Ajax call soap web service

Hi,
I would like to find sample code for web service call from javascript using ajax.
Can anyone help?
For example:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#test").click(function(){
var soapRequest = "<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv=\"http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/\" xmlns:typ=\"http://schemas.novell.com/2005/01/GroupWise/types\" xmlns:met=\"http://schemas.novell.com/2005/01/GroupWise/methods\">"
+ "<soapenv:Header>"
+ "<typ:gwTrace>true</typ:gwTrace>"
+ "</soapenv:Header>"
+ "<soapenv:Body>"
+ "<met:loginRequest>"
+ "<met:auth type=\"types:PlainText\">"
+ "<typ:username>xren</typ:username>"
+ "<typ:password>xxxx</typ:password>"
+ "</met:auth>"
+ "<met:version>1.04</met:version>"
+ "<met:application>Ebase</met:application>"
+ "<met:userid>true</met:userid>"
+ "<met:system>true</met:system>"
+ "</met:loginRequest>"
+ "</soapenv:Body>"
+ "</soapenv:Envelope>";
alert(soapRequest);
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "http://192.168.245.173:7191/soap",
dataType: "xml",
contentType: "application/xml; charset=utf-8",
data: soapRequest,
success: function(xml){ alert("ok"); alert(xml);},
failuer: showError
Thanks,
Xiaoli

I had some issues with using javascript.
Here is what I did sometime ago:
ftp://ftp.novell.com/outgoing/jsClient.zip
Here is also a version using php:
ftp://ftp.novell.com/outgoing/htmlClient.zip
These are pretty much as is.
I'm not sure I can give you much help.

  • Calling SOAP Web Service in dynpro?

    Hello,
    I have configured the XI to exchange data from an external soap and exposed its web service through wsdl file. Now I want to call the service in my model for dynpro application but when I define the adaptive web service model it gives me error but returns status code 200.
    Can I call the XI service directly using Java Code, I would be thankful if you guide me how establish the dynpro and XI web service communication.
    regards,
    Jawed Ali

    Thats what my problem is Murtuza. I have created the adaptive webservice model as I am using latest version of the EP and NWDS. The plain Web service model is now deprecated, so I have to model the XI webservice using adaptive web service model.
    The deprecated web service model, used to provide some proxy classes generation mechanism which the new adaptive model doesn't provide. I have tested my XI webservice WSDL file using XML Spy and its giving me correct output but the adaptive webservice model gives me the error, which I described in my first post.
    I hope I have cleared my point, if you need any thing else to know let me know.
    I created and deployed the web service proxy client and trying to call it using the java code but it also gives me ClassCastException when executing following code to call XI webservice using webservice client proxies:
         InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
         Object obj = ctx.lookup("/wsclients/proxies/sap.com/PBWSProxy/com.pso.prototype.PBWSXIProxy");
         sResult = obj.getClass().toString();
         MI_CHK_ACC_OUTService service = (MI_CHK_ACC_OUTService) obj;
         MI_CHK_ACC_OUT stub = (MI_CHK_ACC_OUT)service.getLogicalPort();
         stub._setProperty("javax.xml.rpc.security.auth.username", "pisuper");
         stub._setProperty("javax.xml.rpc.security.auth.password", "lotus123");
         sResult=stub.MI_CHK_ACC_OUT("0000104851", "1100");
    line:
    <b>MI_CHK_ACC_OUTService service = (MI_CHK_ACC_OUTService)</b> obj;, throwing exception after debuggin I found MI_CHK_ACC_OUTServiceImpl file the code is looking for but I don't have any definition for this class, as the proxy I created doesn't provide any such class. Any idea from where I can find the class definition for MI_CHK_ACC_OUTServiceImpl?

  • Calling soap web service using stub

    I have created a stub class from an existing BPEL process and want to write a small java client (ultimately to be used in a JSP).
    The problem is that the generated stub creates the calling method with an Element parameter instead of a string that the web service needs. I have been playing around with the org.w3c.dom.Element and oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDocument classes to try to create an instance of Element to pass into the method but I'm having no success.
    Has anyone had the same problem? What's the best way to go about this?
    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.2 and the BPEL is hosted on Apps Server 10.1.2.0.2
    Thanks in advance..

  • Problem calling a web service via SOAP ad.

    Hi,
    I need to call a web service in an synchronous RFC to Web service scenario.The provider of service said me that they are going to accept production order with the service they provide. However, service semms to have only 2 request parameters one is a string enumeration ("online" or "offline") but the other has no type. In WSDL it is shown as the following -
    -<s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="strFilenameOrXML">
    - <s:complexType mixed="true">
    - <s:sequence>
      <s:any />
      </s:sequence>
      </s:complexType>
      </s:element>
    When I try to test the web service with Altova XML Spy it gives me the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" .. at StokbarPlus.ProdService.WriteProdToSB(XmlNode strFilenameOrXML, IntegrationType EntegrasyonTip)..
    I guess the service is waiting for a xmlNode object...
    Is it possible to assign an XI message(coming from RFC) as an xmlNode object to an element of a webservice message and send it by using SOAP adapter?.
    I tried send the SOAP message by putting the whole xml(a sample order document) as a string constant in the strFilenameOrXML element and send but it did not work...
    How should I proceed?
    Thanks in advance for your help,
    -Tarik

    Hi,
    Problem is still unsolved.
    By the way I figured out that they are waiting the xml message inside strFilenameOrXML tag and tried to send it so. However it does not work. I have tried two different ways to send it.
    First one is by using messages in WSDL: did not work because special chars like <,> in the message that I am sending in the tag is escaped  .
    The Second way is using the data types that I developed, it did not work too since the receiver expects one of the inner node's namespace prefix to exist.
    I tried exporting the xsd of the message type, adding attributeFormDefault="qualified" to header, and reimporting it. It did not work, because it changes all nodes, but they want some specific node to be qualified.
    Any suggestions?

  • Calling a soap web service from a java desktop application

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to call a soap web service from a java desktop application? I've seen examples using Apache Axis, but it sounds like Axis needs to run on a web server and we are trying to avoid that. My initial thought was that, "of course we need a web server", but I'm wondering if there is a way to do this without a web server.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    thank you,
    Julie

    If you are the consumer you don't need any web server. The web server is only needed in the provider end.
    In java 6 there is a built in framework to call web services without the need of third parties (such as apache axis)
    take a look at:
    https://jax-ws.dev.java.net/guide/Developing_client_application_with_locally_packaged_WSDL.html
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/technologies/index.jsp
    For the provider end there is also a built in http server to expose web service via HTTP without the need to
    use any external web server.
    take a look at:
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/xml/ws/Endpoint.html

    Thanks in advance.
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
    in the mentioned weblog a web service "Distance" is used, but your monitor entry say, that you call the web service "StockQuotes". So I think you have put a wrong URL in your receiver SOAP adapter.
    The error comes from the web service server. It says that the request message is wrong. The element "Symbol" is missing.

    Does any one have insights about it?

    Hi Swapna,
    from your screenshot it seems that you actually try to call the service in your Data Source Expression field. You should set path to the WSDL file here actually - this could be either URL to SAP or to filesystem, as Anton suggested (this could be faster). Have you created endpoint binding for your service in transaction SOAMANAGER? If yes, then simply download the corresponding WSDL with binding or copy the URL which leads to it. But also test whether you are able to retrieve the WSDL without logging into SAP (close all browser windows and then open a new one otherwise session ID from other browser windows can be reused).
    If you have to give username and password, then setup anonymous alias in transaction SICF, for example.
    Pleas, check my previous post on the same subject here: Re: BCM7 IVR : SOAP request for client identification in CRM .
    Maybe it could help.

    Dawood.

    Hi,
    On way we can call a web service is to pass the Web Service URL to UTL_HTTP package:
    Sample Web Service URL
    ===================
    lv_url :=

    || '&'
    || 'param0=1'
    || '&'

    Sample Call using UTL_HTTP
    =====================
    SELECT UTL_HTTP.request (lv_url)
    INTO lv_result

  • QName error while calling a web service from Sourcing

The web service team has provided us the WSDL and I have generated the required stubs using wsimport and packaged the required java classes in a custom JAR. • Calling a web service through SSL via a stand alone java class

    HI,
    I am trying to call a web service through SSL via a simple stand alone java client.
    I have imported the SSL certificate in my keystore by using the keytool -import command.
    Basically I want to add a user to a group on the server. Say I add a user user 1 to group group 1 using an admin userid and password. All these values are set in an xml file which I send to the server while calling the server. I pass the web service URL, the soap action name and the xml to post as the command line arguments to the java client.
    My xml file(Add.xml) that is posted looks like :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope
    xmlns:xsi = "http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:SOAP-ENC = "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
    xmlns:SOAP-ENV = "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd = "http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema"
    SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle = "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
    <SOAP-ENV:Body>
    <namesp1:modifyGroupOperation xmlns:namesp1 = "/services/modifyGroup/modifyGroupOp">
    <auth>
    <user>adminUser</user>
    <password>adminPassword</password>
    </auth>
    <operationType>ADD</operationType>
    <groupName>group1</groupName>
    <users>
    <userName>user1</userName>
    </users>
    </namesp1:modifyGroupOperation>
    </SOAP-ENV:Body>
    </SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
    I call the client as:
    java PostXML https://com.webservice.com/services/modifyGroup "/services/modifyGroup/modifyGroupOp" Add.xml
    I my client, I have set the following:
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", "C:\\Program Files\\Java\\jre1.5.0_12\\lib\\security\\cacerts");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", "password");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", "C:\\Program Files\\Java\\jre1.5.0_12\\lib\\security\\cacerts");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", "password");
    But when I try to execute the java client, I get the following error:

    Hi jazz123,
    There's an example in the [*Java Web Services Tutorial*|http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/2.0/tutorial/doc/] : see Chapter 1: Building Web Services with JAX-WS - A Simple JAX-WS Client.

  • How to call a web service that is managed by web services manager from omni

    Ok gurus... here is an interesting one for you.
    We have a set of web services that are deployed to our server. We have Oracle Web Services Manager deployed to another server and is acting as a gateway to our web services.
    We would like to call our web service and pass it the username and password that were specified in the omniportlet connection information screen. How do we go about doing this?
    PS. We are using the latest version of portal (10.1.4).
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers,
    Cory

    Just a follow up. What I would like to do is to have omni portlet add standard header information for security such as the following:
    <soap:Header>
    <wsse:Security xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd">
    <wsse:UsernameToken xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd">
    <wsse:Username>theusername</wsse:Username>
    <wsse:Password>thepassword</wsse:Password>
    </wsse:UsernameToken>
    </wsse:Security>
    </soap:Header>
    Any ideas on how to get omniportlet do this? Any ideas on where to look for the answer? Oracle dudes: Any plans to add this to future releases?
    Thanks again folks :-)

    So, writing web service clients in java is pretty easy these days using the JAX-RPC library. Problem is in an applet you want it to load fast. I need my applet to call a web service, but don't want to include all the 'baggage' that comes along with JAX-RPC. It looks like you need XML libraries for JAX-RPC stuff to run, and those are huge jar files (many megabytes). I want a lightweight way to call web services. They are my own web services, so I don't need a general solution. There's got to be a way to just form a soap message and use http to send it. It seems like that has been done already.
    On a related note. I will be passing byte arrays as parameters, so if I do try and form my own SOAP XML message, how are byte typically encoded into these messages?
    Thanks a bunch for any suggestions.
    Mike

    The scripting prompt is due to locally installed WebHelp. If you put it on a server, it should work fine. (Or try to enable Mark of the Web for your output.)
    The problem with CSH not working is probably because the CSH is not enabled in the output. In the single source layout settings, make sure that all your map files are selected:
    The easiest way I see it to create a simple API yourself. (We did it for Delphi and C# and it took about ten minutes.) You can just create a URL and feed it to the default browser. If you want to be able to load new help calls in the same tab, you will have to hook into the browser somehow.
    The URL's are really easy to create. See http://www.wvanweelden.eu/article-category/context-sensitivity for a complete overview of all your options in HTML and WebHelp. If you want to call a CHM context sensitive look at the following article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2bk8zwb3(v=vs.90).aspx
