Adobe flex integration into abap webdynpro

hi experts,
i am new adobe flex development. i am following a tutorial preapred by thomas jung Adobe Flash Islands for Web Dynpro ABAP u2013 Tutorial #1, he used flex 3 to develop the flex application. i am using flex 4 downloaded from adobe. i followed all the steps. what i have observed is when i type import statement the color othe "import" word is not changing to blue ( it does change for other tags). somehow it is not recognising "import" "CDATA" [BINDABLE] statements. i have added the wsislandlibrary30.swc to the librarypath of the project. i am suspecting whether the version mismatch is causing the issue. please advise

Adobe Flex isn't an SAP product therefore I can't really trouble shot problems you are having with their IDE in general. I can tell you that SAP doesn't support Flash Builder 4 for Flash Islands. We only support Flex SDK 2.x and 3.0-3.3. You can use Flash Builder 4 but in your project settings you must force build with one of these older SDK versions.

Not sure if you mean converting an Interactive form built for WD JAVA into a WD ABAP application
or just using Interactive forms in general with WD ABAP - certainly this it is possible to use Interactive
Forms in general with WD ABAP as HCM Processes and Forms is WD ABAP based and uses Adobe interactive forms

Zci type ADOBE Interactive Form in ABAP Webdynpro short dump

When I ran the 'FP_PDF_TEST_00' , it shows

In my ABAP Webdynpro app., it has 3 inputfields.
In the Form layout, I changed the form layout type to 'ZCI' for interactive form, and Insert the WebDynpro Script.
And in the ABAP Webdynpro view layput designer, I enabled the pdf form element.
All objects compiled without any problem.
During the runtime, it got the following short dump:

Hi,
As far as i know when you use Adobe forms in a WD4A application, language is your "web" connection language.
You can have a look at standard class CL_WD_ADOBE_SERVICE, it's used when generating an adobe forms from WD4A. , more particulary look at method DETERMINE_DOCPARAMS.

Adobe Flex 4 with ABAP web dynpro

I currently am working with Flex 3 but wanted few features of Flex 4 for my project. Is there any way that I can use Flex 4 with ABAP web dynpro. I have tried using the 'Use Flex 3 compatibility mode' with 'merged into code' but this does not work. There is no data transfer happening. I see in the forums that this is not possible but all the posts are one year old. Just wanted to check if any new method is availabe.

Integration of Adobe Flex 3.0 with Webdynpro ABAP

Dear Experts,
This is the first time I am trying to work with Flex and trying to integrate with Webdynpro ABAP.
What I have done is made a 'Starter' project in Flex where I have just embedded an image , downloaded
1. WDIslandsLibrary30.swc
2. WDIslandsLibrary30-debug.swc
included them in the flex project and did Export Release Build.
What I want to do through this project is just to display the image and no data exchange is happening here between Flex and webdynpro.
Next I have made a webdynro project , included the Flash Island and imported the mime object.
When I activate my object and run the application I dont see the image , i can only see a blank window.
Please guide me where I am going wrong.

Adobe Flex integration - Issue with populating table in Flex

I'm trying to populate a table EXORGDS. In SAP I have defined the same DATASOURCE as EXORGDS. Here is the code I have defined in Flex.

Combine Adobe Flex 2 with Web Dynpro ABAP

Does somebody know if there is a way to call a WDA component from an Adobe Flex 2 application or the other way around? I think within a Portal it should be possible by creating 2 iViews and let them communicate through input and output events (portal events).
However I am looking for a way without having a portal available. Example: I have created a WDA application that displays customer information in a simple ALV. When I click on a row I would like to call a Adobe Flex component which shows the information in a very nice graphical chart that we cannot create in WDA because it is too complex and in Adobe Flex it is possible.

"Flex integration into Web Dynpro is not available to customers yet. The last I heard, it is supposed to be made available for Web Dynpro Java in Q2 of 2008 and made available for Web Dynpro ABAP in Q3 of 2008."

R u tried download the java form into XML and then uplaod to WD Adobe Form.this is simple way to import and export the Adobe forms.

Adobe Flex is not similar to Java Webdynpro. You can get more information from the Adobe Webpage and also a trial version. Adobe Flex is part of Visual Composer Compiler capabilities. At SAP TechEd in Munich was an interessting demo of rendering webdynpro with Flex during the Demo Jam. I've combed and searched extensively and most of the documentation is anywhere from 4 to 7 years old. A lot of it focuses on outdated gems or libraries. I've even seen Rails 2.0 as a focus for a lot of this information.
I would just like to know if anyone has any valid resources for the latest Adobe Flex integrating with a Rails 4.x application. And, if so, where is this hidden information listed or located?

Hi Sai,
Model is nothing but the business logic similar to the Java webdynpro . I guess you have seen those Hook methods like WD_doinit, WD DOmodifyView some standard default methods which we get according to the requirement we write our code as and where we want . One basic thing is u must be aware of the Context which is the heart of the webdynpro abap applications the interaction between the screen and the database is done by this .
Let me take a small example of how are we going to use the RFC or Bapis.
EG:
We have a screen UI elemnets in which we have one input field and a table our aim is to fetch the data into the table depending upon the input field or say selection field . and here we will be using say RFC or it may be a BAPI.
SO step1. Intially we desing the screen UI elements , create a Node for the input field with cardinality (0:1). and create another node for the table binding with cardinality as (0:n).then bind the values of the screen .
step2: Now since after giving the value in the input filed we want to fetch the data. On action of the Button or on enter of the input filed we need to write our code.
That means here our bapi or RFC comes into picture . what we need to do is get_attribute of the input field and call that RFC in import values pass the get_attribute value and see that it returns some table
say lt_table.
Now when you debug you can see the table values which we need to bind it to the table.
lo_nd_table->bind_table( lt_table ).
This will fetch the table values depending upon the input field values you giv .

BSP and ABAP webdynpro

I am planning to start working on POC (Proof of concept). This requires BSP to be integrated with ABAP webdynpro. Can some throw some light on how this integration can be done. ie sharing the context values between both applications.

Well BSP and Web Dynpro ABAP are very different when it comes to internal architecture. Just because they both run in a browser doesn't mean they can be integrated like you describe. You could run both a BSP and Web Dynpro ABAP application in separate frames within the browser; however to the backend server these would be two completely separate processes running in their own memory space.
First of all you couldn't directly share the context values. BSP doesn't even have the concept of a context. You could pass some keys via URL parameters or Server Cookies. You might even be able to pass larger amounts of data. However the eventing becomes a bit of problem. The exception here is if you use the NetWeaver Portal. Then you can use Portal Eventing to pass data and events between the two applications.
