Adobe Flash lost connection @ 30%. Mac install fails.

I am seeing this all over the forums with no one finding a solution. I have tried everything suggested either in Safari or Firefox including a clean install 3 times!! Even after uninstalling and deleting the flash files in the library, when I go to try downloading and installing it immediately starts at 30% and then I get the error message "Lost connection. Trying to connect...." then it hangs for a bit and then I get "Connection failed. Unable to complete installation." I go to their support link when the install fails but the link that they suggest to download from directly in the final step is "NOT FOUND". See here: Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac
This same link is showing up in several forums for a solution. I don't know what else to do. I'm posting this to add to the many many others with the same issue in hopes that Adobe will fix this! I am on a MAC OS 10.9.5. Never had this issue before with the flash updates!!!

Solution found on another thread. Download the offline installer here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player_osx. dmg
I downloaded and was able to install Flash properly. Make sure you do a clean install just to be sure.

In commandline, the command "installer -pkg install.pkg -target /" does work in installing pkg released by Apple. But it does not work in installing pkg released by adobe, such as "Adobe Reader XXX.pkg".

I have followed every step in the various help pages I was directed to when troubleshooting the inability to install Adobe Flash Player on my Mac using either Safari or Chrome. Everything has failed. I always get the black box that says briefly, "Retrieving instal. . . " and then goes blank. When I close that window, I get the message, "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed." Then it gives some links to follow for troubleshooting. I have followed ALL of the links there and on other help pages, to no avail. I've run into problems installing Adobe before, but it's never been this bad. Would someone please develop another format besides Adobe? Trying to get help from Adobe feels a little like trying to find a building in New York City with no map or GPS. The time required is voluminous, the emotional energy a/k/a frustration is overwhelming, and long before I get anything resolved, I wish the earth would open up and swallow all things Adobe@. Absence that miraculous intervention, I have to figure out what to do next. Does anyone know? Anyone?

Go to this link to download the installer and this link to determine which version you have installed. Always get extensions like this from the publisher (in this case Adobe) and not from some website that says you need an extension and offers to install it for you since you may end up with malware instead.
BTW, once the current version of Flash is installed, you can set its preferences to update automatically in the background.

You will have to upgrade to 10.6 to use the latest flash.10.5 Leopard was based on Power PC code and was written to be able to run on both Power PC and Intel processors. 10.6 Snow Leopard has completely rewritten code and only runs on Intel Macs. So anything written to run on 10.5 has twice the code needed for one written for 10.6 or newer.

On Xat Flash Chatrooms it freezes. I thought Adobe Flash Beta 12 would fix my problem of the chats animations and chat freezing but it only temporarily fixed it because when I rebooted my Mac it still freezes the animation and chat! The latest versions of Adobe Flash non-beta Adobe Flash 11 something freezes too! Which specific Version of ADOBE Flash works properly on Mac OSX? NONE?

I believe my macbook is running Nvidia 9400m 250mb card
So each Mac that has had this problem is running Nvidia tho I don't know if thats the problem and I doubt it is. I'm sure it's a bug in Adobe Flash and Apple not caring enough to address the problems with Adobe Flash not working properly. If the two companies can't get a long, then why doesn't apple spend a little bit of money making their own compatible Flash for their safari browser?

This is becoming very frustrating, so I need a solution. It does this on my Macbook and my Desktop Mac both which have Nvidia gpus.

The latest Flash 11 works fine for me on Mavericks, on every site that plays videos.

Flash Installer cannot download. Finally get the message, "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed." I already uninstalled the old copy, now I have no Flash Player.

My issue was identical.... days of frustrating downloads and initializing but no installation........ UNTIL I chose to not use the default installer and chose 'Save File'. Now I have the latest Flash installed in OS 10.8.5 no problems !!
This time a long download of 16MB arrived in the downloads folder that actually worked.
Prior to this, all downloads were around 1.6MB and there was no .dmg in the package.
I got my download under where it says "Still having problems?"
