After updating to Firefox 6.0, when opening browser, I get the "No New Update" window in a tab, the regular window to homepage and a third window to the page where Firebug and other add-ons are. How can I get it to to open just to my homepage as normal?

When I open a new window, none of the UI changes I make regarding add-ons are there. They all disappear from all new windows and cannot be re-added unless I restart my computer, where I can put the elements on ONE window again. This has happened consistantly with every ui modifying element from all of my addons. Please help as I need these elements on every new window and hate tabs.

If you haven't done that yet then create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

After updating my Time Capsule, I received this message on my Airport Express: This version of AirPort Utility doesn’t support this base station." How can I fix this?
Per chance is your AirPort Express an 802.11g model? If so, you will need to use AirPort Utility v5.6 to administer it. However, this version will not install under OS X Mountain Lion without a workaround.

If you haven't already download the AirPort Utility disk image file directly from Apple Support Download
Place the resultant AirPortUtility56.dmg file onto your Mac's Desktop.
Run Pacifist.
Click on the Open Package option. Find the disk image file that you just placed on your desktop, and then, click on Open.
The utility is located as follows: Contents of AirPortUtility56.dmg > Contents of AirPortUtility56.pkg > Contents of AirPortUtility56Lion.pkg > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility 5.6.app
Drag AirPort Utility 5.6.app to your Mac's /Applications/Utilities folder.
You can now run the AirPort Utility from the Utilities folder. -

Try downloading them onto the iPad normally. If you're asked to pay for them, you can't.
The developer needs to create the two versions separately.

I found out that I have some lost contacts on my iphone 5s, they dont appear when I search but if the contact calls me I see their name. How can I get those contacts to be on the list?
You could check settings > mail contacts and calandars and see if there are any accounts (like icloud gmail yahoo) listed and if they have contacts on. Its possible if contacts were synced to one of these accounts that turning them back on will recover the missing contacts.

When I move a RAW file from IPhoto on my macbook pro to desktop or Photoshop it changes to a jpeg and reduces in size. How can I get the Raw file to move across?
I create separate folders based on the year and then the actual date of when I take images. You can make those folders anywhere on any hard drive that is connected to your Mac whether internal or external. I also use the Photoshop Photo Downloader that is included with Photoshop/Bridge and it will create the date folder so all I do is create a Year folder.
Open Bridge or click on the Bridge icon in PS and in the File menu item in Bridge select "Get photos from Camera". It can be a camera connected to your Mac or a memory card from a camera. A window will open and you then select the camera or memory card. Set the location they will be downloaded to, just the folder and you can Browse to a folder that you created, then in the "Create Subfolders drop down select what date stamp you want to use or or custom name or not to create subfolders at all.
I've never cared for iPhoto one bit. I tried it but found it way to restrictive. It likes to have full control over how you interact with your images. -
I have several computers throughout my house and work, but mainly use my "Desktop-MAIN. " I frequently add different add-ons, scripts, extensions, etc. as the need for one arises. When the time comes that I am using my laptop in bed, or my sons computer in the den (whatever) I find that they are missing many of the cute doodads I have become accustomed to on MY desktop computer. In Firefox I used FEBE backup, which would backup EVERYTHING, including extensions, add-ons, etc. I just had to take it to my other computers and run FEBE, import the backup file and "whala!" My browser had all of the add-ons and things that my main computer had - w/o having to manually add each one.
Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).

I used to get a page of thumbnails when I pressed + for a new tab but now I get a search engine that seems to be "Connect SP 6 Toolbar". I can't find it to delete in the Add-Ons or Extensions.
You can check these extensions and try to uninstall ro disable them.

Your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js

I followed the same procedure in adding a device for the second and for the third. The second one worked, but not the third.
As far as I know, all software is up to date.ok.. I tried this three times and kept getting that access denied thing when I clicked post my questions. So now maybe I wont have to typ this a fifth time....
I have a MAC computer with Sync. Was set up under sync Beta. I have an Android phone synced to it that was synced using the pair this device function. It works perfectly. I just got a new Android Tablet and am trying to add it to my sync and it does not seem to have the pair my device function. It insists I log into my sync account. So I try it and it tells me invalid userid/password. I verify and it is the exact email address userid that shows as being my sync account on the MAC. I verify the password on the MAC and it tests out fine. Try the tablet again and invalid.. So I try to reset my password on the tablet and am told my email address/account name does not exist. I just verified it AND Synced my MAC using it!! I have my recovery Key but there is no place to input it into the tablet. There is no place on tablet to enter the link device codes. How can my account be valid and in use on two devices but invalid and nonexistant on the new one? And How do I get the New one to sync with other two? -
On 7-20-2014 I installed various windows updates. Later that day I shut down my computer and after a few hours powered it back on. At this point my system started running chkdsk and was unable to read portions of the disk.
After it went through all 3 phases it booted up fine. So I ran two tests. A Seagate HDD tool for windows and ran activeSMART tools. Both of them said there are errors to my HDD and that I should back up and get a new HDD.
It just doesn't make sense that in the span of a few hours my otherwise perfectly fine working HDD would send back all of these errors. There are no sounds coming from the drive to indicate mechanical failure, and otherwise I have no problems using the system;
no slow downs opening files etc.
Please if anyone knows of any current Windows Updates that could be causing this I would very much like to know as that is one of the only things I can think of that could be causing these errors. Not all HDD failures are accompanied by noise. Imagine failure of hdd electronics. Not all mechanics stop functioning with noise.
I have never experienced any update problem that had caused mechanical failure. Perhaps large disk activity during updates accelerates the disaster process in your computer.
In my personal opinion the "low price goal" is behind the higher failure rate. For disk vendors it is cheaper to replace several failked disks than do thorough test of all disks (or memory, etc.) I had mechanical disk that ended its life in
two months... (Do not be fooled by large MTBF values. These are extrapolated data from hdd sets.)

Are you using the latest version of MS Word? It’s possible you can restore the corrupt file from the last saved version or the automatically saved version. Have you tried that? MS Word uses a folder called Autorecover to store temporary versions of your file. Hopefully there’s a good version in that folder. Use Finder to search for Autorecover if needed.

I'm running MacOS 10.6.8 and Firefox 5.0.1. When I open Tools->Add Ons, the list of extensions is empty. This happened after I restarted Firefox after having it running for a couple of days. Since then FlagFox reports a "missing IPDB", but I#m not sure if this is related.
Thanks a lot for your reply! Unfortunately the problem is that clicking on the extensions icon as you propose only brings up an empty add-on list, so there is no chance to uninstall FlagFox (it says "You don't have any add-ons of this type installed", see also the attached image). As mentioned, all other add-ons are running well.
Is there any other way to access the add-on? I'm not afraid of the command line btw. ;-)
