AIR update October 9 and XXHDPI (144x144) Icon Support

I've just downloade AIR 3.9 SDK & Compiler for Windows (ZIP, 204 MB). In the realease not it says
XXHDPI (144x144) Icon Support – Android - With this feature we have added support for beautiful, high resolution icons on devices such as the Nexus 10
Unfortunately in publish settings of my Flasch CC there are still only 3 small icons available, up to 72x72.
Am I missing something? How to get the 144x144 icon?

Hi guys, this works for BOTH Android and iOS, lets put some order:
- The missing icons have to be added to the xml descriptor.
- The descriptor has to be kept read-only so that flash will not mess with it.
- The missing icons ONLY, not the other icons, have to be added to the included files one by one. Not a folder.
- Do not include also the icons that flash can manage, or it will trigger a conflict and refuse to publish.
HINT
Keep 2 separate copies of the manifest, one for Android and one for iOS, and just copy/paste them in the descriptor file when you need them (anyway, switching between iOS and Android in the AIR publish panel, will ERASE some data from the other platform (you have to manually re-enter icons and app id everytime you switch between the 2 publish methods, quite a stupid behavior from a 500 euros piece of software, this leads to errors quite often). But if you just copy/paste the right manifest, then put it read-only again, Flash will not mess with it and you can finally realiably have some standard steps to follow.
Extra icons:
iOS:
    <image120x120>_icons/ios/120-iOS.png</image120x120>
    <image76x76>_icons/ios/76-iOS.png</image76x76>
    <image152x152>_icons/ios/152-iOS.png</image152x152>
Android:
    <image96x96>_icons/android/96x96.png</image96x96>
    <image144x144>_icons/android/144x144.png</image144x144>
These files only have to be amnually added to include list.
If, like me, you export for both platforms, it will be convenient just to keep all 5 of them added.
Hope this helped.

    did the update in iPhone and my mail icon is gone? How do I get it back?

    Look on other screens and any folders (like utilities) on your iPhone.

  • I just updated my iPhone and my ap icon is gone. How do I download aps?

    I just updated my iphone with new is. My aps and ap icon did not reload. How do I restore this?

    If you mean the App Store app is missing, check Settings>General>Restrictions to be sure that Installing Apps is set to On.  If it is, then look on all your screens and inside all your folders.  If you still can't find it go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.  This will restore the home screen to its original configuration but may move other apps around to do so.
    If you mean that your apps are missing, sync with iTunes to transfer them back to your phone.

  • Update framework always creates new desktop icon

    I'm using the AIR update framework (ApplicationUpdaterUI),
    and whenever the user updates the application, a new desktop icon
    gets created (overwriting any existing desktop icon there). Is
    there a way to suppress this behaviour, or can someone suggest a
    workaround?
    Here's the situation:
    Our AIR app uses a separate bootstrapping application to
    launch some services before the AIR application launches, so it's
    important that the user does not run the AIR executable themselves.
    Our installer creates a desktop icon that points to the
    bootstrapping executable. When the user updates the application, it
    replaces our desktop icon with the AIR shortcut.
    Thanks!

  • Our business pc had an Adobe Air update. Now pc won't boot up any windows processes.

    The Adobe Air update popped up and my biz partner accepted it without reading it. Now the pc won't boot up. He cannot even get to the point of removing the update or restoring the pc. Was this some type of malware or an error that Adobe can correct? HOW do I get it off?

    It could be malware: there are LOT of fake updates going around at the moment.
    What does the PC do - where does it get to in the boot, what happens next?

    The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
    To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
    If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
    Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
    After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
    Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
    If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.

  • Updating both app and AIR

    Hi,
    I'm using the air update framework to update my app.  However, I'd also like AIR to update itself at the same time, so my app can use new API additions, such as
    System.disposeXML();
    I thought the only thing I'd have to do is change the namespace, as in<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5.2">
    I've made this change, published the new AIR file using the new sdk, and updated my update.xml file so an update would occur.  But when the app attempts to update, I get the following window reporting an error:
    My app.xml file looks something like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5.2">
      <id>my id</id>
      <version>1.1</version>
      <filename>my filename</filename>
      <description>my desc</description>
      <name>my name</name>
      <copyright>my copyright</copyright>
      <initialWindow>
        <content>main.swf</content>
        <systemChrome>standard</systemChrome>
        <transparent>false</transparent>
        <visible>true</visible>
        <maximizable>false</maximizable>
        <minimizable>true</minimizable>
        <resizable>false</resizable>
      </initialWindow>
      <icon>
        <image128x128>icons/AIRApp_128.png</image128x128>
        <image48x48>icons/AIRApp_48.png</image48x48>
        <image32x32>icons/AIRApp_32.png</image32x32>
        <image16x16>icons/AIRApp_16.png</image16x16>
      </icon>
    </application>
    Shouldn't AIR and the app update correctly?  Does anybody know why I'm getting such an error?

    I've also created .airappinstall.log and received the following output after installation fail:
    Starting update of c:\program files\app folder\appname.exe

    After seeing my id was different, I realized what was wrong.  Flash CS4 had recently crashed, and the location of my cert was reset.  Apparently, I selected the wrong one when publishing.  Again, thanks for your tip on the log files, as I wouldn't have been able to figure this out without them.

    Hi there Fgonzalez2015,
    You may find the camera troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.
    Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    You see a closed lens or black screen
    If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
    Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
    Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
    Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
    If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping the camera swap icon . If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.

  • Error 1620 During AIR Update and AIR App updates

    On of our customers is having repeated problems installing our application update on Windows XP SP3. I checked the install.log and see that the most recent error he is getting is Windows Installer Error 1620, but my research has not turned up very much helpful information about that error. Do you know what might cause this?
    An excerpt from his log file is below.
    Many thanks for your help,

    Hi Chris,
       Thanks so much for the quick response. After he investigated further, he determined that it was Comodo Internet Security Premium. He disabled it, uninstalled, and then reinstalled both AIR and You Need a Budget (our product), and it worked great after that!  Thanks again for the quick response.
    Best regards,
    Taylor

    I recently updated my itunes and for a few days it worked fine. Now when I click on my desktop icon for itunes I'm getting a message box that says "The file "itunes library .itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes. Any help on how to open my itunes?

    Tell us some version numbers please, of your Mac OS versions and iTunes versions on both computers (two eMacs yes?).

    That is a pretty good guess.Try updating the second eMac's iTunes to at least the version that was on the first.

    I have just updated to ISO 8 and my app icons are not displaying the correct icon but just a generic icon. Anyone had a similar problem?

    That happened to me for a short period of time after I updated. It didn't do it with all apps, but it did it with a few here and there. Try a few basic standard troubleshooting steps. Close all apps and reset the iPad.
    In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    You can also try resetting all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
    Hopefully it will be something simple, but don't rule out restoring the iOS software, if nothing else works, but start with this easy stuff first.
