AFP 11 bug - streaming video (webcam)

Hi,
I've updated flash player to the newest version (11), and I'm experiencing some problems with video broadcasting to websites like justin.tv or chatroulette.
The bug: when broadcasting a screen recording, or my real webcam sometimes it jumps back to earlier frame for about half a second. It's hard to explain so I made a little video:
I've created an example video with a timecode, and broadcasted it to a website, which uses adobe flash player 11:
(In the left you can see the original video, displayed in broadcasting software's preview window; and in the right, website previews my broadcast. The parts where bug appears are in slow motion, so you could see the timecode "jumping" to previous frame)
I wouldn't mind if this bug happened only in preview window, but the flash player broadcasts a buggy video, so the viewers also see this bug.
This bug did not happened in Adobe Flash Player 10, but I tried all the subversions of 11 and all of them had this bug.
I'm using windows 7, firefox. This also happens on IE 7.
P.S. In the video above, this bug happens few times in a minute, but when I use my real webcam (and I'm moving the camera or I'm moving myself) this bug happens a lot more times.

Thanks, it works in the new beta version.
However I got another problem, which is related to this one, so I'll post it here:
I don't know if this is flash player's bug or my hardware's problem, but I get horizontal lines over the video if I move camera a bit or I'm broadcasting something moving (just like this bug), so I also made a little video:
(video is in slow motion again so you could see the actual problem)
It might be my hardware's problem, because at first I didn't had it (~3 months ago), but then I had to reinstall windows, and I've had installed flash player, and this problem occured. I tried flash players 9,10,11 and all of them had this (but not before I reinstalled windows).
However when I'm on chatroulette, the other person's video doesn't have these lines, but mine does (it seems that something is wrong with streaming).
Maybe anybody knows fix for this?

  • Video Stream from Webcam with socket possible?

    Hello there,
i want to stream a live feed from my webcam in a chat, but i have no idea how to manage it... ( i dont want RTP ) ...
I can allready display it on my screen, but how do i stream this ?
Can i create a Socketstream from this ?
And how can i transmit the format info to the other side?
What i have is the following:
    The Component of the Camera:Component live = player.getVisualComponent();And the Formatsprivate static Format[] availableFormats;
    availableFormats = deviceInfo.getFormats();Any Ideas ?

    Hi,
I want to do the same thing ... I was able to stream audio through the socket but could not stream video.
I posted my question at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=674676&tstart=15
and presented a sketch of my implementation design. But until now no one has answered my question.
This is how you should hook up the components on the transmitter side
    Webcam --> Processor --> Custom DataSink --> PushBufferStream --> PushBufferHandler --> Socket --> Network.
You can implement the transferData() method of the PushBufferHandler to write to a socket.
And on the Receiver side the components should be hooked up like this
Network --> Socket --> PullBufferStream --> custom DataSource --> Player
    Now as I mentioned in
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=674676&tstart=15
the audio works fine but the video does not. The video does not render on the receiver side.
Note: I tried TCP sockets with audio and it is terrible (not practical at all) so I reverted to UDP datagrams and the result was better than I expected. I didn't take care of the ordering of received packet at the receiver but it still worked fine.
I am still looking waiting for some help in why video is not rendering and how can I sovle this problem.
I am workning on a project and time is running out.
    Any help?

  • Why Flash crashes when I stream video of my webcam?

Hi, I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 and everytime I enter in a flash chat (like justin.tv) and try to send video of my webcam, it starts to stream video and then it crashes in about 5 seconds.
I've searched a lot at google for a solution, but i haven't found anything that works. And this only happens in Linux.
Here are my logs and information so maybe someone can give me a help:

What may be wrong? My webcam works fine with applications like xawtv, i can even record video. The problem is with flash plugin. Every time I try to send my video it crashes after 5 seconds. o_O
    Is there a solution?
    Thank You!

  • Live Streaming Video Playback on CBC - Flash Jitter Bug

Not sure how many of you are trying to watch the playoffs on CBC on your playbook, but I have a problem with jitter during playback, but only with live streaming video. This is not a connection issue. Apparently it's a b-frame issue where the frames are played out of order, and an adobe flash bug. It appears exactly the same as this example:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh_8EPfbpZ
Very hard to watch, and extremely frustrating. Does everyone experience this with the CBC site? Is this a playbook issue, or just something with my unit? Any suggestions for resolution?
    Go Canucks Go!

The more serious problem is that TSN is carrying tonight's Canucks game... and they seem to be stuck in 1995 and are not streaming the game. Ugh!

  • Safari no longer can show streaming video from Linksys webcams?

Since upgrading my iPhone and iPad to iOS6 yesterday, Safari no longer displays the streaming video from my Linksys webcams.  I can trick it into displaying a still image by going to the camera's main page then hitting the browser back button to the page that should show the stream.  This problem is also reported in the Safari on Mountain Lion community with no apparent fix for that platform.  Any ideas?

I have this same exact problem my iPhone 4s as well as my iPad 2nd gen and my iPod Touch 4 gen,,,,...  Tried clearing history and cookies and it worked one time on some of my cameras but then almost immediately went back to the problem you just described.
A few of the cameras were streaming well when I first tried accessing them from my iPod touch but after viewing a couple of the cameras none of them worked from then on. At least we know that Safari ios6 has the ability to successfully steam the cameras but something is happenening after you begin accessing the cameras. Its like something in Safari kicks in which prevents the actual streaming. The inter face all around the steaming box is all there and I can easily access the utilities sections of the cameras. Its just a streaming issue I think...
Anyone have any idea what in Safari could be blocking the streaming? Thanks!

  • Can QT Pro capture streaming video from webcams?

I'm trying to capture segments of video from the National Geographic's Wildcam Africa, in which they have a live feed of video from a waterhole in Africa 24/7. Can QT Pro do this? (All I can find is info on creating streaming video with QT.)

SnapZ Pro can create any format of QuickTime when you "finalize" the file. You only get one choice at this step so you must plan ahead.
If you capture at 640X480 and export to DV Stream you can edit that file with iMovie. Adjust your Display dimensions so your capture gets the biggest version of the on screen area. If the play window is small (most are 320X240) set your Display to 800X600 prior to capture and see if it helps.

  • Dashboard widget with streaming video breaks after upgrade to Mountain Lion

Hi.  I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.  Under SL, I had an OS X widget that was a web clipping of a streaming mpeg image being produced by a Linksys/Cisco WVC54GCA web camera.  When I brought up the dashboard, the OS would start streaming the data from the mpeg filename, which looks like "hostname.com/img/video.mjpeg".
After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I noted that the widget never fully loads, indefinitely displaying a "Loading Clip..." mesasge.  After deleting and re-adding, I can still get as far as adding the web clipping to the dashboard at the right dimensions, but there's no content.
Unfortunately the camera unit doesn't provide for the display of HTTP access logs, so I can't see if there's an issue there, but my understanding is that if I can display the image in a Safari browser, it should work just fine in Dashboard too.  (I did make sure that, where needed, the username/password for accessing the video are included in the URL.)
I did sniff the network traffic between my system and the camera host, and show that video traffic starts flowing between the two as soon as the widget is brought up.  So, it's almost like the widget doesn't know when to stop "loading" and start "displaying," perhaps because the HTTP request is never truly "done."
Can anyone speculate if something may have changed in Mountain Lion affecting the ability of web clipping widgets to display streaming video?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi James
I have exactly the same problem with the same "Loading clip" then blank.  I have been trying a lot of stuff to get this working, but haven't had the chance of sniffing the network traffic as you have done.  By reading what you said about the traffic seems to be flowing without the picure being displayed makes me even more puzzled by this.  I never had a streaming video while  I were using Snow Leopard, but I had a still-image, as I also do now in Mountain Lion.  I recently began to research for a way to display the video.cgi MIME image that my camera produces, and I've also concluded that this should be an easy task for the dashboard web clip function; the video does display in safari after all.
I suspect that our cameras uses the same built in webserver solution written by a "Steven Wu".  Cheap webcameras frequently uses his script with MJPEG (stream of JPEG pictures) to avoid the expensive licenses of using other video codecs.
I read this a bit down at this site: http://channel9.msdn.com/coding4fun/articles/Everyone-Loves-Babies-Webcams-and-M otion-Detection
Have you come any closer in your research?
I have started to think that maybe I have to write a dashboard widget on my own to accomplish this.

  • Some websites wont stream videos others will

Since buying a new computer, I have had perpetual issues with flash running correctly.  I have always been a fan of chrome and naturally that has been my primary browser for the life of this computer....at some point in time, the flash (either after being updated/or @ some point) quit streaming videos on certain websites....(showtime anytime, and divx movies from places like movie-forumz being the most important.)  At first, after doing some research on the web, I was led to believe this was a chrome issue and tried to do the workaround of disabling either the pepper flash or the adobe flash in the plugins section of chrome....this did nothing for me.  I even posted a question on the chrome forums to see if there was any way they could maybe lead me in the right direction.  Well, they gave me some generic things to try (most of which I had already done) and were not a huge help.  Since then, I've tried completely uninstalling/removing/reinstalling everything from chrome/shockwave player/flash player/frirefox etc. but to no avail.  Recently, since I thought this was not going to get fixed in chrome, I thought I would try to stream videos from internet explorer.  After making sure everything was set up (since, I had never used it) I came across the same problem....the same videos will not play in internet explorer as well.  This is what lead me here.  Thanks in advance......(I hope.)  I have a fairly new computer.  Specs below:

Since this is also happening with IE, I'm not sure a Chromium bug is relevant.  While you might suspect Flash is to blame, but it's also possible other issues are at play (network throttling, server code, third party utilities/services, etc.)
Taking a look at the locations you've outlined on the Chrome bug:
www.showtimeanytime.com (loads, but will not play video, also does not show the length of the video as if it never actually began to load)
I just tried this with Chrome 25.0.1364.172 m on Windows 8.  I had to install the Widevine Media Optimizer to get video to play.  Have you done this?  Have you tried contacting Widevine to see if they have any advice?  Once I installed this and restarted the browser I had no problems playing from Showtime.  I haven't seen any recent posts about Showtime, so I suspect this isn't a widespread issue.
http://www.putlocker.com/file/DC54509DC05BAC99# (never actually plays, just continually looks like it buffers) any video on
This link was broken and I can't seem to find another putlocker video link.  However, have you tried reaching out to putlocker to see if they have any ideas?  Given that this appears to be a fairly popular filesharing site, I would imagine we'd see a lot of complaints if Flash was not working properly here.  To date, I've never seen any reports on this forum.
www.xvideos.com (hangs @1% until video is fully downloaded, then plays.)
I'm blocked from viewing this site.  It's possible that this site doesn't allow streaming and instead requires the entire video to be downloaded before playing.  Again, you should contact them to see what the proper experience should be.

  • How to display streaming video in a GUI window

    Hello,
I was wondering what the process would be to stream video from a webcam or other similar type device into a Java GUI built in Netbeans. I have had success with this using Matlab and its built in mex compiler but need greater functionality than a Matlab GUI provides so I would like to move this over to Java. I have limited Java experience and realize this may take time, but would like to know what steps are needed.
    Thank you
    Dave

..built in Netbeans. ..As a general rule of thumb, if someone feels the need to name their IDE when asking a question, it is a good sign they are better off avoiding an IDE at this stage of their learning.

Protocol error usually indicates that the very leftmost part of the URL is not recognized.
    So http://, ftp://, rtsp://, usually work.
ableton:// would need to be added by some software somewhere...

  • Streaming Video in Applets

    Hello,

    Thanks

    Hello,
Can I stream video (through WebCam) and audio (through
    Mic) in Applets?
Can I access the user WebCam from Applet?
ThanksTo access the user WebCam from Applet, you can use the Java Twain package http://www.gnome.sk
There is a tutorial with many code examples. One part of the tutorial deals specially with remote applications - there are applet code examples.
On the http://www.gnome.sk there are online examples for the remote applications too - if you have a webcam connected to your computer, the Upload Applet will get an image from your webcam and upload it to the server.

  • Why does my ipad 2 keep dropping the connection to my BT Home Hub, whilst streaming video, since upgrading to IOS 6?

Ever since i have upgraded to IOS6 My connection to my BT Hub 3 wifi router keeps dropping out whenever i am streaming video. I have an Apple TV connected as well which is fine as are other devices, its just the Ipad since the move to IOS6. It is really frustrating and i had hoped the 6.01 release would have resolved it, but it didnt. I have seen other similar comments, i just want to know if this is a common known fault which Apple are going to fix.
The strength of Apple has always been 'it just works' , i can't help but feel that there are cracks appearing in this.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Can't watch streaming videos anymore.

I am using Apple OS 10.4.11 (Tiger) with Flash Player 10.1 on a Desktop Emac and on a Laptop MacBook. Both computers are similar, if not identical in setup and software employed. Yesterday I could view streaming videos on both computers. Today I suddenly cannot view streaming videos on the Desktop, but I can on the Laptop. How is that possible? Webcams attempt to load on the Desktop, saying "Loading interface", but where the Laptop goes on to say "Initializing", the Desktop now says "Loading Error 102, please try again", but re-trying does not help. It is as though i have shut something off that was on before. I have tried downloading Java and Java Script, Flashplayer 10.102.64, checking to make sure no Firewall is up, Java is enabled, and everything else I have found online to try to remedy the situation, to no avail.
Occasionally, I accidentally trip an F key and have to work through it. Could I have tripped something that now won't let me watch streaming videos on my Desktop? Is that possible? I just can't find any answers. Any new suggestions?

    Open System Preferences/QuickTime
    Click the 'Streaming' tab
Set the speed to one slower than your network connection
    Check 'Enable Instant on'
Drag the slider 2-3 notches from the left
    Click the 'Browser' tab
    Check 'Play movies automatically'
Check 'Save movies in disc cache'
Slide the size selector all the way to the right
    Click 'Empty Download cache'
Close the panel and try viewing another video
