After downloading Firefox 4, my sites have lost the user ID's and they treat me like a stranger signing in for the first time.

Banking, store purchases, jacquie lawson, I visit a dozen sites where, as soon as I click the bookmark, the page appears with my user ID already showing, because I checked a box that said "remember." Now, when I go to these sites my user ID does not appear and no matter how many times I check that "remember" box, it will not save it. Why have I lost this feature and how do I get it back?

Sounds like a "hang at exit" problem. There are several possible causes for that error. See:
    * How to stop the running Firefox process
** In Task Manager, does firefox.exe show in the '''<u>Processes</u>''' tab?
    ** See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Kill_application
    * What may cause Firefox to hang at exit
** http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+hangs (see "Hang at exit" section)
    ** https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+is+already+running+but+is+not+responding
    * You may need to try Firefox Safe Mode
** You may need to use '''Safe Mode''' to locate the problem: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
**Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes '''<u>before</u>''' starting Safe Mode. When entering Safe Mode, do not check any items on the entry window, just click "Continue in Safe Mode". Test to see if the problem you are experiencing is corrected.
** If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling '''<u>one at a time</u>''' until the problem reappears. '''<u>You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change</u>''' via File > Restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.

  • Since downloading iOS 7.3 I have lost all my calendar entries and it wont accept new entries. Is it me or the system?

Since downloading iOS7.3 to my iphone 4, I have lost all my calendar entries and it won't let me create new entries either. Is it me or is it the system and if the latter how do I recover the data and add to it?
I am not up dating the system on my ipad in case the same thing happens. They aren't syncing on this facility.

Easy solution, thank goodness.  On your iPhone, go to settings, then to iCloud.  If your Calendar selection is turned off,  turn it on.  Your info should restore.  If your Calendar selection is turned on, then turn it off.  Choose to save calendars when asked.  After it shuts the Calendar off, turn it back on.  Your info should be restored.
Thank you to Apple support for walking me through this.  Shame on you Apple for not just telling people about this easy fix rather than making us go through all of this pain and worry.

  • After reverting to Firefox 3.6 I have lost the ability to close a webpage (down to an empty tab) when I have only one tab open. Where did the little "x" go on the single tab???

I like to be able to close the webpage I am viewing when I am finished, when there is only one tab open, so that Firefox is empty when I next want to browse the web. After upgrading to 5.0 and finding I hated it, I downgraded back to 3.6 and now the little "x" on the single tab is gone. It still appears when I have multiple tabs open, but not when there is just one. What happened? How do I get it back?

Thank you, but I already have "always show tabs bar" set.
Also, I have two computers and the other is running the exact same version of Firefox, and the exact same theme, but it does not have this problem.
To make sure I'm being clear: there is an "x" on each tab that allows me to close it when I have multiple tabs open. When I have only one tab open, there is no "x"; so in order to close the webpage I have to open another empty tab, and then close the first. My other computer has the "x" to close the tab visible even when there is only one tab so that I can close the page and have an empty (marked "(untitled)" tab). Please help!

  • Within Downloads (OS X Mavericks) I have lost the ability to click and drag an item to Trash

I can move the files to Trash in Finder, but I used to be able to do that in the Downloads list. Now, in the Downloads list if I click on a file, it launches only. I cannot drag it to Trash. This occurred since installing Mavericks...I think.
Does anyone have any ideas??  thanks

Well you have helped me a lot by confirming that you are unable to do it either. To me, that means that is not a "feature" of the new OS. I am quite certain that I was able to do that prior to Mavericks, because I did it all the time since getting this machine new last spring. Mountain Lion was factory installed and was the only OS I used until I installed Mavericks when it was released.
Now that I know it works differently, I will no longer search for a way to make it work as it used to, and just delete the files in Finder.
    Thanks again!

  • HT1338 after I unplugged my headphones I have lost the use of the internal speakers

Kbnowing this problem I NEVER insert headphones in my computer. This time it happened by accident, and it happened: no more sound from the internal speakers, and no way to solve the problem.
This is an unending problem that I've had with my previous MBP and now the same problem occurs again and I can't find an answer.
Previously the problem vanished by itself after restarting several times.
    This time not.

If you added your iCloud email account to Outlook manually rather than by using the iCloud control panel for Windows, and you are using two-step verification for your iCloud ID, you may need to create an app-specific password for Outlook in order for it to access your iCloud email account.  See Using app-specific passwords.

  • I just installed Mozilla Firefox 3.6. This is the first time have have installed Firefox. My problem is I no longer have the screen which lists which plugins need updating and researching. How can I find out which plugins need updating or researching?

After installation it told me to update or research several plugins. I updated Silverlight and JAVA. I was instructed to shut down and restart my computer to test the JAVA installation. I did this and the installation is fine. At this point I no longer had the screen with the list of plugins that need updating or researching.

THis is probably the page you saw.

You can also access it from the Firefox menu by clicking "Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins" and then clicking the Find Updates button at the bottom.

  • After downloading Firefox onto my pc I have been unable to open my AOL. Saw online that others have had this problem. Can it be resolved? If not I need to remove Firefox.

I was having trouble with downloads on Explorer and in the process of resolving the issue with Microsoft support over the phone we tested the solution by downloading itunes and firefox. That was two days ago and I have not been able to open my AOL from the icon on my screen. Explorer is ok and I can access AOL through that search engine. I read online that others have had the same problem after downloading Firefox.

Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) is an old version of Linux from 2009. You're gonna need to upgrade to a newer operating system to use a more recent version of Firefox.
My advice is to consult with the Ubuntu support forums to find out if your PC can support the latest version of Ubuntu, or if you should switch to a different "flavor" of Linux.
