ALE Consistency Check Msg - Permissibility of function module

Hi,
I'm running a consistency check (BDM5) on a ALE model and I am getting a red messaged on Permissibility of function module - Function module is not valid.  The function module does exist.  What is this msg referring to?
Thanks,
Nancy

Hi Mateus,
The systems ED1, ET1 and EP1 are JAVA systems and therefore no client number applicable. When I run a project which has only a JAVA landscape there are no error. However, with a mixed landscape i.e. ABAP and JAVA in the same project this error message occurs.
At this point in time we have decide not to run projects with a mixed landscapes.
I am still interested to know if it's possible to run such a project and assign to CHaRM.

  • Syntax check for tables and function modules

    Hi,
I am writing a program that perform syntax check on object such as executable programs , function modules and tables.
Syntax check works fine for programs, but not for tables.
How can I perform syntax check on my tables or structures?
I get my data from the table TADIR. But I don't get my function modules from there. What is the table for this.
    Thanks 4 ur replies.

    hi
    good
generally in sap while creating a table or structure we get the error and we solved them, but like reports during runtime it is not possible to check the syntax of a table or structure.

  • Deactivate authorization checks in BSP or function modules?

    Hi all
I have a BSP application that seems to use a standard function module that performs an unwanted authorization check on object M_MATE_VKO (Material check on sales organization)
I know it is possible to globally deactivate authorization checks in certain SAP transactions (SU24)
Does anyone know if there is a similar functionality for BSP applications or function modules? Any suggestions on how to deactivate such authorization checks in BSP applications?
    Regards
    Mike

    > I will also check with my developer if this function module has any return codes etc that can be useful for a custom authorization check. However, I thought these checks were all done within the function module and that it will only return a true/false authorization, sort of... and I am not sure it's a good idea to override all standard authorization checks in this function module
Sometimes you can handle the messages, but your developer will be able to help you decide whether that is a good idea or not.
Globally deactivating the object for the whole system is most likely not a good idea, as you seem not to want to grant it because you need it somewhere else...
Deactivating all checks for the function module is probably not wise either, as I would think that it applies to the whole function group. Developers can do such things sometimes, but often it results in all end users being able to do the same.
I know that proposal indicators can be set for function modules, but have not tried check indicators. Again, I suspect that it would apply to the whole function group.
I would think that a carefull choice of function module and consulting with your functional guru about config which will not interfer with other requirements is the best route to take.
I like threads like this. If I bump into a specific solution I will remember it. Try using the search here at SDN on the names of some of the FM's which you are considering - someone might already have solved it...

  • Function module with UPDATE TASK

    All,
Have a look at the below code. While debugging the control is not going inside the function module called using <b>call function ...... in update task</b> statement.
I believe the function module is not executed immediately, but is scheduled for execution in a special work process (update work process). For this purpose, the name of the function module including the passed actual parameters is stored as a log record in the database table VBLOG. If the statement is executed during the update task, the addition IN UPDATE TASK is ignored.
The actual execution is triggered by the statement COMMIT WORK which is not happening in this case. The formal parameters of the function module receive the values of the actual parameters from table VBLOG. How can I read the entries in VBLOG? Why the function module is not executed? Please suggest.
PERFORM bte_publish ON COMMIT LEVEL 9.
    * syncron update
        COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
    *       Publish business transaction events. The function module have
    *       to call as last update module!
    FORM bte_publish.
      IF NOT gvt_nodes IS INITIAL.
CALL FUNCTION 'CUSTOMER_HIERARCHY_THROW_BTE' IN UPDATE TASK
             EXPORTING
                  ffi_valid_on    = knvh-datab
                  fti_event_list  = gvt_nodes
                  fti_event_listx = gvt_nodesx.
      ENDIF.
    ENDFORM.                               " BTE_PUBLISH
    Thanks,

Right Naren. But I need to check inside the update function module, whether it is calling the BTE function module I had configured and the code which I had put in it. Any ideas?
The COMMIT WORK is returning 4 and hence I believe it is not popping up another debuggin session in which the update FM runs.

  • Calling Z function module from BSP page

    hi,
i am calling a z function module from BSP application ROS_SELF_REG ,The z function module is inside a z function group,It does not give any sytnax error..but while running BSP application ,it is going into dump saying that Z function module is not found..Any idea why this is happening???

    Hi,
Check whether the Z function module is spelled correctly. Also try activating the whole function group and function module in se80 transaction.
Check whether the BSP application is calling the Z FM from the correct server/client where it is available.

  • How to import a range in Function module?

I am using a Function module in which material is getting imported.
In the import tab we have
Parameter Name    Typing     Associated Type       optional          pass value
    IM_MATERIAL       TYPE       MATNR                 <checked>         <checked>
So when the Function module is execute we can enter only one value into the IM_MATERIAL.
But now it has to be enhanced for entering multiple values. How to import the material as a range?
    Please throw light.
    Thanks.

    Hi
If you are using a select-options you can use this approach.
    TABLES: MARA.
    DATA: RANGE TYPE WRF_MATNR_RANG_TTY.
    SELECT-OPTIONS: SO_MATNR FOR MARA-MATNR.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      RANGE[] = SO_MATNR[].
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZTEST'
    EXPORTING
       I_RANGE       = RANGE.
Where I_RANGE is defined using this table type WRF_MATNR_RANG_TTY
Parameter Name    Typing     Associated Type     optional          pass value
    I_RANGE       TYPE       WRF_MATNR_RANG_TTY      <checked>     <checked>

  • How to debug mapping function module during delta extraction?

    Hi experts,
Somehow our delta is not working properly, and i would like to debug our mapping function module. How can i debug it during a delta extraction?
    Some info:
Our source system is CRM and our extractor is extracting one order document (contracts in this case). I know that when we modify a contract, a bdoc is generated and then passed throught the mapping function then the extracted data to the delta queue. I just need to debug when the bdoc is being mapped to see what's wrong with the extracted data.
    Thanks in advance,
    Van

    Hi,
Since you are using a Function Module for the Extraction. Edit the Function Module and give "BREAK-POINT" before the loop command. Check and activate the Function Module.
Now Extract the datasource using RSA3. Now you can debug it. After checking remove the "BREAK-POINT" from the function module. Also Check and activate the same.

  • Receiver Type Function Module in SWE2 use of export parameter.

i am trying to understand the underlying concept in following things:(neednot to say i have searched alot and read sap documentation already).
In event type linkage table say i have an entry for BOR -> AFVC_PM.
As per sap Documentation says all these FM will trigger in following way.
1 Check Function Module (to place any validations/checks)
2 Receiver Type Function Module ()
    3 Receiver Function Module.
    Thats fine.
This is what documentation says about Receiver Type FM(2nd FM) not Receiver FM(3rd FM).
This FM has 1 export paramter
    Export parameters
RECTYPE type SWETYPECOU-RECTYPE Receiver type( Result of the evaluation by the receiver type function module.)
if i am understanding this right, in this FM receiver type will be decided .

after everything executed successfully why i can't see that mail in my inbox.

ok,indeed i was missing this thing.
i got the mails in inbox.
but why i can't see this value WS90000024 of this workflow ()which is going to be triggered ) in parameter RECTYPE.(its empty).
it is empty after the receiver type function module execution is complete.

For table parameters, you can only pass

    Hi
See the doc on fun modules and create accordingly
    Function Modules;
    Check this matter.
Function Modules are Global ABAP programs created by SAP for reusable purpose.they have IMPORT,EXPORT and TABLE parameters, and EXCEPTIONS to through when error occurs.
You can create them from TCode SE37.
    Go through the following doc:
Function modules are cross-program, reusable procedures that are organized into function groups, and whose functions are implemented between the statements FUNCTION and ENDFUNCTION. Function modules and their interfaces are created in the Function Builder.
    Function Module Interfaces
The parameter interface of a function module is defined in the Function Builder. It includes the definition of interface parameters and the specification of exceptions that can be triggered by a function module. The Function Builder automatically generates comment lines below the FUNCTION statement in the source code of the function module, which represent the interface of the function module with the following syntax:
    Syntax
    ... [IMPORTING parameters]
    [EXPORTING parameters]
    [CHANGING parameters]
    [TABLES table_parameters]
    [{RAISING|EXCEPTIONS} exc1 exc2 ...]
The syntax and semantics of IMPORTING, EXPORTING, CHANGING, RAISING, and EXCEPTIONS mainly correspond to the definition of method interfaces with [CLASS-]METHODS. The additional option of defining table parameters using TABLES is obsolete.
    Interface parameters
The interface parameters are defined on the relevant tab pages in the Function Builder.
IMPORTING parameters are input parameters. When the function module is called, a suitable actual parameter must be specified for every non-optional input parameter. The content of the actual parameter is passed to the input parameter when the call is made. The content of an input parameter for which 'pass by reference' is defined cannot be changed in the function module.
EXPORTING parameters are output parameters. When the function module is called, a suitable actual parameter can be specified for every output parameter. The content of an output parameter that is defined for 'pass by value' is transferred to the actual parameter if the function module is completed without errors. An output parameter that is defined for pass by reference is not initialized when the function module is called.
CHANGING parameters are input and output parameters. When the function module is called, a suitable actual parameter must be specified for every non-optional input or output parameter. When the function module is called, the content of the actual parameter is passed to the input/output parameter, and when the function module is completed, the content of the input/output parameter is passed to the actual parameter.
TABLES parameters are table parameters. Table parameters are obsolete CHANGING parameters that are typed as standard tables with a header line. If an internal table without a header line or a table body is passed as an actual parameter to a formal parameter of this type, an empty local header line is generated in the function module. If an internal table with a header line is used as an actual parameter, both the table body and the header line are passed to the function module. Pass by value is not possible in formal parameters defined using TABLES. Formal parameters defined with TABLES can be replaced by formal parameters defined with CHANGING. A local work area can be created for the internal table in the function module by using the addition LIKE LINE OF itab of the DATA statement.
    Exceptions
The exception of a function module are defined on the Exceptions tab page in the Function Builder. Here you can select exception classes to define whether class-based exceptions are declared or non-class-based exception are defined. Class-based exceptions are represented in the above syntax by RAISING, and non-class-based exceptions are represented by EXCEPTIONS.
The addition RAISING is used to declare class-based exceptions that can be propagated from the function module to the caller. Exceptions in the categories CX_STATIC_CHECK and CX_DYNAMIC_CHECK must be explicitly declared, otherwise a propagation can lead to an interface violation. A violation of the interface leads to the treatable exception CX_SY_NO_HANDLER. Exceptions of the category CX_NO_CHECK are implicitly always declared. The declaration of exceptions of the category CX_STATIC_CHECK is statically checked in the syntax check. For exceptions of the category CX_DYNAMIC_CHECK, the check is not performed until runtime. In a function module in which class-based exceptions are declared with the RAISING addition, the statement CATCH SYSTEM-EXCEPTIONS cannot be used. Instead, the relevant treatable exceptions should be handled in a TRY control structure.
The addition EXCEPTIONS is used to define a list of non-class-based exceptions that can be triggered in the function module using the statements RAISE or MESSAGE RAISING. Exceptions defined in this way - as with formal parameters - are bound to the function module and cannot be propagated. If an exception of this type is triggered in a function module, and no return value has been assigned to it with the homonymous addition EXCEPTIONS of the CALL FUNCTION statement when the call was made, this leads to a runtime error.
    Note
For new developments after release 6.10, SAP recommends that you work with class-based exceptions that are independent of the function module.
RFC is a technology which is used to access a functions (Modules) from

If a function module is set as remote enabled which can be access from
the remote system via RFC.Eg: U can access the Remote enabled function modules in ur VB,Webdynpro,Java,Visual composer program.

But Normal function modules can not accessd from the remote system.
Good Example for RFC enabled function module is : BAPI(Business Application Programming Interface)
Note: All BAPIs are Remote enabled but not all remote enabled function modules are BAPI.

  • EasyDMS : Function module to define allowed document types

    Hello together,
I am working on EasyDMS 6.00 and have implemented the function module "Z_EASYDMS_GETDOCTYPES" to have a filtered list of allowed document types for creating folders and documents in EasyDMS.
But this FM does not seem to work, the list still contains all document types that are customized in R3.
    Here is my implementation:
    FUNCTION z_easydms_getdoctypes.
    *"*"Lokale Schnittstelle:
    *"  IMPORTING
    *"     VALUE(FOLDERDOCUMENT) TYPE  BAPI_DOC_KEYS OPTIONAL
    *"     VALUE(ISFOLDER) LIKE  BAPI_DOC_DRAW2-CADINDICATOR OPTIONAL
    *"  EXPORTING
    *"     VALUE(RETURN) TYPE  BAPIRET2
    *"  TABLES
    *"      DOCUMENTTYPES STRUCTURE  TDWAI OPTIONAL
    * default implementation: define some document types
    * for documents and folders
      DATA: ls_tdwai TYPE tdwai.
      REFRESH: documenttypes.
      IF isfolder IS INITIAL.
        ls_tdwai-dokar = 'IMP'.APPEND ls_tdwai TO documenttypes.
        ls_tdwai-dokar = 'TST'.APPEND ls_tdwai TO documenttypes.
        ls_tdwai-dokar = 'DMO'.APPEND ls_tdwai TO documenttypes.
        ls_tdwai-dokar = 'DRW'.APPEND ls_tdwai TO documenttypes.
      ELSE.
        ls_tdwai-dokar = 'IMP'.APPEND ls_tdwai TO documenttypes.
        ls_tdwai-dokar = 'DMO'.APPEND ls_tdwai TO documenttypes.
      ENDIF.
    ENDFUNCTION.
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks in advice,
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
concerning the used function module I can tell you that it is called in Easy DMS. Before Easy DMS calls this module an availability check is made if it is activated too. So please check if the mentioned function module is activated in your system.
Further I can recommend you to delete the RFC Cache in Easy DMS and check again if the desired functionality is available now.
If this doesn't help the problem may be caused by the implementation of the function module.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Doubt in the function module POPUP_GET_VALUES

    Hi,
i am using the function module POPUP_GET_VALUES. I am giving the table name and field name but the field name shows in display mode i am not able to enter any values in the given popup. What is the problem

    Hi,
U can go through the FM documentation:
Dialog box for the display and request of values, without check
    Preliminary comment
This function module has been released.
The documentation is being revised so that it conforms to the requirements for released function modules.
    Function
This function module sends a dialog box and includes the fields specified in the FIELDS interface table. The fields specified in the FIELDS table must be defined in the ABAP Dictionary.
If no text is specified for a field, the ABAP Dictionary key word is displayed. The key words and fields can be displayed normally or highlighted. You must also define whether the fields are ready for input or not, and whether they are mandatory or not. Defaults can be defined for the fields.
After the display, the values entered by the user in the date and time fields are checked for formatting and plausability. Otherwise, the values entered are returned to the user unchecked.
The function module can be used, for example, to:
    Display information
Request values which do not need to be checked
Request values to limit data accesses ( from - to)
    Support prototyping
    Examples
For examples, see the program RSSPO410.
    Notes
    Conversion exits are handled normally.
References from CURR and QUAN fields are handled if the reference fields are also specified. The display of the reference fields can be suppressed.
If a currency field (type CURR) is specified, then the field assigned in the ABAP Dictionary for the currency key (type CUKY) must also be specified. The display of the currency key field can be suppressed (if filled initially).
Dates are checked according to the definition in the user master data.
Times must be entered using the '__:__:__' template.
F1 help and F4 help are supported.
Each field can be specified once only. Repeated fields or field groups are not supported. Table names preceded by an asterisk are an exception to this.
Only fields wih the ABAP type C, N, T, D, P, or Integer are permitted.
    No updates are performed.
A maximum of ten fields can be displayed in a dialog box. If there are more than ten fields, a dialog box with a scroll bar is sent. You can use the POPUP_GET_VALUES_SET_MAX_FIELD function module to change the maximum number of fields in a dialog box.
If you use this function module, remember that ABAP Dictionary tables are sent implicitly using variables. A cross-reference across tables used in programs cannot determine these tables. For this reason, declare the tables under TABLES in the calling program.
    Hope this helps.
