AdobeLibraryAPI - Develop on desktop browsers before testing on mobile devices.

Hello guys,
According to these tutorials[1] [2], to run apps on desktop browsers it's necessary to remove the adobe api script from HTML. That was ok until I had to develop authentication features and stuff out of the fulfillment XML feed scope.
I've tried to remove bridge protocol from Library api, but doing so I couldn't execute the adobeDPS.authenticationService.login transaction.
So I'm thinking to mock the api methods to return fake static data. Is there a better approach to run my apps on desktop before testing on iOS devices?

The update will not load. I have even tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling.

Flash Builder 4.7 Unit Tests for Mobile Devices

I am trying to setup a simple unit test using Flash Builder 4.7. I created a Test Suite and a Test Case class.
Using the menu, I select Run > Run. I see options to select which Test Case / Methods I'd like to run.
But the strange thing is, next I have to select a launch configuration. I'd assume it would just launch in some console window and give me test results. I did what I could and have it setup to run on the AIR simulator for a XOOM device. Nothing happens I just see a blank screen with a blank bar at the top.
I've also tried right clicking the project and choosing execute flexunit tests. My FlexUnit Resulst still says 0/0.
What is the launch configuration I need to use to execute the test cases and get the results?

I solved it! After looking at example code on google, I realized that the s:ViewNavigatorApplication was missing two key options:
firstView="flexunit.flexui.FlexUnitTestRunnerUIMobile"
firstViewData="{getFirstViewData()}"
Thankfully I was able to derive this. It makes 0 since to me why this wouldn't be added to the automatically generated mxml file but the functions it utalizes does. This to me seems like a defect. If you'd like people to use automatically generated files, make sure they are functional.

How come I dont get any junk email on my desktop computer, but on my mobile device I get them? Some messages that go to junk shouldnt.

On my desktop I have junk folders but there is never any mail in there. On my iphone i get messages in my junk folders. Sometimes messages that I want to keep are in the junk folder.

Most likely you use POP for your desktop, and IMAP for your phone.
The provider's spam filter classifies messages as junk and puts them into the junk folder on the server. That's what you see on your phone.
With your desktop you have no visibility of the junk folder on the server.
You'd need to adjust filtering on the server if that is possible at all. Otherwise checking for false positives is your best bet.
Alternatively you could setup your account as IMAP on the desktop as well and let Thunderbird do all the spam filtering.

Cannot delete the checkbox for Master Password - desktop synced with mobile device - is the password for that what is needed on the desktop?

Re-installed Firefox 4 recently after initial problems with Rapport software. Now get a box to enter a master password to proceed - just close it but it is annoying. Visited Options and under Security unchecked the Master Password box but another warning box appears and when this is closed the Master Password box is re-checked. I have never created a Master Password. My desktop is synced with my mobile device and I have a password for that - is this the master password? If not, what other options are there for stopping this box appearing when Firefox is activated?

The name and password for Firefox Sync and the Sync key are stored in the Password Manager.<br />
So if you use Sync then you will get a Master Password prompt the first time that Sync wants to connect to the Sync server.

There are a couple of ways you could do this. Bluetooth communication is available on a few J2ME devices, so you could do it through that. Or you could set up a servlet on the J2SE app end and send the data over the internet (check out HttpConnection). I'm not sure of any other quick and easy methods.

But if the same index.app file is double clicked in Mac 10.6.7 at out clients location, its not opening. For your information the client is able to open this same application by double clicking on index.swf file. The main problem is that client is not able to open the application using index.app file at their office whereas we are able to do so at our office. Can anyone give some suggestions to sort this problem?

The most common reason is different versions of Flash, or different versions of web browsers used. Some users may elect to not have Flash installed at all because of the processor overhead of Flash. If you are going to make an application for a client, check what operating system and browser versions they are using first. Then determine if a stand alone application is required, or if they have the necessary plugins to run specific browser enhanced code.
P.S. MAC is an acronym for Media Access Control. Mac is the shorthand for Macintosh, the operating system and computers made by Apple Inc.

Sync is working between desktop browsers (bookmarks+history) but only syncing history to android. Need bookmarks!!!

Sync is working perfectly between FF 36.0 and Dev Ed 37.0a2 on Windows 7 and 36.0 on Windows 8.1 for Bookmarks + History
It's refusing to sync anything except History to FF 36.0 on Android 5.0.2 (Nexus7) and FF 36.0 on Android 4.4.4 (Moto G)
It's probably been quite a few weeks since it was successful with the bookmarks too. I've purged lots of bookmarks to reduce numbers (currently @ 4918 ish) and removed ALL bookmarks from both android browsers. Previously, I've disconnected the devices from Sync - even reinstalled FF on them but the problem persists. Since that's no longer making a difference, I'd like to find an *actual* solution :)
Previously, it worked without issue (mostly) but now does nothing - no stall, hang or delays when syncing - it would seem (judging by the speed of the UI when syncing) that the data simply isn't being sent (or requested) from the server.
The synced bookmarks (desktop) still show *old* data in the Mobile Bookmarks folder from when they used to sync. This isn't updated when anything is added on either Android device (one bookmark on each as a test).
I've enabled desktop sync logs as suggested in other similar posts, and managed to get remote debugging of the Moto G up and running, and managed to get it logging (adb logcat) to the console. Tapped for Sync and it looks like I've got something of use.
Is it possible to provide the logs via PM or e-mail?
Would "reading list" items be tipping the bookmarks over the 5000 limit? (They're also not syncing, but I assume they're a BM "category".)
Or a combination of pending unsynced items (from the other device) added to existing items hit the same limit?
When the limit is hit, is *all* bookmark syncing simply aborted? (Seems to be a current symptom... i.e. no attempt made - see below)
"Interesting" looking bits logcat:

Sure, you can pm the logs if need be, I would share them with a Sync engineer if there was any big issues. However the limit I believe would be mentioned in the logs if it was hitting the limit.

MW Design - Yeah I think "Relative paths" is the right term! I want to create a Layout with an image in the center of the page - and then duplicate my folder structure with that file. With that, I want to replace the Linked image file with a diferent image file of the same name. In effect having multiple files of the same layout with different images. I hope that made sense.

I think the best solution is to read Pages documentation, go to Help and you have a long list of options. Pages is capable of quite sophisticated things, some features are above Nisus or Mellel, so it is not so simple to summarize things in a few lines.

Develop: copy after to before for multiple photos?

Is there a way to copy after settings to the before settings (that of each photo) for multiple photos?
I find that I forget to do that after editing a photo. Then saving edits back to the file (cmd-S) flushes the before settings. I've been visiting every single photo to copy the 'after' settings to the 'before' settings.

Hi All -- I'm going to ask this question again as the issue continues to vex me.
I'm now using LR 2.2. The changes flushed to a image file (I use DNG) reflect the current 'before settings' in the develop module. In order to get recent develop module changes into the image file, one has to first execute "Copy After's Settings to Before", then save the image settings (cmd-S). That seems totally reasonable.
Here's my problem. I visit lots of images making edits. I don't always remember to "Copy After's Settings to Before" after making edits. In order to determine which image's I've made changes to I step through all my images in the develop module using the before/after view, executing "Copy After's Settings to Before". This is a big hassle. I need a better approach. First I don't always know which images I've edited and I usually don't care anyway. What I want is a macro that will perform "Copy After's Settings to Before" for multiple images. Is there such a feature or is this missing from LR?

I don't. For the moment it seems too complicated. I follow the MVC pattern when the application is big and try to look at the code of successful projects.

iam interested to develop for mobil and desktop devices with AS3 and Flash Professional and i have any question.
I see also many benefits to develop in flash as in java because javas gui development is based on swing a old java graphics engine.
Next reason is the plattform like Linux,Windows,IOS.,the Game Development and other stuff.
With Flash i can create nextgen interactive stunning cool gui interfaces for apps.
I dont know why flash sucks for the market and devices.
My question: is as3 and flash save for the future ?
Make it really sense to learn as3 and Flash ?

Software development always involves risk, so you can't really do much without worries.       AIR in particular is a cutting (bleading?) edge technology. Adobe is attempting to solve a difficult problem with limited resources, and the results aren't always ideal.
If you want to deploy to Android and iOS, and you write two native apps, you face a 100% risk that you'll have to write your app twice. While this may not take twice as long as writing it once, it will come close.
If you use AIR, you only have to write your app once, but you face other risks.
Here's the problem. In AIR, Adobe is attempting to create a framework that translates ActionScript into bytecode for two different platforms. This isn't easy. Every time Apple or Google upgrades their operating system Adobe has to try to refine AIR so that it translates everything correctly for the new OS. AIR also has to maintain backward compatability with all previous OSs (is that the plural of OS?). AIR also has to work with many different models of Android and iOS devices. This includes supporting most, though not all, of the many different capabilities that these OSs support. Adobe, wisely, doesn't try to support every new feature immediately. Instead, it picks and chooses which new features it will support, and how soon. But even taking this approach I have the impression that their task is daunting.
If you research this forum you'll find numerous examples of people complaining about features that don't quite work correctly. For example, I've put ~6 developer months into developing a language learning app, only to find that AIR's MP3 playback support has some limitations which severely impact the playback of voice recordings, which severely degrades the value of my app. I'm hoping that Adobe will fix this bug, but it's been two months now, with no movement. Another serious bug, involving audio recording using the device microphone, took three months to get fixed. During that period I had no idea whether it would get fixed, or whether I'd have to disable an important feature of my app on iOS.
So, you want "without worries"?
Some people are lobbying Adobe to include support for Windows Phone in the AIR framework. IMHO, this is madness. Adobe clearly has limited resources. Let them first focus on making basic features like MP3 playback work properly on the platforms that they already support.
The same issues probably apply to all the other cross-platform development frameworks - Sencha, Xamarin, etc. They face the same difficult technical challenges. I can't speak to the question of how well they're addressing them, but I'd want research them carefully before I invested a lot of time into developing with them.
With regards to AIR, here's my advice: Before you start a non-trivial project using AIR, make a list of all the things that your app will do, then see if you can find existing apps created with AIR that do these things. Make sure that the feature works on both Android and iOS. You won't be able to test on every device that you'd like to support, but pick a few and test on them.
You don't need to worry about your app's logic - ActionScript is great for that - and AIR translates it just fine. But think carefully about your app's 'skin' - all the ways that you want it to interact with the outside world - input and output - and confirm that apps exist that demonstrate that AIR can handle these features. Also think about the app's infrastructure - network interactions - database interactions - etc.
You'll probably end up with a list of features that you haven't been able to confirm. You can vet these by creating a proof of concept that confirms that AIR will support these needs. Do this before you start developing the full app. Once that's done, pray that everything that works now will continue to work with future OSs and devices. Adobe has a pretty good record on this sort of things, but there aren't any guarantees.

How to run windows mobile device center via remote desktop

I am developing mobile application in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. I connect to my computer via remote desktop and my operating system is Windows Server 2012 R2. In order to test the application, I use mobile device emulator. I can run device emulator but
there occurs a problem when I try to cradle the device. I found out that this is because wmdc cannot run via remote desktop. Is there any way to run wmdc via remote desktop? I searched other topics but there is no solution to this.
Note : WMDC works when I directly use the computer not with remote desktop.

How to Avoid Multiple Submits (In Mobile Device Browsers)

All,
We have a custom Application(developed using OAF) which is used Mobile Device browsers.
Once the user enters the Data, he will click on Submit Button, In the PFR, we are calling a pl/sql procedure,
that might take few seconds to come back depending upon the number of records he entered for submission.
In between the user thinks the button is not pressed, and when he try to press the submit button again the pl/sql will be called again with the same data.
We would like to avoid/ignore the second submit.
1) We tried ((OABodyBean)body).setBlockOnEverySubmit(true);
But which is not supported in Mobile/PDA.
2) Used TransactionHelper start/end, but when the page is getting transferred the transaction need to be ended, but that time if the
user submit again, we lost the control again.
Is there any workaround to solve this issue,
This is one of the show stopper for the client.
