Adobe Forms On Portal

Hi Experts,
My requirement is i need to create the interactive adobe form and this adobe form is finally accessed through portal and there are some approval process involved in this scenario. Now my doubt is do i need to create the adobe form through webdynpro stack or can i create the form and interface directly in transaction "SFP". If i create the form using SAP GUI is it possible to access such forms through portal. I need your suggestions and comments on this.
Finally my doubt is can we access the interactive adobe forms  which are developed in transaction "SFP" through portal, and my print program also exists in the ABAP editor which has logic to fetch and display the data into adobe forms.
or do we need web dynpro application to access the interactive adobe form  through portal.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Venkat

Anto,
Thanks for the info, actual my requirment is when ever user login into portal he will find list of purchase orders then in the object work list(OWL). He will choose one record and click edit button then the adobe form corresponding to that purchase order should open in edit mode, now here my question is how can  my print program in SAP GUI know that the user has choosen particular purchase order, i will fetch the data based on my selection criteria and i can display data according to that, but how can i display the data in edit mode when the user has choosen some record from OWL.
For example : if user selects purchase order 123  from object work list then the same purchase order 123 header and item details should open in the adobe form in edit mode. If my application is developed in SAP GUI side then how can my application program fetch the data related to pirchase order 123 in portal. When i write an ABAP program i will write the logic to fetch and display the data according to my selection criteria, i am unware of what is happening at protal side how can one map my selection criteria details to the record selected in object work list, is this possible , if not what is the alternative way. kindly suggest
For such type of requirement, what exactly need to be done either web dynpro interactive form or SAP GUI interactive form.
Or both scenario's also possible. Kindly suggest.
How can we achieve this using web dynpro application or SAP GUI application.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Venkat

  • Integrating Offline adobe form in Portal

    Hi All,
I created offline adobe form using SFP tcode.
This form needs to be integrated in Portal. When user logs in, he/she should be able to open this form.
Can offline adobe form can be integrate to portal directly? or do we need to create the Webdynpro applications only for poral?
Please let me know whether we can integarate offline adobe form to portal directly. If not why?.. I don't know about portal.
    Thank you!
    Prasad

    Hi Deepika,
This discussion thread is all about integrating a WebDynpro application which contains adobe form into portal.
I assume your requirement is different which needs to upload an offline adobe form into portal.
There are documents available to explain this functionality in detail. Please note down the following.
    1) For uploading adobe form should be XML schema based.
    2) There should be a webdynpro application with uploader UI element which has been integrated into the portal.
    3) On form upload, you will get all the data associated with the form within webdynpro
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Adobe Forms in Portal

    <u><i><b>Adobe Forms in Portal</b></i></u>
    <i>Manager Self Service:</i>
Say suppose i want to integrate "Change Personnel Area and Sub Area" into Portal:
I can deploy the MSS Business Package in Portal & with the appropriate iviews installed i can access "Change Personnel Area and Sub Area" in Portal.
The above thing works without any issues.
I have ads configured, acf & adobe lifecycle designer installed -- config tests are successfull for some sample webdynpro applications.
    <i>
    NEW Requirement:</i>
Users want to see the same "Change Personnel Area and Sub Area (ISR_FORM_SPPA, ISR_IF_SPPA) " in Portal as adobe interactive forms.
Can you tell me where i have to start to accomplish the above task?
Any insight on the below stuff would be higly appreciated and rewarded.
    1)?backend tcode sfp?
    2)?web dynpro java?
    3)?business package Enterprise Portals?
    Thanks in Advance,
    RK.

    Hi RK,
We had a similar requirement and we used Web Dynpro for Java which contained the Interactive Form that would display the personnel area, personnel sub area, etc.
We developed a custom application in WD Java which would accept entries from the user on each screen after clicking on the Change Personnel area link in the portal. The user would put in the values and when the user would click on the Submit button, an adobe form would be displyed which would show the existing values as well as the values the user newly entered.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if you need any further inputs.

  • Getting special character while saving adobe form from portal

    Hi All,
I am getting Special character while saving adobe form. I am using webdynpro java application, in which I am using download file UI element. We are facing this issue after support packs were implemented in staging system.
    Kindly advise.

    Hi,
We have ABAP system as backend system seperately and Single sign on is configured.
when we access the portal with domain name line http://hostname.domain/52000/irj/portal, we are able to access the adobe form which is develope on abap system without any issue.
but our issue started when we are trying to access portal only with hostname as http://hostname:52000/irj/portal
we are able to login to portal but when we are trying to open the adobe form we are getting error
No switch to HTTPS occurred, so it is not secure to send a password
Since you have configured SSL, I assume that this configuration is done with fully qualified hotsname. Hence the certificate is generated based on this hostname.
Now when you access your portal without typing fully qualified hostname, system is unable to locate a relevant certificate. Hence it lands up with a message "No switch to HTTPS occurred, so it is not secure to send a password"
    Hope this answers your query

  • Offline ADOBE form on Portal

    Hi All,
We have developed offiline ADOBE forms using ABAP (not in dynpro). Now we want to put this forms or deploy these formal on portal.
Any idea how this can be done. Do we need to use NWDS to upload these forms or can they uploaded using Iviews.
    Regards
    Shakti

    Hi Shakti,
If you are using ECC 6.0 then you can use WD ABAP to deploy it to portal and if its below ECC 6.0 then use NWDS and develop a WD Java application. In case some portal workflow is required and you don't want to use Web Dynpro then you can use Guided Procedures on Portal to use your form for offline scenario in which a mail with pdf form as an attachment is sent to the user, user fills it and sends back to the sender's ID and the GP will automatically read the contents of the form to process it into R/3 database.

    Vaibhav.

  • How to Connect Adobe form to Portal

    hi sdn friends,
How to connect R/3 Adobe form to the Enterprise Portal / Smart form to the Enterprise Portal
    plz help me
    thank u,
    praveen.

    That depends...
If you need to display MSS forms into your portal, plz have a look at the Business Package for MSS. Interactive forms are presented in the portal via the ISRForm application (and PCRApplication).
If you need to display your custom made forms into the portal, you can develop your own WebDynpro application that embeds the Adobe Interactive form.
Could you explain more about your requirements?
    Cheers,
    Noë

In Editor Expert tab, go to Edit menu>Preferences>General, and check "Allow Floating Documents in full edit mode." This should allow you to tile or cascade.

  • Adobe forms and portal

we are using adobe forms to open and print appraisals in ess. When we click on print appraisal, adobe does not open up, i have checked connections and they look fine. We get a time out error and it looks like it is pointing to the web dispatcher OFCOMTOLS026_EWX_01
the server is ofcomtols026, EWX is the dispatcher, should the portal be pointing to this in the ERP system, where is this setup to point to this?
    Any help would be great

    Subha:
Your PDFs can be generated in ADS on Portal or ECC systems. From what you describe it looks like in your case it is ADS on ECC and there is a web dispatcher, doing load balancing of HTTP connects for ECC J2EE engine. In this case web dispatcher is a correct destination.
    My recommendation for the troubleshooting:
    1. Make sure ADS forms generated OK by accessing one of the ECC app servers directly. If Adobe form is not generated, check ADS settings. Here is a nice doc:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f03414f8-d4ce-2a10-d4b6-ab201b329d98
    2. Once Adobe Form is verified, check access via Web Dispatcher. It is possible that its permission table does not allow ADS urls.
    Jaya:
You should not be able to connect the portal to a webdispatcher. Only browsers talk via webdispatcher.
I am sorry, but this is not true. Web dispatcher can route pretty much any TCP/IP protocol. In most cases it is used for routing HTTP/S (not only for browsers), but it can transfer a binary format as well. One time I even used web dispatcher to do port forwarding for Microsoft WTS.

  • Adobe forms with portal

    Hi All,
For Adobe forms I understand that portal is not required. So what is the advantage/disadvantage of using portal in conjunction with Adobe forms? The pro/con for both approaches – with or without portal?
Please let me know if anyone is having some idea or can provide me some link where I can find required information.
    Regards,
    Lavanya.

    Hi Lavanya,
A portal is a different tool. It allows you to offer a centralized, secure, role-based and web-based access to your applications, backends, services etc. For more information, check http://service.sap.com/nw-ep.
An interactive form can be embedded in a portal page or iView and so can act, in online mode, as an input screen, or as a display screen. The form itself must not be seen as an heavy application, it's more a screen containing some logic.
Don't hesitate if you have additional questions,
    Regards,
    Francois

  • Adobe Forms in Portal and the standard Code of Conduct

    Hi All,
We have ECC6 Portal 7 Adobe Reader 7.0.8 Adobe Lifecycle and its all working.
    - In R3, I have Copied the standard scenario SECC in QISSCENARIOS to ZECC
    - In R3, Changed and activate the form and interface there or in SFP
    - In the Portal, I can copy either the Code of Conduct iView or the IsrForm iView.
    - Now the ISR Cookbook says that i must add 'PCD parameters scenario and mode'...but it doesn't say what to add them to or what the format is. Or what the values of mode might be. My scenario is called ZECC to I have tried putting scenario=ZECC into the Application Parameters of the iView and into the Parameters to Pass from Page of the iView. NOTHING.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jimmy.

    Hi,
Well,I think you have done the required stuff from ECC side. But now for EP side, you got to create a new <b>Java Webdynpro IView</b> with the following Details...
    NameSpace : <b>sap.com/pcui_gp~isr</b>
    Application Name : <b>IsrForm</b>
    Application Parameters : <b>SCENARIO=ZECC&MODE=CREATE&sap.xss.disablehdr=True</b>
    And test the IView individually.
Let us know if it still gives you some problem.

  • Temporarily disable ADS Adobe Forms in Portal

    Hi,
We have the requirement to temporarily disable one or two of our ADS Adobe Interactive Forms in the Portal.   We are on ECC6EHP3 and NW/EP 7.0.  When a MSS user logs into the portal and goes to select which forms to process, we have about 6 forms in total, however at this time, we only want 4 of those 6 to appear in the list.
Is there a simple way to disable these forms from appearing in the Select Process list?
    Regards,
    Chris

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick response.
Not a bad option although the users will find the Java dump confusing.
Is there any way for the forms not to appear on the list even though they exist on the backend?
    Regards,
    Chris

  • Adobe Form returns IE error in Portal

In NW7/ECC6 we are using ESS 50.4.  When trying to open the Benefits Confirmation Form, a custom Adobe form, the portal returns an Internet Explorer error message - Error in Generating the Form.
Has anyone had the problem and solved it?  Any assistance would be appreciated.  The form is supposed to be live next week.
    Thanks,
    D. Maupin

    Hi,
probably ADS has some problems with generating your form. Usually there is an error log file on the server. Try to check it <DIR_GLOBAL>\AdobeDocumentServices\renderErrorLog\errorFiles. It may help you with finding the problem. Check also OSS note 944221. It's a general note about troubleshooting of Adobe forms. It contains links to additional helpful notes as well.
    Cheers
