Adobe AIR game center multiplayer

I am looking into the possibility of creating a card game for iOS, using adobe AIR. However the one issue I have is what seems like the lack of support for the multiplayer features of game center, particularly turn based features, however with little experience in this I am not 100% sure if this is a neccesity? If anyone has any further information on this it would be much appreciated.

The GameCenter ANE does have multiplayer support. However it does not support turn-by-turn matches yet.
No, turn-by-turn matches aren't a necessity for multiplayer games.
You can implement a multiplayer match using the following methods of GameCenterController:
1. showMatchmakerView / startMatch : to start a match with / without the native UI
2. startMatchVoiceChannel : to start voice chat
3. sendMatchData : to send data to all or a few players
4. requestMatchPlayers : to request all the player objects participating in the current match
5. stopMatchVoiceChannel : to stop voice chat
6. endMatch : to finish a match
The controller object also disptaches the following events which are useful for multiplayer matches:
matchCancelled, matchDataReceived, matchFailed, matchPlayerConnected, matchPlayerDisconnected, matchPlayersFailed, matchPlayersLoaded, matchStarted, matchVoiceFailed, sendMatchDataFailed, sendMatchDataSucceeded

    I tried reproducing the issue. And I couldn't find the reference to the path "/Users/meetshah/Documents/Adobe Flash Builder 4.5/VibrationActionScriptLibrary/src/com/adobe/nativeExtensions/Vibration.as" Is it from the swc file that is used in the project ? Can you rather provide the code so that we could find out what is going wrong here ?

  • Game Center Multiplayer issues

    Please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong forum.
    I have an iPhone 4 and registered an account on Game Center - I have downloaded two games, Blast4 and Scalextric to play against friends via Game Center. However when I send out an invite it simply states 'Waiting' for the other player, whilst I know that this player has already accepted my request and is waiting for me to start the game.
    I have tried to be invited to a game, however whilst the other person recieves my request to start a game, I don't get an invitation, and the other person who has invited me to a game has a message saying they are waiting for me to accept.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem? It is a major disappointment of the phone, which I have so far loved. If anyone can provide me with some advice or let me know if they have had the same problem it would be good to hear from you,

    I have since been to the Apple store to ask for assistance and spoke to 3 members of staff, all of which have never heard of this problem. In actual fact, they all said they don't know many people who use Game Center. They had a play around, and suggested I ensure that both players on Wi-Fi, and that I have the latest software as well as the latest update of the games I have tried using.
    I have done all this but still no luck - they suggested the only other thing to try would be to restore the phone to its original state. I will try that tomorrow, and let you know if this solves the problem.
    It is a bit surprising at how little can be done, I was told that this was not a problem with the phone so there was not much they can do, it was more of an issue with Game Center, which is down to iTunes - and therefore there was nothing they can do. Has anyone got any advice on who I would contact to help with this problem?
    If anyone has had this problem, or is able to offer any advice it would be much appreciated.

  • Game Center is missing Requests button

    Hi all,
    I have never opened Game Center before, but I have received a friend request from my fiancee, and in trying to accept it, I discovered that my Requests button along the bottom is missing (see image below. I have "Me," "Friends," and "Games," and that's it. When I tap "Friends," the screen says only "No Friends" (waaah!) and there's no option for accepting friend requests or creating new requests.
    Has anyone experienced this before? I wonder if there's a setting somewhere that I have turned off? I checked my Settings, but can find no such thing. I appreciate any help. Thanks!

    I just noticed this too, I even rebooted the phone, restoring is not an option for me unless if a new update is out.
    I normally don't go into my game center but this morning I did, and there was no request tab or request a friend button.
    But here is something that I did. I had restriction on which disabled Game center multiplayer. Therefore, I went to game center, it wasn't there. Now I went back to the restriction, enabled the mltiplayer. Went back to game center, Voila, the request tab, was there. So check on your Restriction settings, and see if this might help?

  • Anyone know of a free working highscore system for Adobe air iOS?

    I used to use Mochi Leaderbords before starting coding Adobe Air games for iPhone and Android. As the Mochi API doesn't have mobile support I had to find something else and found Playtomic. Playtomic is great and easy to use, BUT it's constantly down
    My players are complaing on how often the highscore server is down. For me it's like 6/10 times I try to view scores that it doesn't show.
    Anyone know of an alternative free highscore system that works with Adobe Air for mobile?

    The Game Center "Requests" tab may be hidden if you have Restrictions setup on your iPhone 4S. Specifically, there is a restriction for "Adding Friends".

  • Adobe AIR 14.0.0.110 for iOS on iOS 8 beta 2 - Game Center not authenticating in the Game Center ANE of the Gaming SDK?

    I included the iOS 8 beta sdk and I have an app that is using the adobe gaming sdk's Game Center ANE, but Game Center isn't authenticating when I test the app. Is this a bug? Will it be fixed? I don't have two iOS 7 devices and I can't downgrade to iOS 7 so I'm stuck not testing my new app. My IDE is flash professional CS6.

    So now that Air 3.0 is official and released-  Is there any news on weather adobe will provide Game Center hooks, or is this something we have to create ourselves (or find 3rd party)?

    A buddy of mine saved up points and got the Ipod as a prize.  Ill try to find out from him how many points he used to win, but I'm sure the cruise is much more.  He should have kept playing and saving his points for something bigger

    Actually I found texture load issue on a game(names samkukjangtu on korean) which is using Adobe gaming sdk.
    the game uses the ATF file for the textures on the game(actually it's related in Air SDK, I think).
    Of course, it is not problem for others GPU. but the newly launched IMG GPU( PowerVR rgx version ) makes this problem.
    I guess the SDK is using GPU information for the control some configuration
    is that right? please let me know about this issue ASAP.

    Well. the issue is like texture loading problem as shown below.
    <- this image is made from ATF files.
    From checking original ATF file with ATF view program, the image was all right.
    But the image is polluted like this after loaded on Texture memory.
    So, I assume that Adobe Air SDK set some configurations for loading ATF files with GPU information.
    Becasue this problem is not reproduced on the smartphone which uses the existing GPU(It means already launched GPU), but it is reproduced for the newly developed GPU(actually i'm developing with Imagination rgx version which is not really launched).
    To sum up, Please confirm that Adobe Air SDK uses GPU information for loading texture from ATF file.

    I am experiencing the following problems with Milkman Games in-app-purchases ANE dor Adobe AIR:
    PROBLEM 1
    0) StoreKit is created and correctly returns all the product IDs via StoreKit.storeKit.loadProductDetails()
    1) I purchase item A, the item is correctly purchased
    2) I purchase item B, the item is correctly purchased
    3) I uninstall and re-install the app
    4) I restore transactions via StoreKit.storeKit.restoreTransactions()
    5) Only item B is restored ( onPurchaseSuccess() is only triggered once for item B)
    EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR: I would expect that restoreTransactions() would trigger onPurchaseSuccess() for each of the items previously restored.
    PROBLEM 2
    6) I close the app
    7) When I restart the app, onPurchaseSuccess() for product B is fired without any of the app code calling it.
    Is StoreKit attempting to restore transactions by default everytime StoreKit is created? (i.e. StoreKit.create(); )
    Testing device: iPad2, iPhone4
    Operating System: iOS 7 and iOS 6
    Compiling for: AIR 3.8
    Type of item purchased: all items tested are non-consumable
    Did anyone ever experienced such a behaviour with iOS in-app-purchases in an AIR mobile app? Any ideas or pointer in the right direction are appreciated, thanks!

    Shared Objects aren't working for me after the last update Adobe Flash Pro 13.1.0.217 and Air 3.9.0.1380. After exporting to the iPad the apps I get an erro when using Flush command:

  • Is Adobe AIR/Flex good to begin in game creation ?

    Hi all !
    I have a little question, I want to begin to learn how to create little games (2D games first) (I'm more a Web/Server Side Programmer/Administrator than a Desktop pPogrammer), and I would like to know is Adobe AIR/Flex (without using the Flash IDE if possible) is good for that ?
    It looks a lot easer than the others ways (Java, C++, python), no needs to think in "threads","mutex",etc and other things like that, and the multimedia API help a lot for the video/sound side
    So, what about creating games with Adobe AIR ? What about performances ? Is it possible to create 3D games ?

    Personally I'm still debating whether to start learning iPhone development or AIR at this particular point.
    At any rate, anything you can do in Flash you can do in Air, so I'd probably start with the Kongregate game creation tutorial. It's AS2 not AS3, but it will give you an idea what you can accomplish with a couple hours of development.
    No idea how good it is for 3D, but a lot of those "virtual tour" things are done in Flash. Probably not your best starting point if your plan is to make your own FPS but...

      our android application to   inject some event( up / down / left / right keys for example)

    Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 that you have is a relatively low end graphics card and low end for on-board graphics chips, whichever you have. ''Unless that is a laptop that switches drivers for "gaming" which puts a lot more load on the hardware and runs the battery out a lot faster.'' Technically the HD 4600 ''should'' be enough for web browsing, but Flash is a lot more than simple web browsing.
    IMO, if disabling the Flash Protected Mode solves that issue - do that. Or upgrade your hardware, especially if you have a separate Graphics Card ''[vs an on-board chip]'' or can install a better card in a desktop computer.
    As far as YouTube videos goes, have you tried using the HTML5 setting for YouTube?

    Make that setting and Google will deliver HTML5 video when it is available for each "clip". From what I have seen ''[I'm not a big user of YouTube, though]'', like maybe 75% of the clips I see are available in HTML5 - ''ymmv''.
    BTW, Mozilla is working on eliminating the need for even having to use Flash. They're working a a project which is code-named Shumway to play SWF-format files.
