Airtunes : connection is broken

Hello,
I have problem with my Powerbook G4 12' and Airport Express. I use a wireless connection to access the Internet (wifi router provided by my ISP) from the powerbook. This works quite fine. The Airport Express is only used to stream music via Airtunes, not to access the Internet.
I listen the music in iTunes, which is then transmitted to my stereo via Airtunes. But sometimes the airtunes connection is broken. Then I also lose my Internet connection. I mean that the powerbook cannot find the Internet wifi connection. I have to reboot my router...
It seems that this occurs when the Powerbook goes to sleep. The Airport Express connection is definitely lost and its light is flashing orange. Even in the Airport Admin tool, the airport express has disappeared. Very strange... Maybe should i switch off the "go to sleep" fonctionality" of the powerbook.
I recently upgraded to 10.4.7, but this does not solve the problem. the Airport express firmware is 6.3

I have a linksys Linksys WMP300 and am able to connect to the EA3500 (shows connected at 270 Mbps) Excellent Connecttion but I can't access the internet or any of the other computers on my network. The stupid thing is that I can connect to my neighbor's unsecured network which is also a linksys router.
All of the other computers on the network connected just fine - my son has a laptop running windows Vista, we have a family computer using Vista, my wife's laptop is Windows 7 (we just had a guest that connected just fine).

Router is assigning IP address automatically. Although I have been using a static IP address in the past, this is no longer the case.
The WMP300 is on an Windows XP, SP3 PC.
Since running into this issue, I have not only disabled all security (to make sure that firewalls and/or virus software was causing problems) I completely uninstalled my McAfee. I have disabled Windows Firewall also. "Flying Naked" as it were.
I am surprised that Cisco has no solution - others are also having this problem.
It MUST be the router - I am able to connect to my neighbor's router, able to connect to my old Linksys WRT150N. Anyone else have thoughts?
This is frustrating.

H2 database - Connection is broken

Hi,
If someone here is working with H2 db and can give me any advice, i'll very appreciate it.
I'm working with H2 db and suddenly I started to get : Connection is broken [90067-122] stack trace
When I invoke my java application.
I have the database, and I'm connecting it with the H2 console successfuly.

Disable anti virus software and try turning off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall.
Quit then relaunch the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Then click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads

Ssh configuration to avoid connection timeouts / broken pipes ?

I'm running irssi through screen on my server via ssh. Recently, my parents' internet connection has become very dodgy, and because of this, my terminal freezes altogether once every 15 minutes or so, and resumes with some "broken pipe" message after a very long time (around 10 minutes). I usualy just kill the terminal when I notice the freezing and open a new one with another ssh connection, but this seems to be getting more and more frequent, so it's very annoying. I was wondering if there is a way to get around this? Server configuration, client configuration, a different ssh client ... ?
By googling, I found that disabling "TCPKeepAlive" might do the trick, and so I did. It seemed to work at first, my connection was up for about half an hour, but then the same thing occured again
The sadest part of this is that by using puTTY on my phone over 3G, the connection stays up forever, but with the wired broadband, it won't stay up for more than 15 minutes
EDIT: This time I got this message: "Timeout, server <myaddress> not responding", after 29 minutes.

yep, this connection used to be reliable too, but now I get timeouts all the time, and also if I connect the Deluge-GTK to a daemon running on my server, it will randomly freeze and I have to reconnect to get it to work again. Luckily I'm getting out of here tomorrow
Still, it would be nice to solve this problem, because I will be coming here every once in a while... I would call the ISP and complain (I don't think the problem can be with our routers, because ssh connections inside the LAN work just fine), but because it's easter, their customer support is closed Besides, I don't know how to explain the problem to them, because most likely they won't even know what ssh is...
I tried rwd's configs, and they didn't help either. The only difference is that it seems to timeout faster now, instead of freezing the whole terminal for a long time...

i have an all in one 8500a and a mac pro wirelessly connected. It has been fine for 7 months. Now I am getting a message that says broken pipe, what do I do? I have no idea what a pipe is.

Try resetting the Printing System, then reconfigure the device:
*Be aware that resetting the printer system will remove any existing print queue and reset any customized driver settings.
Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences .
Select Print & Fax.
Right-click (or Ctrl + click) your product in the Printers list in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system .
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user Name and Password .
Click OK . The printing system resets.
Now reconfigure the device by following the HP Setup Assistant, located under Applications > Hewlett Packard > Device Utilities.
Now check if the problem been sorted.
If the issue remains with no change, completely remove any installed HP Software by using Scrubber:
**Please be aware that performing the next steps will remove any installed HP Software.
1. Click on Go menu (Click the desktop, then look at the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
2. Select Applications
3. Select the Hewlett-Packard folder
4. Double-click HP Uninstaller application
5. Follow the uninstallation till prompted to select a device to uninstall
6. Press and hold Control + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard simultaneously while you click on Uninstall
7. approve any prompt to uninstall any HP Software.
Repair the Mac OS Disc Permissions:
1. Open the the Applications folder.
2. Go to the Utilities folder.
3. Double-click on Disk Utility.
4. Select the hard drive containing the boot volume.
5. Go to the First Aid tab and select Repair Disk Permissions.
Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and amount of permissions that need to be repaired. The Progress Log will indicate when the proccess has been completed.

Secure connection suddenly broken in SGD 4.6 on CentOS?

hello all,
since yesterday, it is broken, when the first is displayed, and i choos "Login", the sgd displays:

The following exception was thrown
and nothing else
looking at the server, i noticve this strange error:

The certificate file doesn't exist.
but i verified my files with openssl commands, and they are ok!
i also noticed this kind of messages that happens often:

i can reproduce it with an app server under solaris 10.
I tried to restart all the processes without success.
The only so-called workaround is to re-install everything :(

Database connectivity toolkit broken vi's

hello all,
I upgraded from LV 8.5 to 8.6 (windows XP platform) a couple of weeks ago and have had no issues until today when all of sudden my Database toolkit vi's are coming up broken, with: "One or more required inputs to this function are not wired or are wired incorrectly. Show the Context Help window to see what the connections to this function should be." errors however this is not happening on all my vi's using objects from the tool kit.
Actions taken to date with no success:
1. mass compile of all my vi's
2. mass compile of database toolkit
3. re install Database toolkit
4. mass compile the vi.lib directory
5. as per the old knowladge base article Document ID: 2RO7J544, ensured latest microsoft MDAC is installed.
Any help is appreciated as we use this toolkit extensivly.

I need to try to understand something, when you say upgrade to LabVIEW 8.6 did you upgrade the toolkit?
LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit 1.0.2 is for LabVIEW 8.6. If, on the other hand your trying to use LabVIEW 8.6 with DC Toolkit 1.0.1 then I beleive they are not offically compatible. However, these KnowledgeBase links maybe of interest: (after all they are just VIs). However, saying this - if you read the readme for the new toolkit several things have changed for LabVIEW 8.6 - so becareful.
You will have to manually copy all the files over from one version of LabVIEW to another. Use the following instructions to accomplish this:
Install the Database Connectivity Toolset to the lowest version of LabVIEW, say X.
Copy the following files/directories to the appropriate directories in the later version of LabVIEW, say Y.
Copy the database directory from \LabVIEW X\vi.lib\addons\ to \LabVIEW Y\vi.lib\addons\
Copy the database.llb file from \LabVIEW X\project\ to \LabVIEW Y\project\
Copy the database directory from \LabVIEW X\examples\ to \LabVIEW Y\examples\

I would also check that you Installed the tookit for LabVIEW 8.6 - toolkits are now specific for labVIEW 8.6. So maybe try re-installing and the toolkit for LV8.6.

Itunes acting strange--airtunes connectivity

i have just moved into my new apartment and i am trying to set up my airtunes with all the same components that it worked with before the move. all the wires are placed in the right place and function ok. my airport express works fine for using internet. i plugged the proper cords in the airport and opened itunes...no drop down box in the corner for airtunes. the correct box is checked in the itunes advanced menu. i have tried everything from restarting the computer, restarting the airport, updating the airport, etc. my comp has all of the latest updates. one thing i found a little strange is that if i unplug the airpot and then plug it back in while itunes is open, the box appears and i an select my airtunes network, however, it fails in attempting to connect to it. also, it makes the entire functionability of the comp slow down and eventually freeze. i had to reboot once. if i close itunes and open it back up again, the airtunes box in itunes is gone. please help me! i am happy to answer any questions!!! -Joe

I just wanted to express that this exact problem has been happening to me as well.
It is so annoying as each time the whole music contents and the playlists as deleted somehow, I have gotten to the task of redoing the whole thing again.
But I just had the fifth occurrence.
Please when somebody figures this out, let me know.
One other observation is that as soon as I open the itunes program, suddently, in the recycle bin there appears something as if it has been recently deleted. As I open the recycle bin, it contains two items of the iTunes program. However, this is done automatically. Anyway, I try to restore it and then I am prompted that the two items already exist. So are they copies that the program makes and then deletes automatically, and in the process, eliminates all the music and playlists in the program?

AirTunes connects on PowerMac, NOT on WindowsXP!

I am an advanced computer user, very knowledgeable with everything technical, yet I am completely lost as to what is happening.
AirPort utility locates the base station just fine,
the base station is connected to my wireless network,
iTunes finds the base station and offers me to connect to it,
a macintosh computer connected to my wireless network will connect through iTunes no problem,
BUT
on all windows XP machines the connection through iTunes times out. I get no error messages, simply a 'connecting to stereo' message for 30 seconds which then disappears.
Odd things:
1)at first, iTunes on windows XP would not connected through airTunes on any computers. An hour of fiddling through options later, it worked on ALL of them. It worked for perhaps two hours, and then would randomly stop and start. By the end of the day, it worked NOWHERE, and since then has not worked at all. (It's been 4 days since then of complete confusion on my part, since I HAD IT WORKING FOR A COUPLE HOURS!) I tweaked setting after setting, and each time the Macintosh would happily connect, while windows XP did nothing. I'm a computer programmer by profession and this has me baffled.
2)when I have the airport utility installed, my windows zero configuration (the default wireless utility with XP) will randomly disconnect from my router. Not only that, but sometimes it SHOWS ME as disconnected, ("not connected") but IS IN FACT connected, as I can browse the net, chat on AIM, etc. Then 10 minutes later it will disconnect again. I can't go more than 10 minutes connected before it disconnects again, and connecting back is seemingly RANDOM. I have NEVER in my life seen something so bizarre. (Another thing I just noticed: my WEP password actually gets DELETED or CHANGED from saved memory, and the checkbox that says 'the key is provided for me automatically' magically gets checked sometimes. To connect I have to go in and RE-ENTER my wep key. )
Please, I am going crazy. Does anyone know what is going on????? ANY insight will help. When you suggest fixes, keep in mind that it was working at one point on all computers - so things such as 'open your firewall ports' are not relevant.

Put the G5 to sleep one night, wouldn't wake from sleep --still under Apple care, long story short, longer phone calls w/ Apple tech, but they had to come out and the last thing the guy tried and replaced was the power button (funny when he was taking it apart, I held the button and said this sounds loose, but he said, well if it was faulty you'd see this and that -- turned out your truly was right) and that turned out to be it an only it. Replaced, been fine since.

DB tools open connec.vi Invoke node connection string broken

I'm running an old version of LabVIEW (LV7.1) on my PC (I have no choice - I have to maintain this one application in this specific legacy version, due to maintiaining consistency with another plant running the same app). Anyway, we are running it on a Win 7 (64-bit) Office 2010 PC. I'm gettting errors related to database connectivity, so I just created a new VI, just to take a look at the db connectivity by itself. When I create a brand new VI, and just drop the DB Tools Open Connection.vi function into it, I get an error "SubVI 'DB Tools Open Connec (String).vi': subVII is not executable". After digging down, I get a "No properties" error on the Property Node. If I click on the connection string, I get "No Properties". Any ideas?

I am trying to remember but i think in newer versions of Windows (especially 64bit), the ADODB library was modified, which broke all of the database VI's in older versions of LabVIEW. I would recommend going back to an older version of Windows if you must continue using LV7.1

I've updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 7.0.4 and my wifi connection is runied. I've tried restore the network connection and restoring my phone for many times. Other devices in my home can connect to my home wifi and I've no problem with iOS 7.0.3. Anyone can help me out?

My phone has just done this for the second time, the first time it was in warranty and apple replaced it for free. It has now happened again and as the warranty is finished I'm being told it will cost £115 to fix (replace again) I've given up and I'm now getting a new phone.

JCO - Model Data Destination connection is broken from time to time

I have set up both JCO Modeldata Destination and RFC Metadata Destination. For Modeldata Destination, I set up as Message Server.
JCo Pool Configuration
Maximal Pool Size : 5
Maximum Connections: 10
Connection Timeout (msec.): 10
Maximum Waiting Time (msec.): 30
Logon Group: Public
User Authentication: Ticket
SNC: OFF
I set up my RFC Metadata Dest as Application Server, User Authetication: Userid/Password.
(This configuration is suggested by a lot SDN experienced fellows as best practice)
From time to time, I am getting this error when I run my Web Dynpro application in the portal.

Sometimes, I have to increase the JCo Pool Configuration: like
Maximal Pool Size : 5 to 20
Maximum Connections: 10 to 50
Connection Timeout (msec.): 10 to 50
Maximum Waiting Time (msec.): 30 to 60
to solve the problem.
Sometimes, I need to restart the server node to "clear the JCO caches and the running JCO instances.
From the WDJ development, I have combined all the 10-12 adaptive JCO MODELs to one MODEL to reduce the JCO connections.
But I still not able to nail down the actual cause of the problems.
I am currently in the Dev environment with less users. I am just worry that things get worse if we move to Prod which have higher users activities on the WDJ application.
Please advise what I should do to solve this problem.

Hi Kent,
you can do two steps here:
1. If you havent already done so - please close the model connection from your code after execution of each BAPI. Close the connection with code like below:
wdContext.<your model element>().modelObject().modelInstance().disconnectIfAlive();
this will ensure that there is no hanging connection even for a single moment.
2: Go though the documents am listing below. We need to understand these JCo destination's connection pool settings. Increasing the connection pool numbers without understanding will increase the problem rather decreasing it.

First link I provided should be immensely helpful in calculating the connection numbers for your application. But it has to be calculated by you only as other wont understand your application and its usage better than you.

Antecea iPad Desktop Connect app broken with PPC mac mini

Have a PPC mini? Considering Antecea's Desktop Connect? Please read the following:
Desiring iPad client / PPC Mac mini server VNC, we purchased Antecea's "Desktop Connect" application - which was quite expensive for my iPod-trained wallet. Anything over $10 better jump, skip and tell me I'm really, REALLY handsome. So my expectations were high.
After setting up the proper conditions on the Mac's "Sharing" preference, I could VNC in from my mac pro using "Chicken of the VNC", so was sure the mini was configured correctly.
The iPad could also VNC using Desktop Connect to my desktop, and to a couple of PCs we have around that already had VNC servers running on them. Things looked fine up to that point.
However, while it connects to the PPC mini, the display is distorted as if it has the wrong number of bitplanes or something similar -- icons are jumbled messes of color, and sections of backdrop screen are the wrong colors. It isn't usable.
A short hunt on the net provided a web site for Antecea; I checked the FAQ, and finding nothing, opened a support incident. Within a few hours I had my answer via email:
"We are aware of an issue with colors when connecting to PPC Macs. Unfortunately, there is no workaround at this time. We do anticipate a fix with a newer release of Desktop Connect in June."
That's it... no offer of a refund, no workaround, no nothing. So it's wait and see. Right now, it's a complete waste of money. PPC Buyer beware.

I don't want a refund; I just think it would have been appropriate for them to offer one, seeing as how the thing is nonfunctional for its intended purpose at the moment. I posted so that others could have the benefit of my experience, mainly. And on that level, thanks for your post, as that might be useful info for anyone who bought before they got to read this.
