Adobe flex on pdf forms

Hi
I want to implement a floating menu on the pdf forms developed using livecycle.
As I have soem buttons at the end of the form(Which consists of  10 pages). Instead of user going all the way downa nd clcik any of the button
I want to implement a floating menu on left hand side which will move as the user changes pages
Is it possible , if so can somebody give me an example or a  location where i can find some tutorials.
thanks

Hi,
Yes there is Javascript in the mouseEnter event of each textField on the master page:
     var mouseY = 823.89 - event.target.mouseY; // working from top of page..
     var newY = (mouseY + "points").toString();
indexSubform.y = newY; // sets position of subform
this.access = "protected"; // to prevent the user inputting data
You need an event to capture the current mouse position. I cannot work out a way for a numericField to constantly update the current mouse position (in real time).
I don't think that there is an equivalent of pageY or screenY in LC Designer, so I don't know how to track page views.
Good luck,
Niall

  • Adobe PDF form / submit sutton does nothing in Safari 5.1.2

    Hi,
We display embedded Acrobat PDF forms containing a submit button in Safari.
If I press "submit" nothing happens, this worked some Safari versions before.
My Adobe Reader is: Adobe Reader X, Version 10.1.1
My Safari version is 5.1.2, I removed and reinstalled it, still does not work.
    Reading this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8302233/pdf-submit-a-form-button-safari
"I contacted Adobe again, and their technical support was more helpful.
It is a known issue, and Adobe suggests using a different browser, or downgrade to Safari 5.0.1.
Adobe will soon issue a patch for this to work with Safari 5.1.1.
Well, I have 5.1.2 and this does not seam to be fixed yet.
Downgrading my Safari version to 5.0.1 made the Adobe PDF forms work again with Safari, the submit button does  something.
Does anybody have some information about this? Is there another way to solve this issue then to downgrade to version 5.0.1 ?
    Thanks for helping
    huba

    Hello,
I'm experiencing the same issue and wondered if you have any news re this problem or have found some workaround ?
I've performed tests on all verions of Safari  5.1.x including the latest 5.1.4 and unfortunately the bug still exists.
Thanks in advance for your consideration and any help!

I have Adobe Creative Cloud.  How do I edit a PDF form I created at work and e-mailed to my home tablet?

    Hi Val,
I see! Please see this thread: Is FormsCentral part of the Creative Cloud?
Creative Cloud doesn't include FormsCentral, which is why you're being prompted to upgrade. (An Acrobat Pro subscription, on the other hand, does include FormsCentral.)

  • How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central.

How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central. It's for an online Diet Questionnaire. After people complete the form I'd like them to click "SUBMIT" and the completed form will be emailed to me.

This can be a bit confusing because Acrobat 11 comes with the desktop app that allows you to create simple PDF forms without having a FormsCentral account. Some people find this helpful, but you need to understand that when you generate the PDF form, it is Reader-enabled by Acrobat. In order to edit the form further in Acrobat, you have to create a non-enabled copy of the form. You do this in Acrobat by opening the form and selecting: File > Save a Copy
and opening the copy. It is not opened automatically.
You can now add a button and set it up to submit by email, either using a "Submit a form" action or the submitForm JavaScript method. You can set it up to include just the form data or the entire PDF, and will want to use a mailto type URL. Submitting the form to the FormsCentral server has a number of important advantages over email (much more reliable, more secure, etc.), so you might want to consider it.
If the form needs to be saved with Reader versions prior to 11, then you will need to Reader-enable the document. In Acrobat 11 you do this by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

  • How do I enable a LiveCycle PDF form to be saved in Adobe Reader?

I have an interactive PDF form that I created in LiveCycle. However, when it is opened with Adobe Reader, the user is unable to save it. They can only print from Reader. How do I enable the LiveCycle PDF form to be saved in Adobe Reader?

Open you form in Acrobat and then save it via File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools.

  • How to make a pdf (form) accessible for reader in Adobe Acrobat x pro?

Hi guys, i have bit of a problem here as i am new to the Acrobat pro X
Using Acrobat pro 9 i always could save a LiveCycle pdf form with permission to fill and save as a reader user. now i have upgraded to cs6 and i have no clue how to do that anymore. The half of the options are gone and i can't access the older Acrobat pro anymore.
Does anyone know how to save a pdf form using Acrobat X for adobe reader users giving permission to read and save my pdf files?

For Acrobat X go to File-> Save as->Reader Extended PDF
This will embed the reader extended rights in PDF.

You need to disable that preference in the individual users versions on Reader, not your version of Acrobat.

To enable forms in Acrobat XI go to File>Save as other>Reader Extended PDF...

Users can get the newest Reader at Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions

  • Saving PDF forms in Adobe Reader 8 and below

    Hi everyone,
I've created a PDF form for a survey using Acrobat XI Pro, and I've also Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in and save). I've tried it on Reader 9, X and XI, and I'm able to fill out the form, save it and email it back to myself. I've also emailed it to a few of my friends to try out the form and email it back to me, and most of them are able to do so.
But the problem is one of my friends who's using Reader 8 is unable to save the completed form. This message comes out when he tries to save it:
"This document contained certain rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and these rights are no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document."
I've tried reading about this problem online, but I can't seem to find a satisfactory answer anywhere. I'm not sure if anyone knows of a way to overcome this, or if it's just simply that Adobe Reader 8 and below are unable to save a PDF form.
Please help, I'm really at my wit's end.

    Windows Vista.
I'm trying to make sure my form works for every one of my respondents, as I can't be sure what kind of Reader versions each respondent will be using.

  • Why can't I create Fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and upload to Dreamweaver?

I can create fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I can email them to someone using Adobe Reader (free) and they can fill them, save and email to me. But when I upload the form to Dreamweaver CS5, the form is not fillable. And yes, I saved it as a Reader Extended PDF-Enable Additional Features.

I see no reason for this form to fail in Reader. Some questions for you.
    1. On the system with Adobe Reader, what is the system and the version of Adobe Reader?
    2. Are you viewing the PDF in a browser on the system with Reader, or in an Adobe Reader window?
    3. If it's a browser
    (a) what is the browser
    (b) if you download the file instead, and open directly in Reader, what happens?

  • How to delete checkbox in pdf form using adobe acrobat professional 6.

I  am trying to modify a pdf form having a single layer. There are some checkboxes which i want to delete. I am using Adobe acrobat 6 professional. USing Advanced Editing tools -> Touchup Object Tool , i have try to delete the checkbox, it deletes all fields and tables in the form and there is only text left on the form. Any help would be appreciated. . Thanks@

You do not use the "Object Tool" to edit forms. There should be a "Form" menu option and under this option you will have the opton "Edit form in Acrobat". This is the way one should edit/create a form in Acrobat.
