Adobe Acrobat Pro ist Acrobat Reader

I Installed the Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium. in the Acrobta Folder, ther is the Didtiller and acrobat pro. When I open Acrobat pro it is not Acrobat pro, but just the reader.

If I'm understanding you, you're saying that a PDF file opens in Adobe Reader, not in Acrobat Pro, correct?
That requires setting up in Mac OS X. Select three or four PDF files. For each one, choose File > Info in the Finder. In the Open With section, select Acrobat Pro. Click Change All.
Repeat this for each PDF file (there can be some underlying differences in whether the PDF is set to open in Reader, in Acrobat or in Apple Preview.

    Hi
I've a big problem with adobe acrobat reader XI pro and I hope you can help me.
The problem is; when I past copied text from some pdf books (not all of them) it past symbols only! wherever I past it! and even if I coped that text from another pdf reader (adobe pdf reader, internet browsers, ...etc.).
This problem started to happen since yesterday when I installed adobe acrobat reader XI pro to try it before I buy it, and before that when I was using the free adobe pdf reader I was totally able to copy any text from any pdf and past it anywhere with nothing wrong.
    What can I do?
    thank you a lot.

There is no product called Adobe Acrobat Reader Pro. There is
    - Adobe Acrobat Pro ($$)
    - Adobe Reader (free)
Which do you have? And are you a programmer?

OK, let's try more thoroughly uninstalling the hp software for 10.5 using the 'scrubber' option.  First, install the wrong software from the CD (for 10.5) so we can more thoroughly uninstall it.  Next:
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
    Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Hold the Ctrl, Opt and Cmd keys and click on Uninstall << This is the scrubber option
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click Continue and let it finish
    Restart your Mac
    Now, run a Software Update.
Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" Driver and Software from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Attempt to Access Invalid Address - Adobe Acrobat Reader XI or Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

    My spec's:
    - OS: Win 7 Ultimate SP 1 64 bit
    - currently have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro v 9.0.0 (works fine) - (AA9P)
    - Profile I am installing is an Administrator account
    - All A/V is turned off to include MS Security Essentials real time protection
    - MS EMET is turned off
I have tried upgrading to Adobe Acrobat Reader XI (AARXI) or the trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (AAPXI), and keep getting the same debug message "attempt to Acess Invalid Address"
I have UNINSTALLED AA9P, and THEN rebooted. I then tried to install AAPXI = same debug message. No errors were present during the installation and I also verified the MD5 checksum on the download, so that I getting a complete install package
I then UNINSTALLED AAP XI, then rebooted.
I INSTALLED AAPRXI, and received no errors during installation. Again, all installs are ocurring under a ADMINISTRATOR account with all security software disabled. Tried opening AAPRXI and get the same debug message.
My OS has every available patch installed for both Microsoft and Third Party.
Any suggestions on how to correct this installation?

Still no solution to this problem. I went ahead and purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI thinking I could always get refunded but maybe it was the trial version?
I have since taken a number of steps to verify my computer was clean before I installed AAPXI
-- remotely ran sweeps across my computer using Retina and Tenable Nessus = clean and all available/critical patches installed
    -- running Win7 Ultimate SP1
-- running latest versions of all third party software (Java, Flash, etc.)
-- Ran Sysinternal procmon to see if what was going on (will upload to adobe...tons of "NAME NOT FOUND")
---- in procmon, I filtered out most of the noise...just need an assist from Adobe Tech
-- I used the tool above that Claudio Gonazlez identified and removed everything, even my entire Adobe CS4 installation =(
    -- Rebooted
-- Double checked that all security software is disabled
** installed AAPXI with NO installation errors
-- tried opening AAPXI but get the same error " C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe    Attempt to access invalid address"
Any help from the community or Adobe? Been trying off an on for two weeks to fix this. Thanks

    Hallo

Internet Explorer. Das Problem tritt aber nicht immer auf, nur bei einzelnen Websites. Was soll ich an den Sicherheitseinstellungen ändern (habe diese bis jetzt nicht verändert seit ich den Computer habe)?
    Danke und Grüsse

I am using a Macbook Pro, OSX 10.9.5, Safari browser. Previous versions of Adobe Acrobat have worked fine for years.

What's the name of the file you are attempting to open?  Is it "ScreenFlow_4.5.2.dmg"?  If it is the correct name then the message is correct and you are attempting to open a file with DMG files extension and not one with a PDF file extension.  Adobe Reader opens PDF files an not any other file type.

  • Picture in PDF broken in Adobe Acrobat Reader for Windows

    Hi,
I always thought that Adobe's PDF-format is the ultimative, interchangeable file format. Well, what a surprise: it isn't:
I have a picture in a PDF document.
It is displayed fine on my Mac in Preview and in Adobe Acrobat 8.
The picture has severe distortions on Windows (eg. current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader).
You can find this PDF here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/285107/Picture.pdf
Please let me know how I can fix this?
Furthermore I would love to know why even Adobe cannot manage to display the PDF correctly under Windows?
    Thanks
    Daniel

Ok, just to summarize the status of my PDF:
Doesn't work in Adobe Acrobat X Pro (Win XP)
Doesn't work in Adobe Acrobat Reader X (Win XP)
Works just fine in Evince (Win XP)
Works in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro (Mac)
    Works in Preview (Mac)
    Works in Skim (Mac)
So most of the rederers tested display it correctly. For me that looks like a huge inconsitency in the Adobe Acrobat product family. It is not platform specific, because it does work in Windows as well (using other renderers).
I have two issues with that:
How come that Adobe Acrobat seems to be the only renderer with issues with this file?
Why do some version of Adobe Acrobat display it, while others don't?
To me that really sucks since I trusted the portability of PDF and my own Pro version of AA on my Mac far too much!
My lessons learnt here: Do not use Adobe products since they cannot be used consistently accross platforms (see Flash for another example).
Since the support policy of Adobe does only offer this forum free-of-charge even for obviously valid bugs, I decline to report this (again) as a bug due to my own time constraints.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader for Windows XP

I just uninstalled my Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0, which apparently never got updated and did not work, and now I need to choose a later version compatible with Windows XP; however, I'm not sure if my older software can handle the latest version or not.  Which version should I use?  I'm not technically that savvy but know a few things!  Thanks!

I cannot answer you a second time on your last reply in the forum, so am using email.  I wanted to mark your answer as correct so you'd get points and can do nothing.  I'm a new member.
The great news is I did get Adobe Reader installed this morning, (as I had to work on getting the Windows SP3 running yesterday.)  All your info was excellent!  Thank you so much again.
Other problems have arisen:  I can only manually open a pdf attachment to emails by manually bringing up Adobe Reader rather than clicking on the attachment and automatically viewing the pdf screen.  The older version opened it automatically in Firefox, so I don't think it's a Firefox problem, but could be since I'm a novice.
I've done everything possible to troubleshoot this, taking an extra day to update other software, to no avail.  It now will not comply with all the automatic commands for my homepage, Intel pro-set wireless, and I cannot disable a dosearch.com toolbar I never saw before.  I have AVG 2014 but with the sp3 McAfee security; possibly they conflict.  All my updates for everything I can find are current.  It just may be time to take this pc to the shop.

  • Is Adobe Reader the same as Adobe Acrobat Reader?

Is Adobe Reader the same as Adobe Acrobat Reader?

Sorta. There isn't anything called Adobe Acrobat Reader any more, but there was until about 10 years ago (version 5). With version 6 it was renamed Adobe Reader, and it's been that ever since.
There's also Adobe Acrobat, or Acrobat Pro/Acrobat Standard. That's the paid software.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader has not been installed on your computer

I get this error when trying to print from a website.
Adobe Acrobat Reader has not been installed on your computer.
You will be directed to a site where you can download
the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
But I already have reader installed and its up todate. HELP. I use a mac, This happens on Chrome and Firefox.
I have tried disabling and re abling the plugin. I disabled the default browser viewer. still cannot view the item to print.

Have you done ALL OF THIS?
In Firefox make sure you have at least two (2) tabs open - (Ctrl+T opens a new tab)
In the address bar of one tab, type "about:config" - minus the quotes, of course
You'll see a warning. Click "I'll be careful, I promise" and continue to the configuration page.
There's a search bar at the top. Type "js" - again, minus the quotes.
In the results you'll see pdfjsviewer.disabled with a vaule of false. Click it once, then right click it and choose Toggle to make the value "True".
    Close that tab.
Click Tools>Options and go to the Applications tab
Locate Adobe Acrobat Document (or Portable Document File (PDF)) in the list and click the drop-down to select "Use Adobe Reader (in Firefox)". (Mine doesn't have that because I also have Acrobat Pro installed)
    Click OK.
Click Tools>Addons to see that the Acrobat plugin is installed
Close and restart Firefox. PDFs should now open in a browser window with the Reader plugin.

  • Can't print via Adobe acrobat reader!

I can not print via Adobe Acrobat reader even though all other application work well with the printer and there is no hardware or connection problem involved.
the printer is:  HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fn Color Multifunction Printer
The same thing happened to my outlook but I fixed it by reinstalling the printer software,
I think reinstallation is not the way of fixing it, does anyone have the same problem or can help me?

    Hello
I understand you can print from all other programs except Adobe acrobat reader.
I have included a document to troubleshoot this issue for not being able to print pdfs.
Check your version and select the appropriate one to proceed.

  • "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)

We are getting the following error "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)" and a gray screen appears (Image not viewable) with multiple users. We are using Adobe Reader XI (11.0.05) and (11.0.06). The current workaround is to log off the website and log back in. Once the user logs back in, the pdf will appear. However it occurs anywhere from 2-8 times in a day. Anyone else having this issue or know of another workaround? Any suggestion with how to fix? Please help!!

    Hi Valerie,
Please let me know the version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader & operating system installed on your computer?
    Also, try this:-
    Launch Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
From the menu, choose Edit -> preferences -> General
Uncheck the option for "Enable Protected Mode at startup"
Restart the Adobe Reader and web browser.

  • Chrome - Adobe-Acrobat/Reader can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser.

I can't view PDF files via Chrome (it works on Internet Explorer but I prefer Chrome)  -  the error below has arisen recently on Chrome, though I can't see what has changed.
    "Acrobat plug-in
The Adobe-Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit  Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."
I have looked through Forum articles on similar errors and have tried the following(text copied from other Forum entries)
    Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Acrobat)
Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Control Panel
Configure Acrobat  as a helper application: Choose Edit > Preferences., Select Internet on the left., Deselect Display PDF In Browser Using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.Quit Acrobat or Reader
Create a registry item for Acrobat: with Regedit: If the registry item doesn't exist on the system, do the following: Go to Edit > New > Key and create the missing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe.Go to Edit > New > String Value and name this key (Default).Select (Default), and then go to Edit > Modify. Type the Adobe Acrobat path in the "Value data" for your product.,restart your computer
Repair the HKCR\AcroExch.Document registry key: Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document., Right-click AcroExch.Document and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts, Right-click AcroExch.Document.7 and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts. Repair your Acrobat  installation
None has solved the problem. However it still works ok with IE. But I want to stick with Chrome because I find IE is so slow!
I am using Vista, with Adobe Acrobat standard 9.5.2 and Google Chrome version 23.0.1271.64 m which is marked on Chrome as 'up to date'
Does anyone know why I might be getting this error on Chrome but not IE?

I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!
I have disabled Adobe Reader plug-in, and can now see PDFs in Chrome.
(Steps: Chrome Menu, Settings option, Click Advanced Settings link, then Content Settings button, then select Disable Individual Plug-Ins, and a list of plug-ins is offered to enable or disable).
I then get a different result depending on whether or not Chrome PDF viewer is enabled - with it enabled I see the PDF document in Chrome, or with it disabled then the option is offered to download it, but either way I can get it it via Chrome without having to run Internet explorer in another browser window.
