AIR 2.6 ImageDecodingPolicy problem

Hi,
I was very excited when I saw AIR 2.6 release note, and all its cool new features - especially the ability to decode bitmaps asynchronously. Sadly, my excitement didn't last long.
- I downloaded AIR 2.6 SDK, installed in my Flex 4.5 SDK
- then I created blank flex project with 2 lines of code:

- the compiler was happy, didn't complain - even popped the code hints
- when I launched the 'app', I got this nasty message:

I coppied all fiels from the AIR 2.6 SDK including adl.exe. I also tried exporting release build and running it with AIR 2.6 Runtime that I have installed and is up-to-date. Application descriptor file is set to air 2.6.

PS: what the hell is "E:\dev\hero_private\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\managers\LayoutManager.as:1180"??? "E" is my DVD Drive, which is currently empty

Using amxmlc, I have set target-player to 11, and compile without errors.
Running with adl, I get the same error as the original post.
Is setting target-player the same as "setting the SWF version"? Any suggestions? Is something I set as a parameter for adl?

Also have parallel on snow leopard but it is no longer supported according to mac website - if i upgrade am i going to lose my parallel and will have to buy a new one!!!

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

Update 2, if it can help someone:
Finally I don't manage the drag and drop by myself using
DragManager.doDrag(...). Why? Because doing so if the user clicks
on the scrollbars, on the datagrid header or on an empty row, it
triggers the drag start and that is ugly. By letting Flex managing
the drag and drop process, this doesn't append. BUT I was unable to
use a custom proxy image then. Until I found this article:

The trick is:
1) save the mouseX and mouseY using the mousedown event.
2) override dragImage(), as the article says, to create your
custom proxy, attaching to it a FlexEvent.UPDATE_COMPLETE event,
saving it to a class variable and returning it.
3) When you receive the FlexEvent.UPDATE_COMPLETE event, you
update the proxy position (that is saved in a class variable) using
the saved mouseX and mouseY and you remove the listener to the
event:
When you drop the proxy, you access the dragged items in :
event.dragSource.dataForFormat("items")
Hope this helps, I spent lot of time trying to resolve this
issue! Now it works perfectly! :-)

My macbook air 11" 2009 wireless problems

my macbook air 11" 2009 has problems with wireless connectivity. I find it takes a while to connect/find a network whether its just booted or come back from sleep. Even then it takes forever to load the initial page but can hang up periodically.
It has only just started since upgrading to Yosemite.
Any idea how to fix it anyone.

It sounds like the Wi-Fi connectivity on your MacBook Air is not operating as expected. There could be several potential causes of this behavior.
The first step I would take to isolate and resolve the behavior is using the Wireless Diagnostic that's built in to OS X.

MacBook Air mid-2011 battery problems

I have a mid-2011 MacBook Air, and I recently replaced the battery. Once the new battery was installed, the computer would operate from battery, but would not recognize the AC adapter and charge the battery. If I disconnected the battery, then the computer would power from the AC adapter. After searching this forum, I found that many, many users of practically all types of Mac laptops have similar problems. It seems that Apple has had this problem in various forms going back at least seven years. So, I found suggestions to reset the SMC, which I did. The reset procedure for the MacBook Air is supposed to be the CTRL-Shift-Option + Power button, however this did not work for me. Apple does not want users opening the case to their products, but I already had the case open to replace the battery, so I tried the alternate procedure of disconnecting the AC adapter and the battery, and holding down the power button for 5 seconds to reset the SMC. This worked, and I could operate from battery, or plug in the AC adapter to charge the battery.
This was all yesterday at the office. Then, I took the computer home, and it would no longer charge from the AC adapter. It would, however charge from my Thunderbolt display. Today, at the office, I have taken the computer apart again, and tried both SMC reset procedures again. The only way I can get the computer to charge from the AC adapter is to disconnect the battery. If I disconnect the battery, then plug in the AC adapter, then plug the battery back in, then the battery will charge. However, if I disconnect the AC adapter, it will not charge the battery after I re-connect it. I also have a Thunderbolt display in the office, and its power connecter will charge my computer every time. I have coworkers with MacBook Airs as well, and my AC adapter will charge every other Mac that I plug into it. My computer will not charge from any AC adapter unless I follow the procedure above.
So, to summarize, my computer will not charge from the AC adapter unless I disconnect the battery. I can then connect to the AC adapter and reconnect the battery. This is not a feasible long-term approach because I would like to keep the case closed. My computer will charge from two different Thunderbolt displays. I do not think that there is a problem with my AC adapter, because various other computers will charge from it just fine, and my computer will charge from it under certain circumstances. I have searched the internet for any other SMC reset procedures and have found none. I have noticed in my searching that this problem PLAGUES Mac computers of various types. Does anybody have any other suggestions, or is there anybody on the forum that actually understands the low-level functions of the SMC and how to make this work? I work on electronics for a living and have access to a lab with everything I would need to perform any kind of diagnostics or surgery on this computer.
Please do not suggest that I take the computer to an Apple Store or an Authorized Apple service shop. It has been my experience that the people working there have only the most basic understanding of how to fix anything, and even if they do, the cost is such a significant amount that it would simply be more cost-effective to buy a new computer. This computer is not under warranty, but it is just a little over two years old. It would seem a shame to toss it out.

process elimination is extremely easy. Forget the thunderbolt connection.
1. you do not indicate having using another AC charger, regardless of your mention of it working "on 2 diff macs"
2. its unfortunate you didnt borrow your co-workers charger on YOUR Air, or did you?......, because you did NOT mention same.
The 2 capacitors on the charging block board of the charger can easily blow (one usually).
Borrow another charger , a NEW one and verify.
If same, its your IO board.
There's only a 3-component path to diagnose on a battery
1. charger
2. IO board
3. logic board
(4. and the battery itself, but you already claim to have just replaced it).
Its not your logic board, however there is an incredibly slim chance of same, almost none however.
Im going to assume the "new" battery is a genuine Apple battery and not an Ebay "cheap" clunker?
this is what on hand diagnostics and a volt meter are for, which cannot be done online.

Adobe AIR Seamless Install Badge PROBLEM

After quite a bit more testing and some digging around under the hood, I've solved the problem. Below is what I found out, hopefully this will help others out with the same problem:
When downloading Air and the Air app in one go using the install badge, trying to open an SQL connection was throwing errors on most machines (it was not limited to Macs alone). If i down loaded Air separately, then installed the app with install badge (with air already installed) it worked on some machines.
The error was caused by trying to create the database file at the wrong in the file system:

var dbFile:File =File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath (databaseName);
I'm not sure why the different installation process showed up the errors on some machines and not others, but it's fixed now.

Air Flex with work problem in swfLoader...

I have a problem with swfLoader in Air Flex. I create a swf flash that must be loaded into Air application. When I run it insde of Flex Builder, all is ok. But when I install it, the embed flash dont work in component "InputText" and the TextField (in mode "InputText")... Simply I cant click in this and keyboarding... The problem dont is in SandBox...

Due to some reason the text input fields used inside the flash presentation are not editable only when the application is running on installed AIR.
When the flash presentation is loaded in Flex it is not allowing the user click inside or edit the text input, to over come this we are setting the focus to text input field when ever the user clicks on it so that the cursor focus is set inside the text input field and user will be able to enter data.
Below is the code change implemented in flash.

AIR 1.5 Install problem

I have the same problem as many others but I could not find
my solution.
I get this error when trying to install AIR 1.5:
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation
may not be allowed by your administrator
I have 1.1 installed when I try to uninstall it I get this:
An error occurred while uninstalling Adobe AIR.
Uninstallation may not be allowed by your administrator.
Then in add remove programs it shows that it's uninstalled
but there had been a problem after that the 1.5 installer dose not
try to update but start a new install but still can't.
I'm the administrator, here is the log:

It looks like you have older versions of AIR installed.
Could you follow the advice in the end of this message:

AIR HTML Component - URL problem

We face the below mentioned problem. Attached herewith are code sample and simulation for the problem. Would be great if someone could help us.
Due to problems with uploading the attachment here, please send a email to the following email-id ([email protected]) and I shall send the attachment in response.
HTML Component provided in AIR is used to access different URLs one after another. When we switch from one URL to another, the previous link gets loaded prior to opening new link. Is there a way to trap events which is happening during loading of URLs.
* Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install HTML_Component_TrapEvent.air and execute the code.
2. Initially Home page is displayed.
3. Click on anyone of the three buttons labeled: Yahoo, Google, Rediff.
4. Respective website homepage is displayed. Wait till entire page is loaded. For example, assume Yahoo button is clicked, Yahoo website will be loaded.
5. Click on Button labeled "Home". Home Page gets Loaded.
6. Then click on Button labeled "Google". The HTML component with Previous web page (in this case Yahoo web page) is displayed until Google web page is loaded.
* Expected Result:
The HTML component last loaded should not be visible when the current component is loading. In other words, Yahoo website should not be visible when Google site is loaded.
* Actual Result:
The HTML component last loaded is displayed until the current component is loaded. Which means, Yahoo website is displayed until Google is loaded.
* Any Workaround: NONE

AIR Badge - Publisher ID Problem?

In order to check if an AIR application is installed (using the ProductManager class) I have to use the publisher ID contained in the application's "META-INF/AIR/publisherid" file, not the publisher ID defined in the code signing certificate used to publish the application.air install file.
Is that expected behaviour or is there a problem with the AIR runtime (1.5.2.8)?

I need your help with regards to signing, certificates renewal and publisher id.
Our team is working on a serious AIR app out there, having a considerable install base. We've now renewed our certificate for the second time, but this time the compiler would generate a different publisher ID. How could that possibly happen, anyone any idea?
Please note, that we've already done that before, we're completely aware that publisher id is generated based on details in the certificate. We also had to renew the previous certificate a couple of times, because different details was causing a different publisher ID. It is totally confirmed that all the details in the current certificate are exactly the same, all of them. But still, the publisher ID is different and that is a nightmare. I'll can share other more complicated explorations further on in the discussion, but this is the first question that needs to be answered.

Ipad air sound and battery problem after updating to ios 7.1

After ios 7.1 update my ipad air passcode sound is muted for first digit. The audio volume is lowered in video player.
The worst thing is battery is draining faster.

check the brightness level on your iPad , try to lower it and see if this solve the problem .

First publish to AIR in Flash CS6 problem

I get this error after trying to install the .air file from a successful publish to AIR from Flash CS6. The file I'm using has been working fine for publish to AIR in CS5.5. Anyone know what is up here? I'm not using teh embedded runtime publish option.
"This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance."

Hi David ,
The reason for the above problem could be that the same application exported with different certificates, and the new one which you are trying to install conflicts with the old one.
Try the following steps :
1. Make sure you uninstall the AIR application completely.Search for the application from its App name which you had specified in the "AIR Settings" dialog.
2. Install the AIR application again.
If this also doesn't help then
You can check by changing the ID of the application and install it as a brand new app that has never been installed before.

Air for Android language problem

i have an Air for Android APK compiled by Flash CS5.5 that shows support for languages that are not in the app. I successfully removed these in my iOS apps, but am unable to find out how to do this for Android apps. Anyone developed a process to fix this?

I'm still having this issue with every export. This seems to be a problem that just won't die.
