Adobe form xi binding

iam working on xi and developing a adobe form online.
how to do binding the fields from dynpro(adobe form) into xi message mapping.
please help me

Both the ways are correct. There is not any problem doing binding in both the ways. But binding to subform is more easier. In case of creating tables it is preferred to drag and drop the data node from the data view to the form, as it is more easier and error free.

Hi Experts,
I'm trying to create a new label with Adobe Forms (not interactive).
So I've created an interface with a table LABEL_DATA (import) and many variables (import) and a new Form with Layout.
I tried to bind some text fields with the imported variables und fields from the table, they're all available in the context, but all fields are still empty (preview and print).
Field are Text Fields
Type is : Read Only
Data Binding is : $record.LABEL_DATA.KDMAT
Can someone please help me?

Hello David,
In your interface, have you declared LABEL_DATA as GLOBAL Data ?
You can fill the table and variables in the INITIALISATION in the interface.
Then you can use the Global table and variables in the form.
In case you are missing some values; you can debug the code in INITIALISATION section. Get the import tables in INITIALISATION and filter the required values into Global Table and variables.

Adobe Form - Data Binding

Hi All
Apperently in Adobe Form, the data for a variable field can be bound in 'object-binding tab' - Object can be a text field or a subform - Could someone please tell me whether it is a common practice to bind data at the subform level ? or It is better to create a text field in the subform then bind the data to it? and will there be any problem later on If I bind data directly to a subform? - I'm new to this and I cannot find answer anywhere - Thanks

How to use SAP Business Workflow along with Interactive Adobe Form

Hi Experts,
I am working on SAP Business Workflow since last couple of years.
Now i have got a new Project where client wants to use SAP Business Workflow along with Interactive Adobe Form.
I am new to Interactive Adobe Form and Portal thing and i really dont know from where to start.
We have one central system and 2 local systems. when we do create a Material document using adobe form workflow should trigger and notification should go to group of users who can approve or reject it, once they approve it document gets created in central system and replicated to 2 local system through ALE.
In the Local system they do extend the document to different plants, again workflow triggers and notification will go to Managers inbox for the approval.
Once the final approval done data should go and store in SAP.
Now here i have couple of Questions.
1. In SAP R3 Business workflow when i execute the workitem from the inbox i do get the application screen ( i.e. MM01 MRP View ) , what is going to happen if the same case i have with Adobe form?? is it possible or do we have to design a adobe form and we will have to map the fields with backend application??
2. Do i have to maintained 3 separate Org Structure for 3 different system or using UWL i can manage the show
3. Untill final submit is not done, where the application data is going to be, is there any kind of buffer that we will have to keep it or its there with XML file??
Please help me out.

Welcome to ADOBE Forms related Workflow Development. Well, here are my answers.
1) You can go for either go for ISR based development or WD development with Adobe form. In both the cases you can achieve your requirement. Yes, you will have to design the Adobe form and bind the fields to backend.
2) Am not clear or your System landscape to advice you in these regards.
3) Until final Submit/Approval is done, the data can be stored in WORKFLOW CONTAINERS or XML FORM(If you go for ISR based Development).

How to have multi select dropdowns for web request and adobe forms

Hi All,
I am working on interactive forms for CRM 7.0 using web request and ZCI layout.
When I say web request we define the fields required for the form in CRM that becomes the context for WDA and passed onto Adobe form.
This web request is a flat structure which mean if I have a node and attributes with in that you cant have multiple values to wards this node as in WDA.
Now My query:
I have a field called "xyz" since web request is a flat structure i just defined it as a string.
In WDA I made it a enumrated field and added key value pairs to it.
In Adobe form I binded this field to a WD native enum dropdown list every thing is fine untill here.
Now in the form I need this as a multiple select, so i changed the dropdown field to list box it works.
The form has to be submitted as a draft version when did so, it will not execute any APIs but saves the data to the web request.
When the same form is opened for the next time, with the data in web request it should reopen this field with the multiple seleced values high lighted.
since the field xyz is a single filed of string, how can i maintain multiple values in that...?
if there is a form status auto save function in Adobe form this might solve a bit but not sure when the form is opened 2nd time from web reqest view does it consider it as a new one or open the same form...?
I have such dropdown fields and problems including ones with depenedt values on one another.
I tried my best to explain the problem, if somebody can help me with this its much appriciated.
Note: Since this is dependent on CRM web request I am posting the same query in that block also apologies if this mean a duplicacy.

Iterating & processing a enumrated dropdown is like any other dropdown /list box in adobe forms.

Cannot Read user input on Adobe Form .

Hi team,
Can you please go through the issue -
Developed Interactive Adobe form. Called by webdynpro application.
Interactive properties enable, display type - native, with pdfsource, template source and data source cleanly populated.
Submit button is webdynpro native with option CLICK and corresponding code selected in ADOBE FORM.
All the elements in adobe forms cleanly binded and checked more than 10 times to avoid any mistakes or wrong bindings.
Event handler code is written for submit button to read the data eneted by user on adobe form.
lo_el_zleaver_form->get_static_attributes(

User is able to enter data on adobe form and control is comming to Submit button code but i am not able to read the user input with above code.
BASIS has check and confirmed that license is installed properly. I am using adobe reader 9 and adobe designer 8.2 and will ECC version 6.0 . Basis has confirmed the ADS configuration, Java stack and ABAP stack are compatible.
We are using the ADS from SAP NetWeaver 7.01 (EhP1, Java Stack) in

Help - WDJ can't read the context bind to adobe form after upgrade version

previously i have the webdynpro java application with adobe form, it works fine when i use Adobe Reader 7.0 but after i upgrade my Adobe Reader to 8.1... all the context bind to the adobe form cannot be read anymore.. any idea?? please advice. thank you..I am using Adobe live cycle designer 7.1 thanks

You have to go in the following sequence:
Uninstall Adobe Reader 7 & ACF -> Install Adobe Reader 8 -> Install ACF
Hopefully it will work.

Binding the UI element to the table in Adobe form

HI all,
        I am working in Adobe Form.The form contains attributes like name,address,country,etc..
       In the same form i`ve created a table with all these attribute as a coloumn header.
      when the user click the submit button the data which i enetered in the attributes like name,address,country,etc should be populated in the corresponding coloumns in the table with out hitting the data base..help me plz..thanx in advance...

you can just put some code behind those fields (or behind a button) to copy the .rawvalue from one field to the other.

Error in Simple Adobe Form

It is Simple Adobe Form with two fields(Firstname and Last name ) not table. I am getting UI Interactive form but not getting PDF. I am using NWDS 7.0.15 and Adobe Live Cycle Designer 7.1.

Hi Risha,
In NWDS Web Dynpro perspective, when you create a project, you will be able to create an InteractiveForm UI Element in any view. You need to set the 'datasource' property to some context node with attributes. You open the Adobe Designer for this InteractiveForm UI Element by choosing the context menu option 'Edit'. You can create some form elemnts for it by dragging the attributes of the binded datasource node from 'Data View' to the form preview area. When you build, deploy & run your application after this, you get this form in the browser. You can now save this form as pdf.

Communication problem between Adobe Form and WebDynpro

Hi all,
I have the following problem and am thankful for any help I can get from you in order to solve it:
I created an Adobe Form in WebDynpro. In both the WebDynpro as well as in the Adobe Form, I created a Submit Button (which I binded to the same method) as well as a text field (which I binded to the same context attribute). When I do changes in WebDynpro, everything works fine and the changes are displayed in the Adobe Form as well.
But when I do changes in the Adobe Form, these changes are not submitted. Also the Submit button in the Adobe Form is not working.
I send the project to a colleague and she could deploy and run my project without any problems. So I think it is a problem with my settings or installation. I already did a reinstallation of the NW Developer Studio as well as the Adobe Lifecycle Designer. But it did not help.
Did anyone have a similar problem or has a suggestions what else I could do?

Hi Thorsten,
If the submit button doesn't do anything, it usually means there's something wrong with your client software.
Are you using NW04s or NW04? NW04 only supports ACF (Active Component Framework) forms, whereas NW04s also supports ZCI (Zero Client Installation) forms (there're different Submit buttons in Adobe LiveCycle Designer). Reader 7.0.9 should definitely work in all cases, but Reader 8.0 (and Reader 8.1, released yesterday) doesn't work properly with ACF forms (there's an SAP note on this subject).
To use ZCI forms, all you need is Adobe Reader at client side. To use ACF forms, you also need some other client software: either (the correct version!) SAP Active Component Framework (stand alone software that you can download from SAP Marketplace; it's part of some SAP note; search for xACF and select the correct version of the note). A better option is not to install xACF manually (uninstall it if present, using Control Panel > Add/Remove programs), but to use the ActiveX control instead (reinstall it in your case because of the problem you have). First kill the AcroRd32.exe process, if it is running. Then go to "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files" and delete the file AdobeControl(s) (NW04) or AcfControls (something similar; NW04s) if present. Then access your form in your Web Dynpro application using IE (Firefox doesn't support ActiveX; the only option is to use ZCI forms with non-IE browsers). If all goes well, prior to displaying the form, IE should ask to install an ActiveX control (it will only be asked if you have sufficient privileges, that is belong to the local Administrators group).

If it is just a one word value then you could use this in the exist event;
this.rawValue
= util.printx(">?<*",this.rawValue);
This changes the first character (represented by the ?) to uppercase (represented by the >) and all trailing characters (represented by the *) to lowercase (represented by the <).
If you wanted something more general ... if they could also enter a middle name then you could call a function like;
function toTitleCase(textValue)
return textValue.toLowerCase().replace(/\b[a-z]/g, function replacer(match) { return match.toUpperCase(); });
This uses a regex to change all lowercase letters following a word boundary to uppercase.

Adobe form from webdynpro : Getting a single row in the table

I have a scenario in which I have to create a adobeform from webdynpro application.
I have created the form and have the context designed in place.
I am facing a problem in the table I have in my adobeform.
I am adding rows to this table dynamically using a button using "addInstance"
Now on the webdynpro side , when I try to read this table I get a single row from this table.
This row is always the first row of that table.
I checked the following things from blog   /people/juergen.hauser2/blog/2006/09/12/avoiding-common-mistakes-when-using-tables-on-sap-interactive-forms , i.e. :
Cardinality of the node.
Tick on the option "Repeat Row for Each Data Item".
But still no success.

I had found this link before and used the same solution , but unfortunately is taking a long time.
Now what I am doing is :
1. I append 10 rows into the table then bind it to the node
2. Then on the adobe form I have removed the check on "Add row for each line item" because of which it shows only 1 row
     on the form.
     Now I add rows dynamically, but this puts a limit on the number of rows can be added to the table i.e. 10.
But this again has added problems like while displaying the form or modifying I hav to handle it seperately and cannot use the same form as it is.( as I have removed the tick for "Add row for each line item" ).

I am using a drop down list in Adobe Interactive Form for Web Dynpro ABAP.
The form is of ZCI type layout and the form interface is of XML schema-based interface type and the XML schema source is set to "Generated".
I have included the following code in WDDOINIT method of the view:
data: handle1 type ref to if_wd_context_node,
begin of zstruct,
zktokd type kna1-ktokd,
end of zstruct,
zitab type table of zsttxecr.
handle1 = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'DATA.NODE1' ).
select ktokd from kna1 into corresponding fields of zstruct.
append zstruct to zitab.
endselect.
handle1->bind_table( new_items = zitab ).
In the Adobe Form Designer, i have binded the node NODE1 to the enumerated drop down list from native web dynpro library. Still the drop down box is not getting populated.
Please let me know what is missing.
