After I open and read an email how do I get back to email. I am closing the open email then having to go back to the home screen and then reopen the mail app. There has to be a better way.

After I open and read an email using my mail app, how do I get back to the email app to open an read others. I am closing the email open, going back to the home screen and reopening the mail app every time. There's got to be a better way to do this.

If you are using the iPad in portrait mode, swipe from left to right in order to bring up the preview window of your emails again.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

• How do you get back to your home screen?

i have put the music i want on my ipod and listened through it but now i cant get back to the homescreen and settings :s can any1 help?

I have the same problem. I found a thread on here which said go to your local apple genius bar(?) but I don't have a local shop.
I have followed the instructions which are:
- swipe right (or was it left?)
or - push and hold on the screen
but neither works.
I would love a solution to this, or do I have to send off my new present? :-(

I also forgot to note that this problem also persists with the new iBooks application. I cannot get past the 'Get Started' screen or access the iBooks Store. Again, all top bar menus are unresponsive.

• I can't get back to my home screen? Is the home button broke?

I can't get back to my home screen? Is the home button broke?

A simple press on the home button should always get you back to your 'app-menu'. If this is not the case there is a problem. It is possible that your button is broken. Maybe you could try first to install the latest iOS version through iTunes if you haven't done already. Or try to reset your iPhone by pressing the power button a few seconds and then Slide to Power off.
Let me know if it works!

• HT5361 I am having trouble with closing the mail app so that I can shut off my laptop. the menu bar under file doesn't give me the option to quit. that option is lister, but it is faded. command Q will not close mail either.

I am unable to shut off my laptop because I can not close the mail app. Command Q doesn't work. While "quit mail" shows up under FILE on the menu bar, it is faded and not a working option. Mail appears to be frozen. I also can not pull up the mail page despite the app being open. Clicking on the mail icon does nothing and there are no available options under the menu bar. Help, please! Thanks!

Try force-quitting (command-option-esc).

• TS1702 how can I get anyone to give us answer on the iphone apps casino game we purchased few days ago which once the token was finished we were not able to reset and play just for fun and not for gambling. we need help and not to be charged additional

few days ago I have purchased Iphone casino games from itunes apps store. One of the game was made by the company called "ARISTOCRAT" dragan game. Usually we will get basic tokens to play the game, and if we ran out of the tokens all we need to do is going into "manu" and "setting" selete "dream" and reset that we should be able to continue play the game with same amount of the basic tokens. The one game would not let us to go back to the game. There were msg came out said" game center requires an active connection to the internet"? I didn't feel comfortable because we purchased the game for $1.99 to play for fun and not to gamble. We do have credit card on your file. We don't want to be charged alot of money for something not in our well. I need help to answer the question on the following:
1. Are we able to ever play this game again without going to internet? We don't even know which site to go to, because when we press the ok button nothing else came out to direct us to any area.
2. We only purchased the few days ago order ID: MGT74GN6V7 on 10/03/12. all the other games we purchased we were able to continue to play by doing the same setting.
Thank you for your help and looking forward to hear from you!

• How do I get rid of "Acrobat is installed" in the CC-App?

I was very dissatisfied with Acrobat XI (slow as hell) so that I immediately deinstalled it with the Acrobat uninstaller in the utilities folder.
After reboot of the Mac and even after deinstallation of the creative cloud app, using the Adobe Cleaner tool and so on, now, in the CC-app "Acrobat" is still displayed as "Installed".
If I had to (I tried to get rid of this entry) reinstall Acrobat there is no possibility to do so. Because the App-download on the ACC-site directly forwards me to the CC-app which shows no further reaction, except it displays that "Acrobat is current(installed)" (whatever it reads in english; German system here). It is not. When I quit the cc-app it warns me that this also stops the update process – but there is no update process running, neither in the background, nor is there any download or anything else.
I tried to remove everything associated with acrobat from my system. But the CC-app stands strong telling me that Acrobat XI is installed. :-(
How do I repair this??
Thanks,
Olaf

Now, I cleaned the whole Creative Cloud. Reinstalled Creative Cloud. No program is shown as "Installed", although Photoshop IS installed. One exception: That f******** damn Acrobat XI still is shown as "Installed", although it is not. ANd I can NOT reinstall it. Neither trough the ACC site (which directs me to the CC-App, nor through the CC-App, which tells me it is intatlled. Described problem with Acrobat X cannot be installed is still there.
This is soooo exeptionally anyoing! Do I really have to set-up my whole Mac completely new? Would be the first time ever for years, thanks to creative cloud.

• How do I get back my old home page on firefox?

I carefully created a home page on Firefox, and it has disappeared with a blank opening page now.
I would like my old home page back. How do I do this?

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
Current Firefox versions use the default search engine (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename) to set the search engine that is used on the about:home page.
Check the browser.search.defaultenginename pref on the about:config page and make sure that it is set to the default value Google.
*browser.search.defaultenginename
Currently selected search engine:
*browser.search.selectedEngine

• There is no home page icon that I can find. How can I get back to my home page after going to aol or drudge report??? I have beta 9

I have firefox 4.0 beta 9 and on previous versions there was always an icon to return to firefox home page. When I upgraded to beta 9 this icon was not there. What's up????

You should be able to use the OpenVPN Connect app running on your iPad to connect your iPad to the VPN directly. It is an official OpenVPN client for iOS devices.
In what way is it "not compatible"? Have you tried it? Tunnelblick is an OpenVPN client, so your school's VPN is using the OpenVPN protocol. That means any OpenVPN client should be able to access it. (It is possible, but unlikely, that your school uses encryption that is not available on the iPad, but that would be very unusual.)
Otherwise, a remote control app on your iPad would let you control your Mac at home. "Back to My Mac", for example, would allow you to control your Mac remotely. The tricky part of this is that usually a VPN is set up to send all Internet traffic via the VPN server, and I'm not sure how that would work with "Back to My Mac".

• How do I get my I touch to control Apple Tv? I have my Iphone controlling it, but every time I have to use a different app it has to be completely reset to function again.

My Itouch says that home sharing is not available when I try to use it to control my Apple TV. Home Sharing is turned on in my Itunes advanced settings and my iphone works to control it (until I open another app). Also, my Apple TV seems to lose connection from my library from time to time. I appreciate any help that may be offered.

Are you using the seperate Podcast app?
Have you looked at the Users Guide?

• When I double clicked the home button my screen changed to what looks almost like a picture negative (muted colouring) I turned it off and on but noo luck. How do I get back to my usual screen colours? Thanks for your help!).

First time using the Apple Support Community. Trying to reset my screen so colors don't look like what can only be described as a picture negative. I recall double clicking the home button when this happened before but as that didn't work this time would be grateful for some help. Many thanks!

So when you triple tap the home button then it goes to negative colors, it is simple to go back. All you have to do is triple tab the home button again and it will go back if it doesnt then, go to Settings>General>Accessibility>And then switch off Invert Colors

• There has to be a better way.

I am tired of seeing posts where people come venting in a very rude and angry tone demanding an explanation regarding a poor customer service experience or a program on demand or a certain thing that they no longer have and every time, it sounds like a vent directed toward Verizon...on a peer-to-peer support forum. Or sometimes it will be an account or billing issue and every time, no fellow customer can possibly be expected to respond to that, particularly without knowing the details and when it's often involving someone's private account information. There are so many threads of this nature that I myself don't know how to respond to.
This is just one example of many that I often skip over and don't bother responding to:
http://forums.verizon.com/t5/General-Residential-Products-and/Blues-Clues-On-Demand/td-p/494183
These all sound like customer service issues and some of them just sound like "vents" because they don't explain what the issue is. There really should be a folder on the forums here for posting these vents and concerns privately so that nobody else in a peer-to-peer support forum has to hear all of this. There is already 1-800-VERIZON and a link to email customer service directly with any problems but it just seems like a lot of people come here to vent without reading about what the forum is really for. It seems to take away the whole focus of "peer-to-peer" support and turns it more into a sounding board for anyone to vent their frustrations.
I think the Verizon employees here are doing a heck of a job redirecting customers with these concerns to customer service or escalating the matter to someone who can get involved directly in resolving their matters. It just seems to me that if there were a separate private folder here readily available for that, it would keep the focus of the peer-to-peer support more organized. Perhaps there should be a private folder where a customer with these problems can post directly from the beginning if it's something that can be escalated, if it's a matter that a customer has been unable to resolve by calling 1-800-VERIZON.
Just my 2 cents.

I do understand customer service experiences that go overly poorly. We have all been there for sure and we have all gotten frustrated and annoyed from time to time when trying to resolve a particular issue, not always so easy when we're tired and burdened with other demands.
It just seems like now-a-days, many more customers are demanding and take more things personally. It seems very hard at times too to offer a solution to the problem that has worked but that someone doesn't seem willing to try. It's hard to know but I definitely give you credit for dealing with that because that's certainly not easy. We have all been there too with certain CSRs who are rude or who don't know what they're doing but I know that there were many other times as well when I would deal with CSRs who really were trying when it came to certain problems.
When it comes to my own occasional Fios issues which really haven't been too numerous, my objective is to get everything resolved in the end and unless certain customers really want to switch over to cable and just don't like Verizon, I was thinking that this particular idea, if implemented, could serve as some hope to keep customers who might otherwise give up and that there *is* a solution to the problem.
These forums have offered me a wealth of good information and I have learned plenty more about resolving computer issues from other knowledgeable customers here. Those positive aspects should really be highlighted.
