  • Deploy SharePoint 2010 Sandbox solution to SharePoint 2013

    Hi All,
                I have sand-box solution which is developed in  Visual Studio 2010 for  SharePoint 2010 ,And it is specially developed for branding the SharePoint 2010  site. Now I  need
    to add the sandbox solution to SharePoint 2013 Site.
                Can any one help how can I do this.
    Thanks, Quality Communication Provides Quality Work. http://siddiq-sharepoint2010.blogspot.in/ Siddiqali Mohammad .

    Hi siddiqali,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to deploy SharePoint 2010 Sandbox solution to SharePoint 2013.
    Most of the wsp Solutions deployed in SharePoint 2010 should work fine in SharePoint 2013. This is because of the Support for both 14 Hive and 15 Hive directories that are Created in SharePoint 2013 by default.
    Initially, when you deploy a SharePoint 2010 Solution it gets deployed to 14 Hive and not 15 Hive. To force the solution to install in 15 Hive you need to modify manifest.xml file of your solution and add addSharePointVersion=”15.0” attribute to it. The
    Solutions can be forced to install in 15 hive. However, some of the files especially that refers to _layouts might not work. All SharePoint 2010 Solution files that refers to _layouts folder (i.e. Features, Layouts-files, Images, ControlTemplates)needs to
    be updated, the best approach is to re-create the Solution in Visual Studio 2012.

  • Sharepoint 2013 Workflow not available on Site created from Sharepoint 2013 Foundation Solution Template

    If I create a template on SharePoint 2013 Foundation, then create a site on SharePoint Enterprise (or Office/365) fully configured to support SharePoint 2013 workflows. When I access the site through SharePoint Designer 2013, and attempt to create a workflow
    SharePoint 2013 Workflows are not available -- you get message that SharePoint 2013 Workflow platform is not available because it is not configured on the server. This appears to be a bug in SharePoint Designer as the 2013 Workflows are available on the team
    site on the same site collection. There is no reason that a site created from a SharePoint 2013 foundation template should have this restriction.   To make matters worse if you then save that site as a template on the SharePoint 2013 Enterprise (or
    Office/365) system and create a new site from the that template you get the same issue.
    Anyone know a workaround/fix to this issue.   Have imported the template into Visual Studio but I can not find any way in Visual Studio to enable SharePoint 2013 workflows.   A solution that involves Visual Studio import would work fine
    for me.
    Earllibby

    Apparently you did not read my question very carefully.   The workflow manager is configured properly on this server and for the basic Team site in this site collection the full SharePoint 2013 workflows are available in SharePoint Designer 2013.
    BUT they are not available on another site in the SAME SITE COLLECTION that was created from a solution template that was created on a SharePoint Foundation server.

  • Resource Files in SandBoxed Solutions SharePoint 2013

    Hi,

    on sand boxed solutions.
    Can anyone suggest me the work around to use resource files in sand boxed solutions.

  • Hashing password in UAG for FBA solution in Sharepoint 2013

    We have configured FBA SharePoint 2013 Pack from Codeplex on our SharePoint 2013 environment. Creating new users will hash the user passwords in the database. When we try to authenticate the FBA users via UAG (not joined to domain) the password
    will compare in clear text to the hashed password in the database. Is there any way to configure the UAG to hash the passwords the same way so we can compare it with the hashed value in our database?

  • What cannot be and can be deployed in sharepoint sandbox solution

    what cannot be and can be deployed in sharepoint sandbox solution

    Hi,
    Sandboxed Solution Limitations
    When a sandboxed solution is deployed, the array of SharePoint functionality available to it is limited to help reduce any security vulnerabilities it may have. Some of these limitations include the following:
    Sandboxed solutions have a restricted subset of deployable solution elements available to them. Potentially vulnerable SharePoint project templates, such as site definitions and workflows, are not available.
    SharePoint runs sandboxed solution code in a process (SPUCWorkerProcess.exe) separate from the main IIS application pool (w3wp.exe) process.
    Mapped folders cannot be added to the project.
    Types in the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 assembly Microsoft.Office.Server cannot be used in sandboxed solutions. Also, only types in the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 assembly Microsoft.SharePoint can be used in sandboxed solutions.
    It is important to note that specifying a SharePoint solution as a sandboxed solution has no affect on SharePoint server; it only determines how the SharePoint project is deployed to SharePoint from Visual Studio and what assemblies it binds to. It does not
    affect the generated .wsp file, and the .wsp file has no data that directly correlates to the Sandboxed Solution property.
    Capabilities and Elements in Sandboxed Solutions
    Sandboxed solutions support the following capabilities and elements:
    Content Types/Fields
    Custom actions
    Declarative workflows
    Event receivers
    Feature callouts
    List Definitions
    List Instances
    Module/files
    Navigation
    Onet.xml
    SPItemEventReceiver
    SPListEventReceiver
    SPWebEventReceiver
    Support for all Web Parts that derive from System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart
    Web Parts
    WebTemplate feature elements (instead of Webtemp.xml)
    Visual Web Parts
    Sandboxed solutions do not support the following capabilities and elements:
    Application Pages
    Custom Action Group
    Farm-scoped features
    HideCustomAction element
    Web Application-scoped features
    Workflows with code

  • Data refresh of Excel file on Sharepoint 2013 Online (E3)

    Is it possible to refresh data in an Excel PowerPivot model from external data (SQL Server 2012) on the
    SharePoint 2013 Online solution that comes with the Office365 E3 plan?
    I need to either have the Excel file itself on the public facing website with data refresh there, or possibly have the Excel file in a private Business Intelligence Center subsite and then publish webparts or whatever on the public site, as long as the charts
    are refreshed and publicly viewable. I've found a lot of conflicting info on this.
    Re
    D

    Currently, when a workbook that contains a Data Model is published to a library in Office 365, data refresh is unavailable.
    However, you can use a PowerShell script to configure a workaround.

  • [Forum FAQ] How to remove div characters from multiline textbox field in SharePoint 2013

    Scenario:
    Need to avoid the div tags and get data alone from multiline textbox field using JavaScript Client Object Model in SharePoint 2013.
    Solution:
    We can use a regular expression to achieve it.
    The steps in detail as follows:
    1. Insert a Script Editor Web Part into the page.
    2. This is the complete code, add it into the Script Editor Web Part and save.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(retrieveListItems, "sp.js");
    function retrieveListItems() {
    // Create an instance of the current context to return context information
    var clientContext = new SP.ClientContext.get_current();
    //Returns the list with the specified title from the collection
    var oList = clientContext.get_web().get_lists().getByTitle('CustomListName');
    //use CAML to query the top 10 items
    var camlQuery = new SP.CamlQuery();
    //Sets value that specifies the XML schema that defines the list view
    camlQuery.set_viewXml('<View><RowLimit>10</RowLimit></View>');
    //Returns a collection of items from the list based on the specified query
    this.collListItem = oList.getItems(camlQuery);
    clientContext.load(this.collListItem, 'Include(Title,MultipleText)');
    clientContext.executeQueryAsync(Function.createDelegate(this, this.onQuerySucceeded), Function.createDelegate(this, this.onQueryFailed));
    function onQuerySucceeded() {
    //Returns an enumerator to iterate through the collection
    var listItemEnumerator = this.collListItem.getEnumerator();
    //Remove div tag use a regular expression
    var reg1 = new RegExp("<div class=\"ExternalClass[0-9A-F]+\">[^<]*", "");
    var reg2 = new RegExp("</div>$", "");
    //Advances the enumerator to the next element of the collection
    while (listItemEnumerator.moveNext()) {
    //Gets the current element in the collection
    var oListItem = listItemEnumerator.get_current();
    alert(oListItem.get_item('MultipleText').replace(reg1, "").replace(reg2, ""));
    function onQueryFailed(sender, args) {

  • How to configure service endpoints of custom webservice in SharePoint 2013?

    Hi,
    I have created a custom webservice in SharePoint 2013. I placed it in a sub folder under the ISAPI folder. I followed the instructions of this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff521581(v=office.14).aspx. The webservice works
    great, however when I try to send a large file I get the message "413 Request entity is too large".
    After some searching I found out that you can create a web.config in the subfolder and define the endpoints and bindings, after which I get an error that there is already an endpoint defined for the specified URI. I believe this has something to do with
    the BasicHttpBindingServiceMetadataExchangeEndpointAttribute but I'm not sure.
    Can anyone help me solve this issue?
    Regards,
    Sander

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to configure service endpoints of custom webservice in SharePoint 2013.
    Per my knowleadge, after you add a reference to Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ServerRuntime, you can use the BasicHttpBindingServiceMetadataExchangeEndpointAttribute.
    In VS  go to the add reference and paste the following: C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ServerRuntime.
    In addition, please make sure you create the custom web service correctly.

  • Development environment for SharePoint 2013

    Hi,
    We have requirement for one of the project. Team size would be approximately 30 resources. Development would be entirely for SharePoint 2013 Intranet solution. this will be OOTB Intranet application. We will be developing InfoPath forms and Nintex Workflows.
    For such requirement we would like to setup local development environment by using either Virtual Machines.
    Can anyone help me to identify that how many VM's would be required for the same? How many simultaneous users can use and work at a time? What other things I need to consider for infrastructure? How can i suggest the best possible solution for this.

  • Sharepoint 2013 assign users to a group

    In a test sharepoint 2013 sandbox area that is setup for myself and runs in the cloud,  I am working with 3 test accounts.
    I would like to know how to assign these 3 test accounts to the same group.
    I would think I need this in a site mailbox.
    I am asking this question since this is my first project using sharepoint and no one else in my company is using sharepoint yet.
    Thus can you do the following:
    1. I would like to know how to assign these 3 test accounts to the same group hopefully in a site mailbox.
    2. How would I access this group when I am assigning the task using 'start a process'?

    you can achieve this using server side object model which fetches the data from server as below link:
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/104465/create-sharepoint-group-and-assign-permission-sharepoint-online
    http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/sagarp/programmatically-how-to-add-assign-user-to-a-user-group-in/
    you can achieve the same using client side object model which hits server only once using execute query method as below:
    http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Blogs/8244/add-user-to-the-group-in-sharepoint-2010-using-client-object.aspx
    try this link for second question hope it wiil be useful:

    Please mark as answer if you find it useful else vote for it if it is close to answer..happy sharepointing
