Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting video file viewing after broadcast

My university (George Mason University) uses Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting to set up viewing for distance learning students.  I would like to see if there is a way they (or I) could capture these to a file for viewing later.  Thanks.
Tom

The host of the meeting should be able to start and stop recording the live session whenever they want/need. Then the recording is viewable from a link, not dissimilar to the link for the live meeting.

  • Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting Service Plans

    Dear all,
We would like to join the Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting Service Plans (Per Host Plan).
We are in Hong Kong and we will use Connect to communicate with our client in Europe, Australia and South America.
We would like to know how does the system decide to use which server in location.
Also, if we had record the meeting, will our client in South America play the recorded meeting with a good performance?
    Best Regards,
    Ivan

As we are in Hong Kong, when we open a meeting room, it will use the nearest server and that means the server used will be in Asia.
Then, no matter where our client's location, they will connect to the server in Asia to have web meeting.
Also, if the meeting is recorded, it will be stored in the Asia Server.
If our client want to see the video, they will connect to the Asia Server.
    Is my understanding correct?
If so, can we choose the server location?
We can do something to our broadband to make sure it is good enough for Web Meeting.
However, we can do nothing to our customer side broadband.
If we can choose the server location, for example, server in Europe, then, it can definitely help improve the performacne with Europe client.
    Please kindly help advise.
    Best regards,
    Ivan

  • Variables and Actions in Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro

    Hello Gurus,
I have been searching different forums around the net for three days, so I am really frustrated since I cant find anything related to this, and I am even thinking if this is really possible.
I'll try to explain what I wanted to make. I am using Captivate 4 and publishing my content through Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro server. I want to use this "Variables and Actions" Feature of my current version of Captivate. Now, I want that when my user open a training which she is enrolled with, I want her name to appear on the content, like "Hello Irish" something like that, without requiring her to log on her name. How could I make use this variables and actions in captivate 4 to get automatically the "first-name" variable of my user in Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro of my user?
    Is this possible guys?
    Thanks.
    Troy

    Hi,
I am looking at Connect Pro right now, and as I can see it on its default page it displays the name and lastname of the logged user, moreover, there is a part where you could either invite existing user, or create existing user, as mentioned in this link: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AcrobatConnectPro/7.5/Using/WS5C856274-D671-4665-9CD0-29868C89 60F2.html so I am thinking If maybe there could be a way where I can retrieve the "first-name"of the user through Variables and Actions of Captivate. Since I am trying to avoid prompting the user to type in their first names, I wish to do automatically, that is if it possible.
    Thanks.

  • Publishing to the Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro server - two questions:

I publish Captivate output to the Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro server.  I have two questions:
How do I publish content so that users open up the output in full screen mode?
How do I publish content so that users open up the output in their flash players instead of their browsers?
As is well know, varying browser toolbar setups can make or break if your content fits on to the screen.
    Thanks!

    Hi there
I'm unsure if you are asking about this as it relates to Connect Pro server or not?
If you are asking if there is a way to open a Captivate presentation in Full Screen from Connect Pro, I do note that during Publishing, in the dialog the option for full screen mode is disabled. (which is odd because the first time I checked, the option was actually enabled!)
Again, speaking in terms of deploying the content via Connect Pro server, I am unaware of a way to coax Connect Pro into presenting as a SWF only. At least, not if you are publishing to it from Captivate. I did test by publishing a SWF from Captivate to a local folder on my hard drive. Then from inside Connect, electing to upload only the SWF. That seems to work. But again, you really don't have any control over the size of the window that opens. At least as far as I can tell. (I'm somewhat of a Connect novice)
Perhaps you might locate the forums for discussing Connect and ask the questions there?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Keynote 08 Flash Export not compatible with Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro

    Hello
Our company uses Keynote extensively for presentations. We also give presentations online using Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional (hosted, formerly known as Macromedia Breeze - <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/>). Where as it's a great environment for online seminars (best I've seen), it fails dramatically when you upload a looping Flash file created in Keynote. I first tried this in Keynote '06 and now in '08.
When I tried in Keynote 06, the animation was three slides looping, synced to an audio track. When I tried in '08, it was one slide with (the new) animations looping over 20 seconds (or so) without a soundtrack.
I have some contact with Adobe, and this issue has been sent to their engineering department, but they seem to think there's something funky about the format of the file that Keynote exports. I'm trying to gather more data for them to investigate with.
Does anyone know what version of Flash Apple's export is most like? Do we have any specs on the file export format?
Has anyone tried using Flash exports in other Flash-using online environments?
    Thanks!
    ~brian

I believe I figured it was somewhere between Flash 5 and Flash 6. I say this because while the resulting presentations could be opened in QuickTime (which only uses Flash 5) a better result would be achieved by viewing in the browser. Either that, or QuickTime's Flash 5 support isn't complete.

  • Problem printing with Adobe Acrobat X pro. No File Save As dialog

We have a C++ program to print a formatted report, by selecting the configured  printers. "Adobe PDF" printer is available on install of Adobe Acrobat Pro.
During report print  when "Adobe PDF" printer is selected, the report use to get printed in a PDF document & saves at the path provided by the User.
Internally it uses printer APIs like  OnBeginPrinting, StartDoc, OnPrepareDC, StartPage, OnPrepareDC etc.
Report printing was working fine with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1. But since I installed Adobe Acrobat X pro (with update as 10.1.3) I am unable to print PDF document using "Adobe PDF" pinter.
StartDoc API does not pops up the "File Save As" dialog at all.
Any help in this regard, would be very useful.
Note: My code is working fine, if I use freeware like CutePrinter.
    Thanks,
    Amit Agrawal

    Interesting. My approach would
    1. Try on a different system if available. If still bad...
    2. Try to create a simple test application with CreateDC and StartDoc, and really nothing else not absolutely needed.
Test that.  If it is good, look for other problems in your application (e.g. memory overwrite).
If your little example is still bad, post it here and other people can try and compare your results.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 pro's windows installer appearing after right click on any file or application

I accidentally deleted the acrobat 9.0 manually from the program files. The acrobat doesn't work... There is also a nuisance. The windows installer for the Adobe acrobat keep on appearing when i right click a file or application. I have to cancel it. If i wait for it to load, it will say that the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click Ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installer package "AcroPro.msi" in the box below. if i click ok, it will show an error- the path"..." cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again or try to find the installer package "AcroPro.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product Adobe Acrobat 9 pro ... It will also cause the computer to be very lag. I am seeking assistance. Please help.

This happens when I right click on ANYTHING at all, I can even just right-click on the desktop and that install window comes on!
The program itself opens fine separately. I 'll be honest, I haven't used it much as I am just learning all the programs, so if it is actually working correctly I don't know. I do know that I tried to used the "covert to pdf" button while on Internet Explorer and it would not work. Don't know if the problem is related or not...
I have that idiotic UAC off - it drove me crazy...

  • Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting Service Plans - licensing and pricing questions

Hello! I was hoping someone here might be able to help me with a few nitty-gritty pricing / licensing / functionality questions, in regard to the Adobe Connect Pro Meeting plans.
    1) The pricing is $55/mth/host - if you have, e.g., 5 hosts, but make more than 5 recorded meetings available on-demand, will they all be accessible at any given moment?
    2) 25 concurrent users is the limit; is that per recorded meeting? e.g., if 15 people access one recorded meeting and 15 people access another recorded meeting, all at the same time, would you be over your limit?
    3) If you do happen to go over your concurrent user limit, what will happen for the 26th user? will they be denied access, or will you simply be charged an overage fee?
I'd appreciated any help or insight you have to offer!

I assume you got this pricing from the on-line website?  I ask because when you buy it from Adobe enterprise sales and through our corporate channel then this is all different.
    Answers:
    1. Yes. On-Demand recordings don't apply against your license.
    2. No. That 25 limnit is for concurrent live meetings. It's unlimited for on-demand recordings. That 25 limnit is completely set by the kind of license you are buying. if you purchased thru the software channel versus on-line then that number would be 100 not 25. On-Demand recordings have no limit.
    3. If you exceed the concurrent license, then the 26th person trying to join will receive a pop-up message saying the room limit has been reached and they will not be able to join. Yes, denied access. No way to charge a fee for overage.

  • Can adobe acrobat XI pro resize pdf files?

Looking for a software program that allows you to resize pdf files.  Can Acrobat XI Pro do this?

There may be a preflight script for what you want. The other way is not generally recommended based on the loss of markup and the modification of graphic resolution and such, but you can print the PDF to a new size with shrink to fit selected. As I said, it is not recommended, but might meet your need. You can also do some adjustment with the crop tool, but it depends on what your goal is.
If you are talking about the file size, that is a different issue and the Save As Other > Reduce File Size or Optimize PDF are the typical approaches.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro making .log files instead of .pdf files

I just uninstalled Acrobat 9 from one computer and installed it on my new one.  Now when I try to create a .pdf, it's creating a .log file instead. I have tried uninstalling again and installng it. Also, there is NOT a pdf hiding somewhere else. The program worked before on my other computer.

If you are receiving a .log file, it typically means that an error has occurred during the creation of the PDF file from a PostScript or EPS file via the Distiller. Open up the .log file in NotePad (assuming you are on Windows) and see what it says! Likely, the problem is that you new system is missing some fonts from your old system.

  • Requirements for participants - must they have Acrobat Connect Pro for meetings?

I am soon participating in a "eLearning" program and we have been told that the meetings are within "Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting".
It is not clearly stated anywhere if I need to subscribe and have this program installed myself or if it is actually only the host that needs the program.
Is having Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting installed/subscribed a requirement for the participants?
Thanks for any help - hope Adobe will state this much clearer on their webpages in the future.

All the techical requirements for joining a meeting are listed here: Adobe Connect system requirements, web conferencing, Mac | Adobe Connect
Basically you need to have Flash Player 11.2 or newer.

  • Acrobat Connect Pro LMS 7.5 server cache issue - displaying old content

Our Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro server is showing old Captivate-created content from about 4-6 weeks ago.
I loaded 35+ sets of Captivate 3 (SCORM 1.2, HTML, zipped) content onto our Acrobat Connect Pro LMS about 6 weeks ago.
I converted all training content from Captivate 3.0.1 to 4.0.1, 4 weeks ago by opening each file in Captivate 4 and following prompts to "Save As" new files with different file names.
I reloaded all content 4 weeks ago, and again 2 weeks ago.
I reloaded about half of all content again last week.
End User Acceptance testing performed this week showed that most of the courses are showing old content, ranging from 2-6 weeks old
    Attempted fixes and workarounds:
Deleting content entirely and reloaded from scratch - this will not work long term, as we lose usage data each time we reload completely new files.
Contacted Adobe, provided times to track incidents of the issue.  We reached Tier 2 - who told us it was our problem and that everything appeared to be working fine from their side.
New workaround - load new content and reattach course to new content.  This presents the same long term issue as the first workaround, but enables us to retain older versions of content in the system, should we need to revert or report on it.
Gaining server side access is a bit challenging due to the hosting situation we have, so I am looking (ideally) for a solution that can be performed from the Administrator/Author Frontend.  However, I want to learn the real cause of the problem, wherever it might reside, so that it can be properly corrected and avoided in the future.  I am calling this a server cache issue, as it seems the server has somewhere retained unwanted old versions of content, preventing current content from being displayed to end users.  Viewing content as an end user = see old content.  Viewing content from the Content area (Author view) shows the current files, so I know they are on the server and are loading correctly, up to a point.
I am preparing all content for another round of loading/reloading due to other issues and updates, so republishing and reloading all 35+ files into the LMS is unavoidable at this point.
This issue is keeping our LMS from launching to several thousand users across the country, so any suggestions or helpful tips are much appreciated.

I think I have isolated the source of this problem. It's the Pitstop Professional 9 plug in. I un-installed this, and everything opens quicker than greased lightning. I re-installed it and it's back to slowsville.
Unfortunately Pitstop is essential to my workflow.
Until recently I did my pre-press on a Mac G5 with Acrobat Pro 7 and Pitstop 6.5. I never had this problem with slow file opening. But it seems that the delays would occur when I used the plug-in with large complex files.. So it would open files as fast as you'd expect from an elderly machine. But starting to use Pitstop would result in a prolonged period of staring at a spinning beachball.
I wonder is there any way to stop the Pitstop plug-in from initializing until it is used? So the plug-in stays inert until you select the tool from from the menus.
