Adusting a dynamic page counter

I'm having a real headache getting a page counter to work in a module. It is a long course - 120 slides - and it features a dynamic menu and a sidebar menu that allows navigation to different sections from anywhere. It also has a glossary, available from anywhere in the course, which has a Back button that goes to the last slide visited.
I need to change the cpinfocurrentslide variable by -2, to account for two screens before the menu (one of which is the glossary). I've created a variable, display_currentslide, which is in a text caption timed for the rest of the project. I have an Enter action on the menu which has an expression display_currentslide = cpinfocurrentslide. The result is that it shows Slide 1 of 120 on every slide. I can see that the issue is that this action does not happen on every single screen - only on the menu. So one solution would be to add this as an action to every screen, on top of whatever other actions are already there. This is feasible but would take ages. I've also seen a method of adding one or subtracting one for the cpinfocurrentslide using the forward and back buttons, which would work fine for me, except that there is a glossary which you can jump to from any screen in the course. Is there any method of making it work that doesn't involve adding a new action to every single one of 120 screens?

I suspect you are using 8.0.1.242, because there is no 8.1 available AFAIK.
If you want to have the variable v_CurSlide (sorry for my translation, this is my labeling way) updated on each slide, you'll have to run an action on each slide of course. Since that action never changes you can attach it to all the slides in one work flow: select all the slides in the Filmstrip (CTRL-A on Win), and enter the action name in the Actions tab, On Enter.
However I would recommend to use a shared action (better for file size), same work flow because you'll not need to turn anything into a parameter.
Another tip: why not display the Glossary interaction for the rest of the project as well, and use a toggle button to turn it on/off. Lot less navigation which will speed up the experience for the user since you have a long course.

There is one requirement where they need to print number of pages based on data flow in internal table. to understand better the requirement here is one example as below:
for ex; there is one internal table in one page which has 1000 records, the internal table is designed on body page (Design view), on the same page there is one footer which say the current page number based on internal table data. say for ex: the internal table filled with 100 records in the first [page then it should print page count 1 then the remaining 900 records it fills the second page then it should print on the footer page count 2. similarly for last page it should print page count 10.
Note: 1 there is other master pages also but the counting of pages should be for dynamic data in the internal table.
Note: 2 the actually counting should start with value 2 initialization . means first page count should be 2, 3, 4, ... 11.
solution: do we need to write some code in the script. If yes please provide the code or is there any way to set the page count for that variable from that point onward with +1 page.
Please advise. Your answer will be highly appreciated.

How to start the page count from second page (first is title)

Hi all,
I have been using Livecycle for a little while now and think I have got to grips with quite a bit of it to make some fairly simple interactive forms, but I have started to make more complex forms now and although I am able to work a lot of things out, one thing has stumped me. There are lots of threads about page numbering, but none seem to address my problem: I wish to have a 'page number' on the master page (done that) but I have 2 master pages, one is used for the first page (then not at all) and the second master page is used after that, that is the one with the page count on, that way the page number appears at the bottom on every page, apart from the first one. I need a way for the count to 'skip' the first page (as this is a title page and I do not want that numbered) and start numbering from page two of the form, but have it numbered as page 1.
So basically the document will be Title page (no numbering), then pages after that of the form, starting from '1' shown on the bottom- it is a dynamic form that may change length as the user adds to it. Is there a script that I need to use, and if so how should I implement it? Any help would be appreciated, apologies if this is not very clear!

How to get form fields in a dynamic page as a portlet

I have a dynamic page(publish as portlet and added to a portal page) with a html form that has many radio button created dynamically (query a table and create as many radio button as records I found) and the name of each radio button is the id of the record from the table it represents.
When I click the submit button of my form it will recall the same portal page and then I have to check which radio buttons where selected to update the database depending on it.
The problem is that I can't get the radio buttons inside the dynamic page because they are created dynamically so I can't make them portlet parameters to be associated with page parameters.
So How can I tell which radio buttons have been selected?

Write a procedure which will be called as the form action. This procedure should take an array of parameters like p_arg_names and p_arg_values. For example

I have written a query using a CASE statement in the select portion to evaluate column values and produce a text string. The query runs fine in sql*plus, but when I attempt to add the code to a dynamic page and compile it, I get the following error message:

Form in Dynamic page not working when checkbox is used.

I have created a form using dynamic page. The form most have display fields and a checkbox field. When I check a box, it assigns 'Y' value and when unclick, it assign 'N' to the database field.
When I submit the form, the procedure which is supposed to save the form data never gets executed. Well, at least it says, page not found HTTP 404 error.
Interestingly if I make this field a text box and manually enter 'Y' or 'N', and then submit the form, the procedure is executed. Data gets saved.
Is the checkbox not supposed to be used for a database field because checkbox value can be assigned only using javascript and the procedure never get that value ?
Can you please tell me how to use a checkbox for a database field using dynamic page ?

When I said, the form does not get submitted, I meant that the procedure does not work. The form gets submitted but the procedure does not work. It gives HTTP 404 error. That is what perplexes me. I am unable to understand why the procedure does not work when I click a checkbox.
May be you can make this work. I am hopeless about this.

Dynamic pages failing on XP

Here's the situation, I've got a dynamic page with a form that accepts a value to be passed to another dynamic page. The dynamic pages have worked fine on our Windows 2000 clients (IE6), we've just moved to new Win XP clients (IE6 xpsp1) and now the value gets dropped randomly and sends us to our error page. It will not work the first few times and then start working and then not work, it's on and off, no real pattern. I can't figure out what it is, since it's a simple form post, Win XP IE shouldn't have any problems with it, but it does. The code for the two pages is below. Any help would be appreciated.

I assume you want to SELECT some data from the remote table in order to build the dynamic page? Set up a db link to the remote database and then refer to the table you want by using USER.TABLE@DBLINK.

It is not possible to read the input parameters in the <oracle> tag. You can read it in the additional plsql code. If you have
to access the parameter deptno then do this in the additional plsql code section.

Dynamic page number

dynamic page number
I am trying to print multiple documents in one report, the requirement is to reset page numbers for every document(to start counting from 1)
I don't have control over the size of the document because it is a flow table
I am using page conditional break to finish the document and start a new one but I couldn't change the page number.
Plz help I am really trying to solve this for a week now.

he solution is as follows
create 3 numeric fields in the header of the table
total
counter 1
counter 2
the total is to count the number of pages of each document
in initialization event
total = total + 1 ;
the counter 1 is to make the counter of the pages from 0 to total (invisible)
in calculate event
if ( counter 1 < total ) then
counter 1 = counter 1 + 1 .
elseif( counter 1 >= total ) then
counter 1 = 1
counter 2 to show the page number of the document
in layout ready
counter 2 = 1
in calculate event
counter 2 = counter 1 + 1
Note: this is the logic with little modification create the code

I set up a helper package to return my reference cursors:
Package SOME_PKG as type t_RefCur is REF CURSOR;
I added the appropriate function to return the cursors. Here a simple example:

Showing forms in dynamic page

Hello,
I tried to create a form whic will be shown to user specific number of times with different default values. Let's say for example for every employee he will see a form where he should change employee's salary.
I create dynamic page and add the following code between ORACLE tags:

The problem is how can I make the form after user preses th SUBMIT (Insert) button on a form return control to the LOOP in the dynamic page and after this show form again with other default parameters?

You cannot have a dynamic table selection but if you want to use a select statement then you can use oracle tags in the html code like this

Dynamic page structure

I am using ADF 11g.
I am trying to implement a page structure which differs in order to a logic behind. As a result, page might have different count of facets and these facets should be filled programmatically. I wonder what is the best method for doing this. I am trying to use different page templates for each possible page structure. But i have some questions about it, any idea would be appreciated.
1- Is this supported: Main jsp file with a page template (which has a facet named contentArea), a jsff file (which has a dynamic page template reference) included in contentArea.
2- When using dynamic page template binding, is it a requirement that used page templates must have the same amount of facetrefs?
3- Can i dynamically change jsp:include tag's "page" attribute, e.g. with expression language?
4- How can i find a page template (RichPageTemplate component) from backing bean.

The page include is added during compile tme, not runtime. So I don't think this is possible. However you can change the <af:pageTemplate> content dynamically. If you need to dynamically change parts of a pae, have a look at the Dynamic Page Template tag in the ADF Faces tag documentation
4- How can i find a page template (RichPageTemplate component) from backing bean.
You can start searching from the UIViewRoot or relatve to the parent container, which is af:form. In the latter case, you create a JSF component binding reference for the RichForm in the managed bean and then call getChildren
e.g.

Portlet development as a dynamic page

Hi, professionals!
I am very new to Portal, and so, am just feeling my way through, reading the docs, looking at the Portal online forum, etc.
I need to develop a portlet as a dynamic page where would be automatically created a report with userâs login and other details from DB table. On portlet should be a link to the form where users insert their information. When the users click on âSubmitâ button e-mail notification should be sent to the Outlook. Any suggestions?

Write a procedure which will be called as the form action. This procedure should take an array of parameters like p_arg_names and p_arg_values. For example
