Flight Booking Tutorial

Hi All,
Im trying to deply and run the tutorial on flight booking available. I have imported it in developer studio and deployed it. The JCo destinations are alse created and working. I can see the output as required when I run the application, I don't get any error. But the details entered are not getting written to the database table SBOOK.
Any ideas as to why this is happening?

IPhoto 11 photo book save placed photos

I made a photobook for my client. She likes it.
I took over 150 photos and used 48 photos for the book.
In the photobook screen, the photos I placed in the book are check marked.
The ones not used are clear.
Is it possible to extract only those placed 48 photos and put them in a separate album?
I am trying to avoide going through all 150 photos and try to find the 48 used ones.
Is there a simple highlight, drag and drop kind of procedure?

There is a way. If you don't have any other photos flagged in the library you can go thru the pages and flag each photo in the book. To flag the photos you need to get into the edit mode and then use the Photos ➙ Flag Photo menu option. The next photo in the book can be brought into the edit mode by using the forwared arrow on the keyboard. Create a smart album with the criteria Photo is Flagged and you'll have all of the book photos grouped in that smart album.
Or you can use ratings which is easier as you don't need to go into the Edit mode. Click on each photo on a page and use the Photos ➙ My Ration menu option to assigna a specific rating to the photos in the book:
If your library has photos other than that apply to your client you might want to consider this tutorial for this book, iP12 - Archiving an iPhoto 9 (11) Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date, for this book and using a separate library for future books.

The first step - a book ?

I have college experience using Java 2, working with Swing etc. but want to learn about Java Server Pages.
Could someone suggest a suitable practical, tutorial/examples based book to get me going? I consider myself a beginner. There are many books out there, so I appreciate your suggestions and help.

There are a number of excellent online resources but once in a while it's kind of handy to have a physical book at hand. If that's what you want, I'd wholeheartidly recommend Marty Hall's stuff, specifically "Core Web Programming, 2nd Ed." and "Core Servlets and JavaServer Pages, 2nd Ed."
I've not had a chance to read O'Reilly Publishing's JSP specific stuff, but I've been very happy with their other Java offerings and I'd definitely consider their books to be near or the top of the list. I think they just recently came out with a volume on Struts which does incorporate JSP, Servlets and tag libraries.

Java books/reading over Christmas?

The last post got me thinking... Is there any Java book you'd like to get your hands on? (Santa, are you using Echelon to snoop? Filthy Rich Clients, please) Or will you be using the time to (re)read a book that's been sitting on the shelf? Or would you like to nominate the best new Java book of 2007? What are people reading?

Bruce Eckel's "Thinking In Java" is a much better choice. It's free and available on-line. Google for it. (He also has a "Thinking in C++", which you might like.)

I was kind of kidding as I've written one and therefore have a vested interest.
However, hibernate.org should be your first port of call.
The creators of Hibernate have written a tome called "Java Persistence with Hibernate" that I've not read, but which has good reviews so far. They also wrote "Hibernate In Action" which is good, but slightly out of date. I'd also say that that one's only so-so for beginners.
My book is Beginning Hibernate, which I think is good for (duh) beginners.
There are others, but I don't feel obliged to try and sell you them as the ones I've read are mediocre.

Please help me with a simple flash game problem

I am trying to learn how to make flash games with Adobe flash 5.5. I am doing a tutorial from a book and am stuck.
The game is called concentration and you are suppose to match 2 tiles of the same shape. there are 10 shape tiles
and 1 question mark tile. These tiles are held in an array. 20 tiles are suppose to be displayed 5 to a row with 4 rows
and the question mark is suppose to be up on all 20. My problem is I get a blank screen when I test the movie. I
think the code is good but I beleive I have not uploaded the tiles right. I did upload the 11 tiles to the library and have
those 11 tiles and tile_movieclip in the library. Here is the code:

To create the tiles, draw 10 distinct shapes in the first 10 frames of your symbol, and
the back of the tile in the 11th frame. You are free to draw them as you want, but I suggest you make them as 90 pixels squares with registration point (starting x and y position) at 0, because these are the properties of the tiles used in this chapter's
examples. At least, they should all be the same size.
It didnt say put in a library. It is saying to draw them in frames of symbol but it didnt walk me through that. Can you guide me through this? I also was looking at how to add the link identifier but it said I need a popup window but I cant see one. I thought that was done
when I went to insert new symbol. It said something about actionscript linkage. I am familliar with perl, java and c++ so I can follow the code so far but I dont have much understanding of the flash interface. I made the 10 shape tiles and the 1 question mark tile
in paint. They are .jpeg images.

Build a EJB/ Application with Sun One Studio and deploy to Weblogic

Dear all,
My boss require me to use Sun One Studio 4 update 1 to do the development, but
I find it's a nightmare to deploy the EJB/ application to the WebLogic 6.1.
I've already installed the weblogic plug-in in the Sun One Studio.
During deploying I could not find any setting that ask me for the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
So I think the deployment will fail.
Is there any others tutorial or e-book that can help me to familiar with the deployment
process?

JSF custom tag body content problem

Hi, I'm having some problem with a custom tag I built, but the body of the tag content is not rendered correctly.
I have:<foo:bar>
    <ul>
        <li>blah</li>
        <li>blah</li>
    </ul>
</foo:bar>
</pre>But the rendered html source look like this:    <ul>
        <li>blah</li>
        <li>blah</li>
    </ul>

The <ul> tags are supposed to be inside of the  & . I've declared in TLD it has JSP content. I've compared to the J2EE tutorial and corejsp book again and again, couldn't figure where I went wrong. So, am I missing something?

System preferences keeps crashing

Bit of a problem here
In system preferences on my iMac under the users & groups option i'm trying to change the login options from list of users to automatic login
Everytime i try to select the name for automatic login system prefs keeps crashing & i cant change it
I am trying to set up OS x Server on my iMac but ive uninstalled i'm still learning & i'm going through a tutorial from a book
I have looked at a few threads already & ive tried running a couple of apps called maintainance & onyx ive also repaired permissions on disk utility
I have also tried removing the system preferences plists as someone mentioned on another thread
Anyone had a similar problem & found a solution
I can copy & paste the crash file if needed
Please dont say i have to reinstall the OS

I have just tried that i tried to set the new account as automatic sign in in preferences from both accounts
I did log out of each account when i did it too
I have copied the crash report to a textedit file which i can post if you need to see it
