I discovered today that the list of add-ons disappeared, but all add-ons are working normally. How can I access the list of extensions?
I'm running MacOS 10.6.8 and Firefox 5.0.1. When I open Tools->Add Ons, the list of extensions is empty. This happened after I restarted Firefox after having it running for a couple of days. Since then FlagFox reports a "missing IPDB", but I#m not sure if this is related.
Thanks a lot for your reply! Unfortunately the problem is that clicking on the extensions icon as you propose only brings up an empty add-on list, so there is no chance to uninstall FlagFox (it says "You don't have any add-ons of this type installed", see also the attached image). As mentioned, all other add-ons are running well.
Is there any other way to access the add-on? I'm not afraid of the command line btw. ;-)

Okay so my IPod touch 4 won't play music through any headphone I put into the port. I've tried it with 4-5 different headphones but it still won't work. How can I fix this? - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.

- Reset all settings

- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Despite ticking the box "remove all website data", when I reset Safari not all stored cookies are eliminated. How can I overcome the problem? Or is it a bug?
I have done a little experimenting: 1-close all open windows (I found that I had to do this step in order to keep Safari from hanging-will be explained later). 2: Remove all data in Prefs. 3: Immediately close the prefs window (no window should be open at this point) and quit Safari. Try to complete step 3 fast as possible; I have it down to a few seconds. The reason I urge you to close all windows is that Safari hangs until forced to quit upon immediately quitting after removing cookies. I think the auto page reload in Lion is the cause of these hiccups but I can't be sure about that. The hasty quit I found is crucial to success. I'm trying to install bootcamp and XP, but when keyboard does't work. How can I eject the disc?

XP isn't supported in BootCamp, you'll have to use the free VirualBox or one of the other commercial virtual machine softwares to run it in a window on OS X. The performance isn't going to be good enough for 3D games or heavy CPU ones, but good enought for most general use software.
Apple doesn't supply the hybrid MBR and hardware drivers required to run XP in BootCamp any longer. If you were on Snow Leopard 10.6 it's still possible, but not Lion or Mountain Lion.
This is what you do to resolve your problem.
1: Hold the power button down to force a hardware shutdown (emergency use only use the Apple Menu > shutdown all other times)
2: Press and hold the option/alt key on the keyboard.
3: Boot the computer and enter Startup Manager
4: Keep pressing the eject key on the keyboard, the disk will eject.
5: Select OS X to boot from by clicking on the volume and the little arrow that appears.
6: Set Startup Disk in System Preferences to OS X.
7: Head to BootCamp Utility and use it to remove the BootCamp partition.
8: If you used Disk Utility, then use that to remove the second partition and absorb the remaining space back into the OS X partition.
9: Install VirtualBox, if on 10.8 you migh have to control/right click and "Open" to bypass Gatekeeper controls for the installer and/or program at least once.
10: Read the instructions how to setup and use VirtualBox. -

To get back those apps, follow these directions:
Tap App Store.
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Tap Updates.
Tap Purchased on the resulting screen.
Locate the app in your Purchased tab.
Tap the download icon.
The app will begin downloading and you'll be taken back to your home screen.

Clarification: I notice that items I have recently downloaded remain in what appears in the screen header as a file titled "Downloads" with the Firefox logo in front of it -- I assume this is a file Mozilla creates. I can't find it when I look for it. I only get to see this "file" and its contents when I need to download something to read or view. If I could find this "file", I wouldn't have to download, again, something I just downloaded yesterday for a reference check, and then need to check again today. Please excuse my sometimes lack of computer savvy.
You can right-click an item in the Download Manager widow and choose "Open Containing Folder" to go to the download location of that file.
