Adobe Reader XI hangs on "receiving data" after submitting to php

I am submitting PDF fillable form to php, then pdf is save & email to destination. It works, I receive the pdf filled file via email; However, in Safari works perfect redirects, etc. When using FireFox, Chrome, then Adobe Reader opens.
Then when submitting from Adobe Reader, it works fine, I receive the email with attachment.
The problem is that Adobe Reader hangs "receiving data" for a long time, then I get this message "An error occurred during the submit process. The network service you are trying to reach could not process the request."
I do get the file via email and it is fine. What is Adobe Reader waiting for?.
Thanks in advance

I do not think it is returning anything, here is the php code ...
<?php

copy('php://input',"pdfs/".$fileatt); // Copies the pdf form data to a folder named pdfs

  • Adobe Reader XI hangs/ unresponsive for v long after clicking text comment

    Hi There,
I have just downloaded the new version of Adobe reader. all is well, when you first open a file, but it hangs and become irresponsive when the insert text comment button is pressed.
Also, No two files can be opened on adobe reader the same time, the programe just hangs and becomes unresponsive.
I have downloaded the version and reinstalled thrice.
Thank you and I appreciate you help alot.

The "new version" being what version?  On what operating system?

  • Adobe reader not open the file immediately after saving it  with Microsoft Office

I have an older version Adobe Reader 9, and worked fine until today. I did the upgrade to Adobe Reader XI (11.0.06).
I have Window´s Office 2010 on my computer. When I save a document on *pdf file, Adobe starts automatically and open the document (Open file after publishing.) After the upgrade, documents are not open automatically and shows the next message:  "There was an error  during initialization. An internal error ocurrred." and  "There was an error opening this document. Access denied.". But if I try manually, files are open. How do I fix this problem.

I'm having a similar issue.  The .pdf files open fine locally, but when I put them up online, they will not open and I get the same error message.  If I download and save the files, they show a 1KB file size instead of 168KB.
Drive space is not an issue (looking at over 225GB of free space on the main drive).
In searching on-line, the main cause I am finding is receiving the file via e-mail and a decoding issue.  This is not the case with these files as they were created on my machine and uploaded using Filezilla to the server.  I'm using Acrobat Pro 7.0 on a windows box running Vista Ultimate.
Any ideas on what would be causing this issue?

  • Adobe Reader X Hanging

    Hi All,
We have recently upgraded Adobe Reader 9 to X(300+ Systems) and facing hanging issue opening/saving in network. Also not able to close using Taskmanager/Proccess until logging of the system. We have tried disabling 'Protected mode' also not works.
Is there any solution to avoid this issue?
System details: Windows XP SP3, Office Scan Antivirus Software, Adobe Reader X Update 1
    Thanks,

This happens only when saving the pdf after adding comments. Pdfs are comment enabled using Acrobat 8/9 Professional and comments are marked using Reader X Update 1.

    Dear Pat,

  • In Adobe Reader (v11.0.09) locked/froze after signing and can't access my full fill-in answers to edit

In Adobe Reader (v11.0.09), after answer application questions in scrolling window panes within a .pdf doc, I signed the doc, and it froze/locked, so I cannot edit or view the full answers anymore.  On an ugent deadline, so any thoughts on how to re-access my full answers within the scrolling window panes in a .pdf doc? thanks!

    Hi Paix,
It is normal once you sign a document it considered to be a complete of yours. So no one shouldnt make any change after you signed the documents gets locked.
You can get idea from this doc: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-lock-form-fields-using-a-digital-signature

  • Adobe Reader XI hangs Internet Explorer!

We support several clients and as each PC upgrades to Adobe Reader XI it breaks the IE Add-On (view in browser) capability.
The pdf starts to download, pops up in the browser, and then in about 5-10 seconds hangs until it times out (45 minutes later).
IE then throws up the error "A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?"
If the user downloads the pdf it works; if the user uses Chrome or FF it works!  Have tried disabling the "Fast View".  It just then allows me to see when it stops downloading.
I have tried Windows XP, Win7 & Win8 and different versions of IE and they all fail!
I am seeing this across all my clients!
Sometimes, if I disable the Add-on it will then download and open it in Adobe Reader but sometimes (haven't figured out the exact combination but IE9 & Win 7 fails) even though it's disabled, it still opens it in the browser and hangs.
I created a GPO that disables the Add-n but it continues to try to open it in the IE browser.
    Help!

We've been testing this some more, and we've discovered our problem. We have a Xerox global print driver installed on our computers that runs our printer.
If we take a file created in the Microsoft Suite, whether Word or Excel, and print to PDF through the print driver, and then upload that file to a website and provide a link in a page for people to click, the PDF throws an error in Internet Explorer, giving the error listed above, and fails to open. The PDF opens fine locally through Internet Explorer, and you can view the file through the "View" option in Gmail. You can also view that file in Firefox and Chrome with no problem. And the file downloads just fine.
If we take the same file and use the "Save As" option in the Microsoft program to save the file as a PDF and upload that to a website, the file opens just fine in Internet Explorer, as well we everywhere else.
The print driver is doing something in the PDF-making process that bothers Internet Explorer.

  • Adobe reader won't open on iPad after recent update

After most recent update, adobe reader won't open on my iPad. I have lots of docs that I need to get to. Please help.

This forum is probably the best you can do. We're now on the weekend, and Adobe engineers don't work 24/7. When they return on Monday and see the reports, they'll work to fix it. The update will need to be submitted to Apple and then approved for an update.
Note that there are other apps on the App Store which can read PDFs.

  • Adobe Reader XI 11.0.03 Freezes After 3 Seconds!

I can't seem to open any PDF files, either in Firefox or from the program itself. I've already tried the recommended solution below and it didn't help at all. So how do I fix this?
    Three things to try...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

Reader and Acrobat Pro freeze on my system for nearly 30 seconds after opening a PDF in either one. I chalk it up to the fact that it's a six year old PC with a 32 bit processor and only 2GB of RAM running Windows 7.  After the freeze, I can view or edit PDFs just fine.
Does it eventually unfreeze or does it just "lock up" and stay that way?

  • Is Adobe Reader 10.1.3 still usable after install of Adobe XI ?

    Good Evening:
This Evening , I downloaded Adobe Reader XI (122.00 MB).
I just finished using it to print copies of my bank statement, succesfully, after a week of trying to resolve a no print
problem of same. I still have Adobe Reader 10.1.3 (117.00 MB) but can't remove it from my list of active programs as it
blocks removal. Is it still usefull now that I have Adobe reader XI ?
Thank You for Your earl;y reply to my question,
                              Respectfully,      Reg Wilkins.

    Hello Again:
I followed Your instructions to download and open Acrobat uninstall tool
and I reviewed the comprehensive removal information.
The removal info showed clearly that 10.1.3 was indeed  removed.
However when I returned to Add & Remove Programs, to verify if the 10.1.3
reader was gone, I found it was still there. I tried to remove it but again the
"Patch cannot be opened"  message popped up and I'm still plagued with
this 10.1.3 Reader which refuses to uninstall.
Is there another way this 10.1.3 Reader can be helped on it's way?
                            Respectfully, Reg. Wilkins

  • Adobe reader app takes longer to launch after update, why?

After updating my adobe reader I have found that when every I try to launch the app it takes a significantly longer time to load then it used to. Is this the problem with the app itself or is it because I have updated my ipad to the newer ios system, ios 7?
    Thanks.

Android 4.4 (KitKat) introduced big changes to SD card support.
Android KitKat Blocks Some Access to Micro SD Cards
You can find many other articles regarding the SD card problem by searching on the internet.
We will be investigating the problem.
To work around the problem in the meantime, could you copy some of the PDF files from your SD card to internal storage (e.g. /storage/emulated/0/...) and see if Adobe Reader can read from and write changes to PDF files on your internal storage.  (It should work based on my limited testing. But please verify it.)
You can use any Android File Manager app to move/copy files.  Samsung phones and tablets typically has "My Files" as the built-in File Manager.
Alternatively, you can transfer the PDF files to Acrobat.com (free cloud storage service) and access them from Adobe Reader.
Please let us know if any of the suggested approaches work for you.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Moreover, this update is experiencing repeatedly.
Need root cause and  please suggest solution ?

    Solved it!
    1-go to "edit", select Preferences.
2-select from the left pane: Security (enhanced)
3-click on "add folder path" button just below the big white box
4-pick a folder of your choice and click "ok". (your selected folder path will appear in that white box above the "add folder path" button in step 3)
5-if you want to add additional folders, just repeat steps 3 & 4
6-once you are done, click "ok" on the preferences screen and click "ok" again to accept the changes.
Yes, it seems illogical, but it worked.
I tested by closing the Reader (X), then surfed the web and did what Neher5 was explaining he/she wanted to do just after opening a pdf from a website and lo-and-behold,  it worked!. No more "save to temp folder" issues.
    Hope this helps.

  • Adobe Reader XI Hang up problem

How do you fix hang ups when you open adobe reader XI (11.0.03)?  When I click on the adobe button the program comes up but no further action can be done as the hour glass just keeps on rotating until the "end this session" error message comes up.

  • How can you disable Adobe Reader from opening a file right after you save it as a pdf?

    Hi,
I often save word files as pdf files and right after I save them as pdfs it opens the file in adobe reader. How can I disable this?
    Thanks

Ahh, but that's the design function of any PDF viewer add-on to a browser.
To avoid -- Use the browser feature that saves a file to the local machine.
Then open the file with the appropriate application.
If your machine/device does not support this then you'd want to change to one that supports what you want eh.
    Be well...
