Adobe 9 Standard - Converting Excel, diamond-shaped artefacts on some pages...

I have a user whom I support, using Acrobat 9 Standard, who is having trouble converting some excel documents into .PDF files.
She has a number of multi-page, multi-table/chart/graph excel files that she needs to convert to .PDF
On most of these files (they are all fairly similar), once converted, some pages get these diamond-shaped artefacts at the top of the page - usually where one chart either reaches near the bottom of the previous page, or where it spans from one page to the next (at the top of the page the chart spans to.)
Here is an example:
We have tried various print drivers, and I even fully removed all Acrobat Software, ran regclean, removed all Adobe folders from user's profile folders and "CommonFiles" locations...  reinstalled...  no luck.
She can convert using CutePDF without these artefacts, but then she doesn't get the processing / editing options she wants within the PDF.  And there seems to be now way within Acrobat to select, move, alter, or delete this artefact.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

See if there is something in the header of the documents.

Will Adobe Export PDF convert a pdf document to an editable Pages document for iMAC?

    HI HolySpiritThree,
ExportPDf will convert the PDF into Docx and doc format. Then you can download that converted file to you desktop. So if you have Word on MAc you can use that to edit the converted PDF file.
I'm not sure about Pages, if pages can open(supports) .docx or .doc files then you can always use Pages to edit the document. I hope that answer your question.
Let me know if that helps.

    Hello nmohamm,
To examine the conversion settings in Acrobat, do the following:
    1. Select Edit > Preferences
    2. In the preferences dialog, select the "Convert From PDF" category.
    3. In the "Converting From PDF" list, select "Excel workbook".
    4. Click the "Edit Settings" button to view your conversion settings.

  • Converting a word 2000 file into pdf using Adobe Acrobat Standard X

I reinstalled my Adobe Acrobat Standard X today, and tried to convert a *.doc word file into pdf, but the application could not open the word file and got stalled. I remembered that last time I installed the application the same probelm cropped up and I had to install a Microsoft patch that was required to do this, What is the patch file and how do I get it?

I answer my question myself. I have solved it myself. The answer can be found by searching adobe website. But I give it here if it can be useful to others. Go to control panel. Go to Add or remove programs. Click on Modify in the listed Adobe program. Click Next in the box that appears. Select Modify. Click on + sign against pdF maker to expand. Click on X sign against 'this feature is not available' which shifts on to the little box on the left of Microsoft Office. Click on Apply. Quit. Once the Microsoft Office becomes disabled in Adobe, Word will open in all places.

  • Does Adobe Export convert Excel to pdf. ?

    Yes or No ?

    Hi georgebenjamin,
The other way around: ExportPDF converts PDF files to Excel (and several other formats). Adobe PDF Pack, on the other hand, lets you convert Excel files to PDF.

How do I cancel my subscription now! Adobe did not convert well to Word or Excel. I want a refund today. Not more ads for different products. Why is the ability to get a refund hidden?

    Sara,
Thank you for the quick response. I know that I cancelled my subscription

    cancelled the current subscription.

  • Converting excel /word 2007 documents to pdf issue

    Hello,
I am currently using Windows XP Pro SP3 and Office 2007, Adobe 8 Standard version 8.2.2 and Adobe Distiller8.2.2.217.  Sometimes when I try to convert Word or Excel 2007 documents to adobe PDF, it creates just a blank pdf file.  After a reboot, I was able to convert documents to pdf and again creates blank file.  From Word, if I click 'Acrobat' menu and click 'Create PDF' and in the  'Save As' dialog box when "Quick and Simple" is selected instead of 'Fully functional", pdf documents are created (not blank ones).  Unfortunately,  "Quick and Simple" option is not even available in Excel....So, at least twice a day I need to restart PC to convert documents....
Any suggestions / comments greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

No, you'll have to re-create them using JavaScript.

  • Acrobat 9 Standard converting to PDF

When converting docs from Word to PDF, we use the Adobe
Distiller to make the PDFs readable for users of Adobe 5.0 (It
seems to be a popular version for visitor to our website). We
recently upgraded to Adobe 9 Standard, and the files created cannot
be read by the 5.0 reader. The error message is "The root object is
    missing or invalid."
Looking at the properties, it says that the PDF is readable
by Adobe 5.0. However, when we use Adobe 8 standard, the file is
fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Converting excel link in mac acrobat x pro

I know you can maintain URL lionks when converting Excel to PDF on Windows with Acrobat X Pro. Can you do the same with the Mac version?

    What are you talking about?
If you use the Save As... > PDF  within Office2011 and 2008  you use the Apple PDF engine.
IF however you go to Print menu > PDF > Adobe PDF you make a genuine Adobe PDF using Adobe's PDF engine. It ieven uses the Acrobat Distiller Job options.
No wonder Macusers have go it alone. When the adobe employess don't know what's going on.
Click on the PDF button in the print menu.
Then hold button until menu pops up. Choose Adobe PDF or Adobe quality PDF (depending upon the version of OSX used).
menu choice will show High Quality , click on that button and choose desired job option. choose whether you want the PDF to open Reader as soon as its created or not.
    Click okay (or save)
Now you will be given opportunity change name or give desired name, choose desired location to save.
    Then hit Save.
Your Adobe quality PDF will be created.

  • Created a word doc with links to pdfs, is Adobe XI standard enough to merge as one pdf document

I am looking to create one flowing document, without the need to send customers lots of attachments.  I have a word document which has links to several other document types, usually pdf sometimes these have minimal volume other times these can be large in volume.  Currently I have to send all the documents as a folder, but I would like to send one tidy document, so if I convert to a pdf with Adobe XI standard will my linked documents be automatically inserted creating one document (I have not purchased yet, researching first)?

The linked documents will not be automatically converted to PDFs and merged
with your file, neither in Acrobat Standard nor in Acrobat Pro. You can do
it, but you'll need to do it manually by converting all the files to PDFs,
merging them and then adding the links between them.

  • Q regarding Acrobat 9 Standard and Excel 2007

Using 9 Standard and Excel 2007, what settings do I need to change to create a pdf document that looks like my Excel print preview?  Some of the graphs within our excel documents are large, say 3 graphs 5 inches wide each, which are then forced to fit the print area using excel's Fit-to page settings.  When we attempt to convert these to pdf using 9 Standard, the graphs end up 5 inches wide each, and do not fit on the pdf page.  These pages pdf perfecly using Pro 8 but not using 9 Standard.  Unfortunately, I can not change the Excel documents, because we have multiple users, some with 9 Standard and others with 8 Pro, all using the same Excel documents.
Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
    jim

Thank you for your reply, however the suggestion did not work.  My original problem still exists:  headers and footers are resized on each page, some so small they are unreadable.  Also (much worse), I did a 'save-as' on a file created in XL 07, saving as XL 97-03.  This caused a 'significant loss of functionality' within my file, affecting 286 different cells.  I often use XL07's =IFERROR formulas which are not recognized in 97-03.
So... I still have only a partial solution.  Adjusting the dpi settings allows me to successfully convert XL 07 files to pdf, but Acrobat 9 Standard is currently useless, because I can not add proper headers and footers.
Anyone else with suggestions?  All replies appreciated.
    Thanks
    jim
