AIR for TVs
I was just investigating AIR for TVs and cannot find a list of TVs that support this.
Anyone?
Hi auzenne
With AIR2, AIR runtime installers for Linux are provided as deb and rpm packages, which should take care of your requirements. Try out AIR2 beta from:

Developing for 'Air for TV' with Flash builder 4.5?
How can I target Adobe Air 2.5 when using Flash Builder 4.5 so I can develop for Adobe Air for TV?
When I change the app.xml file to point to 2.5, I get the following error:
"Namespace 2.5.0 in the application descriptor file should be equal or higher than the minimum version 2.6.0 required by Flex SDK."I was finally able to get my app on a Samsung TV. Here's some more info on this subject. You actually have to overlay the Air 2.6 SDK - not the 2.5 SDK.
Also make sure when you finally package the TV app to change the application XML to point to 2.5,. During development you can leave it as 2.6.
@see http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/airquestions/AIR+for+TV
What tools do developers use to create AIR 2.5.1 apps for TVs?
Developers can use the following tools:
AIR 2.6 SDK
Flash Professional CS5 Extension for AIR 2.5 (now an integral feature in Flash Professional CS5.5)
Flash Builder 4.5
Note: Developers can use the AIR 2.6 SDK for developing apps for AIR 2.5.1 for TV. In Flash Professional, set the publish settings to Adobe AIR 2.5. In Flash Builder, set the AIR namespace to 2.5 in the app descriptor file:
<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.5">.
If you are using Flash Builder 4.5, you must do the following:
Download the Flex 4.1.0.16076 SDK.
Download the AIR 2.6 SDK.
Copy each file from the AIR 2.6 SDK into the corresponding directory within the Flex 4.1 SDK, replacing the Flex original variants.
To use this SDK within Flash Builder, select your project in the Flash Builder package explorer.
Choose Project > Properties to open the project's Properties dialog box.
Select Flex Compiler in the list and then click the "Configure Flex SDKs" link to open the Preferences dialog box.
Click the Add button, browse to the SDK, and then click OK until you get back to the project's Properties dialog box.
Click the "Use a specific SDK" option and then pick Flex 4.1 from the drop-down menu.
You must also replace the default WindowedApplication element with Application in your project's MXML file. -
Adobe AIR for TV in 2014?
Hello, I've been using Adobe AIR in the latest years to build mobile apps, but I've never used it for TV apps. The info I've seen about AIR for TV is mostly talking about very old versions of AIR (2.5). Is that still supported? What TVs are compatible with Adobe AIR? Is there any testing environment I can install in a PC to test TV apps?
Thank you!So no one is making TV apps, I guess...?

Air for TV compiled from Burrito
Hello, I've been playing around with Air for TV and was wondering if there is any plan (or current method) to allow compiling an AIR for TV application from FlashBuilder?

Can I exchange my macbook air for the new pro?
I recently bought a haswell series 13" macbook air exactly 1 week before the introduction of the new haswell macbook pros. After considering the spec and price difference I realized I'd rather have the pro. I looked on the returns tab on the website. It said I can return my product within 14 days. Is it possible for me to exchange my air for the pro without having to go through returning my macbook air and buying the pro? I realized the price difference wasn't all that differernt and I wouldn't mind the extra power. I currently have the 13" macbook air i5 with 8gb. I plan on getting the 8gb for the 13" retina display macbook pro as well
I strongly doubt it. The best thing for you to do is to return this one before the 14 days expire. If the time passes you will have to keep the Air and try to sell it privately.
Once Apple accepts the Air back and you know you are getting a refund you can start the order process for the Pro.

My hubby just got me a macbook air for Xmas which is awesome. Set it up to be able to ichat on it as well as on my iphone. Only now i wont get texts on my iphone- ONLY on my laptop. How can i configure so that I can get texts on my computer AND my phone. NOT just one or the other? Please help!
Hi,
The Mac version will use your Apple ID as the first and only choice...
... Until you add the same Apple ID to Messages on the iPhone.
Once this is done it is best to Restart the app on the Mac.
This will then get at least one, possibly two pop up saying the iPhone in using the Apple ID and the iPhone Number.
Accepting these Pop ups will enable the iPhone as an ID to be used in the Receive At List.
It will also appear in the drop down at the bottom for "Start New Conversations from"
If you did not set iyt up like this then remove the apple ID from the iPhone in the Settings > Messages.
Place the iPhone in Airplane mode to break with the server.
Take it out of Airplane Mode and re-add the Apple ID in the Messages settings.
Then Restart the app on the Mac as above.
Having done this you can still turn Off the Apple ID on the iPhone (receive as the iPhone number only) or disable the iPhone Number on the Mac (receive Apple ID stuff only)
The Start New Conversations option on the Mac version means you could use the iPhone number so people don't get your email.

How do I put an external display to sleep when I am using my MacBook Air for presentation?
How do I put an external display to sleep when I am using my MacBook Air for presentation? I do not want to go to the projector just to turn it off and turn on again after a while? Is there a keyboard shortcut for that?
I want to be able to sleep the external display and at the same time do things in the MacBook.( This feature is useful for me so that I can prepare some things and so that my audience will not see what I am about to show them.)

How to add Google Ads or similar in "AIR for Android" application?
Hello,
I have developed my android application (AIR for Android) in Flash Professional CS5.5. It's completed and fully tested on multiple android phones. Now I want to add Google Ads in my application to make some money.
What I already know:
I know that Adobe provides AdMob native extension API which allows you to add Google Ads in your app. But unfortunately, it's not free.
What I want:
I want a free resource through which I can add ads in my application.
Please guide me how can I achieve this?
Thanks in advance,

I've been looking at the new 2013 13-inch MacBook Air for quite some time now. I'm a graphic designer, so I'll be looking to use Adobe CS6 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat) and Aperture. Also of course, the general things such as Safari, Mail and iPhoto.
I have the new 27-inch iMac at home, which serves as my main machine. 3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz, 32GB RAM (8GB at the moment - upgrading soon), 1TB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX with 1GB. I love it!
I absoloutely love the MacBook Air - it's a lovely design, so lightweight and the new 12 hour battery life is just epic!
If I were to get the MacBook Air, I would definite upgrade to these specs;
- 1.7GHz dual core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz (although I'm told the i7 will drain battery quicker, and isn't much faster?)
- 8GB RAM
- 128GB Flash Storage (or possibly 256GB - bare in mind, I have a 1TB external hard drive).
So I guess the big question is... Will the new 2013 13-inch MacBook Air, with these specs, be sufficient for my needs?
Thanks in advance!Ah, thats too bad. It's really annoying. Any workaround to make the line less visible? (i.e. external monitor)

Thanks in advance!Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The problem of the MacBook Air is the GPU, and Adobe apps don't support the GPU of your MacBook officially because it's an integrated GPU.
Sincerely, if you want to use that type of applications, the only valid Mac is the 15-inch MacBook Pro. It includes a quad-core processor, 4 GB of RAM (with the possibility to add up to 16 GB), a 500 GB HDD (with possibilities for bigger HDDs and SSDs) and a NVIDIA GPU which will work with your applications without any problem. Also, you can modify the RAM and hard drive without voiding the warranty.
If you want to give the MacBook Air a try, buy it and see if your applications work properly. You have 14 days to return it if it doesn't work as you expected, but to be sure, go for the 15-inch MacBook Pro. The MacBook Air is designed for home tasks -
How can I use a file in flash cs6 that I made in flash cs5.5 air for android
I have made an app in in air for android in flash cs5.5 air for android, and I want to edit it in cs6 and play it in cs6.
But if I put Ctrl+Enter I got an error: createWin process failed with error 2: system couldn't find the file. I think the problem is that I'am using air for android 2.6 version in flash cs5.5 and version 3.2 in flash cs6. I have searched the web and found out that you can add older air versions using the sdk manager and I have tried it but first I get the error that the version of the sdk I am trying to install is not valid and after some files that I added to the sdk folder I get this error:Only SDK higher than version 3.4.2540 may be added.
I there a possible way to update the air for android for an fla or apk? Or how can I let my originally file work fine in flash cs6??system couldn't find the file
If you can´t get a more specific hint why your project can´t compile then I can think of some reasons theis error might occur
1.You had files included besides the swf, like videos, audio files, xml files, that are not present in the place air expects them to be
2.somewhere in your createWin functions there is a class import needed that isn`t present in 3.2 anymore, for example some classes or functions from classes that were valid in 2.6 are not any more in 3.2
3. to achieve better eror logging, allow for debugging in the publishing options and see what specific lines in your code throw the error
4.any air app needs a cert file, this needs to be created once, if you migrated to e new system it might be you never created that file which air expects to even begin the compiling process
once you isolate the problem, report back -
Can I use macbook air for ios app development?
I would like to know if i can use macbook air for ios app development or macbook pro is only option?
Just to reinforce what shldr2thewheel says - be very sure what size memory you want if you get a Macbook Air. There is *no* way to change after purchase. My advice is to go for the 4GB option - especially if you want to do app development.
The internal storage (solid state drive) of the Air can be upgraded if required but it will probably be an expensive option. If you don't think the storage will be enough then maybe using a USB connected drive to hold non-essential files is an option.
As to deciding between the Air and Pro you are basically making a decision between portability (Air) and expandability/bigger screens (Pro). What is more important to you?

How to record a time-limited video with Adobe AIR for iOS
I am trying to record a time-limited video with Adobe AIR for iOS.
For example, I want to implement the following function. Start a one-minute timer before launching CameraUI to record video. When the timeout event happens after one minute, stop recording video, close the CameraUI view and obtain the video data so far.
I have several questions related to that.
1. How to stop recording video from outside the CameraUI view(in this case, from the timeout event handler) and then close the CemeraUI view? As far as I know, to close the CameraUI view, the only way is to press the [Use Video] button or the [Cancel] button from inside the CameraUI view. Is it possible to close it from outside?
2. Even if the first problem mentioned above is solved, then how can I get the video data so far(in this case, the video data before the timeout). I know that normally we can get a MediaPromise object from MediaEvent parameter of the complete handler, and read the video data from the MediaPromise object. But obviously in this case, we can not access the MediaPromise object just because the complete handler itself will not be executed since the [Use Video] button is not pressed.
3. Is it possible to add a stopwatch to show possible remaining recording time when CameraUI view is open? It seems that the CameraUI automatically uses the full screen of iOS device(in my case, iPad) and there is no extra space to show the stopwatch.
Are there any solutions or workarounds about the three problem above? I really appreciate it if anyone has any idea about this. Thanks in advance. You'd have more control by using the Camera object, showing the camera on a video object inside a Sprite, and capturing that. Then you could put whatever graphics alongside it on the stage.. I've used FlashyWrappers in a test to capture the video to the library. It took some work, but the test worked well...

AIR for IOS not launching CS6 or CS5.5
I am trying to select Air for IOS and nothing happens. All other palettes seem to work correctly. I own CS 5.5 and have the same problem. I downloaded CS6 trial to see if this problem still exists and it does. Any ideas? MAC OSX 10.6.8
I do see this crash sometime after closing any flash file after trying to select Air for iOS.
