Adobe Reader displays text incorrectly as a thin grainy font

Adobe Reader displays text incorrectly as a thin grainy font. How do I fix it?

I think I counted three tabbed panels in the markup, each with an ID of TabbedPanels1
You have only one constructor that makes one instance of the tabeed panels with an ID of TabbedPanels1
There are a couple of things that create the problem.
There can only be one ID with the same name in a document, thus the ID's of the TabbedPanels will need to change from TabbedPanels1 for the second and third instances to TabbedPanels2 and TabbedPanels3 (or similar) respectively.
There needs to be a constructor for each tabbed panels like
var TabbedPanels1 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels1");
var TabbedPanels2 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels2");
var TabbedPanels3 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels3");

  • Adobe Reader displaying PDF's incorrectly

I have created a pdf file using Apple Pages. When this file is opened using Apple Preview is displays correctly. When I open it using a browers (Safari or Chrome) it displays correctly. If I open tye file using Adobe Reader on either a Mac or PC the fonts are all jaggie & incorrectly kerned. Printing the file from Adobe Reader results in a perfect print. Any thoughts?

Are you sure you aren't just seeing the preview of the PDF in the email body? If so, all you will see is the first page. You would have to open the PDF to see the rest of the pages.
Email the PDF to yourself, save it to your desktop, then open it. Are all the pages there?
If it actually IS turning in to a .jpg (offhand I can't think of any reason it would) then it's something your email client is doing.

  • Form is filled on iPad then emailed.  If form is opened with Adobe Reader all text is visible, but if opened with Acrobat XI no text is visible.

Form filled on ipad.  When opened with Adobe Reader all text is visible, but if opened with Acrobat XI no text is visible- form is blank.   Have been using this system for months with  no problems.

That suggestion makes sense and likely works, but only if the user is on a machine that will allow them to use Reader. I'm sending this out to a lot of teachers, who are using machines either at school, or are school-issued machines, and they don't have the admin privileges to install software-- even Reader.
so my problem is, if they are stuck on a machine without Reader, and without the possibility of having Reader... it's just not going to work because Preview can't handle these functions.
And, since that is not an acceptable answer with what I'm trying to do... I will find another way to create/submit forms. I think there are some online possibilities I will have to make work.
    very, very disappointing and frustrating.

  • Adobe Reader 9 Text selection with "." (dot) symbol

    Hello,
My name is Ilya and I have a problem that have been bothering me since Adobe Reader permit text selection.
    So the problem:
When I want to select a word in the text, I usually make a double click on the word I want to select. But if this word is in the end of the sentence, Adobe Reader also selects "." symbol. I.e., instead of "peace", Adobe Reader selected "peace." - It is pretty uncomfortable because I have to delete this "." symbol after copy/past.
    Thank you
    -Ilya

Yes, in this case I have to use "normal" selection. But double-click selection much more faster than "normal" and it would be great if Adobe developers can fix this bug.

  • Adobe Reader display page and text in tool bar and options too large.  How can this be reduced?

My Adobe Reader (ver. XI) page for viewing and manipulating docs and the text in tool bar and menus is too large and I cannot reduce its size.   I cannot add but a few functions on the tool bar without them reverting to the drop down.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe XI and that has not helped.  Do not have this problem with other software so I know its not the resolution settings of computer.
Any way to reduce the size of the "viewing page" and its text?  I can change the size of the doc I am viewing but not the items of the page that displays the doc.
    Thanks.

  • Why is Adobe Reader displaying predominantly in B&W?

While setting up a different XP computer (Dell 430 with XP SP3) I found certain PDF documents were not displaying with proper colors.  Were mainly in B&W with just a little color.  The same file displays properly with various versions of Adobe Reader on other computers.
A file that would not display properly is (London Tube Map).
    http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/standard-tube-map.pdf
I've uploaded a JPEG of what the bad display looks like - If you know the London Underground map you will see the problem!
Problem exists when viewing as an Internet Explorer 7.0 plug-in or with downloaded version of same file.
I checked all Reader preference settings particulary Accessibility - all seem the same as on a working computer
I updated Reader from 8.1.3 to 9.2 - problem remains.
    I uninstalled / re-installed Reader - problem remains
I updated my Intel GMA graphics driver - problem remains
    Any idea? - Thanks

    Thanks Michael.
    Problem remains.
I have plenty of RAM an Disk space.
I have tried turning off graphics acceleration - Display Properties - Settings - Advanced - Troubleshoot - None + disabled Write Combining all to no effect.
I had have the latest Dell supported 945GM Graphics driver.  However, I did download and install a much newer driver directly from Intel.  Intially got message to say 'this driver not validated for my computer', but did a work around using an 'install from disk procedure'.
New driver works but the PDF display problem remains as before.
I then deinstalled and reinstalled Adopbe Reader 9.2 yet again, but still problem remains.
    Anyone got any further suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Why won't adobe reader show text?

I am working for my eagle scout rank and in order to do my service project, a form must be filled out on the computer as a pdf. I started the PDF on my old dell, and i downloaded Adobe reader for my mac to finish it. For preview, it takes the lines of the paragraph and overlaps the words, rendering it unreadable, and for adobe reader, the words are invisible unless editing those words. when the text box isnt selected the words disappear. Why isnt this working and is there a setting i can change to fix this?

    Minicooper7 wrote:

Difficult to say without further details. The fact that both Preview and Adobe Reader have difficulties with it suggests that the file itself may be corrupt—or that you have fonts issues on your Mac.
You need to isolate the problem. Download another PDF file and check if it shows any anomalies. Gather info on the problem file; eg, in Preview, use Inspector (Tools > Show Inspector) and check PDF version, content creator, and PDF creator.

  • Adobe Reader displaying strange characters

Hello! I am writing my uni task. For that I downloaded a .pdf document from my university, which has text boxes for me to fill in. I do not know how/with which program this file was created. I first tried dealing with it using the Windows 8 Reader app. Several times, when I switched from the document to the Desktop and back, all my text was converted into strange characters. I started saving the document before switching, and this seemed to solve the problem at first. But then at some point I saved and closed it, and when I opened it the next time, only the box I modified last (with an essay) was converted into strange characters. When I copy it somewhere, the text does not appear. I tried opening the thing with Adobe Reader. It does not convert anything into weird symbols, but the ones from the previous time remain. Is there any way I can get the information back?

  • Adobe Reader - Italic texts appears as Regular

    Hi,
In earlier, I had an issue in print PDF documents using Adobe Reader wherein all Italic texts are printed as Regular. I found the below link from Adobe and upgraded the version I am using and the issue were fixed.
    Can't print italics | Mouseover problems | Acrobat 10.1.1 or 9.4.6 update
Currently, I am using Version 11.0.07, under Macintosh and I come through the same issue. The case is that, I have created 10 PDF documents from a single application (say Chapter wise), in which 7 of them prints well whereas in 3 of PDFs, Italic texts printed as Roman. Is that a bug in the Reader?

Before anything else, try updating to 11.0.09.
