Alarms stopped coming up

Just recently (in the last couple of weeks), my alarms have stopped coming up. They are a message with sound, and have not come up when iCal is not open. I realised this today and started iCal, when I did this they all came up together, even though I have my settings in the preferences for alarms to come up even when iCal is not open. An ideas?

Yes. This is done automatically (though you could manage it manually). All you have to do is set your iCal preferences appropriately.
When you check "Turn off alarms when iCal is not open" in your Advanced iCal preferences, "iCalAlarmScheduler" is removed from the Login Items list in Account System Preferences.
When you uncheck "Turn off alarms when iCal is not open" in your Advanced iCal preferences, "iCalAlarmScheduler" is added to the Login Items list in Account System Preferences.

    Hi,
May I ask your intention by doing this? Is the particular message harmful to your computer?
Which type of email account are you using? If you want to prevent a particular message from being downloaded to Outlook, we can login to the web interface of your email account and then remove the particular email from your Inbox.
If I've misunderstood something, please feel free to let me know.

  • Emails stop coming in from accounts

Once in a while emails from my exchange account (using active sync) and my gmail account stop coming in on my phone.
To restore the issue I have to reboot or go into account settings, re-enter my password and force a resync. Once that is done all my emails start flooding back in.
Another colleague is having the same issue and I noticed others are having this issue over on the Crackberry forums.
Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

The issue has nothing to do with MS365 as it works flawlessly on other phones such as 9900!!!
Here are the very common issues for Q10:
    - Phone heats up for no apparent reason, once or twice a day! When I say heats up, I don't just mean it getting warm..... gives you the impression that it is going to explode!
    - Emails, notifications, and pretty much everything else related to the hub stops coming in! Even calendars won't sync anymore, until the device is turned off and on again!
    - Contacts are not completely synced with the contact section of the phone application!!!!!!!!! Completely random! I read in another forum that a BlackBerry rep had suggested that those contacts do not have phone numbers associated with them and that is why they don't show up in phone app! COMPLETELY BS!!!
It baffles me, BlackBerry with so many loyal customers, the one phone which is supposed to be the flagship and their "comeback" magic trick, they don't pay enough attention to!!!

  • E-mail stopped coming to iPhone - why?

E-mail has always come to computer and phone both. No changes in settings, no differences in accounts, it just stopped coming to my phone. I have turned it on and off, no luck. I can send mail, but it isn't coming. What would cause this? It's an original, has not been "upgraded" with 2.

if your email ends with @me.com, @mac.com, or @icloud.com changing your apple id email could effect this,

  • Emails have stopped coming...

Was prompted to change my password on my computer at work - changed that but now the emails have stopped coming in on the blackberry.  After speaking to AT&T, our network administrator told me to contact Blackberry directly as he cannot figure out how to solve the problem.

Thank you.  Am I correct to assume when you say "your carriers Blackberry portal" you mean the AT&T Blackberry.net site?  I did do that and it still did not carry through.  I spent about an hour on the phone with AT&T and they couldn't figure it out.  I will try again though unless I am misinterpreting your response.  Thanks again.

  • Updated my iMac to mountain lion, had iCloud problems so I turned off iCloud. Then my software updates stopped coming through.  Turned iCloud back on but still not getting updates even when checking manually.  Help   Greg0954

I updated my imac to osx mountain lion.  Had trouble with icloud affecting my itunes so I turned off iclouds.
Then my automatic software updates stopped coming through.  Even when I check for them manually by
clicking on software update it acts like it's checking for about one second then says "no updates available".
It's been months since I've got any updates,  used to get them every week or two.
Could turning off icloud have affected the necessary contacts ?  Please help,
                                                         Greg0954

I think all these problems are related, but might try this fo SWUPD...
If you check for software updates using the App Store in OS X 10.8 and get "NSURLErrorDomain error -1100" the problem may be with your Software Update preferences. This is particularly likely if you were using a custom Apple Software Update server. To solve the problem, quit the App Store, move the following two files (if present) to the trash, restart, and only then rerun App Store updates:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist.lockfile

  • ICal Alarm emails coming from home AND work email?

My iCal calendars are synced using MobileMe with my home computer and my work computer (and my iPhone). I'll sent an alarm on my work calendar to email me at work. I am now getting two emails sent TO my work email From my work email AND my home email. Is there any way to stop my home sending out work alarms?

    Hi BenChase,
Select the calendar you don't want to send alarms in iCal's calendar list. Press Cmd-I to open its Info panel. Check the box that says 'Ignore alarms'.
    Best wishes

  • Alarms stop logging

I am running Lookout 5.0 on Windows XP PRO. My system has stopped logging alarms and don't know why. I have searched this forum and found a few others that have had similar troubles but have not been resolved. Is this a problem with Citadel? or an inherent problem with Lookout?
I need to get this fixed and need some help. Thanks.

Your relay wants 12V for the coil, which one of your counters can't deal with directly.  And the coil looks like it will want around 37mA to turn on (12V/320 Ohms = 37.5mA).  What I have typically done in these situations is use a 2N2222 transistor to cause the current from a 12V source to go through the coil and through the transitor to ground.  When you apply 5V to the base, the current can flow.  When you apply 0V, the transistor will be "off" and the current won't be able to flow.  When current can flow through the coil, the relay will turn on.  When current does not flow through the coil, the relay is off.  And you will also want a protection diode in there to allow current to go from the negative side of the coil to your 12V (the coil will hold a charge).

  • Lookout 6.0 - alarms stopped logging

our alarms in Lookout 6.0 have stopped logging to the database for approximately a month. I have tried to view in Max but only alarms older than approx a month can be seen. Data traces are current.

Alarms, Events, and logging to historical database for hyper trends make the database folder too big too fast.
Try a cleaning of the events and alarms (or avoid as much as possible unnecessary events and alarm records). Try also to create the database folder out of Lookout folder (i.e C:\Data).
Detaching, deleting, and creating databases can create fragmentation of the Hard Drive with the time as well. As a tumb rule, keep checking if the hard drive is asking for a defragmentation and how big is the database once in a while. I had that before......
    Good luck this time......

  • Ipod alarm stopped working

I had been using the alarm feature (plugged into speakers with a selected playlist) since I got my ipod in december, and last week it just stopped working. I double checked the time settings, alarm settings, volume on the ipod and the speakers, the speakers work fine, I'm lost on troubleshooting. I've checked it repeatedly and it still hasn't worked about 4 or 5 times. any tricks or suggestions out there?

Try resetting it (hold switch on and off then hold down the menu and select button for about 5 seconds). If this doesn't work you may have to connect it and restore it.
