Admin Console - identifier / ISBN search

Hi there
Currently the admin console searches by Title, ID, Author, Publisher, Format and Language
- where ID / resourceid is of type UUID which cannot be set to a unique identifier such as ISBN.
Can the ACS configuration be altered to also allow search by the identifier field through the admin console?
Is <dc:identifier> the only place I should store the unique book ISBN for a resource when packaging?
To be able to manage 1000's of titles through admin console, UUID requires a lookup table to match ISBN's and only then search.
Partial title or other field matches are not optimal either as multiple results may be returned.
Im surprised this has not been addressed, but how hard would it be to enable searching by identifier / ISBN within the admin console?
Thanks
Anthony

Hi Mike
I have not worked in python much, but i'll definitely give it a look and learn something new.
Even if just to push the json data back into php using the json_decode() function, this is very interesting.
Thank you for providing info on how you implemented a solution to this!

  • Search users in OIM from Admin Console

    Hi,
    I am trying to search for users logging into admin console as a end user. But my search didnot result any users though there are many users in OIM. I have given all the permissions available to the group in which this user is present and Manage User menu item to that group.
    Can anyone one please let me know, if the end-user will ever be able to search for other users in OIM ?
    PS: If I add the end user group as sub-group to sysadm group, then everythin works fine, But this is not the solution for me!!
    Thanks in Advance

    Permissions to view users are done at the organization level. If you want a specific group of users to be able to search for other users, create a group. then go to manage organizations and select administrative groups from the drop down. Add that group with at least read permissions. Usually if i know requests and such will need to be submitted for other users, i give all users read access to the main organization.

  • Is there a way to disable concurrent Weblogic Admin Console sessions for the same user?

    A coworker on another workstation and I are able to log into same user account on the Weblogic Admin Console at the same time. I would like to restrict access so only one session per user account can be logged in to the Admin Console. Is this possible?
    Alternatively, is there a way to log identifiable information (IP/workstation) when multiple sessions for one account occur at the same time?
    I am using 10.3.6.0

    Hi,
    You could also check the http access logs for such info. There you could see records for the received requests, with each record starting with the source IP that initiated the request.
    The default location for access logs is ${DOMAIN_HOME}/servers/${SERVER_NAME}/logs. Of course in your case, the ${SERVER_NAME} would be your admin server name (AdminServer if left as default).

    After making manual changes in obj.conf, have you tried clicking the 'Apply' link in admin console and then choosing 'Load configuration Changes' option?

  • Painfully slow access to admin console (how can I fix it?)

    Hi,
    I'm using using Sun Java System Web Server Version 7.0U4 B12/02/2008 02:17 running on CentOS (Redhat EL) release 4.4.
    The problem is that using the Admin Console (on port 8989) is painfully slow. It takes minutes for each page to load, but they do usually load.
    Any ideas on how to fix that?
    There are some other things going on that might be related and helpful to know:
    I get certificate errors when I access the Admin Console (e..g, IE complains about a mismatched address). I've tried following the directions to install the certificate in IE7 and FF3, but neither has stopped bothering me about the certificate error.
    I have the server behind a firewall which allows all outgoing traffic and select incoming ports to the server. The firewall also maps a public IP address to the server's local IP address (e..g, 10.10.10.8).
    If I access the Admin Console locally via the LAN address (https://10.10.10.8:8989) it is no longer slow, but I get booted back to the login screen very frequently (e.g, every minute or two of casual browsing through the console), and I still get the certificate error
    We haven't given the server a name, but access it by IP address, and the virtual server configuration in the Admin Console is name "localhost.localdomain"
    Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! I've tried searching for solutions several times, but haven't succeeded.
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Thanks for the thoughts

    sounds more like some network issues. are you running your browser on your centos 4.4 as well ? also, did you try to connect using your IP - some thing like https://<ip>:8989 ?
    No, we're not running the browser on centos 4.4. We're runing browsers on laptops, connecting both offsite via public IP address and in the office via both the public IP address and the LAN ip address.
    Yes, we're using the ip address as you demonstrated. This machine does not have a domain name attached, so we only connect via ip addresses (mapped public or LAN)

I've tried following the directions to install the certificate in IE7 and FF3, but neither has stopped bothering me about the certificate error.it is not a certificate error. web server 7 admin server uses a self signed certificate . this is necessary step. however, IE reports a warning when it sees a self signed certificate. it wants you to know that it does not understand who sent this certificate. you need to create an exception - saying that you know what you are doing then there won't be any certificate error ..Okay, I'll look for how to do that, but so far I've only found instructions for how to install the certificate in the browsers, and unfortunately, that hasn't made a difference.

    sounds like some network misconfiguration - outside the scope of this forum.I cannot rule that out, but other servers/websites seem to work fine with this same setup. Although, only this server is using https

    if you want to increase this time out, you could do so by manually editing <install-root>/lib/webapps/admingui/WEB-INF/web.xml and change the value for session-timeout to say 600 (for 10 minutes).. . pl . note that this is not a supported way and you could potentially leave others to use your session if you are careless. but, if you know what you are doing .Thanks I did that. It surprises me that the default timeout appears to be 1 minute.

  • Content Selector Results After Re-ordering the Content in Admin Console

    Hi All,
    I am working on weblogic portal 10.2 and MySQL 5.0
    I have created 3 sample contents in portal admin console.
    And I have re-ordered the contents as mentioned in documentation below.
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs102/cm/contentTypesCm.html#wp1096803
    Once they are re-ordered , I can able to see the changed order in the table "cm_node"
    But if I am trying to access those contents using content selectors, with the created type, those contents are not coming in changed order.
    results of content selector is order of creation ,
    pls suggest how to get the results of content selectors as per latest re-ordered content

  • SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 Client updates but not showing in Admin Console

    I have updated my 5.00.7958.1000 client to Cumulative Update 1 (KB2938441).  If I look on the client the version now says 5.00.7958.1203.  My admin console when I click on the client still says 5.00.7958.1000. I tried update membership. It has
    been a couple days since the update on the one. Another was early this morning.  I have updated using the Patch and software package deployment.  I have used the push installation to upgrade.  In all cases, upgrade works, but in the console
    the client versions are not changing and keeps saying version is the same.
    Why wouldn't it update by now?  This is crazy the time it is taking to show a new version has been installed/upgraded.
    What process needs to happen?  Are there specific logs for this data coming back to the console I can check?

    We are a school district so the majority of our clients are intranet.  Our WAN is connected with Gigabit connections.  Single sccm primary site at center of the hub-n-spoke network topology.  Server running Windows server 2012 w/ 4cpu and
    16 GB RAM.  Server running in VMware so we can easily increase spec if needed, so more interested in what the "common" configuration may be so I can test it with those settings first and adjust accordingly.
    We have 3,500 clients, only 800 of which may go home the other stay on network at all times.  A large number of those 3,500 are laptops that are in carts so they are not left on all the time so the different processes need to be somewhat frequent.
    Additionally, it will be almost never that all those machines are on at the same time.  Many could be sitting shutdown in the carts.
    Please offer your opinion as to what good settings might be.  I know they may not be perfect, but I can test them out.
    Also checking the Client Settings under Administration workspace, I don't see all the same type of actions I do under the Client computer -> control panel -> configuration manager -> Actions tab.  Are these configured elsewhere
    or do they all fall under the "hardware inventory" and "software inventory" sections of the Administration -> Client Settings?

  • WLS 10.0 cannot get Admin Console to start

    Hi,
    We have WLS 10.0 with Jrocket on a Windows Server.
    We have two domains and they have been working fine for well over a year until this morning. I cannot bring up the Admin Console for the 2 domains. The domains are setup to start up automatically and they get stopped and started every Saturday. This week the restart seems to have failed, The services were showing as started but we could not login into the WLS Admin Console or the web applications that the domains host.
    As far as i know nothing should have changed with the server.
    Event viewer is not showing any issues.
    I tried to start the WLS for the 'da' domain from the cmd line and am now seeing the following in the AdminServer.log (FYI, the domain log is not being created). I have had to remove some lines to make the post :

    There is enough memory, and the CPU usaage does not get too high.
    I have searched the forums and cant find what could be causing the blocking.
    The startup hangs at the following line :
    <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000365> <Server state changed to STARTING>
    doing a Ctrl-C to stop the startup then produces the dump entries in the adminserver.log file :
    There is no error or warning in the adminserver.log file.
    What should I be checking to find out what is going on ? is this a known issue ?
    Thanks.

    Hi
    1. Looking carefully at the following 3 lines in server statup logs, after 2:20:39 PM GST, server waited like for 16 mts like 2:36:43 and invoked the Force Shutdown. Possible reasons I gave below.
    ####<Feb 14, 2010 2:20:37 PM GST> <Info> <netuix> <ePIMSEDMS2> <AdminServer> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '3' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <1266142837729> <BEA-423101> <[console] Initializing the NetUIx container>

    ####<Feb 14, 2010 2:36:43 PM GST> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <ePIMSEDMS2> <AdminServer> <Thread-1> <<WLS Kernel>> <1266143803604> <BEA-000388> <JVM called WLS shutdown hook. The server will force shutdown now>
    2. Since you mentioned this worked fine and nothing else is changed over a year, the possible cause may be like this. Looks like you have some Documentum stuff (or webapp or modules) loaded on this server. I am not much familiar with EMC Documentum stuff, except that we use that as external Content Management repository for Portal Applications. Looking at the full thread dump for thread 0, looks like documentum code is trying to publish something or interact with its documentum server and may be it is not getting the response back. So make sure if any external systems that this WLS interacts are all up and running.

  • Custom Single Container not showing up in the Admin console

    I developed a custom single container and deployed the java files and xml's successfully.
    But the container doesnt show up in the admin console as a container channel.
    I am not able to add and delete new channels into this container .Can anyone throw light on this issue..

    I'm seeing the same thing as Simon, I changed the iOS device name in both places on an iOS device and the name in the Intune console is still "iPhone" which is really unhelpful as I'm sure you can imagine.  Is there some other place
    that we should be going to rename devices so they are more easily identifiable in the Intune console?
    Thanks!

  • How to download a file uploaded in the portal admin console

    Hi All ,
    I have created a content using admin console.
    It has a property called , "file", and it is of type "Binary".and its primary property
    I need to have link in JSP , to download that file/content.
    I am using <templates tag , but not able to download.
    Could you pls suggest how to download a file uploaded to admin console
    Thanks & Regards,
    Srinivas

    Srinivas,
    Check the WLP API http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs102/javadoc/index.html?overview-summary.html
    Search for com.bea.content.manager.servlets.ShowBinaryServlet class and com.bea.content.manager.servlets.DownloadBinaryServlet class. You can use one of these depending on your requirment. I think there is not jsp tag for these classes so you have to use scriptlets.

  • Admin Console errors in fresh install on Windows 2003 Enterprise.

    I have attempted to install 6.1 SP4 on two different Windows 2003 Enterprise boxes. Neither has W2K3 SP1 on them. The installs proceed using a typical install with no errors reported. All defaults were accepted during the install. I can start the server for the Admin and web server instances. I can hit the default page on the web server instance. When I attempt to launch the admin console, I am prompted to logon, as expected. I enter my credentials and promptly get an HTTP 500 error. I check the logs in C:\Sun\WebServer6.1\https-admserv\logs\errors and find the following line:
    [26/Apr/2005:12:43:26] failure ( 2596): for host 192.168.175.128 trying to GET /https-admserv/bin/index, cgi_scan_headers reports: HTTP4044: the CGI program C:\Sun\WebServer6.1\bin\https\admin\bin\index.exe did not produce a valid header (program terminated without a valid CGI header. Check for core dump or other abnormal termination)
    I searched for others reporting similar problems and the closest I could come to an answer was to make sure cookies were enabled on the brower (they are). I get the same error in IE and Firefox, both locally and remotely. After becoming frustrated with one W2K3 server, I decided to try on another. Exactly the same errors.
    Increased loglevels in the server.xml provide no additional logging for this problem. Any pointers to a resolution would be most appreciated as I'm about ready to scrap Sun and move to Apache.
    Thanks,
    Sean

    Yes, there appear to be problems where certain old versions of Netscape and iPlanet products can leave old DLLs lingering in the Windows system32 directory.
    I'd check for the following files in the Windows system32 directory (typically C:\WINNT\system32 or C\WINDOWS\system32):
    libnspr4.dll
    libplc4.dll
    libplds4.dll
    nss3.dll
    nssckbi.dll
    smime3.dll
    ssl3.dll
    nsldap32v50.dll
    nsldappr32v50.dll
    nsldapssl32v50.dll
    If you find any of these files, you can try replacing them with a copy from your Web Server install. Don't forget to backup first.
    Please report back what you find!

  • Portal Admin console capabilities

    Hi,
    Why is that through portal admin console i cannot add new content search conditions (for example for a content selector) but only update the existing conditions?
    Isnt this a serious drawback if conditions need to be added directly in production, instead of going back to weblogic workshop and getting into the whole dev,qa, release cycle?
    Also, if i use the advance option in weblogic workshop to write a query using the expression language i cant edit that in admin console!!
    any insights ?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Does any one in BEA have an answer to this. I was stumped when asked by a client. Any response will be great.

  • OIM Admin console, ordering of a LOV

    Hi,
    I've added a new List of Values data item to the User attributes screen in the OIM admin console. This displays & works OK, but the ordering of the values within the drop down isn't as required.
    It was created with LOV type of 'Admin Configured'.
    It's not in alphanumerical order of the codes or the display values.
    It seemed initially that the ordering was as per the lkv_key in the LKV table. i.e. it was displaying the values in the order in which they had been created in the LKV table.
    However, I've since deleted and removed the values using the Design Console so that the lkv_key is in the order that I want & that hasn't fixed things.
    We have flushed the cache to ensure that it isn't using stale data but to no effect.
    We have also tried using the LOV type of 'By Query' but this results in the wrong type of widget being shown on screen. It gives you a search & select pop-up thing rather than the simple drop down field that we want.
    The default interface has a couple of drop downs with ordered values (Profile tab, Attributes, Preferences for Time Zone & Locale), but I can't figure out how these work.
    Can anyone advise on how we get an ordered drop down field?
    (We're using 11.1.1.6).
    Thanks.

    Hi Sagar,
    Thanks for your help.
    This sounded promising - but didn't work :(
    I did the export & it came out in the order it was being displayed (3,2,1,4).
    I amended the file as required (1,2,3,4) & imported.
    Still displays in the admin console as 3,2,1,4.
    Flushed the cache.
    Still displays in the admin console as 3,2,1,4!
    (Incidentally I exported again & this time it came out as 1,3,2,4).
    There must be something else in the console display that's enforcing the 3,2,1,4 order.

  • Unable to access Admin Console

    Hi,
    I have installed Oracle Database11g and WebLogic 10.3.0 Application Server successfully in LINUX-64 bit environment. At the end of OIM server 9.1.0.1 it displays "The Oracle Identity Manager Application Server setup has some problem. Refer OIM_HOME/Xellerate/logs/setup_weblogic.log for information about the problem" in the console. So, when i able to access Admin console. It throws Error:404.
    Also setup_weblogic.log has the following error details
    BUILD FAILED
    /oracle/oimserver/xellerate/setup/setup.xml:443: The following error occurred while executing this line:
    /oracle/oimserver/xellerate/setup/weblogic-setup.xml:196: Could not create task or type of type: wlst.
    Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
    Also nexaweb.war and xlWebApp.war is missing in Weblogic console page-> Deployment tab.
    I have reinstalled the weblogic and OIM again but still getting the same problem..
    Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Kathy
    did you setup ORACLE_HOME to weblogic_home, JAVA_HOME and added java to PATH. Also do you have any other ANT installed on your server.
    Have you checked the OIM certification matrix for the version of various components like OIM, Weblogic and Database.
    If you are sure that you did all this correctly, then perform the following:
    The nexaweb classloader error is seen at times prior to performing the post installation steps. Then make a backup of the weblogic domain directory and the <OIM_HOME> directory.
    1. Please continue and perform the postinstallation steps.
    2. Restart the server
    3. In the weblogic console, shcek to see that the xellerate and nexaweb applications have an "ok" status.
    4. If not:
    a. Please upload the oim server log.
    b. Using the WebLogic console undeploy all oim applications including, xellerate, nexaweb and, if there, XIMDD, and SPML.
    c. Delete the directory <OIM_HOME>/xellerate/webapp/precompiled
    d. Delete the xellerate.ear and Nexaweb.ear from the directory <OIM_HOME>/xellerate/OIMApplications (Note: do this on all nodes of the cluster)
    e. Delete the ant_backup.jar, optional_backup.jar and xercesImpl_backup.jar files from the OIM_HOME/xellerate/ant/lib directory.
    f. Delete the xellerate and Nexaweb directories from the BEA_HOME/user_projects/domains/DOMAIN_NAME/servers/AdminServer/tmp/_WL_user directory.
    g. Delete the xellerate and Nexaweb directories from the BEA_HOME/user_projects/domains/DOMAIN_NAME/servers/MANAGED_SERVER_NAME/tmp/_WL_user directory.
    Delete the xellerate and Nexaweb directories from the BEA_HOME/user_projects/domains/DOMAIN_NAME/servers/MANAGED_SERVER_NAME/stage directory.
    h. In the OIM_HOME/xellerate/setup/weblogic-setup.xml file:
    i. Search for the following element:
    <wldeploy action="deploy"
    source="${WL_APP_LOCATION}/OIMApplications/WL${application.filename}"
    name="Xellerate"
    user="${weblogic_login_user}"
    password="${weblogic_login_password}"
    verbose="true"
    adminurl="t3://${weblogic_server_target_url}:${weblogic_server_admin_port}"
    debug="${action.deploy.debug}"
    targets="${wl.deploy.target}" />
    ii. Add a timeout value of 5400 as shown:
    <wldeploy action="deploy"
    source="${WL_APP_LOCATION}/OIMApplications/WL${application.filename}"
    name="Xellerate"
    user="${weblogic_login_user}"
    password="${weblogic_login_password}"
    verbose="true"
    adminurl="t3://${weblogic_server_target_url}:${weblogic_server_admin_port}"
    debug="${action.deploy.debug}"
    targets="${wl.deploy.target}"
    timeout="5400" />
    i. Restart the WebLogic server and managed servers.
    j.Open a terminal session and export the the JAVA_HOME and PATH environment variables.
    k. In the same terminal session, change to the directory <OIM_HOME>/xellerate/setup
    l. Run "patch_weblogic.sh"
    This should reinstall that xellerate applications on WebLogic.
    Hope this helps.
