Air Port signal interferring with Surround Sound Wireless Speakers

I have a Samsung Surround Sound Setup with 2 rear wireless speakers.
I can't use my wireless internet while the surround sound is on.
Is there anything to do with the air port utility to get the signal on a different channel?
Please help!

I believe these Samsung's wireless rear speakers rely on Bluetooth technology which runs in the same radio band as 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. To eliminate any interference, you should consider either operating your AirPort in the 5 GHz band of try changing radio channels if you must operate it in the 2.4 GHz band.

I have a quicktime movie with surround sound I'd like to burn to a DVD. Will iDVD burn this and keep the surround intact?

Sure, it is surround, but it's not the same as having four separate channels. There are limitations to what you can encode, and you can end up with unintended issues on both stereo and surround material. It was a cool invention that was a big improvement on stereo, but it just isn't the same as actually having the channels. It just isn't "four true distinct signals" - it simply can't reproduce everything four true distinct signals can.
I should have said I need actual discrete channels.

I use a Mini as the family media center and would like to have 5.1 or 7.1 sound for films but don't want a huge piece of eletronic equipment (I have one of those, but it isn't hooked up because it doesn't fit on the bookshelf). Years ago I used a PC and still use the Creative Audigy speaker system (Jimmy rigged to the Mini) that I ran from the PC. The Audigy PCI sound card obviously doesn't work on the Mini, so I just have two chanel plus sub. That has been fine since I switched to the Mini in 2007, but am updating to a new Mini in the summer and would like to upgrade my sound as well.
I also wouldn't be opposed to a USB soundcard that can drive the speakers. In fact, my wife would prefer smaller and less visible, ergo USB card hidden in the back.
Suggestions?

Hello John, I figured it was a signal issue. All the speakers fire and the sound is great. I was running the speakers thru a Dell PC with a Creative X-Fi Elite Pro, THX Certified, 7.1 soundcard using a fiber optic from the Mac Pro to the Z906's, it worked great until the Dell died!!! When I bought the soundcard from Creative I also bought the GigaWorks S750, THX Certified, 700 watt, 7.1 speaker system, used the speakers for 11 years and then the woofer/amp said "I QUIT" Creative quit making the speaker system and the sound card. The satellite speakers from the Creative GigaWorks speaker system still sound great (rated at 78 watt each) and are a little better speaker than the one's that came with the Z906 and the wattage from the 906 is sufficient to drive the satellites without any distortion. Thank you for addressing my issue, you confirmed what I suspected all along, just needed to hear it from someone with the same setup.
One last question, I purchased a Diamond Multimedia USB Soundcard, can't use the fiber optic(not supported by Mac) but the green, tan and black RCA's plug in and produces adequetly. When you plug your 906's into the Mac Pro using the fiber optic how do you set your speaker configuration? When I plug into the mac pro with fiber optic the 'Audio Midi Setup' does not seem to see the 5.1 configuration. Any thoughts there?

I have a sony handicam and I imported the clips to iMovie and they lost quality and converted the audio to stereo. I want to import the project to final cut X and import the AVCHD in 1080p and surround sound and export the movie in bluray. Can I relink the clips without editing everything again?

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

New Insignia NS-L55X-10A sound not in sync with surround sound

My new Insingina NS L55X 10A was delivered this morning, replacing a 7 year old 52" Hitachi. Of course they just swapped the TV's, plugged it up and attached the cable coax and made sure it would turn on. I didn't notice until they left, but the sound is out of sync with my surround system. I didn't have this problem with the Hitachi. I spent several hours, replacing all the cables with HDMI, and everything is still the same. Is this a common problem and is there an easy fix? What am I overlooking? Thanks for any replies.

I misread your original post I guess. I thought you were talking about the lipsync being off from the sound when watching tv or a movie.
Yes it is possible for there to be a slight delay when using a receiver and the internal speakers of the tv. Normally its not too noticable but it can happen. Most people don't watch tv with both sets of speakers on, you either listen to the tv speakers or the receiver not both. I have owned several home theatre systems and sometimes there is a delay from one system to other. Normally not very much though.
Out of curiosity can I ask you why you would watch tv with both on? The correct thing to do would be turn your tv all the way down when using an amplified system or better yet disable the internal speakers of the tv if your using a surround sound system.
This may be exagerated to some extent with the new systems utilizing HDMI connections and advanced processing features. One device is processing the signal at a different rate than the other one so you could in fact get some sort of reverb effect by using both. The delay is going to be in miliseconds though. Or it is possible that the surround sound receiver is utilizing some sort of built in delay to some of the speakers. Where as the tv would not employ any delay at all. It could also have something to do with how the devices are connected or switched. One set up could possibly have less delay than the other.

IPhone 5 audio issues when paired with surround sound via Bluetooth.

iPhone 5 has developed audio issues since ios7 updates when its connected to surround sound system via Bluetooth. Audio jumps and skips in erratic and unpredictable manner on music app and worse on third party apps such as YouTube . Have restored phone from factory settings etc. Have also checked surround sound for fault with Bluetooth; iPhone 4 ios7 works fine, android works fine but newest iPod touch with ios7 appears to have developed same issue as iPhone 5 since ios7 updates. Advise people to check for this issue on their Bluetooth devices and any advice would be appreciated on this issue :)

It sounds like you are gettings some very unexpected behaviour from the iPhone to your bluetooth surround sound system. I would try the troubleshooting recommended in this article:

Check that you are in range of the Bluetooth device with which you are trying to pair your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Most Bluetooth devices have a range of approximately 30 feet.
On your iOS device, tap Settings > Bluetooth and find your device in the list. If your device says Not Connected, tap the name of your device to attempt to connect it.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and then on again.
Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is turned on and fully charged or connected to power.

Tap Settings > Bluetooth and locate the Bluetooth accessory you are currently connected to or attempting to connect to. Then tap and Forget this Device. Try to pair your Bluetooth accessory again.

Restart your Bluetooth accessory by turning it off and then on again1.

Connecting audio channels with surround sound speakers

I have an art project coming up and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have made a film with a separate .aif sound recording to go along with it. I want the sound to play from different speakers at different points, I have a surround sound system I was hoping to use and thought it might be possible to cut the sound files and somehow place them in different audio channels to link with different speakers. Would this work or is there another way to get the same effect?

I've not personally done it yet, but the theory is sound. I'd expect it to work just fine.

My iPad May be interfering with my tv wireless connection. When I try to use it, it freezes up.

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

FCS3- working blue-ray with surround sound ?

The only things I noted when I made my first own test, was that even though my FCP7 timeline was set properly to output the 6 channels, when I went to compressor 3.5 to produce both the H264 and the AC3 (with 6 channels), after the Blu ray disk was burnt, the audio was not playing correctly.
I fixed the problem by going from FCP7 to Compressor using the new function called "send to compressor", instead of using a self contained QT movie (which is my usual workflow).
In this specific case I found that it solved my problem and my second attempt to produce the Blu ray disk was ok, the audio played as expected on my Dolby receiver.

When song played with surround sound, vocals removed! :O

hi all, hope you can help.
first of all, why any1 would want to play music thats recorded/editted and mixed using 2 channels in surround sound is beyond me, but some people do, or even may do it accidentally.
i finished editting some songs the other day and sent them over to the guy putting them out, 1 song has the main vocal completely centered, no panning whatsoever, sounds fine through speakers/headphones, but if surround is activated, the vocals completely dissapear.
i think this has something to do with surround not playing what is mixed dead centered, but was wondering 1. why? and 2. if theres anything i can do as a quick fix without having to mess with the song too much, and 3. how would i avoid this in the future, without having to duplicate the track and pan each 25 each way?

thanks, maybe if i new abit more about surround that would help, i actually managed to recreate what was happening by oing into the mixer and clickin sum to mono on the vocals tracks (what does "summed" means in this context?).
ive come to the conclusion that whoever plays the tracks in surround isnt going to hear the main vocal, but i am really baffled by this as, as im sure you guys now how useful the centre channel remover function thingy for removing lead vocals, which suggests to me that a lot of music has the lead vocal completely centered, yet ive never heard any other song in surround that has had the lead vocal completely removed (admittedly if you mute the music track the vocal is there very, VERY slightly, but the difference is astonishing, i wish i could demonstrate it.
does any1 have any examples of a song which is effected in a similar way? or have you guys noticed this with your work (also, i recorded an entire album with aud 1.5 with lots of centered lead vocals and never had this problem).

Air Port Express Joining a non-Apple Wireless N Network

So, I've been using my AEn router for some time now to join my wireless G network for iTunes and to use the ethernet port.
Decided to buy a Linksys Wireless N Dual Band router to replace my older wireless G router.
Much to my surprise and disappointment, AEn can only join an existing B/G wireless network.
Anyone heard if Apple is going to open this up to allow joining a wireless N network with a firmware update?

My Express will only 'join' my Netgear WNDR3700's 2.4ghz 'N' band. Within seconds after joining the 5ghz band it loses link. See if your Netgear's log shows "WLAN access rejected: incorrect security", as mine does. Mind you, I've matched the security settings on the AE with the Netgear a number of times. My MB Pro is at a farther distance than the AE yet has a full signal to the 5ghz band. FYI there are no cordless phones in my house and there are no other known 5ghz networks close to my house.

MAking a DVD that works with surround Sound

I am trying to make a DVD that works on surround a sound system (DTS system) There are 2 front speakers, 2 rear, and a sub woofer. I imported several film clips into iMovie (I believe what I did is called "down mixing") then created a Quicktime file that I imported into DVD Studio Pro. I created the disc, but the audio did not sound good. So I have been fooling around with Compressor to try to turn the audio into the correct format, and I still have not found the right combination to get the audio to sound correct. What can I do to get the disc sounding clear when I play it on the DTS system. I am assuming that there are certain steps I must make in both Compressor AND DVD Studio Pro (version 3) - I would be very appreciatvie to the person who can give me the magic formula to get everything sounding right. You can use A.Pack (look for it into your apps. folder) to generate the Dolby AC3 files.

Laptop Loses Air Port Signal

My MacBook Pro occasionally loses the signal from my airport express (I live in a small apartment so distance is not the issue). When trying to reconnect to my network I get a time out error, but if I turn airport off on my laptop, restart, and turn airport back on, my macbook can see my network without any problem. Any ideas?

I have virtually the identical problem - when I wake my machine from sleep, it often cannot reconnect to the wireless network (a Belkin wireless router at home and ... some variety of unknown wireless routers at school). At home, manually re-entering the network name (we don't broadcast our SSID) and password works; at school I have to reboot to get wireless access back.
I'm running 10.5.7.

Do the old air port extremes work with the software update downloaded today

I have the new airport express. I have a two year old airport extreme. I downloaded the airport software update today and the internet access is not connecting. I can access the internet on other networks, but not my own. In the airport utilities my airport express lists ,connection good'. The airport extreme, even though it has the green connection dot lit, does not have any verbage giving connection status.

Yeah im 12 and im awsome at all the iPod stuff but not this?!?!?!?!?!! Anyway I have had my iPodTouch since christmas and it was fine loving it up every minute and well today i saw this update.Well my curiosity clicked it and now it has a usb and the iTunes symbol and when i click restore it loads then on my iPod it has the apple and the bar under it loads then about midway it shuts of and has the picture pop back up!
