Air Application won't work

New to fireworks. I'm trying to prototype an air application. I have succussfully created it once, but my links were not created yet so I started again from the original psd file. Now, no matter what I do it will not finish the creation. I get results like: no such file D:\agaftp\Pages\newair\Images\welcome page_r4_c10_s, or no such file D:\agaftp\Pages\newair\Image.
Seemingly a different error each time. The file is all states except for one page, which I made the master page. I have optimized the file, and no matter what I do, I keep getting these different errors. I'm almost ready to abandon any thought of my cool app.
Can anyone help me?

Java applications won't work

On my iMac, Java applications won't work. I tried opening minecraft, and several other Java applications. All of them have a message that pops up saying, "Not compatible version of Java 1.5+ is available." I tried updating it but their is no update for Java it says on my updater. Running 10.6.8

All Adobe Air applications have stopped working

After running Bit Defender - all my Adobe Air applications are no longer working.
These are Tweet Deck
SEESMIC Desktop
basically they won't communicate with twitter - they say user name and password is wrong when it is not.

That's odd, I had a problem with my Twitter/Tweetdeck feed last week but it seemed to resolve itself. I'm not sure what AIR could be doing to interfere here. Have you tried a native application out to see if it is able to authenticate you with Twitter? You might also want to check in the TweetDeck forums to see if others have encountered this issue. Please let me know how it goes.

Adobe AIR Application won't install

Also, tried reinistalling latest version of Adobe AIR but a message appears saying that the latest version of Adobe AIR is already installed, even though I thought I had unistalled it with the help of Microsoft Fix it (i.e. it no longer appeared in the least of programs installed on the computer).
I am using a Samsung laptop with Windows 7.

Please note that I managed to resolve this myself by first of all deleting the Adobe AIR folder contained within C\Program Files (x86)\Common Files of my hard drive and then re-attempting the Adobe Air application installation. This immediately caused a prompting of an update to Adobe AIR, which I ran. It seems that the Adobe AIR application installation package contained an older version of Adobe AIR than was already installed within the 'Common Files' folder, and this apparently led to the error (sorry, I cannot explain it any more technical terms than that!).

Applications won't work after archive and reinstall

My wife has an iBook G3. After automatic update she got the red circle with a slash in it. She rebooted to the install disk and chose to archive and reinstall. After doing this and restarting, several applications will not work. For sure itunes, safari, iphoto and perhaps other she has not tried. The message she gets is: "The application cannot be launched because the system is incompatible." Suggestions? Thank you. Steve

To A Brody, thanks for the link to the backup info page..that was very helpful.
I'm having a panic with two volumes with 10.3.9 and 10.4.3 getting corrupted and impossible to repair or reinstall...and getting errors that "may be bad blocks...bad media.." and am backing up all the photos and music to a usb ext HD.
I'm only able to start up with os9 and am careful...perhaps not enough, I don't know, to not do anything to the osx files I can see from the other parition with os 9.
So far I've just dragged the files I want to the ext HD. I think I will do it again with a disc image as well, on the same ext HD, and burn dvd's later.So far, testing the backup with another mac in osx, I'm able to see the pictures with Preview, and import the music and play it...but yikes, no backup is like running with scissors. Two different friends are also backup less and they both use their macs for business! I hope to get them fixed up as well.
I'm going to post a new question about the phrase: "Mac OS X can't be installed on an ATA/IDE drive that is configured as a "slave", although it can see and work with such drives.": from one of the best books on OS X. Is this true?

Packaging AIR application with ant fails, Packaging AIR application inside IntelliJ works

Hi,
I can package AIR application (package type ad-hoc distribution) inside IntelliJ (from Build menu)
but when I try with my ant build, it encounters an error running the adt command
Is there a way to have more details on the error? At the moment, it's just a Java returned:2 error.
I've copied my ant config files below.
Any ideas anyone on where the problem could lie or how to debug it?

My apple mail application won't work on my macbook, iPad, or iPhone.

About a week ago, my apple mail (aol and google accounts) stopped pulling. They won't work on any of my apple products. It keeps saying unknown error. It will add my contacts for google and calendar, but nothing for AOL.
I have erased my computer and reinstalled the new operating system thinking maybe something was missing (component wise) but it still won't work. I don't know what to do. Please help.

Maybe the files on your memory card got corrupted? Or maybe you could just restart your phone and try if the applications are now working.

iPhone applications won't open. when i click on a downloaded/installed app, it tries to open and immediately closes.
Have plenty of available memory on iPhone
Have restored iPhone and reloaded backup
All software on my laptop and phone is current

Applications won't work anymore with 10.6.3 update

Hi!
I installed via Software Update 10.6.3. And some strange things are happening. At every 5 min the computer freezes, colored wheel, and it stays about 2 min. Then everything goes right again and in 5 minutes another annoyng colored whell.
Firefox and other third party applications won't launch. The icon in dock bounces but the application doesn't start.
Any suggestions to fix that?

Application won't work on 64-bit OS

My associate and I recently got hired to replace the IT department at a business with an infrastructure that was sort of piecemealed together over the last 40 years. We have a new and more efficient infrastructure in development, but, in the meantime,
we have an issue that needs to be addressed to keep operations running smoothly in the early stages of implementing our system.
Our predecessors initially created our database using MySQL and eventually tried to awkwardly convert everything to SQL Server. They weren't very successful and we currently run both databases in tandem and our employees interface the databases with
a program written in Cobalt. We are entirely rewriting the database in SQL Server and building the interface application in .NET. However, we still need to function on a day-to-day basis until everything is rebuilt and this is where our dilemma
begins.
The existing Cobalt interface only functions effectively on 32 bit operating systems, and one of the first stages of our new system is to upgrade the workstations to Windows 8.1 (eventually 10), which only come in the 64-bit flavor. We currently use
XP mode in MS Virtual to utilize the interface, and theoretically, we can continue to do so with VMWare, but I'd like to get away from virtualizing and run the Cobalt interface on 64 bit machines until we can implement our new .NET application. Does
anyone have any suggestions on how we could accomplish this?

Yes, it is Cobol. Sorry, my mistake. The workstations access the program from a server share, so the compatibility mode isn't an option (the options in the compatibility tab are grayed out). I have attempted the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter,
going through all of the combinations that were available with no luck.
Yes, the applications do work correctly on 32 bit operating systems, but do not have full functionality on 64 bit operating systems. I apologize if my phrasing was a little vague. When the user opens the application by clicking on the icon, both
systems open a window similar to:
(note that this is not the exact interface, it is a close representation). The application is primarily used for data entry and retrieval. The options are listed and the user enters in a numerical entry that corresponds to a menu option. When used
on a 32 bit OS, the application will execute the desired request. When used on a 64 bit OS, an
Invalid Entry message appears. In other words, when the program is used on a 64 bit operating system, it won't recognize entered commands.
I hope that this clarifies the issue, and any assistance would be appreciated.

Updated software now mail application won't work

so as usual, I updated the software on My mac and laptop... it is version 10,6.8 and now my mail applications Version: 4.6 won't open. Says it is the wrong version to work with the software... this is the FIRST time I am unhappy with my Apple products. Now to take the time to figure this out. I know enough to be technologically dumb. Help

Restarted twice, unplugged the external drives, re-attached them and everything is working now.

IPad Air 2 won't work

My iPad Air 2 screen won't come on, occasionally it randomly comes on with the App Store open, but all I can do is access the drop down menu, before the screen goes out. The only thing that works is Siri, and even then it cannot hear me.

You may need to download the newest version to a compatible device first using the same Apple ID or to a computer running iTunes again using the same Apple ID. Then you should be given the option to download the latest compatible version for your First generation iPad when you tap on the install button in the App store on your iPad.

Application won't work as JAR file

Hello all,
I am new to java and just wrote my first java program today. I finally got it compiled and working. I have no problems running the application from the command line when the application is not JARred up. When I JAR is up, the application will launch, but the one function it is supposed to excute doesn't work anymore. I created the JAR file with a main class definition in the manifest file.
The error the console is spitting out when the action executes is this:
Exception occurred during event dispatching:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: lotus/domino/NotesException
Now, this appears to be not finding one of my imported classes, but I have my classpath set to include the package. It works fine when the app is not a JAR, but when it is I get the above error.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Executable jar files do not use the classpath, at least they don't use the CLASSPATH environment variable. (I assume that's what you are referring to when you say "I have my classpath set...".) Instead, they use the classpath defined in their manifest files. You have main-class defined there, you have to define classpath there too. Here's a link to an explanation:
