I recently cleared my search history - I deleted everything - but now my search history tabs (that were generated after each search) have disappeared, and I can't restore them no matter what I do. Also, under "History", "restore previous session" and "recently closed windows" are gray, and so can't be selected. I've "reset" Firefox to "default" status twice to no avail...help! I need those tabs!

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.

I deleted my contacts and can't restore them from time capsule

I deleted around 4000 contacts by mistake with a script deleting the annoying duplicates that come with cloud syncs.
I can't restore them from my time capsule, I have read other posts and they suggest to copy the contacts folder in a back up from my time machine, Time Machine volume -> Users ->Yued1 -> Library -> Application Support -> CONTACTS, coping the folder in to my desktop and deleting the one in my computer all with out internet connection so iCloud won't cause problems, export the contacts, connect to the internet and then once connected let iCloud do its thing and then import the exported contacts, it all sounds good but when I mount my time capsule volume I get the folder backups.backupdb>Yued's Macbook Pro>(The backup folder of the date I choose)>Macintosh HD>Users>yued1 but Inside yued1 there is no Library folder, I did the command in terminal to show all files and folders, terminal accepted it relaunched finder but still won't see library, the only folder in my time capsule with library, is inside Macintosh HD but doesn't have a contacts folder inside application support.
I have OS 10.9.4 processor 2.2 GHz i7 and 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
I don't know what time capsule I have except that is a 1TB from 2011

It takes forever to go from one window to another back in time, once I get to the one I want and click restore It goes back to my desktop as it would when restoring something else but the contacts stay the same...

After you reset your iPhone, did you enter your Apple ID into it during setup? The same Apple ID with which you made the purchases? If so, you will be able to reinstall the apps without repurchasing them.
When you go into the store and locate one of the apps you previously purchased, after a moment, the purchase price should be replaced with iCloud download button. That indicates your Apple ID already purchased that app and you need only tap the cloud button to redownload and install it.
If you have done local backups to a laptop/computer, and you cable connect your iPhone to that laptop/computer, you can use the Apps tab on the device screen to manage the apps--reinstall them.
If you had data in the Apps, whether that is retained will depend on how the particular App stored the data. If it is backed up iCloud, you will get the data back once you download the app and launch it (may take a few minutes).
EDIT: Same applies to music you purchased (including free purchases, on both apps and music).

I work for an Enterprise with around 30 devices so far, 5 of them have been upgraded to iOS 5.01 and we are having this issue, the steps below are appearing, these are both on iphone and ipad 2's with exchange 2003:-
- Exchange Calendars not sync'ing, but Yahoo account working fine.
- Create an appointment on the ipad / iphone and this sync's with Exchange.
- Close the Calendar and re-open the appointment disappears, but stay's within Exchange.
- Meetings created within the Exchange Calendar do not synch with the iphone / ipad.
This is starting to cause a lot of issues.

I am unable to delete Form & Search History (it's greyed out as an option to be deleted under the clear recent hisotry tab) help!

my son has used my computer to visit porn websites and I want to delete the Form and Search history so the drop down with these sites is eliminated. The instructions said to go to History > clear recent history and then chose Form and Search history, but it won't allow me to choose this (it's greyed out). How do I do this?

I found this link for a similar problem someone had with a Lotus Notes account. I used it to resolve my issue with a different email account (basically followed the same steps, and then looked for the particular account I needed to delete)... hope it helps!

Ok...maybe preferences are corrupted...
Go to ~/Library/Prerferences
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Quit then relaunch Safari, go to the menu bar click History > Clear History
If that helped, move the .plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash. If not, just move it back to the Preferences folder.
If you don't want history saved when you visit Facebook, go to the Safari menu bar click Safari > Private Browsing

I just found the answer somewhere else in the forum - it worked for me.
Clear it while in Safari by going to bookmarks, then "History," and then the "Clear" button in the bottom left.

There is a Torch folder within the Applications folder of your hard drive. In this folder there is an uninstaller for torch. Took me a while to work it out, but I found it!

You can right-click the text area in the search bar to "Clear Search History"

Cannot reinstall MFE after hard reset of phone

I had a spam issue on my exchange account and although all the messages got deleted on the server, i could not get them to delete off the phone. They took out all my phone memory and even after moving the messages from C: to E: this did not resolve the phone memory problem.
My phone started behaving extremely oddly (like more odd than normal). Automatically it would flip from using E: to C: for messages and the home page mail widget no longer worked. I tried to delete one for the MFE folders on C: to try and see if that helped but nothing did.
i didnt want to hard reset so i actually uninstalled MFE using the application manager. This still did not free memory so I did the hard reset to factory settings. that freed up my memory again, but now i did not have MFE available to install.
I was surprised by the hard reset, I thought i would loose my firmware upgrade and any applciations that i had downloaded, but i didnt. My downloaded apps were still there and my firmware version was still the latest - isnt that odd?
So i tried to download MFE from the Ovi store via my phone, it seems to download okay but when it tries to install i constantly get an installation failed.
Of course i cannot find any install logs on my phone, and I cant even find the download MFE installer to try and manually install. So frustrating how when browsing the directories on your phone you mostly see blank directories even though you know they must have files in them grrrr, and Y-Browser doenst seem to run on the N97.
Appreciate if someone can tell me how to get MfE reinstalled.

Because your N97 has MfE in the firmware, you can update with PCSuite Software updater. Have a look here for the installer, but I think the N97 is not available because of the mentioned reason.
