After effects font misinterpretation

I'm using the "Iskoola Pota" font in After Effects and some of the letters that I type using that font are interpreted differently in After Effects CC 12.0. But the font works well in other applications such as Word and notepad. However, even if i try to copy those words from above applications and paste it to After Effects the same problem keep happening.
Thanks in advance.

AE does not support full Unicode glyph substitution. This may simply be inherent in what you type and things like ligatures or otehr contextual alternates not come through.

  • After Effects Font Issue vs. Photoshop & Dreamweaver

I installed AfterEffects and got the standard font error issue (After Effects warning: The font dictionary can't be read. Please restart your computer. If this problem persists, please go to http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_ae_fonterror ( 83 :: 3 ). HOWEVER, I don't have any font issues with Photoshop or Dreamweaver. I have a ton of fonts and going through one at a time would be a pain. How about making a program that will run the fonts that the other programs will also run?? For now, I have to get rid of AfterEffects and find something else.

There is no such thing as a "standard font error". Sorry, that's a dangerous generalization and oversimplification. I literalyl have dozens of font errors in my database and they all come with different causes and numbers, meaning they appear in different contexts/ parts of the program/ with different functions used. Since you did not provide any more info about your system or what version of AE you use, we can't even begin to guess. and just because otehr programs show certain fonts doesn't mean they necessarily show up elsewhere. You could have the same problems in otehr tools just as well, so I'm afraid "find something else" without even trying to resolve the issue is not really a productive way to go about the matter and not doing the whole thing justice. A single "bad" font can make or break a system and things like font managers, printer drivers and even your bog standard graphics driver al lhave to do with accessing and rendering fonts and could influence application programs....

  • "Unable to create font" error when starting After Effects CS4 (Windows Vista)

    Hi all
I have read a hundred posts about the "unable to create font" message that appears when running After Effects in both CS4 and CS5 versions.
On MAC, it seems that installing the Verdana fonts family is enough.
On my PC running Windows Vista, i tried unsuccessfully :
    - uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects
    - installed all the fonts of the Adobe Font Folio v11
    - looked for the "AdobeFnt.lst" to delete it, found no such file in my whole hard drive
    - changed my system language to English (USA)
    Other CS4 softwares work.
    What can i do?

See this page for some additional information about this error.
    > I forgot to mention that i also installed the 9.0.2 update. Didn't work either!
You should also install the After Effects CS4 (9.0.3) update.

  • Font in after effects blurry

    Hello all,
I was creating some typography in after effects, I am very new to the software so this might be easily fixable and I may be being a bit silly, but My font all looked crystal clear and fine and all the fonts did, but then all of a sudden something happened and now my font appears extremely pixelated in any size... Need help please?

    You may have:
    1) increased the zoom in the comp viewer window to 200 or 400 %
    2) reduced the resolution in the comp viewer window to half or quarter
    3) applied a blur effect

  • After Effects Warning: Unable to create font

    Hi,
I just updated to After effects 13.1.1.3 and am now getting the dreaded "Unable to create font" warning. The thing is I am not using any fonts in the composition. It's just a straight gopro timelapse import.
I have re-installed Verdana and Tahoma looks fine. I have run a font doctor and removed any duplicates and done a restart.
Any ideas? You guessed it - it's urgent - I got a stupid deadline.
    thanks
    Keith

And you get the warning on your Amiga 500 or Atari ST? Without exact system info and other technical details like screen settings, language settings and so on nobody can even guess. There are simply too many possible causes.

  • Why does my font/text change when I switch from Classic 3D to Ray traced 3D in After Effects?

My font/text changes when I switch from Classic 3D to Ray traced 3D. Why is it doing this? Also, I cant get the font/txt to look the same after I switch from Classic to Ray traced. How can I get it to look the same?

I am pretty new to After Effects so I hope it's not my inexperience that's causing the problem. (It probably is)
I just updated to the most current version of AE.
    I am on a mac pro late 2013 12GB 6 core. Running OSX 10.9.4
Okay so after looking at it a little closer, I think the color is what mostly changes. The first screenshot is the what the text look like with Classic 3D and the second screenshot is what it looks like after I change it to Ray traced 3D. Also under the "Mode" section..the pull down that says "Normal" disappears. I'm wondering why the font color is changing?

Well Todd, seems the newest version has the same problem, or perhaps an unrelated issue. Just upgraded to Mavericks yesterday (10.9) and I'm running AE 12.1. Closed AE last night after working on a project successfully for 4 + hours, tried to get back to work this morning and I see the following error messages. Is this related?

  • After Effects (v 12.2.0.52) warning: unable to create font

Hi, I just installed After Effects 12.2.0.52 and get the error message: "After Effects warning: unable to create font." I'm running Windows 8 on a mac. I've looked in the forum but it seems like this issue should be resolved in the new update but for some reason it isn't.
    Thanks!

Font issues can have a million causes and in your case there is probably something up with high-DPI support vs. the graphics driver, so updating the latter and checking your screen settings should be the first thing to do.

  • "After Effects Warning: Unable to create font." in CC12.1

I just updated AE to 12.1, and now no fonts work in it.  I originally got the error "Unable to load font "^0" "Helvetica Neue," but got that one resolved only to get "After Effects Warning: Unable to create font."  This happens for any area of a comp that has text.  No video will display at all where I have text.
The fonts are activated.  I did find that some of them had somehow turned off since yesterday.  I'm using FontExplorer X for font management.
They worked just fine yesterday in 12.0.  Frustration factor high on this one.
    Thanks,

  • CS4 After Effects / Illustrator Scaling Fonts Problem

I created an Adobe Illlustrator file consisting of three layers of text at three font sizes, 1296, 72, and 6 points on a WIndows Vista machine with CS4 (all updates) using the Impact font with no mods.  Then I used it in After Effects to create an 1280/720 pixel annimation that scales in from the largest font to the smallest.  I have Antialiasing set to More Accurate in Interpret Footage and PAR is not set in the Timeline.  As you can see from the example, it renders well to a point, then it begins to pixelate. I have reproduced the problem in several other scenarios.
However, when I create the same annimation in After Effects, using the same Impact font, I get smooth fonts from small to large, see below.  Obviously, I am doing something wrong, wither when I import the ai file into AE (I have tried importing it as Footage and as Vector Art), or I am creating the .ai incorrectly (just using defaults).
    I apprecriate your help!

Yes, thank you, Mylenium!  The results are seen in this clip.
