After Visio install, most sites will not load.

Windows7
A few days ago after installing Visio Pro 2010, Firefox stopped loading most websites. IE won't load any sites.
Uninstalling Visio solved the issue for 1 internet session. I repeated the install/uninstall twice more with the same results.
I used Recovery/System Restore to the point before the install, and that worked a couple times. Now that doesn't help at all.
I ran full system scans with avast, and SuperAntiSpyware and both came up clean. While System Restore worked, I downloaded CCleaner and cleaned some registry stuff. That didn't make any difference.
Some of the sites that work include: gmail, annualcreditreport, sierratradingpost.
Sites that don't work: yahoo, google, download.cnet.
I am out of ideas; need help.

I think there is more to it than just some missing frameworks.  You don't know where it was in the update process when it failed.
Do a google search for the updates you need.  They will usually be somewhere on the apple site where you can download them and do explicit (re)installs, one by one.
You might want to get yourself back to a reliable starting point first by attempting to reinstall the 10.6.8 combo updater.  Indeed this is a good example of what I just suggested for the other updates.  If you google "apple 10.6.8 combo updater" you will see the hit for the updater.  That will take you to apple page for that updater.
Note, the ceneral download index for apple software is: http://support.apple.com/downloads/ so you could search that as an alternative to google.

  • My site will not load in design view?

I can not figure this out for the life of me but I am hoping someone here can give me a simple solution. I have spent endless hours trying to figure out why my site will not load when attempting to open any of the template or html files of my local site in design view. They open fine in Code view but when I click on design view, I get an hour glass that only goes away if I close dreamweaver using ctrl + alt + delete and use the task manager to close the process. My web address is www.thebluedot.net if that helps...
Any web pages outside of my actual site open fine so I am not sure what is causing the issue with my site itself? I have opened the template and have deleted all the code from it and attempted to view the file in design view and still get the same problem. Is there perhaps something simple that I am overlooking? My site worked fine in design view several days ago and I can not think of any changes that I made that may be causing the problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the entire adobe suite and I am still having the issue.
I am running on Windows Vista and have 4 gigs of ram and a 2.6 Core Duo processor if that helps.
Please help me out here. Really would appreciate any help you can provide!

    Really appreciate your response.
I am using Dreamweaver CS4 and I tried deleting the config folder. Still no luck...
Eerything opens fine except for files fom my site. I have deleted the site from Manage Sites and recreated it but still am having the same problem.
When I delete the Configuration folder do I have to reset it up some how? Why is dreamweaver rendering all my other files outside of my site folder successfully in desgn view and not giving any other files an issue? I really hope I can get this resolved soon.
    Again, appreciate your help.

  • Using Firefox 27 on the Mac. Video on most sites will not now work. I know I am not alone with this problem. What gives?

Using Firefox 27 on the Mac. Video on most sites will not now work. I know I am not alone with this problem. What gives?

    Hi KevinMcL,
Thank you for contacting support. I am also using your set up and I experience video issues when I have hardware acceleration turned on.
Other steps you can take to improve your experience:
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • FF5: Some sites will not load, but no error messages

I'm using Firefox 5 on Windows Vista Home SP1.
Since I upgraded to FF5, some sites either simply will not load. No error messages are given - the green circle icon in the tab just keep spinning.
There's two pages that I visit daily that this happens to (though there are other pages).
For the page http://diablo.incgamers.com, on the bottom left of the page it says "Read ssl.gstatic.com".
The other page is http://www.jewelrydod.com but there's no message like the other page.
Both of those sites load properly in Chrome and in IE.
The pages also do not load in Firefox in Safe Mode.
    Help?
    Thanks!!!!
    Paul

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

2 days ago a favorite web site that I visit daily will not load now???? I do not get any error page. It just keeps trying and trying but will not load. I have tried several things, checking pop up blocker, cleared cache, cookies, temp. internet files, etc. Any ideas????
Check the route with the use of the tracert command at the command line. tracert server or site name. This will show you where the connection stops. It could be lost on someones router, or the site could be down. Just an idea to get you in the right direction.

  • A favorite web site will not load in 4.01, but did in earlier version. Says "This website does not supply ownership information. Connection Not Encrypted." What can I do to use this important website?

I just this morning updated to the latest Firefox version, and then find that this much used site will not open. It gives the two messages I list above. The site is www.30god.com.
I cannot figure out what setting to change to get the site to work.
    I much need some counsel.
    Thanks.
    James Muller

I appreciate this option, to go back to an earlier version, but I really want to use the latest FF, so the counsel from cor-rel, about dealing with cache and cookies, is the solution I pursued. And it worked!
But thanks for responding to me. It's great to know that such support is out there.

  • One page on my site will not load

    Hello
After publishing an article, I clicked the link that led back to my site and got an error window which said...
    "The page isn't redirecting properly.
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."
...I checked the html copy if the site that I have on my PC and the page in question loaded properly.
I deleted the online site and uploaded a fresh copy that I knew to be working.
I checked the page again and got the same error message.
The address I am using is correct.
I went through Firefox's help section and carried out the trouble shooting at this page. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-say-cookies-are-blocked-unblock-them
This involved deleteting my history and enabling cookies.
There are about 120 pages on my site and it appears that only the one page is affected.
This is a recent problem as the page was ok a week or so ago.
    I welcome your insights.
    Richard

    Can anyone help please?
    Thank you
    Richard

  • Some (not all) sites will not load properly, (such as 'Outlook', MSN, Flicker) they look as if in a ''safe'' mode'' and can't be viewed properly.

Hello! If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful!
I am unable to properly view a number of, but not all, web pages/sites.
I have tried all the recommendations I have found thus far; however, nothing resolved the issue.
I have tried: clearing catch, clearing cookies. Checked ‘’load images automatically’’. Enabled JavaScrip. Adblock is disabled. Flashblock is disabled. Everything I have is up-to-date.
Examples of, but not limited to, sites unable to view properly are: Firefox Support, MSN, Flicker, Outlook email, Yahoo.
    They work fine using Explorer.
Further detail/explanation of images not showing where a image/picture should be: What I see is an opaque thin red box and in that box is a small opaque red flag.
    THIS IS MOST PERPLEXING!!!

Try, as cor-el said, the extensions one by one, disable one, then enable it if the problem is not there, and disable the next extension.
(your extensions we can see in "system details")
    thank you

  • My ipod after trying to erase it, will not load after 3 days on the same screen

I was trying to erase all my data off my iPod 5th Gen, after I start the process it all starts well until the very last step (I think) will just not complete the job it's just stuck on the same screen it has been for the last 3 days ind the only thing i can do is hold the power and home button until it either reboots or it turns off when i stop the reboot short. The screen looks like when you updating an apple product and all there is, is the apple symbol and the loading bar. But the loading bar isn't filled at all. What should I do???

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Verizon Webmail site will not load on Samsung Galaxy Tab SCH-1800

Is there some compatibility issue with Verizon's Webmail site and the Galaxy Tab?  In the past I have easily been able to access my Webmail account directly with the browser on my Galaxy Tablet.  But over the past year or so, that access has gone away.  At first I was told to download the FiOS app to my tablet.  That worked for about 6 months.  Now even the FiOS app does not work.  When I type any version of the "netmail.verizon.net" or "webmail.verizon.net" or "myverizon/webmail.net" I get redirected to the Home Verizon page.  From there, I don't get any login links and thus I can not access my email root server from this tablet.  I've called Customer Support on numerous occassions but nobody seems to have any clue why this is happening.  Does anybody know if there is some compatibility issue with this old tablet and the website?  Perhaps the platform is no longer supported, or the Android OS is too old??  Very frustrating that nobody can answer this simple question.

Samsung is usually late to the party.. no real info but i know most of their devices are last to get any updates

  • Some Web Sites Will Not Load Up and Some Will Load Correctly

I have not been able to load up mypoints.com and manybooks.net in a week. Also Amazon loads up crazy with a lot of boxes on the top and side with writing in the background of the boxes. I have loaded up Amazon on Google Chrome and IE and it works fine.

Eric - thanks for your help.
I have finally fixed the problem.  In network preferences, I set the DNS settings to 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
I initially only set these for the Airport, but then noticed that these were different to the ones for the ethernet; once I set the same values for the ethernet all sites gained instant access again.

  • I get this message and site will not load"OCSP is not yet valid" how do I fix this

MY system including firefox has begun not trusting any sites at all. I have to confirm exceptions to get onto the websites. All the certificates are bad "According to firefox" and after a while I get the OCSP is not yet valid error message too. what happens next??? can this be fixed?

    You're welcome.
That may have been a fluke from yesterday's Daylight Savings time change here in North America, but if that happens again and you have a desktop PC the "coin" battery on the motherboard may need to be replaced.

  • I have cleared caches & cookies till I am blue in the face but the National Lottery site will not load-says "connection reset" every time Please help?

I have followed all the advice on the forum time and again and I think I managed to get onto the Lottery site once but if I did anything I got the same message again....."the connection was reset"
It is only this site....what else can I do ?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • UC320W Install, Web GUI Will not load.

    Hi,
I just purchased a UC320W, Did a factory reset, and try to access it via the default 192.168.10.1 address, and the blue cisco page loads (has cisco logo, and green bar), however, it never kicks over to the login page for me to start the configuration utility.
I have tried Chrome, FireFox, IE (All on Windows XP Pro, and Vista)
    What could be wrong??
Also, I wish to use this setup for just 3 phones, and 4 computers, Can I just throw everything on a Cisco 3550 switch and have just one VLAN?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The version of UC320W may be not compatible with the Adobe Flash. There is a known incompatiblity with Adobe Flash Player 11 and UC320W  Configuration Utility running on firmware earlier than 2.1.2. Please check the following link to get the workaround.
