Admin disabled ?
Iam in 11.1.2.1..iam unable to login to EAS and i get error
ERROR - 1051408 - User [admin] is disabled to do any activities due to failure to be migrated to the Shared Services Security mode... Can any one tell me how come admin is disabled?
It is worth checking the essbase related logs, there will be logs for the externalization and shared services to have a look at.
The logs are at <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\user_proiects\<instancename>\diagnostics\logs\essbase
EssBasestartupforExternalization.log
SharedServices_Security_Client.log
essbase.log
Also in the logs\config directory there is EssBaseExernalizationTask.log
It may be that you have to revert the essbase.sec and try again but it is more than likely going to fail if it failed the first time, so the reason has to be investigated.
Cheers

Warning: WRT310N External and wireless Admin Disabled
Warning: WRT310N External and wireless Admin Disabled I found that if I browse to my router web IP address that even with external admin disabled the router still generates a pop up for admin log in which allows brut force attaches on your router.
Hopefully linksys is going to fix this soon? I did notify the support people and they verified that when they browed to my IP it would come up with the pop up and if they had login info they can take control of the router...
Just make sure you use STRONG Passwords, really, really strong! until they fix the problem

Windows defined as 32 bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a 4 bit microprocessor, written by a 2 bit company that can't stand 1 bit of competition. by R.Ries
Ban Internet Explorer from your website and force upgrades to real browsers, FF, Opera or otherIf you are using "admin" as your router's password, change it to something else. Also, change your ssid from "Linksys" to something else.
Use wpa2 as it is more secure than wep.
Wep uses a static key while wpa & wpa2 uses a dinamic key and a shared key or password.

Need to admin disable 802.11a radio from a few light weight access points
Hi team,
I need help to admin disable the 802.11a radio interface from a few lightweight APs. The operational status of these radio interfaces is down, so I am getting the following error when I try to disable them from the wireless LAN controller.
(Cisco Controller) config>802.11a disable wds2.hyd.shaw.net
This slot is not operational because Regulatory Domain Check has failed! Unable to disable the Cisco AP.
Could you please let me know how I can administratively disable the 802.11a radios on these APs? Please let me know if you need more details here.
Regards,
SwatiThe two previous posts are correct: the regulatory domain is probably not allowing radio a to be enabled.
To be sure about this you can go to GUI of the wireless LAN controller > Wireless > Country. Here your country (or region) should be selected. Then depending on the access points that you have they may or may not join or turn on the radio. Per example if you have an access point from Europe (like AIR-AP1131AG-E-K9) then you will have a conflict if only the “America” regulatory domain (-A) is selected.
Here is a link with a list of products and their regulatory domain that might help:
http://tools.cisco.com/squish/648C8
What you can do here is to simply allow the regulatory domain that the access point needs and you should not have any problems.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you change the regulatory domain and use an access point that transmit at certain channels and frequencies that are not allowed (illegal) in your country (region) you may have legal implications.
I hope this information helps you with your concern. -
Oracle Apps Sys Admin -- Disabling a button on a form
Hi Guys,
I want to disable a button on a form in oracle applications. Normally, i disable a button by goin to that MENU, SUBMENU(if there are any) and take the button's sub-function and add it in FUNCTION and MENU Exclusions in the reponsibility define form.
But in some forms in Oracle Inventory, i have a NEW button and am not able to find a sub-function for that. NEW and OPEN , two buttons are there . How can i disable or make that button vanish from that form. I know that it can be done thru CUSTOM.pll but without custom.pll , is there a way using this sub-functions or watever.
help appreciated.
ThanksYes I know about form personalization, however I still couldn't hide 2 buttons. Open vision database, under purchasing superuser > requisition summary, if you click the Find button it will open Requisition Header Summary window. In that window there are New and Open button. Now, I couldn't hide those 2 buttons cause I couldn't found the name in Item. What's the name of those 2 buttons? Thanks.

Server Admin [disabled/asleep] afp connections
1 OD Master, 10 Replicas
On all the servers (except 1 replica which is connected via a T1 line) I get many AFP connections that have a status of Disabled/Asleep
When I Disconnect these, the server behaves better.
My question: Why is this happening? How can I have the server disconnect these on its own?Seems that I need to wait for OS X Server 10.5

Litetouch not disabling admin after reboot
Hi there,
I had an image working perfectly, I changed a few things in the answer file, the configuration settings.ini and the task sequence all at the same time, I've reverted everything back to how it was initially but it's still refusing remove the built-in admin
account.
I'm not really after a work around, I would like some advice on what could cause this.
Lite touch requires the local admin account to run the scripts at the beginning - normally it would do this, reboot, then the admin account would be removed and I would login with the local admin account for the IT department which is created in the Unattend.xml
It used to come up "Microsft windows must now be restarted" - Now it doesn't. What the heck is going on with this font size?!?!?!?!Does anyone
have any idea would could have caused this to suddenly cease functioning as expected!?
I'd like to add, previously it was refusing to join the domain. Now however - that is working perfectly, and admin disable has stopped >.<Hi
I apologize if I misunderstand and some required information are needed for us to help you.
First changing “Users should enter a username and password to use this computer” require administrator permissions so you need another administrator account to do that if you already disable the default one.
Second, you mentioned that your machine will join to domain eventually, so the problem and "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer." changing you made would be not available on a domain-joined system because the domain require
user logon must enter a user name and password.

AP1242 sometimes in admin mode "disable"
We have (L)AP1242 working in FlexConnect mode.
These APs are connected to a WLC but sometimes devices change to state "admin disable". I really don't mean the radio interface.
The access points get power over a power supply.
any idea?
thanks
MartinIf your access point is connected to in-line power, do not connect the power module to the access point. Using two power sources on the access point might cause the access point to shut down to protect internal components and might cause the switch to shut down the port to which the access point is connected. If your access point shuts down, you must remove all power and reconnect only a single power source.
On power up, the access point is placed into low power mode (both radios are disabled), Cisco IOS software loads and runs, and power negotiation determines if sufficient power is available. If there is sufficient power then the radios are turned on; otherwise, the access point remains in low power mode with the radios disabled to prevent a possible over-current condition. In low power mode, the access point activates the Status LED low power error indication, displays a low power message on the browser and serial interfaces, and creates an event log entry (see the "Checking the Autonomous Access Point LEDs" section and "Inline Power Status Messages" section).

AP Admin Status Getting Disabled Automatically After Upgrade to 7.4
Hi,
We were using wlan controller 5508 firmware 7.0.235 and decided to upgrade our firmware because we wanted to use some new AP models. We upgraded the controller to the 7.4.110.0 and after that a problem started. Some of the AP are becoming ADMIN DISABLED and they are getting down, this is happening all day and random times. I need to manually getting them admin enabled so we can use them. What can cause this problem?
This happens in APs in Flexconnect mode.
Regards.

Disabling Kerberos After Setting Up an Open Directory Master - Mavericks
I am attempting to setup the "magic triangle" and one of the steps is to follow KB: Mac OS X 10.6 Server Admin: Disabling Kerberos After Setting Up an Open Directory Master
However, the command mentioned to disable Kerberos does not work on Mavericks as I get remove parameter not found. What is proper way to disable kerberos on a mavericks open directory master server so that Active Directory takes over for kerberos properly?
The article for the magic triangle configuration that I am following is: https://it.uoregon.edu/Magic-Triangle-setup
Also, is Apple's best practice in a "magic triangle" situation to join the client computers to OD and AD?Mavericks server seems to be smart enough to disable its Kerberos for you if you bind the server to AD before you create your OD Master.
if you want to use Workgroup Manager in Mavericks to manage preferences then yes you need to bind clients to AD and OD. We are doing this with Mavericks. it works.
however, Apple has now deprecated Workgroup Manager in favor of Profile Manager. If you switch to Profile Manager then you enroll clients to the server instead of binding them to OD.

IMac (Mountain Lion) does not pair with Apple Remote
Hi,
my iMac (2009, Mountain Lion) does pair with my remote. Otherwise the remote (or remotes, I tried two) are working fine with the iMac, it just wont pair.
I need it to pair as I have an iMac and MPB and each having its own remote (each computer should react only to its remote, not the other computer remote)
I googled this extensively, here is what I did so far:
- obviously, trying the normail "pair remote" procedure as the support page says
- checking that infrared remote pairing is enabled and no other remote is currenly paired
- restarting Mac OS
- removing and reinsterting battery in remote
- making sure I am an Admin
- disabling the remote function in Plex and killing all Plex (and EyeTV and similar) processes via Activity Monitor (thought they might somehow limite the OS control over the remote)
- tried the same with another remote (does not pair as well)
This is very annoying.
Can anyone help out?
Much appreciatedHi den,
Does the remote remember which computer it is paired to? I though only the computer remebers that.
In any case, currently there is not remote paired to any computer (both computers have clean new Mountain Lion installations). And I cannot pair any remote to any of my machines. In between, I tried with the laptop as well, and it is not pairing as well. I also tried an (old, still working) third remote... nothing is happening.
Some apps seem to take control of the remote (e.g. pressing menu start Plex on my systems). Could that be the issue? Is there a Terminal command to give Mac OS back full control over the remote?
Or could it be something else? 'Is there an app for that' a la ForcePair.app?
Thank you
p.s. this is the page that I was refering to ealier, not working for me -
Send a message to multiple computers(Not users) from win7/xp command/or scirpt
Hi Team, is there a way to send a message to multiple windows xp/win7 computers from my win7/xp? 3rd party software, commercial or free, command line, batch or script all welcome. I have a few hundreds of computers, ping-them alive, but I don't know their
location and user name. I was failed to push SCCM client to them, some could be in work group or admin$ disabled. so I plan to send a message like " please contact IT department for your pc maintenance by this Friday or this PC will be deleted from
the corp domain", when the user contact IT, we can RDP or manual install SCCM onsite with user cooperation. The msg.exe can only send to user, instead of computer names. I tried shutdown /m \\pc-name -f -s -t 1200000 "testMessage" but I got alert
of access denied. though it works if put my local PC name. is there any other way to accomplish this? Many thanks!
Thanks and best regards, -- KFHi,
Base on my experience, personally I think solve this case the better method is through your help desk collect the new computer information because consider this: “some
could be in work group or admin$ disabled”, if there have more workgroup PC, it will always hardly to manage them though a purely technical method.
About the domain computer, you can refer the following thread I replayed solution, notice a message to users to connect IT department.

The problem was Sys admin Disabled the SSH Std Port 22 for minimize the external attack. The OVM UI is hardcoded the logic to see SSH on 22 and hence utility server can't be created or contacted. Might be this bug in existing code and should improve as to see the custom port for SSH if configured......

Cisco APs not updating after WLC-update
Hello everyone,
I need to update my 5508 WLCs to a newer software, to support new AP-models.
Started with AIR-CT5500-K9-1-7-0-0-FUS.aes and AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-240-0.aes, everything worked fine. Pre-Downloaded the newer Image to the APs, restarted the WLCs and everything was ok.
Now I tried to update to 7.6.100.0 as well as 7.4.121.0. Both Versions should support my APs, but it doesn't work at all.
Any ideas are highly appreciated.
If you need further output, just let me know.
Regards,
Manuel

Nachricht geändert durch Manuel SporlederHi Scott,
I am not trying to pre-download it anymore, since this doesn't work at all.
If I just restart the controller, the APs are downloading the image telling me "everything is fine", are rebooted and that stated with the old image again.

Flash 11.5 Windows 7 32bit IE9 Crash
Good Morning,
I have a pc that flash seems to cvrash the browser when veiwing any flash movie, however the funny thing is that when you install it for the first time after installing it works fine, also when the flash player has crashed you are unable to run any of the windows 7 games, is this down to flash breaking somewthing to do with direct X ???
i have tried the following so far:
Reinstall 11.5
Reinstall IE9 & Flash 11.5
Install as Local Admin & Domain Admin
Disable all protection, Resintall as both local and domain admin
Reset secuirty settings to flash files to allow access to everyone
Completeley Remove all traces of Flash and Reinstall
Tried a new graphics card
All havent worked
we have now settled on Flash player version 10.3 as this is the only one that works, and the only one that is available on the flash website in msi format , as the exe files dlink to the adobe servers and complain that there is a new version and exit the program.
The PC this is running on is an Acer Extensa 210 2GB Ram 160Gb HD Win7 Ultimate connected to a domain
is there any big differencec between 11.2 and 11.5 in terms of system requirements or the technology the graphics cards need to have , as i am unable to see what the issue is, this is the only machine in the whoile building that has the issue.
Let me know if there is anything i can do or provide you with to move this along.
Regards
Matt O'GradyHi Matt,
Can you generate a crash dump (.dmp) and send it to me at [email protected] I'll take a look at the stack trace and see if I can figure out what's going wrong.
The instructions listed in this FAQ should detail steps to create a crash dump but I've also recently used a sysinternal’s tool to generate a crash dump for IE, when the reg files referenced in the FAQ didn't work.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900
In my case, I registered procdump.exe as the JIT debugger (C:\>procdump -ma -i c:\dumps) but it looks like you can also simply have it launch your app then monitor for exceptions (C:\>procdump -e 1 -f "" -x c:\dumps "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe).
Thanks,
Chris
Ps. The latest 10.3 is a secure version of Flash Player and definitely capable as long as you don't need some of the more recent 11.x features (3D, etc.)
