Album Artwork on Remote application (a way to force it to show)

Remote is great. I use it to control my Apple TV as an audio component with the TV turned off.
But it's irritating that it doesn't show the album artwork for the "Now playing" track.
It's clearly a bug and hopefully will be fixed soon. In the meantime, I found a guaranteed way to force it to appear (but it's too intrusive to be genuinely useful). Here's what to do:
When a track is playing (with no album artwork showing on the iPod Touch screen), just hit the previous track button twice (the first takes you to the beginning of the current track and the second takes you to the start of the previous track). Then hit the next track button once to take you back to the start of the original track that was playing. A couple of seconds later, the album artwork appears.
This proves it's just a simple bug, doesn't it? If it works when a track starts playing after doing previous/previous/next then surely it can be made to work when the track simply starts playing normally.
Here's hoping.

I've got a 1G 32GB iPod Touch (latest update) and iTunes (latest update for OSX) and Apple TV (latest update) and Remote (latest update).
Are you controlling an Apple TV library? Or an iTunes library? Presumably your iTunes is PC-based?
Does anyone out there have a similar set-up to me? If so, do you see a similar problem? Or is it just me?

Can I disable album artwork on my OS 7 Ipod touch 5th generation from showing up in the list of song/playlist, etc?
I liked how easy it was to find songs without going thru so much artwork. I know I can do it on itunes, but can I do it on the ipod itself?

Album Artwork question - Remote folder

One for the gurus ... I noticed that a new folder had appeared in my iTunes library structure (Album Artwork\Remote). I'm assuming that this was created as the result of accessing and browsing a shared library (I was helping my daughter fix some issues with her library and connected via network sharing). Is this assumption correct, and can I therefore ignore/delete this folder with no impact in my own library?

Album artworks messed up. Any way to restore without erasing device?

I have an Ipod touch 5th g.
After upgrade to ios7, it went all insane - I could not sync it with my iTunes. I was "okay, major upgrade, let's reset it".
After reset, everything went fine til now (I reset device on 20th september or so, it makes about 3 months).
Today, after morning re-sync, my album artworks (&some artist artworks) are messed up.
Most of my music is from iTunes store. Some (15%) is from my old CDs.
What should I do?
Reset is an option, but it stinks (e.g.: any iDevice is a thing that supposed to 'just work')

Well okay, I've unsynced/synced the device and waited a week.
For most time it was O.K., however after 2nd purchase my album art is all messed up again.
Unsyncing again.. Feeling somewhat strange.

ITS not updating album artwork

I have tried multiple ways listed on multiple posts. Let me spell out as much detail as I can here.

My podcast's album artwork has gone awry since they standard change to 1400x1400px for the artwork. I had made the recommended changes such as crearting a new file and referencing it, not overwriting my current file, but no luck. I have been reverted to the default artwork ever since.
After a month or so I had thought it may be the Wordpress plug-in I was using. BluBrry. Because now my feeds weren't updating. I tinkered around and re-installed BluBrry and Wordpress running all default recommended settings. My feed had finally updated, but not the album artwork. And for some reason my feed was only showing 9 episodes?
So I decided perhaps I'll dump everything on another domain and use Podcast Maker since it had a free 30 day trial.
I set 301's to my old feeds and included the iTunesNewUrl line.

Feed displays as valid but there has been no change in my ITS listing.
This is frustrating when I am regularly ranking in the top 50 in the Netherlands Music Podcasts, but displaying a generic placeholder graphic with no episodes being updated.

iTunes is indeed using the feed at http://podcast.hrdstyl.com/ at least for subscribers. The episodes up to 36 show in the Store: episode 37 shows when subscribing but as it was only uploaded today it won't appear in the Store for a day or two.
You have an image correctly referenced in the feed: it should appear in the Store eventually but it can take a week or two for images to appear.
You have a 301 redirect in place: I don't know what the result will be if you remove it. Obviously the itunes:new-feed-url only works if the Store can read the old feed - that will move it permanently. However Apple do advise using both, and leaving both in place for two weeks, so presumably it will be OK.

Someone please tell me how to get this stupid album artwork on my iPod!!!

okay, i know several people have posted question after question about this problem and no one has yet to answer it fully. i have collected album artwork to the songs on my iTunes, checked that stupid show album artwork under "get info", and now i don't know what to do. i need to know how to send my collection of album art that i found on various internet sites from iTunes to my iPod. the purchased music has pictures therefore i know that the pictures have the ability to show up, i'm just lacking the one or two steps to be able to transfer my album art to the ipod so they will show up when the songs are played. someone please answer this because i'm not the only one. trust me, i've read all the topics on this and i still haven't found someone to tell me how to do it.

okay i've been doing some trial and error with the advice that you gave me and i finally got it down. i ended up unchecking the album artwork box and then deleting every song off the iPod. then i checked the box, loaded all the songs back on the iPod and it worked. THERE IS A SOLUTION MY FRIENDS! PROBLEM SOLVED

Some album artwork won't display on iPad

Hi guys,
Some of the song's album artwork won't display on my iPad or iPhone but shows up against each song in the album on iTunes on my Mac. There are entire albums' artwork not showing, yet when I open and play the same song in iTunes on my mac, it's there.
Any ideas?

in iTunes, choose to not *display Album Artwork on your iPod*, then sync your iPod, then change it back to display album artwork and sync again. I believe that will fix it.

Album artwork does not appear in album list or grid

I added album artwork (did get info then copy and paste) and it shows up fine in cover flow but does not appear in album list or grid view.
What am I doing wrong? Artwork files were scanned from album covers that I have.

Your album artwork cache may be corrupt. Provided most, if not all, of your artwork is embedded you can simply delete the Album Artwork folder that you will find inside your main iTunes folder and then scroll slowly through the library in Grid/Albums mode to rebuild it. Any images that were "downloaded" rather than embedded will need to be reacquired.
Threre are separate folders for the downloaded and cached images, but I've always gone for a complete rebuild so I don't know it would work to delete just the cached folder.

Some album artwork no longer displays

I recently started having a problem where some of my album artwork will not display on my Ipod. It does show on Itunes. Some are Itunes purchases and some not. I tried deselecting artwork and resyncing, then selecting it and resyncing again with no luck.

I removed all music from my ipod, then synced it back on, all 15 gig worth. That got artwork back, but some songs are showing artwork from different albums.

ITunes 10, album artwork won't show on ipod 'selected item'

The songs on my computer display album artwork fine, but on my iPod (Classic) it only displays the 'Now Playing' artwork. If I set it to show 'Selected Item' it will only show the artwork of the song playing, if it's selected. It won't show album artwork of any other songs that I select, instead it shows the 'Drag Artwork Here' image, even when the songs already have artwork.
The artwork shows up fine when I'm playing songs on my ipod, or if I click 'Get Info', but it just won't show up in the side bar. I've tried unistalling and reinstalling iTunes and it didn't make a difference. I can't restore my ipod to factory settings because a lot of the music I have isn't backed up. Is there anything I can do?

Strangely I was able to find help myself. I checked one box under the settings that said something like "show album artwork". Strange because it was unchecked before, I had never checked it myself and previously all the artwork was visible properly...
When I clicked that checkbox, to my horror iTunes said something to the effect of "Deleting artwork from 'iPod'". After that it went for a long time into a "Optimizing artwork for 'iPod'" and after that wait all the artwork is shown properly. I wonder what that did...?

Is there a way to force a factory reset if I forgot the passcode to an old device?

I have 4 iphone 5c's and found an old iPhone 4 (not s) that I don't use anymore and wanted to give it to my son to use as a fancy ipod but I have forgotten the passcode for it and haven't synced with my new macbook pro. Is there an application or way to force a factory reset bypassing the passcode? All his sisters and brothers have iphones and he feels left out The device in question has been used on my apple account in the past, I just don't know how to get around the passcode thing ...

ITunes Remote - Album Artwork in Playlist Mode

It is extremely frustrating, lunacy really, that we can't see album artwork when in playlist view within Remote for iPad. Does anyone know of a workaround or different software?

The only way I was able to solve this problem was to set up a brand new Itunes library. It is a fairly quick and easy process but you will need to recreate all of your playlists. Certain information from your songs will also not carry over such as rating and play count. I don't remember how I brought over the apps, but there was an easy way to do this once the new library is set up.
To create a new library, first make sure that all of your music is backed up to your computer.
Exit out of Itunes and double click the Itunes icon while holding Shift.
Save the new library as whatever you like.
Drag and drop the music folder from the old library into the new one.
When you sync your Ipod with this new library the artwork will be fixed.

Is there a way to get rid of Album Artwork?

I know people like having the album artwork on their iPod, but I actually don't want it on mine at all. There used to be an option to tell iTunes to not load it at all, but now it seems they want me to have it whether I want it or not.
Is there a way to get rid of all the album artwork? The only way I've found has been to go through each individual song and delete the artwork. I'd rather not have to do it one by one if I can help it.
I even tried deleting the album artwork folder and iTunes just recreated it again. It may be something most people want, but I don't.

It's not about the art, actually. It's about the space on the screen. The pic takes up a lot of good 'real estate' and it usually pushes the song, artist album over to where the text runs off the screen. Long song titles scroll but albums don't.
Another plus (of not having the art) is if I click the center button through to see track position, rating, lyrics, etc then it's one less click I have to go through.

IPod Touch G2, Apple TV - Remote application missing artwork

I have a Touch G2 and an Apple TV. Both have the most current firmware. The remote app works well except most album artwork does not show up in the currently playing window. If I skip back and forth through songs the artwork may eventually show up, but not always. The artwork shows up fine on the TV if it is on.
Anyone know how to fix this?

If the light is flashing amber when you try to use the remote, you may have accidentally unpaired it when it was previously paired or paired another remote with the unit. You can reset the pairing (unpair) by pressing the rewind and menu button together for 6 seconds.
