Adobe Air will not install for Mac OS 10.5.8
When I try to open the installer.app, I get the message: "You cannot open the application Adobe AIR installer.app because it is not supported on this architecture". I am running OS 10.5.8 on an iBook G4 (1.42 GHz PowerPC G4). Help, please. I do not understand the directions for getting the log msgs.

I'm sorry you're running into this problem. The error is being caused by the lack of support for the G4 processor in the AIR 2.5.1 runtime. Please use AIR 1.5.3 instead.

Adobe Air will not install / reinstall. Prior to attempt to reinstall, it would not update. The automatic "update now" button was greyed out, but the "update later" button was active.
Here is what my system administrator wrote:
1. Right-Click on the installer, clicked 'Show Package
Contents' and attempted to install from the MasOS folder. This
provided an interesting error in the terminal window, however still
did not install.
2. From there, I opened 'Console' (found in Applications
--> Utilities) and dug through the install error logs. Pinned
the issue down to AIR trying to update / use files that were
already in use.
3. Restarted the computer under the primary admin account
(the account used to setup the computer) and installed successfully
from there. -
Adobe Aire will not install? I am new to this site and I have never seen one more difficult to navigate ! Every time I click I get asked to subscribe to something else it seems. What a bunch of hucksters !!

If you're still having problems installing AIR can you try the following steps:
1. Uninstall the AIR runtime
2. Delete all left over AIR directories and files. This includes the following directories:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\www.macromedia.com
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\www.macromedia.com

3. Install AIR 2.5.1 again

Adobe AIR will not install on Windows 7 sp1
I have had AIR running under Vista 64 bit with no problems. I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate sp1. Ever since then I have received an error message. I have tried many different things mentioned on the forum. I even tried installing as Administrator. I need some help if anyone has had a similar problem and resolved the issue. Thanks Glen

Don't waste your time. Air doesn't work. Find an alternative to Adobe products instead.

I understand the frustration, believe me, I really do. Unfortunately, while we do thoroughly test installers we do run into system specific issues from time to time. I do my best to help users, going out of my way to do desktop sharing sessions (at all times of the day and night to accomidate our global user base), creating repair scripts, etc. But you are correct, sometimes it does get technical and we do require the installer log to figure out what might be failing. I apologize if I wasn't able to solve your problem in the past, if you can point me to a post where I didn't follow through I'd be happy to re-read it and see if we can make progress.

Adobe Air is not installed on Mac 10.6.7
Hello,
I read and reread all the discussions in here. Followed Chris's script repair nothing helped. Here is the my issue, after a fresh download of Adobe air, when I try to istall it nothing will happen. On the Adoe Air installer window it said 1of1 selected,Zero KB available. Then I found this in my folders, I mean user/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Air/updater. There is nothing in the updater folder. I trashed this air folder and reinstalled air, the same thing old story. If you like to see what is in my consol, here it goes

Use Firefox. Have BBC iPlayer which will not load, saying I need a newer version of Adobe Air: when trying to instal Adobe Air, get message saying I already have a more recent version. It worked when I was using IE, but not since changing to Firefox.

stumbled on this conversation after having problems myself.
After lots of trial and error, I was finally able to install iPlayer on my MacBook Pro.
Firstly remove Adobe Air (Applications, Utilities, Adobe Air Uninstaller).
Reboot (not sure if it is needed but it is what I did).
Download Adobe Air 2.5 from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/853/cpsid_85304.html
Then retry installing iPlayer from the BBC webpage. I ignored the prompt from Adobe Air to upgrade to the latest version (3.1). -
I am having trouble running the packaged adobe Air installer (downloaded from http://get.adobe.com/air). The .dmg image mounts fine, then when I double-click or select the package nothing runs. I even tried to run the installer inside the package (from the gui and a shell) and nothing executes. I get no error messages either.
I recently upgraded from OS X 10.3 to 10.4.11, and have tried all I can find on the web.
A summary of what I've tried:
- checked file permissions
- run installer as administrator (every time)
- downloaded the package several times and from several locations(adobe.com, cnet.com)
- tried to run the installer on a terminal using sudo command
- followed this similar thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2024084) and tried everything on it (repair disk permissions with disk util, create new admin account to install - couldn't install it there either)
- There are no packages in /Library/Receipts,
- Nothing inside Applications, nothing inside Applications/Utilities

Adobe Air will not update or install in Win 7 64 bit
Adobe Air will not install. It gives me the message that it may not be approved by my administrator (me).
I have tried it several times, and elevated it to an administrator with the same message. Under users\local\ appdata\adobe, I have renamed the directories to force it to rewrite to no avail. After doing that, here is my install file

XPpro with 2.4ghz cpu, 2 gig ram, 2 much harddrive, single-user desktop, and I am the registered administrator.
Problem is Adobe AIR will NOT install.
I downloaded Adobe AIR installer and ran in normal way.
Adobe AIR attempts to install and then craps out with a message, "Sorry, an error has occured."
The error reported is error=0.
There are no logs, because there are no Adobe AIR common files in the Program directory.
Adobe AIR does NOT appear on the list of installed programs in Control Panel.
Have searched the registry and removed all references to AIR, and then tried to reinstall, with same result.
Another time, the error message said I was not the administrator, but control panel says I am, and I am the only user.
Any HELP solving this critical problem would be keenly appreciated, and thank you.Sorry forgot to add system info:

I have a licensed copy of Adobe Acrobat X Pro for Windows. I recently switched over to MAC OS and would like to move my Adobe X Pro over but the CD will not work for Mac OS? Can anyone assist me with this conversion?

James.you cannot use your pc license to install on a mac. you would need a separate license (and serial number) for that.
adobe allows platform swaps, but only with the latest (xi) version, Order product | Platform, language swap
your option to use acrobat on a mac are to upgrade to acrobat pro xi and change platforms, use a windows emulator (parallels/boot camp etc) on your mac or swap with a third party. -

Hi Terry, What version of Flash Player are you using? You should be able to tell by going to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ Does it happen in browsers? Could you test in Safari, Firefox and Chrome? What happens when you try to play them? Is it possible to post a screen shot? Thanks, -Dave

I get this Error Message after I tried to install "typeDNA" latest Version 2.2.0:

If I press OK Button "Setup" says:

Adobe CS4 will not install on new macbook pro. It is coming from my other macbook.
Install normally means running setup from the orginal discs or the downloadable trial version. If you are copying from a backup or another computer, that won't work.
Best advice is to download the CS4 trial, and have your serial number ready in order to convert the trial into a licensed version.
Get the trial here. Follow the instructions carefully or the download link won't work.
