Af:selectManyChoice transient variable to show selected rec in edit mode

Hi All,
Previous i have asked about af:selectManyChoice.
My requirement i have two tables HeadTab and ChildTab.
In my jsff , am showing HeadTab in table grid .In HeadTabVO , i have created a transient variable named chDetail.
In table grid , am using af:selectManyChoice to chDetail , where user select multiple records. I can successful in get the selected records and saving in the ChildTab.
Issue : when am in edit mode or revisit the page . Now i need to show the selected /saved records for respective HeadTab Id in chDetail (af:selectManyChoice) .
I have created view link to HeadTab and ChildTab. How can i show the existing record in selected manner in chDetail transient variable for respective IDs in HeadTab.
Thanks in advance.

Frank,
I'm saving selected records in ChildTab . when user revisits /edit mode , i have to show the records which are saved in ChildTab as selected in the af:selectManyChoice(this is transient variable) .I'm using jspx page.

  • Calendar Web Part not showing events except in edit mode

    We are unable to view calendar events in the calendar view except in edit mode. When you view the page normally, the calendar shows the current day, but you cannot change the month or add new events.
    If you change the view to all items you can see all the events but its not in the calendar view which is preferred.
    Any ideas?

  • JComboBox: Can I have the arrow to show up in non-editing mode ?

    Hi,
    I have a JComboBox in a JTable. The JComboBox is not editable. If I'm selecting from the popup, the Popup shows a nice little arrow on the right. If I'm not selecting (e.g. I'm in another cell or another component has focus), the arrow doesn't show.
    I don't care, but the users get picky sometimes. They want to see the arrow ALWAYS.
    Thanks
    Holger

  • How can we have transient variable value as a parameter for an attribute?

    Hi,
    I am using JDev 11.1.1.2 with ADF11g.
    I have a requirement where I have to display a table with many columns. One of the columns is a drop down whose values are fetched from DB. This is a non-DB item and so becomes a transient variable of the VO.
    There is another column/attribute of the VO that has to first pick the value of the transient variable and display values in the LOV.
    How can this be achieved? Do we have an example link for this?

    Hi simanta,
    According to your description that you are experiencing the issue with passing one textbox's values as parameter to another textbox, you got some errors, right?
    I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce your issue, your issue can be caused by the invalid expression you have added in the parameter for textbox1, you have mentioned that the textbox1 have just one value, for example, if you specify
    the default value and available value using this expression "=first(Fields!Yourfields.Value, "DataSet2")" you will get this kind of error.
    So, I suggest you not using the expression in the parameter, you can add condition in the query to get the proper value for textbox1, you said you also try to create an dataset for textbox1 but not getting the proper values of textbox1, please reference
    to details information below to check if you have done the right actions:
    Create an Dataset(Dateset2) to get the value for textbox1:
    I suppose you want to get the first values from the table, you can use query below instead of the using expression:
    Select Top 1 amount from tablename2
    Add the parameter(Param1) for textbox1, specify both the available values and default values by select the "Get values from a query" (DataSet2)
    In the main dataset(Dataset1), add the filter like below to display the textbox2's values which are  greater than Textbox1:
    You can also filter the data by modify the query of Dataset1:
    SELECT  * FROM   TableName1
    where  SalesAmount >(@Param1)
    If you problem still exists, please try to provide information below to help us more effective to provide an solution:
    How did you get the value for textbox1(Please provide all the expressions or the dataset query you are currently using)
    How did you add the filter to filter the Textbox2 which greater than textbox1?
    Any problem, please free to ask.
    Regards

  • ADF Transient variables reusage

    Hello,
    I have a question regarding transient variables in VO.
    When defining a view object, can i have in it 2 transient variables that have the default value "SQL" format and can be something like this:
    transVal1 = "SELECT NAME FROM EMPLOYEES WHERE EMPLOYEE_ID = 1"
    transVal2 = "SELECT EMPLOYMENT_DATE FROM EMP_DATES WHERE NAME = transVal2"   (this will return just one value)
    First time asking a question here, hope it's ok.
    Thanks in advance.

    My view component looks something like this:
    SELECT Table1.TABLE1_ID,
           Table1.TABLE1_DESCRIPTION,
           Table2.TABLE2_ID,
           Table2.TABLE2_DESCRIPTION,
           (SELECT DATE FROM (SELECT MAX(DATE) FROM TABLE3 GROUP BY GROUP_ID) AS Table3 WHERE Table3.TABLE3_FK_ID = Table2.TABLE2_ID) AS MAX_DATE    <- transient
           (SELECT SOMETHING FROM TABLE4 WHERE DATE = MAX_DATE) AS SOME_ATTR                                                            <- transient
    FROM  TABLE1 Table1, TABLE2 Table2
    The problem is, that, if i put the SQL in the second transient variable, then i can't use "Table2.TABLE2_ID"
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vivek,
    have a look on below comments, it may help you.
    This problem will occur if you have application developed in older JDeveloper version (i.e. 9.0.5) deployed on OAS 9.0.x. In older versions there was no syntax check of this type in a data source class. But there is a workaround. Instead of using oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource data source class within ojdbc14.jar you can use oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource within classes12.jar.
    Classes12.jar was used in older OAS versions.
    All you have to do is to copy classes12.jar to $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib and then in OAS Server Properties screen in java options add:
    -Xbootclasspath/p:/$ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/classes12.jar statement.
    Rename ojdbc14.jar to ojdbc14.zip, restart the OAS instance. This should work.
    Regards,
    Naren.

  • Getting 'variable not in select list' error after extending VO

    Hi,
    My page is based on two VO. one VO has all transient attribute(LearnerSearchCritVO) and used to capture Search Criteria, The other VO is used for query(LearnerSearchVO).
    I have exteneded LearnerSearchCritVO to add 4 new additional Transient attributes
    and LearnerSerachVO and its IMPL class to add additional where clause.
    After substitution and personalization when I am querying through page I am getting the following error -

    The query is working fine at backend and the same thing was working fine before instance is refreshed.
    I am not able to find why this error is coming.
    please help me out to sort this issue.

    Hi All
    Sorry to bring this one up again, but I've had a bit of a look around and done as much as I can based on the information given in this and other threads on the subject.
    I'm getting the java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01007: variable not in select list error from my extended VO/substitution.
    The query is based on a view for easy editing after deployment, so could that have anything to do with it?
    Here's the query from the error message:
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement:

    AND (:3 = SUPERVISOR_ASSIGNMENT_ID

    So... What's missing?
    Any help appreciated.

  • Transient variables non initialised........

    Hi everyone,
    I have two transient variables that is causing me problems. In my jsp page I have an entry form with a persist entity button..... The entry form does not have the two transient variables.
    Below the form is a table that will display all the records entered by the user.The table coluns comprises of the two transient variables but when i persist these two fields are not filled . I have to click on the table ( as if the table is refreshed to have the variables).
    In fact for the display of the tables below I have written in my session bean a method that will retrieve all the records by the user for the current week and set the values for the two transient variables .
    My question is how can i fill the transient variables in the table when i persist that is on submit.
    I am using Ejb 3.0....
    Please help me ...
    Regards Lutchumaya

    Hi Frank,
    here is the code from which i generate the table .... The PPR all is set as you told me...
    But how I can change my method in my session facade please help me . Here is my method
    /** <code>select object (o) from TrpStimeReports o where o.trpSemployees = :emp and o.weekNumber = :weeknum</code> */
    public List<TrpStimeReports> getEmpTrp(Object emp, Object weeknum) {
    // return em.createNamedQuery("getEmpTrp").setParameter("emp", emp).setParameter("weeknum", weeknum).getResultList();
    Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
    if(weeknum == null){
    weeknum = cal.get(Calendar.WEEK_OF_YEAR);
    //Get the project assigned to the user
    List userpro = getUserProjects(((TrpSemployees) emp).getUsername());
    TrpSprojects pro = null;
    TrpStask taskuser = null;

    Long proid = null;
    //Here am setting the values for the transient variables that are in my TrpStimeReports class
    for(Iterator itertrp = trprepo.iterator();itertrp.hasNext();){

  • List View Report with pipelined function in Mobile application and ORA-01007: variable not in select list

    Hi!
    I have a problem with List View Report in mobile application (theme 50 in apex) after updating to apex 4.2.2. I created Report -> List View. I used select from pipelined function in Region Source. Then when page is running and submited three times (or refreshed three times) I get an error:
    Error during rendering of region "LIST VIEW".
    ORA-01007: variable not in select list

         ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_DISP_PAGE_PLUGS", line 3220
    I get this error only when I use select from pipelined function in Region Source (for example: "select value1, value2 from table(some_pipelined_function(param1, param2)) ").
    You can check it on http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=50591 (login - demo, password - demo).
    In this application:
    - I created package TAB_TYPES_PKG:
    create or replace PACKAGE TAB_TYPES_PKG IS
    TYPE cur_rest_r IS RECORD (
        STR_NAME          VARCHAR2(128),
        INFO              VARCHAR2(128)
    TYPE cur_rest_t IS TABLE OF cur_rest_r;
    END TAB_TYPES_PKG;
    - I created pipelined function TEST_FUNC:

    r_cur_rest TAB_TYPES_PKG.cur_rest_r;
    BEGIN

    r_cur_rest.STR_NAME := 'ROW 5';
    r_cur_rest.INFO := '50';
    PIPE ROW (r_cur_rest);
    RETURN;
    END TEST_FUNC;
    - I created List View Report on Page 1:
    Region Source:
    SELECT str_name,
           info
    FROM TABLE (TEST_FUNC)
    We can see error ORA-01007 after refresing (or submiting) Page 1 three times or more.
    How to fix it?

    Hi all
    I'm experiencing the same issue.  Predictably on every third refresh I receive:

    OK
    I am running Application Express 4.2.2.00.11 on GlassFish 4 using Apex Listener 2.0.3.221.10.13.
    Please note: this works perfectly using a classic report in my desktop application; however, no joy on the mobile side with a list view.  I will use a classic report in the interim.
    My region source is as follows:

  • Using Bind Variable in a SELECT

    Hi,
    I'm trying to build up my SQL query at run-time using bind variables and in the Oracle® Fusion Middleware Fusion Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) it says that 'After defining the bind variables, the next step is to reference them in the SQL statement. While SQL syntax allows bind variables to appear both in the SELECT list and in the WHERE clause, you'll typically use them in the latter context, as part of your WHERE clause.'.
    However, when I try to use the bind variables in my SELECT list because I've had to set a type for the variable to String the variable gets inserted with inverted commas either side e.g. SELECT 'Service' FROM TestTable. Is it possible to use bind variables to insert a value into my select list without these inverted commas around it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tom

    OK, thanks for your response. Do you know of a way then where I can control my SELECT parameters programmatically? I'm currently trying to do it using the information in the chapter '35.9 Using Programmatic View Objects for Alternative Data Sources' from the Oracle® Fusion Middleware Fusion Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Release 1 (11.1.1). I think I'm part way there, would this be the correct way of acheiving what I want?
    Cheers, Tom

  • Merge can't accept a variable in the select clause?

    oracle 10.2
    I have a stored procedure.
    I have a variable, vseq, which I set a sequence variable. With all other sql statements I can do
    insert into table a
    select vseq
    from dual;
    Apparently a merge can't handle variables in the select clause. I get an error. I can get it to work when I hard code a value.
    this is ridiculous...

  • Error while using selection option variable in the selection screen

    Hi All,
    I am facing an issue while using selection option variable in the selection screen for one of my reports.
    Scenario: For the field "Region From" we need to have wild card logic () in tes selection screen, for example if we put "BE" in the selection screen for the field Region From then the query should be executed only for those "Region From" values which begin from "BE".
    Approach: For the above requirement I have made a selection option variable for "Region From". This allows use wild card
    But when the report is executed we get the following error:
    "System error in program CL_RSR_REQUEST. Invalid filter on ETVRGNFR".
    (ETVRGNFR is technical name of the info object Region From)
    Though the report is executed it displays all the values for the field "Region From" irrespective of the selection given in the selection screen.
    Please give suggestions / alternate solutions to crack this issue.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Priyanka.

    Hi,

  • How to use bind variable in this select statement

    Hi,
    I have created this procedure where table name and fieldname is variable as they vary, therefore i passed them as parameter. This procedure will trim leading (.) if first five char is '.THE''. The procedure performs the required task. I want to make select statement with bind variable is there any possibility to use a bind variable in this select statement.
    the procedure is given below:
    create or replace procedure test(tablename in varchar2, fieldname IN varchar2)
    authid current_user
    is
    type poicurtype is ref cursor;
    poi_cur poicurtype;
    sqlst varchar2(250);
    THEVALUE NUMBER;
    begin
         sqlst:='SELECT EMPNO FROM '||TABLENAME||' WHERE SUBSTR('||FIELDNAME||',1,5)=''.THE ''';
         DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(SQLST);
    OPEN POI_CUR FOR SQLST ;
    LOOP
         FETCH POI_CUR INTO THEVALUE;
              EXIT WHEN POI_CUR%NOTFOUND;
              DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(THEVALUE);
              SQLST:='UPDATE '||TABLENAME|| ' SET '||FIELDNAME||'=LTRIM('||FIELDNAME||',''.'')';
              SQLST:=SQLST|| ' WHERE EMPNO=:X';
              DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(SQLST);
                   EXECUTE IMMEDIATE SQLST USING THEVALUE;
    END LOOP;
    COMMIT;
    END TEST;
    Best Regards,

    So you want to amend each row individually? Is there some reason you're trying to make this procedure run as slow as possible?
    create or replace procedure test (tablename in varchar2, fieldname in varchar2)
    authid current_user
    is
       sqlst      varchar2 (250);
       thevalue   number := 1234;
    begin
       sqlst := 'update ' || tablename || ' set ' || fieldname || '= ltrim(' || fieldname || ',''.'')  where substr(' || fieldname
          || ',1,5) = ''.THE ''';
       dbms_output.put_line (sqlst);
       execute immediate sqlst;
    end test;will update every row that satisfies the criteria in a single statement. If there are 10 rows that start with '.THE ' then it will update 10 rows.

  • Using Variables in a select statement through a Database Adapter

    I was wondering how I reference a variable in a select statement through a Database Adapter.
    Ex.
    1. I have a global variable that stores an employee number
    2. I want to select an SSN # from a table based on an employee #
    variable.
    select ssn from emp where ssn = :input_variable - ????
    - how do i reference the variable - I am getting a 'missing IN or OUT parameter error?
    Any advice is much appreciated.
    ~Thanks

    I'm just wondering if anyone knows a work around so that I might be able to store a Table's FIELD name in a variable or an array[] so that I can do a query based on the decision of a loop without having to code 10 IF/ELSE statements.For instance, although the above code will not work, this code, although quite lengthy, does:
    If DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 0 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by RES__PUR_DT"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 1 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by VENDOR"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 2 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by VEN_LOC"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 3 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by RES_TYPE"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 4 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by RES_FROM_DT"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 5 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by RES_TO_DT"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 6 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by MISC_ADJ"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 7 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by STATE_TAX"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 8 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by LOC_CHARGE"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 9 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by RES_ID"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    ElseIf DataGrid1.SelStartCol = 10 Then
    Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from tblReservation order by RES_OP"
    Adodc1.Refresh
    End If
    Do you see where i'm going with this?
    I simple want to use a variable in the "select * from <Table> Order by <Field>"
