Disable anti virus software and try turning off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall.
Quit then relaunch the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Then click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads

Downloaded Mountain Lion update 10.8.2 last night. All went well until the message after the download – restart your mac to install this update. The screen went white and the machine didn’t restart. After waiting for quite a while, I shutdown using the main power button. Restarted iMac later and it opened in 10.8.1 and the iTunes icon informed me that I had an upgrade to 10.8.2 that required me to restart the machine to install the upgrade. I did this and again, the screen went white and froze when trying to restart. Rebooted thinking I might be OK to run in 10.8.1 and ignoring the update but when I tried this the Mac worked fine but when I came to shut down I got the white screen freeze thing again. Does anyone have any easy-to-follow solutions for this or will I have to shut down using the main power button every day?
Many thanks for any suggestions.Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS. -

I made a " Qualifying purchases between June 11, 2012, and July 25, 2012 " so I have until August 24, 2012 to download Mountain Lion for free according to <http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate/>
Can I download Mountain Lion before that deadline but install it later on?
I'd like to go from Lion to Mountain Lion when ML has nay initial bugs resolved.
Thanks.Yes, the installer downloads to the Applications folder, if after downloading it asks to continue to do the installation just close that dialogue. Later, when you are ready to install click on the installer in the Applications folder and it will do its thing.

I bought a Macbook Pro today, asked for the redeem code to download Mountain Lion update and received it OK. After the update downloaded, it said there was an error and the update disappeared without being installed. I can't download it again because the code has been used, help please, no idea what to do.

RicardoIn the app store, click purchases at the top , and download there.
If it's not visible, click "store" on the top bar and "view my account." You can unhide it there.
If you had a problem downloading, before you do either of the above, you may want to trash the contents of /var/folders/ (found by "go to folder" in finders "go" menu, top bar). -

Problem solved - I was using my Apple I.D. Password by mistake when I should have been using my Mac OSX password. Apple support gave me this solution and I was then able to install the Mountain Lion OSX with no problemo!

I have done several "attempted downloads, and see the full file download, typically taking 30 minutes to complete, and then something goes wrong.
I am happy to suspend AV and FW software, but would like to know if it is a good fix or not first?

The Apple TV cannot receive live streams such as that.
However if the website or app you are watching it from is enabled then you can stream it to your Apple TV via airplay. If you have the iPhone 4S you could also use mirroring. -

Try to change your Apple ID back to your old email address (http://appleid.apple.com) in order to set up and activate the phone. After the set up please sign out of iCloud and turn off "Find My iPhone" (Settings > iCloud) - do that on all your devices -, then change your Apple ID to your new address again and then add your iCloud account on you devices again.

Click your Apple menu icon top left corner of your screen.
From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
If Mountain Lion is installed, it will say: v10.8
If not, launch the App Store. From the App Store menu bar click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
FYI .. for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
