Alarm volume on Iphone 3gs is too loud.

All of a sudden, the volume of my alarm has gone up. Its like it is on full volume when its not. Ive tried volume limit and volume lock and that has not helped.
My alarm is vital... I really need it!

i have an iphone 5 and noticed a couple of software updates ago that the alarm clock can be turned off just by touching the screen anywhere, but the snooze you have to wake up to fine and tap.  This seems backwards to me.  Is there a fix for this?  i have been late to work due to accidentally turning off the phone.
The alarm clock on my phone certainly doesn't work that way. The only way to turn it off is to slide across the screen. Simply touching it doesn't turn off the alarm. It isn't adjustable. However, there are hundreds of alarm clock apps available in the App Store if the built in one doesn't meet your needs.

I personally haven't experienced much of the "reverberation/feedback" when using a headset on the i4S...
Yes, I have near-perfect hearing too (for scope, squeaky brakes hurt my ears) I come from many conversations on many phones and types and first off, CDMA technology is great for coverage, terrible for voice quality. HD Voice in Europe made for some of the best phone conversations I've ever had.
Back on track, feedback is most noticable (similar to the landline phone) when using the iPhone without a headset, but for me it's not an absolute criticality mainly because I use VoIP apps alot, so maybe it has desensitized me some over the past year.
But whenever I'm on a call, and the other person has me on speakerphone, I have alot of trouble talking because of the feedback loop caused. So the less of my voice I hear the better I can talk.
Have you tried a bluetooth headset yet?

  • Is there a way to pre-set the alarm volume on iPhone?

Is there a way to pre-set the alarm volume on iPhone? Every evening I have to remember to adjust the volume to 3 bars, versus full volume during the day.

I cannot believe this problem hasn't been rectified yet!
If I use the pre installed ringtone as an alarm and set it low so I don't jump out of my skin, then my call volume is too low the next day, so have to change it.
If I use a song as an alarm, I have the same problem, but its when I watch a video. I set it quiet, then jump out of my skin the next morning if I've left it tuned up after watching YouTube. Also works the other way if I've watched a video with the sound down, and forget to turn it back up, then I don't hear my alarm, which makes me late!
It could also do with an ascending volume option, so it starts nice and quiet to wake you gradually. My old phones from pre iPhone days had these features and they worked great.
Surely this isn't that much of an issue to sort out. Yet I've seen posts back as far as 2006 complaining about it.
Come on apple pull your finger out!

  • Iphone 5c audio too loud

I recently bought a headset BHS-930 by phaiser and the audio is way too loud whenever I try to play anything and there's no way to adjust it even at 1 on the iPhone 5c it's I can hear whatever I'm playing without even having the earpiece in my ear. This only happens when using it with my iPhone if I pair it with my laptop the volume level is fine but when I pair it with my phone the volume is so loud anyone sitting near me can listen to whatever is coming out of the earpiece. Is there anyway to fix this?

I would've done that if it was too loud for more then just the iPhone. I can pair it up with my laptop and the levels are fine, it's just on my iPhone that it too loud.

  • Iphone 3gs problem silent/loud

I have a Iphone 3gs and if i press by the speaker on the front and let go it switches it goes on loud setting and back to vibrate?

Mine has done this to! It started to do this about a year ago and I have had it for 3 years. It is annoying but you just have to leaen to live without sound. I don't see the point in paying to fix it if there is a new one comign out soon. If you are not going to be buying a new one then I think you should get it fixed, but it will probably break again another year after :/

  • Volume control IPhone 3GS

Is there a way to increase the volume on my Iphone 3GS?  It is hard to hear voicemail on speaker and even hard to hear any conversations when on speaker phone.

There are separate volume controls for certain functions on the phone, and they are only accessible when you are in that function. When you have the speaker active, as in voicemail or as a speaker phone, try the volume buttons and you should see a graphic on the screen, like when you increase the ringtone volume to show how much volume there is at the time. The only time you will be able to adjust that volume is when you are in that function.

  • Alarm volume of iPhone 5 reduced when selecting own song

It had been working fine until recently - where I realised I was sleeping in - and now I understand why.
One of the great features of the iPhone 5 was that you could choose a song from your iPod function to wake you up. Fantastic. And it's been great.
The last few days however, not so much. And i've just noticed that even with the ringer volume all the way up - the alarm tone is signficantly lower when you choose your own tune. This isn't tune specific - i've tried a whole range of tunes - and they're all signficantly muted. Choose one of the preset alarm tones though, and it's LOUD, the way it should be.
That said, I really want to be able to choose my own tune - AND wake up.
Please advise. Any help much appreciated.

Having the same problem. But it doesn't always happen. Sometimes they sound sometimes they don't. When they don't work it is always when the phone is hooked up to the charger. I have it on silent, but I do not have the do not disturb feature engaged. I've been late three times since getting the new phone. Including this morning.

  • All fotos with my iphone 3gs are too dark  what can I do?

all fotos with my iphone are too dark. I can optimize them with picasa form google, but that is boring. Can I somehow adjust  the iphone?

Check the Audio settings in Captivate.  You may need to increase the gain value.
    Is this a USB microphone?

  • Volume in boot camp is too loud

    i have the imac 12,2 (mid 2011, 27")with 10.7.3, and windows 7 64 on boot camp.
I must keep my volume at around 4-6% in order not to go deaf.
    should i download any drivers?
i installed the boot camp drivers that came with bootcamp.
i saw on device manager that the sound card is a cirrus logic something, but their site is old and disorganised.
    what should i do?
    thank you.

I had the same problem. The current bootcamp drivers simply do not control the sound well in windows 7. The only workaround I've found is 3RVX. It's a program that can replace the normal bootcamp sound control. After downloading, go into bootcamp control panel and set the functions keys to act as standard function keys. Run 3RVX, and in settings, set the custom volume change amount to something like 2 or 3%. Then in the hotkey setup tab, set the mute, volume up, and volume down keys to work with their normal function keys. Now when you press F10-12, instead of the standard macbook volume control, you will get the finer control of 3RVX. Of course, if you don't want to give up the other special functions, you can always set the hotkeys to be something else.

  • Need Headset recommendation... my Motorola Headset is too LOUD at min vol.

Help Please! I just purchased a new iPhone (am loving it!).
Only problem is my current Motorola 500 Headset when paired with my iPhone is way too loud for my hearing even at the lowest volume settings. Have both iPhone and wireless headset volumes set to minimum.
I want to buy a new headset, but both AT&T and Apple staff tell me I'll need to do a trial and error of headsets to find a "quiet" one. '*Am hoping someone here, 'in discussions', might have a suggestion for a suitable bluetooth wireless headset.*
    Many Thanks and appreciation...
    Geoff

Absolutely positively the BEST headset Ive ever found so far is the one in the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=MTU 4MTc&fnode=home/shopipod/ipodaccessories/headphones&nplm=TP637LL/A
The V-MODA VIBE Duo Earphones/Headset for iPhone
The bass on these things is incredible. Never heard such good bass in a headset.

  • Alarm volume too low - iPhone 4S / iOS 6.1

    Hi,
I use the standard iOS alarm, and put my phone into DND mode overnight (manually).  The alarm still goes off in the morning, but the volume is inconsistent, even though I set the Ringer and Alerts volume to the max.  I have vibration turned on as well, and it actually saved my bacon this morning, as the alarm volume was VERY low.
I usually listen to podcasts before I go to sleep, but always do the following before going to sleep:
    Unplug headphones
    Return to the home screen
Go to settings to manually turn on DND mode
    Return to the home screen
Max the ringer volume with the volume + button
Plug in the charger and hear the charging chime (quite loud)
Lock the screen and hear the lock sound (again, quite loud)
Yesterday the alarm volume was about half.  This morning it was at the lowest volume.  Seems inconsistent.
    Anyone else havuing this problem?
    Thanks,
    Todd

Update to previous post:   The speaker volume was low before updating to 6.1.3.  I don't remember it ever working well.

  • I want to talk on skype and watch YouTube same time. But YouTube is too loud. How can I can change the two volumes? Tia!

I want to talk in skype on my iphone 5, and watch YouTube together. But I can't hear on skype because YouTube is too loud. How can I control the two different volumes?

This is a user to user support forum.  We are all iphone users just like you.
You are not addressing Apple here at all.
This is an odd way to ask your fellow iphone users for help. Berating oterh users will not help you.
    "it's too fragile"
No it is not.  i have never damaged one, nor has anyone I know.
" U loose data when Ur phone is locked"
No you don't.  Why do you think this?
"and there is no customer support!!!  "
Wrong yet again.  Apple has an 800 number and they have many retail stores and they have support articles that you can access using the search bar. Or you can contact them throgh express lane online
"but I will go back with Blackberry "
    Please do.
    Good ridance
