It sounds like your rear facing camera is not functioning correctly. I would start by quitting all the open apps on the phone with the following article:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists, and you have a protective case, remove the phone from the case and retest the issue.

Just look around the forum posts. Your issue is the number one problem reported by users. There are many suggestions found, some work for some users, others do not.
Some users have reported no battery problems after the upgrade. Others have improved performance after upgrading to 5.0.1 from 5.0. YMMV.
Many of the posts offer suggestions about changing various settings - there are many that affect the battery life.
Once you upgrade the iOS on a device, you cannot go back to a previous version. -
Has anybody experienced missing sent emails after updating their iPhone to IOS 5.0? Mail composed on phone appears to send but is never delivered nor does it show in sent items. Using Exchange 2010. Any thoughts??

Not sure if you were responding to me or OP - my iPhone is on 5.1. The OP at the time of writing was on 5.0.1.
Also, the OP and I had setup our Hotmail as an Exchange server (similar to IMAP), not POP3. -

After downloading and installing the update iOS 6.0 on my iPhone 4S, my bluetooth (Sony BT100CX) doesn't play Stereo anymore. It worked fine before the update, can some one help me. After some reading on the Apple web site, as suggested I try to unpair the iPhone and my BT100CX and repairing them, still didn't work
I found the answer, the update change the setting in "General/Accessibility" and put it on Mono Audio mode, just needed to turn off the Mono Audio and put the output level to the middle.

I think what he means, is when you know how when you update your phone, itunes has to restore your last back-up back onto the iphone, or ipod, and it it wont let this person. If so, im having this problem myself, i lost all my contacts and data saved on one of my back ups because itunes refuses to restore my phone from before the update, my 3GS went from 4.3.5 to 5.0.1. I hope my problem is the same here, but i have no solutions.
Im not supporting the idea, but ive heard that jailbreaks can Force the iphone to restore, but thats only what ive heard. sorry if my problem isnt the same. and sorry i couldnt provide a solution :/ -
hi, I managed to update both Itunes and my ios to the latest versions (10.5 and 5 respectively). I'm unable to see the "Sync over wifi" option in itunes. Can anyone help?
Maybe that's why I got lucky? I have 10.7.2. I have to tell you howeer that I did not check any check box in settings on the Notebook to enable Wifi sync, or in iTunes on the notebook. I did have options when setting up the iPad and I selected sync with computer rather than back up to cloud. Maybe that is another difference? I feel feel fortunate that as I type this my iPad is syncing over wifi and you're all having trouble.
Just to confirm I have iTunes 10.5 MacOSX 10.7.2 and iOS5 installed on the iPad. I'm going to dive in and do the phone now too. I will report any troubles, or pay more careful attention when the iCloud settings and set up come on the screen. Maybe I did something else I don't remember. -

For Privacy settings in iOS 7, your microphone can be restricted to certain apps. However, you should be prompted when trying to use an app and the microphone. Go into Privacy and Microphone and see if those apps are there and have access turned off.

After I updated my iPhone 5s to IOS 8, I experienced some bizarre camera quality. When I am trying to take a picture the image looks very polarized and almost like its a cartoon drawing. When I set HDR on the picture comes out more normal but my camera quality has been completely altered after updating. Here is a screen shot of what it looks like when trying to take a picture.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
