           rowSelection="single" id="t1"
                           binding="#{backing_index.tree}">
                    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
                      <af:group id="g1">
                        <af:switcher id="s1" defaultFacet="drag"
                                     facetName="#{backing_index.allowDrag}">
                          <f:facet name="drag">
                            <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl2">
                              <af:outputText value="#{backing_index.allowDrag}" id="ot3"/>
                              <af:outputText value="#{node}" id="ot1">
                                <af:attributeDragSource attribute="value"/>
                              </af:outputText>
                            </af:panelGroupLayout>
                          </f:facet>
                          <f:facet name="nodrag">
                            <af:group id="g2">
                              <af:outputText value="#{backing_index.allowDrag}#{node.selectedRow}" id="ot4"/>
                              <af:outputText value="#{node}" id="ot2"/>
                            </af:group>
                          </f:facet>
                        </af:switcher>
                      </af:group>
                    </f:facet>

  • ADF treeTable element problem

    HI friends.
    I'm using now JDeveloper 11.1.1.2
    Can anybody help with a small trouble i faced as tried to fit an ADF treeTable element in my application.
    I've created a down-hierarchy tree which includes elements of two levels: parent elements and child elements.
    The source code of a tree model element in a respective page defenition file looks like this
    <tree IterBinding="CaptanView1Iterator" id="CaptanView1">
          <nodeDefinition DefName="minit.org.model.views.voc.CaptanView"
                          Name="CaptanView10"
                          TargetIterator="#{bindings.CaptanView1Iterator}">
            <AttrNames>
              <Item Value="fio"/>
            </AttrNames>
            <Accessors>
              <Item Value="CaptanHistoryView"/>
            </Accessors>
          </nodeDefinition>
          <nodeDefinition DefName="minit.org.model.views.voc.CaptanHistoryView"
                          Name="CaptanView11" TargetIterator="#{bindings.CaptanHistoryView1Iterator}">
            <AttrNames>
              <Item Value="violationdate"/>
              <Item Value="articles"/>
            </AttrNames>
          </nodeDefinition>
        </tree>i've also assosiated a navigation case action with a command link which in fact repesents the node of the tree.
    The problem is that for some nodes i have to click the mouse button twice to have the action handler trigger.
    A first click leads to what it seems like a simple repost and the second click works properly. By the way i occasionally get the following message as i click my tree-node links.
    <ActionListenerTag$BindingActionListener><processAction> JSF1043: ActionListener for component 'tt1:5:ot2' will not be processed - both binding and type are null.It's weird that the underlined message and wrong behavior take place not in a regular way, for some tree nodes only.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Alex.

    Hi,
    the reason for not getting an answer is that you describe a problem that exists on the view layer and show th etree definition on the ADF binding layer.

  • Export to Excel: Row Auto Height Removed on Data Connection Refresh

    Hi all,
    When I perform a Data Connection Refresh on an Excel workbook exported from SharePoint it removes the row auto height I had in place, hiding valuable information. This is an additional column I added to perform some calculations.
    Any ideas?
    K.
    Personal Blog: http://thebitsthatbyte.com

    Hi Kelly,
    As I understand, you have a SharePoint list and click export to Excel under List tab. Then the list is exported to Excel spreadsheet.
    Generally speaking, all field column width and height keep in the same size when the list is exported to Excel. In Excel, under PAGE LAYOUT tab > Scale to Fit, make Width and Height to be Automatic and Scale to 100%.
    Then the cell should be good. If there is some column still exceed the width of Excel cell, please right click the cell > Format cells > Alignment > Text control, click Wrap text to increase the cell size to fit the text, or click Shrink to fit
    to shrink the text.

  • ADF Treetable scrolling position resets to top on refresh

    I have a master details page with the following components.
    TreeTable with a Check Box on LHS  and TabbedPannel on RHS.
    So, users can select any row on the LHS and the corresponding details will be displayed on RHS in a new Tab. When user closes the Tab it will clear the Check Box on TreeTable.
    Issue is, when user is at last row of TreeTable when there are more rows (Scroll bar will be at last), and user closes the Tab on RHS side, I will be clearing the checkbox binding and refresh the treetable using PPR to reflect the same.
    This is causing the treetable  scroll bar to be reset to the top. And User lost the old position on needs to scroll down again.
    Can we control the Scroll bar position after PPR refresh (or)
    Can we just clear off the CheckBox selection (only one row) with out refeshing the whole treetable
    Environment:
    JDev Version : 11.1.1.6.2
    Component : ADF TreeTable with TreeModel binding (Not using BC)

    In my case, I am fine with disclosureState items. They do not collapse even after I remove the checkbox selection and refreshing the TreeTable component.
    Only issue is scrollbar is resetting to top.
    I can't use the disclosure event as they can do expandAll , select first compoenent scroll down and close the selection on RHS tab.
    Which will reset the LHS scrolling position to top.

  • Can't Auto Height Container

    How do I get the container to auto height for the larger DIVs inside it?
    www.seastrata.com/index-new.htm

    Divs are auto height by default as the amount of content you put inside them determines container height.  More content = more height.  Less content = less height.
    If you're floating elements inside your container, a phenomenon known as margin-collapse can occur. To overcome this, add overflow:hidden to your parent container.

  • Image width=auto height=auto problems in Internet Explorer

    I thought I was having an issue with my MM_swapimage in Internet explorer but it appears to be my images scale.
    I have my main large image that has a width=auto height=auto which does not appear in Internet Explorer only
    the smaller "thumb" images of varying size have a height=40px width=auto so that the different sizes of thumb images look horizontaly uniform. how do I get the images to work without setting the exact scale for each image?

    once I removed the "auto" setting everything worked just fine, the images came in at the proper pixel size, and the thumb nail images where proportional in size seeing how I had a height set of 40 px the width took care of itself.
    Any Ideas on where I can find a good tutorial on client login and password to access pages with their content?

  • Row="20" seems to be the maximum for Textarea (auto-height)

    I have a textarea item with text that extends beyond 20 lines. I want the textarea to display all rows. Textarea (auto-height) works fine until the content requires more than 20 rows.
    Is this a limit of Textarea (auto-height)? Any ideas on how to display more than 20 rows.

    Hi
    In the end, I found out that that code only worked if the page had only one textarea (not my case :-/ ). So I decided to write myself a simpler (though not so bright) solution:
    Resizes vertically a textarea based on the size of the text it contains.
    NB: Works best with monospaced fonts
    function textarea_autoheight(textarea) {
      var c = 0;
      var r = 2;  // (*) IE does not seem to work well with
                  // textarea.rows so we need one more empty line at the end
      var t = textarea.value;
      for(var i=0; i<t.length; i++) {
        if (t.substr(i,1) == '\n') {
           c = 0;
          r++;
        else {
          c++;
          if(c >= textarea.cols) { c=0; r++;}
      textarea.rows = r;
    Resizes and binds a textarea (or all textareas in the page if the parameter is null)
    to the autoheight function above, so they get automatically resized as user enters text
    function textarea_activate_autoheight(textarea) {
      if(textarea != null) {
        g_textarea_autoheight(textarea);
        textarea.onkeyup = function() {g_textarea_autoheight(textarea);};
      else {
        var ta_list = document.getElementsByTagName('textarea');
        for(var i=0; i < ta_list.length; i++) g_textarea_activate_autoheight(ta_list);
    To use it, just add onload="textarea_activate_autoheight();" to activate it for all the textareas in the page. It seems to work well...

  • Making Auto Height Divs, Maintaining Same Width

    Hey on my website I have multiple pages with different heights and I am interested in making two banners, one left and right.
    The Working Code I used is below:
    <div id="left" style="background: url(img/Left.jpg);height: 1500px;width: 150px;float: left;">
    </div>
    <div id="right" style="background: url(img/Right.jpg);height: 1500px;width: 150px;float: right;">
    </div>
    This works correctly but with one problem I have to specify the exact height every single time. If I use auto height this only goes for approx. 100px.
    I would like the banners to go non-stop until they reach the footer.
    Thanks for the help.

    Still not working here is what I did.
    Pasted the following code in my .css document
    #left {
    clear:both;
    background: url(img/Left.jpeg);
    min-height: 610px;
    width: 150px;
    float: left;
    #right {
    clear:both;
    background: url(img/Right.jpeg);
    min-height: 610px;
    width: 150px;
    float: right;
    Pasted the following code in my html document under 'boxcontent'
    <div id="left"></div>
    <div id="right"></div>
    Placed the following .css code in my section called boxcontent
    clear:both;
    Nothing happens at all.

    Hi,
    Assuming that you will place prompt in a cell then try to use following options in Prperties-> display->
    1. autofit width
    2. autofit height

    how do i fix it though? can make corrections in the code and send me the code?
    It's not fixable. If you do not know how to use static <divs> then you might want to consider using a table stucture for the construction. Whilst not the ideal way to go tables do work in conjunction with one another.
    You can only really use abosolutely positioned <divs> for  a simple website which has say a header and 2/3/4 columns and no footer. As soon as you try to include a footer the absolutely positioned column <divs> can't recognise it's there so any content in them does not push the footer down.

  • Adf TreeTable,  collapsed and expand property.

    Hi,
    I want to set some instructional text on UI based on whether af:treetable row is expanded or collapsed. Is there any property that I can use on UI that give this information?
    I am using adf, Oracle JDeveloper 11g.
    Thanks
    -Rishabh

    Hi Frank,
    In Treetable I have two columns and one column in nodeStamp. For example, node column show name of "application", second column show names of scholarships and the third column has commandbutton to apply for that application. Each row in application can be expanded to see list of scholarships attached to that application. Here is the code for this....
    <af:treeTable value="#{bindings.SaAppListVO1.treeModel}"
    var="node"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.SaAppListVO1.treeModel.makeCurrent}"
    id="treeTable" expandAllEnabled="true" rowBandingInterval="0"
    width="94%" columnStretching="column:application"
    columnBandingInterval="0"
    disableColumnReordering="true"
    summary="List scholarships attached to application"
    rendered="#{ bindings.SaAppListVO1.estimatedRowCount > 0}">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:column headerText="Application"
    id="application">
    <af:outputText value="#{node.AppName}"
    rendered="#{node.AppId1 ne null}"
    inlineStyle="font-size:12px; font-weight:bold;"/>
    </af:column>
    </f:facet>
    <f:facet name="pathStamp"/>
    <af:column headerText="Scholarships" width="300" noWrap="false">
    <af:panelGroupLayout layout="horizontal">
    <af:goLink styleClass="csaLink" text="#{node.ScholarshipsName}">
    <af:showPopupBehavior triggerType="click"
    popupId="::notewindow"/>
    </af:goLink>
    <af:image shortDesc="Need-Based"
    source="/images/gold.png"
    rendered="#{node.IsNeedBased == 'y'}"
    inlineStyle="text-align:left;"/>
    </af:panelGroupLayout>
    </af:column>
    <af:column align="center">
    <af:commandButton text="Apply!"
    rendered="#{node.AppId1 != null}"
    action="apply_new">
    <af:setPropertyListener from="#{node.AppId1}"
    to="#{pageFlowScope.appId}"
    type="action"/>
    </af:commandButton>
    </af:column>
    </af:treeTable>
    My question here is, where node row is in collapsed mode there is nothing in "scholarship" column. And when it is expanded it list all the scholarship. What I want is to add a text message in that column showing how many scholarships are there for that application in collapsed mode.
    Is there any way for doing this?
    Thanks,
    -Rishabh
