AE render setting for Vimeo HD

Hi All,
I've created a demo video for a client, its been created at 1920x1080HD and is 25 frames per sec. All graphics are sharp but i've had to use screen video captures from the client. They are sharp enough and work very well on my computer but when its all rendered they look very fuzzy and aren't legible. Not to mention that the mobile version seems to default to a SD render rather then a HD one.
I'm using Adobe CC 2014 and I know that the H264 codec is now located in the format options which means I can only choose quicktime as an output.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this. I want to make my client happy so any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Emma

I'm not clear what you are saying. All H.264 is/ should be handled via Adobe Media Encoder. Nobody would use the outdated H.264 in Quicktime.

  • How does one manage these new render setting for previews?

    I placed 4 HD clips from a nested into a sequence 5800 x 768 to mimic 4 side by side monitors for a multi channel video.  Each clip cut from the sequence are at 1280x720 all sitting side by side. However when I rendered the previews, they came look all squished. However when I exported the frame it looks fine in Photoshop. (I changed the uploaded image to what it looks like in Premiere in Photoshop to demonstrate the appearance in Premiere.)
    I imagine that the distortion has to do with the sequence render setting which for some reason comes out to 1918 x 253...or the pixel aspect ratio? How does one manage these new render setting for previews so it looks normal in the monitor?

    Either way, I thought that this format would be a great way to view on the monitor 4 channels at the same time. I may need to place them on a “normal” 1440 x 1080 sequence in a line, bringing them down to 25% scale to make it work in the end. I did just try that. I think it will work...but when I imported and nested the old file, the scratch disks changed from the original set up on a D drive back to the main hard drive so I had to change it agin. Otherwise it works fine...so I’ll go with this for now
    These are the instructions I was given.I attched a screen save of the AE file they asked me to use (They must be on vacation, because I have not been able to get hold of them). I don't know After Effects very well:
    “As you begin creating or adapting work for e4c, you may find an After Effects template developed for this system to be helpful. Attached you'll see a zipped file with two AE templates. There is some detailed information (below) from the artist that developed these for us. In addition, a few bits of information that might help you along are:
    ·        The "Watchout"  playback system can support WMV or a QuickTime files . We like .mov files with H.264 codec best!
    ·        The end resolution of the four screens is 5120 x 720 pixels (1280x720 each).
    ·        If works are four-channel, please provide a separate audio (aiff) file so it doesn't slow any one video down.”
    Thanks for your help!

  • Render settings for Vimeo - Animation coming out blurry

    Hello All,
    I am new to After effect and am currently tinkering on AE CS5.  I have made an infographic animation made up of illustrator graphics.  As I was making the animation the graphics were sharp but once rendered and then uploaded it to vimeo it looks blurry and not sharp.  I have looked high & low for the correct settings to use for vimeo but all seem to be inadequate.
    Tech spec: File settings and software
    After Effects CS5
    1280 X 720 HDV /HDTV 720 29.97
    Square pixels
    Resolution: Full

    If someone could please try advise on how to approach this It would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks

    It has come with After Effects for many versions now.

  • Recommended Render Setting for HDV 1080 29.97 project

    Hello,
    I'm making my 1st venture into creating my first HDV project in AE and I'm struggling with what render settings I should be using.  These are just athletic highlights I put together for a local college so there is nothing deeply complex in terms of animations, particles, etc.  Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Comp Preset: HDV 1080 29.97 (1440x1080)
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: HDV 1080/DVCPRO HD 720 (1.33)
    Frame Rate: 29.97
    Want to put final project on DVDs for distribution
    If there is more information that is needed I'd be happy to provide ASAP.  Again, thanks for your direction.

    If you're authoring in Encore and you've purchased one of the Adobe Suites, you can also drop Premiere Pro Projects, After Effects Projects or rendered uncopressed or lossless HD files directly in the Project panel, drop them in a timeline and build your DVD there. AE and PPro projects open up a window that will give you the choice of AE comps or PPro Sequences.
    If you do that and want multiple copies I'd recommend that you build a Disk Image so that compression only happens once and you can burn additional DVD's in minutes.

  • Best setting for export to revver/youtube/vimeo

    Hey,
    I've been trying all different settings and i still haven't been able to find the combination that makes for good quality video on sites such as revver/youtube/vimeo. I've tried all types of tutes online but none seem to work for me. I know theres a youtube setting but most people seem to say this is exports too small a size.
    Any suggestions? Thanks

    I'm not familiar with revver. YouTube is not up to the quality of Vimeo. I suggest exporting for Vimeo, using the suggested settings on the Vimeo site. Use that same file for uploading to YouTube/revver.
    To give you an example of the quality you can achieve on Vimeo, here is a clip I posted. The source material was 4:3 DV in a 16:9 SD project, encoded to 1280x720 (Vimeo HD) WMV with 2-pass unconstrained VBR with target bitrate at 5500 Mbps and audio at 128 Kbps.

    Even on YouTube it looks decent.

  • How to set render false for OALink Bean

    Hi friends,
    is it possible to set render false for OALinkBean.
    i am using the following code but it is not working
    OALinkBean LinkBean = (OALinkBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("subTabLinkThree");
    if(projectType.equals("XYZ"))
    LinkBean.setRendered(false);
    }

    previously i was using this code for hiding the subtablink but this code was not working
    OALinkBean LinkBean = (OALinkBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("subTabLinkThree");
    LinkBean.setRendered(false);
    but now i am using following code and this code is working fine
    OASubTabLayoutBean subTab = (OASubTabLayoutBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("subTabLayoutRN");
    if(subTab != null)
    subTab.hideSubTab(2,true);
    }

  • What Compressor codec should I use for footage recorded on a Canon T3i, edited on FCP 6, and intended for Vimeo?

    I am looking for help!
    My planned workflow is as follows:
    Footage recorded on Canon Rebel T3i  --->  Edited on Final Cut Pro 6 (sequence compression is apparently H.264 according to the browser)  --->  Compressed with Compressor (ver 3.0.5) in original 1920 x 1080, 24p format  --->  Uploaded to Vimeo
    I am now at the point where I am trying to find a Compressor setting that will create a compressed movie that looks somewhat similar to what I see in the canvas in Final Cut Pro 6.  I have tried using the H.264, Apple ProRes 422(HQ), HD Uncompressed 8-bit, and XDCAM HD 1080p24 settings and in all cases, my movie plays back fine, however, the brightness/exposure seems to be hiked up a few stops and there is a substantial amount of noise in both the blacks and midtones that doesn't appear in FCP's canvas.
    My compressed movie I wish to export is only intended for Vimeo (similar to Youtube).  Is there a different setting I should be trying, or perhaps a way of downloading a more effective or current codec??  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated as it is very disappointing to see my movie degraded so much from its orginal quality.
    Shaun M

    H.264.  But the FCP Legacy (FCP 7 and earlier) Canvas and Viewer aren't color accurate.  Not designed to be. Their purpose is to show you what you are doing, show you the footage so you can make editing decisions. For color accuracy, the ideal way, since this was designed with television and feature editing in mind, is to have an IO device like those AJA.com and DECKLINK.com make, and send the signal to an HDTV or broadcast monitor.
    Apple has realized that more and more people are editing for the web and computers only, so they made it so that FCX's viewer IS color accurate.  So...what that means is that currently, using what you have, you won't get things to match....they aren't designed to. So you can adjust for what happens when you export.
    But a big issue is that you are editing H.264 in FCP native. FCP doesn't work with H.264 native well, all sorts of potential issues can arise.  Sync issues, quality issues, the correct shot be exported, all sorts of things.  FCP works best with the FCP editing codecs. What are they? They are found in the EASY SETUP list.  But for HD, the most commonly used option is ProRes 422.  There is a BIG problem that FCP Legacy will SEEM like it'll work with H.264 natively just fine...it doens't throw up any warnings. That is bad. Also something Apple fixed with FCX.
    The fact that you are editing H.264, and trying to export H.264, might also lead to the footage being more off that it would if you edited ProREs 422, and exported H.264.  Note...H.264 is a higher data rate codec, and easier for FCP to work with...but because it has a higher data rate, the file sizes are much higher than the original H.264.  5-6x larger.  FCP 7 did have a way to import Canon 5D, 7D and T2i (needed a hack with the T2i) via Log and Transfer.  But it doesn't work with the T3i...not even with that hack. Because FCP 7 was no longer updated after the T3i came out. It's 4 year old software, discontinued 2 years ago.
    If you want to edit native, you need to look at Adobe Premiere Pro CC. It's interface is more accurate too.

  • Bitrate too low for vimeo

    I added a destination: Compressor Settings 'for vimeo' which I made in Compressor.  The bitrate is set to 'restrict to 5500 kbit/s'.
    I used Share in FCPX with that Destination.  Out popped a 15 min video (720p) at 4500 kbit/s.
    The summary in Compressor shows:
    Average data rate: 5.632 (Mbps)
              Maximum data rate: 5.632 (Mbps)
    Why such a low data rate?  Vimeo complains about that after upload saying it should be higher.  Well, yeah.
    rick

    It's a variable bit rate so there will be differences.
    Vimeo's guidelines are just that – guidelines. I bend them routinely to suit the current need and the quality of the material.
    They re-compress everything, so up to a point uploading bigger files gives their encoder more to work with. But it comes at a cost (against the weekly upload limit and upload time.). I have some 3Mb uploads that are 720p that to my eye look good.
    Afterimages wrote:
    My question is really not related to vimeo after all: can one set a minimum bitrate (quality component, after all) in Compressor?  Remember the output was about 1000 kbit/s less than Compressor said it 'was using'.
    There are some settings that allow for CBR. Otherwise, limiting a VBR to a higher maximum value will also result in a higher minimum. HTH.

  • 'Maximum' Quality Setting for Previews

    Dear Adobe,
    Aside from 'Low', 'Medium', and 'High' settings for standard-size previews, please add a 'Maximum' quality setting (equivalent to 10-12 quality setting for JPEGs in Photoshop).
    As standard previews are generated for imported images or for new edits on images already in Lightroom, sometimes low quality JPEG previews are generated. These previews exhibit color banding & macroblocking artifacts typical of JPEG files (especially in dark areas). Since these previews are used in the Library, Slideshow, Print, and Web modules, it's pretty darn annoying & distracting to stare at low-quality renditions of our images. Switch to Develop module, and a fresh new image is rendered on screen; therefore, these JPEG preview artifacts are not visible in the 'Develop' module.
    Two fixes to this problem:
    1.) Add a 'Maximum' quality setting for previews that Lightroom generates
    2.) Fix it the Aperture, Bridge, iPhoto, 'every-other-software', and your own 'Develop' module way: display the precached preview first, while rending a fresh view of the image in the background... display that when it's ready.
    Here's a forum where I've discussed this previously:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?128@@.3bc33a73
    Here are examples of the low-quality previews generated by Lightroom (when 1680 'High' setting is used for previews):
    http://web.mac.com/rishisanyal/iWeb/Homepage/Macroblocking.jpg
    http://web.mac.com/rishisanyal/iWeb/Homepage/Library.jpg
    http://web.mac.com/rishisanyal/iWeb/Homepage/Library_vs_Develop.jpg
    And if you are using a well calibrated monitor, then look at the macroblocking in the black wool coat in this image (please use a color managed viewer, else the coat will just look black and you won't see the blocking):
    http://web.mac.com/rishisanyal/iWeb/Homepage/Lightroom_JPEGblocking.jpg
    We photographers have discerning eyes. It's painful to see this terrible renditions of our precious images... and to have to switch over to the 'Develop' module *just* to get a high-quality rendition of our image? And meanwhile watch slideshows with low-quality versions (previews) of our images?
    Sounds pretty unacceptable to me.

    So, I'm pretty much convinced now that the problem with low-quality LR previews seems to be mostly isolated to the previews that LR generates after you make edits in the 'Develop' module.
    Upon first import, this image looked fine in the 'Library' & 'Slideshow' modules. After making some edits (color, tone, etc.) in the 'Develop' module, I ended up getting this hideous preview in the 'Library' & 'Slideshow' modules:
    http://web.mac.com/rishisanyal/Lightroom/07-0310_BandingBlocking.jpg
    You people with LCDs will be able to see the JPEG artifacts better than those with CRTs, since LCDs tend to be sharper.
    So, the obvious question is this:
    Does LR, when *re-generating* previews for edited images, ignore the quality-setting for JPEG previews (which I have set to 'high')??

  • I can't see "3d render setting" in photoshop cc.

    where i can Access render setting in photoshop cc.

    Hi Nancy. Thanks for trying to help. I followed the steps on your link, restarted Photoshop twice and it doesn't change anything.
    Restarted computer also. Still no change. Tried opening different photos, still no change.
    Under "Filters" I have the following choices:
    Convert for smart files
    Camera Raw Filter
    Blur
    Blur Gallery
    Noise
    Pixelate
    Render
    Sharpen
    Stylize - diffuse, emboss, find edges, trace contour
    Other - custom, high pass, maximum, minimum, offset
    Browse filters online
    I think I'm going to try to call Adobe.
    I'm not pleased paying $40 a month for something that doesn't do what it used to do.

  • Render (both for preview and export) takes forever

    I'm running Premiere Elements 12.0 (really 12.1) in a MacBook Pro Retina running 10.10.1 (14B25)
    It has quad Core i7 each 2.7 gH,  NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB, 16 GB of ram, and a 750GB SSD disk. There are no other applications running on the computer, and there is at least 300 GB of free disk space on the SSD.
    I am trying to edit HD video from my GoPro Hero 3+. I'm just loading the GoPro files using Add Media. Then I cut out boring parts, add in image stabilization and some titles, etc. The sessions typically have 6 to 8 files, each about 2GB of video. It represents 2 to 3 hours of capture. The goal is to get maybe one hour of nice video.
    Previewing viewing is terrible, with video out of sync from the audio by many seconds. You can't see any movement in the video for 10 to 30 seconds. This gets better if I use the "render" button on the timeline, but this process takes 15 to 30 hours.  And the improved preview speed only stays effective for a short while, as I do edits, add effects, etc. it gets slow (aka unusable) again.
    Once I've fought the program to get ready to do an export, I've got another multi-hour wait. Usually this is a bit shorter than the initial rendering, since the editing process has removed an hour or two of content.
    I know, these are big input files, and the resulting movies are big (a couple of gigabytes). But this is one of the fastest and most expensive laptop computers sold in the world. I'm just using a GoPro, not some fancy Red or 4K camera.
    I need to have the editing process be 3 times faster, I want it to be much better, ten times faster.
    I thought that quad real core with 8 threads, 16GB of ram, and a 750GB SSD was fast.
    I'd like concrete answers as to how I can get there.
    Are there settings for Premiere Elements that will help? Would I be happier with Premiere Pro? Would I be happier on a Windows machine with 2 or more high end graphics cards?

    thanks for the reply. I'm new to GoPro and Premiere Elements, so I don't know exactly what some of your stuff is.
    The video is taken on my dirt-bike, a motorcycle going through trails, woods and rocks. Its unwatchable without stabilization.
    The files are all taken as a single ride, single push of the shutter, and I go off and ride for a couple of hours. The GoPro automatically switches to a new recording file when the old one gets to 2.4 GB (which is about the maximum file size for 32 bit file formats.
    I copy all of the video clips to the SSD from the GoPro. Then I load them as assetts. Since that it the only disk I have, everything is there. But an SSD should be fast enough to handle swapping, file reading and writing.  I don't think that you can get two separate SSDs in a MacBook Pro Retina. It has no optical drive (which you could replace with an SSD in older models)
    I'm not against buying Pro if I have to, I'm cheap, and would rather not, but if that will make the workflow feasible, I'll cough up the money.
    All of clips (everything) have "Motion" "Opacity" "Stabilizer" and "Image Control"
    I actually have no clear understanding of what Motion does vs Stabilizer.
    Timeline rendering takes 10+ hours. More if the Mac sleep mode sets in. I have no idea where the rendered files are. Whereever PE defailts them. Still SSD
    What is "the Edit area monitor"? Do you mean the smallish video window above the timeline? Sometimes the video looks pretty good, other times the viewing of it lags 30 seconds or more behind the sound and timeline pointer.
    I don't think I understand your comment about when to stabilize. I agree that I should be able to work and do edits, titles, etc. without stabilization, and then just turn it on at the end. Or maybe even render it for export and then stabilize that file. But I don't know how to do any of that.
    Thanks
    Pat

  • SDO_GEOR.importFrom : Unable to render RenderedOp for this operation

    Contributors,
    I have trouble in loading a persistent LOB into a georaster :
    - I use sdo_geor.getRasterSubset to get whole cells (512x512) of band 0 of a 8BIT_U georaster, into a BLOB
    - dbms_lob.getLength of the blob gives me correct length : 262144 (=512x512)
    - i stored this blob into a persistent LOB (LOB in table)

    All right now am in 11g; after some error in installing 11g, failure in data moving when upgrading from 10gR2 to 11gR1 so i lost all my data (did not backup coz little space left).
    Then i decided to get rid all the installed 11g and 10gR2, cleaning up the registry keys, for clean installation of 11g.
    The 11g is now installed. I didnot have data backup but for georaster backup i can rely on the raster file and table creation sql i stored in text files. When i use the GeoRasterViewer tool (now version 11) for importing these raster files, the "OK" button in 'Import to DB' dialog does not give me anything. It does not works. Nothing loaded. The raster file is 8 bit TIFF, 512 rows x 512 cols x 15 layers. (i tried different images but no luck).
    Here is my table definition :
    CREATE TABLE multilayer
    (image_id NUMBER,
    raster_description VARCHAR2(70),
    image SDO_GEORASTER);
    CREATE TABLE multilayer_RDT OF SDO_RASTER
    (PRIMARY KEY (rasterID, pyramidLevel, bandBlockNumber,
    rowBlockNumber, columnBlockNumber));
    INSERT INTO multilayer
    VALUES(1, 'Raster trial KALISYA! 512x512x15', MDSYS.SDO_GEOR.init('multilayer_rdt', 1));
    (the createDMLtrigger is not necessary anymore in 11g, right?)Another problem is : i created a georaster table for raster of 4 rows x 4 cols x 4 layers, with my specific value for every cells (64 cells all) specified by .changeCellValue. Here is : CREATE TABLE four (image_ID NUMBER, description VARCHAR2(50), image SDO_GEORASTER);
    CREATE TABLE four_RDT OF SDO_RASTER (PRIMARY KEY (rasterID, pyramidLevel, bandBlockNumber,rowBlockNumber, columnBlockNumber));
    INSERT INTO four VALUES (
    1,'A 4rows x 4columns x 4bands image',

    'four_rdt', 1)                    --RDT and rasterID
    DECLARE
    gr sdo_georaster;
    BEGIN
    SELECT image INTO gr FROM four WHERE image_id=1 FOR UPDATE;
    SDO_GEOR.changeCellValue(gr,SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(0,0,0,0),'0',1);
    SDO_GEOR.changeCellValue(gr,SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(0,1,0,1),'0',2);
    SDO_GEOR.changeCellValue(gr,SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(0,2,0,2),'0',3);
    SDO_GEOR.changeCellValue(gr,SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(0,3,0,3),'0',4);
    SDO_GEOR.changeCellValue(gr,SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(3,2,3,2),'3',63);
    SDO_GEOR.changeCellValue(gr,SDO_NUMBER_ARRAY(3,3,3,3),'3',64);
    UPDATE four SET image=gr WHERE image_id=1;
    COMMIT;
    END;
    /The console says everything ok but GeoRaster viewer does not show the data AND metadata (metadata tab is blank white). In console i can get the .getCellValue as well (see the value of cell at 4th row 4th col 4th layer is 64).
    select sdo_geor.getCellValue(image,0,3,3,3) from four where image_id=1;
    SDO_GEOR.GETCELLVALUE(IMAGE,0,3,3,3)
                                      64? These were simple and smooth in 10gR2 but i found them weird in 11g. any suggestion ? i tried validate but no luck as well.

  • In iPhoto I get "unable to render file for export" when trying to export a file to an SD card?

    I have been trying to save jpg files to an SD card.  When I export from iPhoto is says "unable to render file for export".  It will let me export to the desktop.  Then when I try to copy or move to the SD card, it says the SD card does not have enought free space.  It's a 1 gig card and the files are under 100k.  I have tried different SD cards, formating the cards with the camera.  The card has 200 filles (57mb) when I started and wanted to add more.  I have ereased the card trying to see if that would help.  No go!  Any ideas?

    What is the filesystem on that card?
    i assume, you made sure that the little white lock mechanism at the side of the card is unlocked?

    I am making a presentation of Student interviews for a local high school graduation.  I rendered it down and played it on my Macbook pro, and the words are out of sync.  I used a Canon 5d MK2 (1080p, 30 frames, 48k) It looks great and is in sync in premiere.
    What is the best render setting to keep the highest quality and keep the sync??
    I have tried a few render settings such as h.264 720p 44.1
    The playback will be on my laptop, using quicktime.
    My laptop has 2gb of ram, with 2.2 core duo processor.
    HELP

    I don't know if these are the highest quality but I didn't have any issues using either H264 widescreen with audio settings at 48k or Quicktime with 48k exporting from PrPro in Windows for playback on a Mac using Quicktime. The Quicktime file didn't look as good using Quicktime player for Windows, and  the H264 looked fine on both QT for PC and Mac. The sync issue could have been from using 44.1 instead of 48k audio.
