Album Covers Cannot Display

I just upgraded to the latest version (7.0.1) on two of my machines. It works fine on one, but on the other I can't seem to display album covers in the main window. When I switch to the 3rd view, I get the message "iTunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer". The artwork still shows in the little lower-left corner window, but not the main window. Any ideas why? Thanks in advance.

Well...
I downloaded/installed the updated iTunes. It didn't solve the art display problem, but it SEEMS to have solved the audio problems that I and everyone else has been experiencing. I say that with great reserve as I haven't been able to thoroughly test that yet.
As for my video drivers, those appear to be as up-to-date as possible. However, this laptop is about 4 years old and it looks like the graphics maker (S3) no longer supplies updates for this particular adapter. So I may be stuck. It seems to work on all my other (newer) PCs, so it may not be worth any more aggravation. Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll continue to keep my eyes and ears open.

    ME TOO.
I think mine are all still in alphabetical order, but :
    * movies I deleted from my library and told "hide this purchase in the cloud" are showing up again. If I try to play them, I get the "cannot find the file in its proper location, would you like to locate it" error message.
    * for movies that have "iTunes Extras," the extras show up as a separate item, with another copy of the movie artwork. Most of these I believe I had DELETED the "iTunes Extras" anyway.
    * Items are showing up multiple times.
    * A few MUSIC ALBUMS are listed in my Movies section.
    * Some movies (I believe ones that I deleted off my HD but are still in the cloud) are showing random album covers instead of their proper artwork.
    * Just rented a movie, and it didn't show up anywhere in my library. It downloaded properly and completely, was in a suitably labeled folder in my iTunes/Media/Movies section, but didn't show up in any section of the library (or via a library search). Had to manually find it and tell it to open the file using iTunes.
Running the latest version, even checked for updates. No other changes made lately since the last round of apple software updates. This was wonky before the latest small update to iTunes - now it's even wonkier. And it is very, VERY effing annoying.

  • Cannot display album artwork on this computer

Every time I open up itunes it says that album artwork cannot be displayed on this computer. Is there a way to fix this and has anybody else been experiencing the same problem?

  • ITunes 7 cannot browse album covers on this computer error and crash

Installed iTunes 7 yesterday, and now every time I try to go to certain pages in the iTunes store, such as movies or tv shows, I get an error saying "iTunes cannot browse album covers on this computer". Then iTunes immediately crashes. Has anyone else had this problem? Any fix??

I have the same issue. Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I was on the Cover Flow View and it was working fine. I clicked on the full screen icon and the entire screen went random (meaning totally random pixels of color all over). I pressed the escape key and the normal screen returned, but it only showed a black section where the covers had previously been. I restarted iTunes and it started giving me the same message. I also can see them in the lower left and on the Album View. Just the Cover Flow view doesn't work. I downloaded the latest iTunes today and I keep all of the Windows updates on.

  • Doesn't display album covers for individually selected songs.  Why?

I just synced up my new iPod Classic and am surprised that it doesn't display album covers when I individually select songs or when it shuffles songs. The artwork is there - it displays them in Cover Flow or when I select songs from the Album list, but not when I select songs from the Song list or when it shuffles.  Why not?  Is there a setting I need to fix?

    You're adding the artwork incorrectly.
Instead of selecting the first track of the album, select the complete album. Then select File/Get Info and answer "yes" to the "multpile items" question. The Artwork box is now on the Info tab instead of its own tab. Paste the artwork into that one box and that will add it to the whole album.
I can't be precise about the detail, but as far as I know, there will be one piece of artwork and iTunes and your iPod will refer to that one picture for each track, so it will not be taking up extra storage space.
Pasting the artwork into each track individually will drive you crazy - and I suspect it will take up extra space.
(If fellow "discussions user" tt2 adds to this post, I'm pretty sure he will confirm {or not if I'm wrong} what I've said about the extra space used if you paste into each track individually.)

  • Album covers won't display in Cover Flow mode.

I've just recently re-installed my Windows XP, re-installed iTunes, and re-installed all my music again from my back-up discs. My iTunes is working fine ie plays the music, searches, displays iTunes store etc. However, when I click on the Cover View icon when playing an album it states, 'iTunes unable to browse album covers on this computer'. The album covers show up in the list/album view but not in cover view. It didn't do this before. Maybe it's something simple I've missed - any ideas?

  • Cannot Browse Album Covers

Hello All, first time posting here....hope someone can help! I have upgraded two versions of Itunes for my PC, the and I still cannot browse album artwork. I can see artwork for my playlists and main library, but when I click the far right button, I guess it would be called the Cover Flow button, I get a message saying "Itunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer."
I installed Itunes for my gf last night on her pc, and that feature works great, but not on mine. Am I missing something?
    thanks,

Thanks for the link, most helpful article! I've downloaded a driver for my card from the SIS site, now it's in a zip file and I don't know how to open it! I'm running something called WinRar (i think)

  • My music playlists are not displayed, all I have are album covers, how do I display my playlists?

Wife's iPad2, she wants the playlists displayed, not the album covers.......

You need to have a different Apple ID for each of the other devices.

    Lots and lots of questions
The new Photos app in OS X should address much of this - it greatly simplifies syncing stuff across machines. Apple has details on it up here:
    https://www.apple.com/osx/photos-preview/
It says "coming this spring" and a pre-release version has already been made available to developer testers.

  • IPad3-iTunes won't display album covers-freezes

iTunes locks up on my iPad 3 and does not display Album covers. All else works fune. I have restored as a new iPad and iTunes is fine.  Unfortunately, after loading apps from iTunes back on, iTunes begins to again have same problem.

  • Displaying album covers

I've had my iPod classic since before New Year, and suddenly the last three albums I've burned onto it do not show the artwork on the iPod. It displays in iTunes without any difficulty, so far I've tried:
    - Deleting the covers, and dragging in different kinds of image file. All display on the PC with no difficulty, but fail to display on the iPod.
    - Converting the file type between mp3 & AAC, all to no avail.
    - Deleting the music entirely, and re-burning. Still nothing.
    - Uploading both directly from iTunes & scanning the cover in, resizing and drag / drog.
Nothing I've tried has worked, so now I'm left with over 10,000 tracks from numerous albums all happily displaying the correct covers, with the sole exception of these three new albums!
    Any idea, experienced users?

    Try these...
*Why is artwork not showing on my iPod when it's there in iTunes?*
iTunes will display a cover in many of it's views provided at least one track from the album has embedded artwork. The iPod appears to load only the artwork from track one to create the cover flow and album views which means that it can sometimes fail to display art for albums even when you can see the art in iTunes. Further, when tracks are played on the iPod, artwork is displayed if and only if it exisits in the currently playing track, so track one may show art while track two does not.
*How to find tracks without artwork*
To find all the tracks without artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts13.php for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant jpeg images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus. If you have artwork for some tracks of an album, but not others, select a track with artwork, right-click (Option-Click for Macs) on the art & click copy, then select all the tracks of the abum, use CTRL-I or Option-I to *Get Info* and then paste the image into the artwork box.
I say 320x320 because I believe (from using TouchCopy) that it's the size used in the iPod cache so if you're going to crop or resize you might as well work to that size. Otherwise 200x200 is probably good enough.
    *Rebuild artwork cache*
Sometimes the artwork cache becomes corrupt and fails to show correct artwork, even when this is properly set up in iTunes. To rebuild the artwork cache, connect your iPod to iTunes. Locate the iPod in the Sources pane on the left-hand side, then select the Music tab. Remove the tick from *Display album artwork on your iPod*, sync the iPod, reselect the option & sync again.

  • Album artwork - itunes cannot find some album covers?

iTunes says that it cannot find album covers for some albums, some examples being - "ok computer" (radiohead). any ideas why this happens, and how i can resolve would be appreciated !
    thanks.

iTunes will only download artwork for albums that are on sale in the iTunes Store. I don't believe OK Computer is available through iTunes. if you can't find the album covers you want from iTunes you can get them from various other sources. I find this site is a good source of artwork: CD/Album Cover Art Search from SlothRadio.
Another place for finding suitable artwork is to go to Amazon. You can also locate artwork using Google image search and put the artist or album name. Locate the album from any of those sources, right click on the image and save it to the desktop, once it's there drag it to the iTunes artwork pane. Once you've added the artwork you can either delete the original file or keep it in a folder somewhere in case you need to use it again. Alternatively there are programs like these that help locate artwork: iTunes Art Importer or MP3 Tag
If you have a scanner you can create your own artwork files by scanning the CD cover itself, this is particularly useful when you are dealing with rare recordings. You'll get information on adding artwork manually and automatically at this link: iTunes 7 for Windows - Adding artwork to songs and other items

  • Album covers displayed on Video iPod?

How do I get album covers displayed on my Video iPod?

Copy the album artwork from somewhere like Google images or Amazon or where I like to get from http://www.thejosher.net/iTunes/ and go to the song you want with that artwork and right-click to get info and go to artwork and paste it; You can do the same with multiple songs except you would have to press and hold the CTRL button and click on the songs at the same time.
