Align frames

How do I align my frames in CS2?

Your version of InDesign is pretty old. In current versions of InDesign, you'd choose Window > Object & Layout > Align to open the Align panel. It's used for aligning various page objects.
You can also drag out ruler guides from the rulers and align frames to the ruler guides.
Refer to InDesign Help for more information.

  • Is there a way to automatically align frames based on content?

    Hello all, I'm fairly new to Premiere and to video in general, but I'm making a timelapse self portrait project and I'm wondering if there is a software solution to lining up the individual photos I'm using based on facial features, so essentially the face would remain in one position throughout the video without me having to manually align each frame? Thanks in advance!

    You might be able to accomplish this in After Effects using Motion Tracking.  I don't know if that feature works on an image sequence, so it might be necessary to export those images as a single movie file first.

  • CS3 Raw Retouching & Red Eye Tool Missing

    So I've been using the CS3 Beta and love it but when I open up my Raw images eager to use the retouching tool to get rid of dust from the sensor, the tool isn't there, nor is the red eye tool. It looks like its the raw interface from CS2 even though I opened the raw files from CS3. Any ideas on what's going wrong?

    "I can see that you can set the destination for all the shots at once, but don't you then have to go through all shots and individually tailor the source for each? "
    No...here's the logic-as long as you don't actually MOVE the source, each image will have the source auto-selected while healing the destination. Pretty swift actually (thanks T & Z). If you DO move the source, then the moved source is used in all the images...so there's two way to play it. Let the auto-source select work and all the resulting images will be auto-source on a per image basis or select a custom source and all the images will then be manually set.
    And, it work very well. It's conceivable that some images may need individual source selections moved...I've found it's useful to review images after the healing has been distributed to multiple images.
    I've also found it's useful to segregate what is a repeating spot from a one image tweak. So, if you are shooting portraits for example, unless you have registration, the odds are that blemishes will need to be done on a shot by shot basis not done to one and distributed...since the odds of the blemish aligning frame to frame is nil.
    So, do the shared healing amongst all the images where the same spot is in registration and then go back image by image for specific touches.

  • Need FLM (filmstrip format?)

    Hi, I need to export a project as filmstrip format, but I see that it's been removed from all recent and readily available versions of Elements and Premiere Pro. I've read other threads saying flm is unnecessary because most everything it was good for is now possible on simpler programs with the right know-how. Specifically I am trying to ink-jet print individual frames of a digital video onto clear film leader taped to a sheet of printer paper to create projectable 16mm film. Is there a simple way to do a drag and drop template? Or something that would not be so labor intensive as aligning frame after frame. Any advice?
    thanks.

    Can you copy/paste in to this?

  • Text will NOT align to top of text frame

    The text is low in the text frame even though the vertical justification is set to align TOP in the text frame options and the first baseline offset is set to Ascent in baseline options. There is no baseline shift or inset set and align to baseline grid is NOT selected. Any ideas how to fix it so the text is at the top of the box? Thanks!

    @gtingley – did you try:
    1. Copy/Paste the text frame to a fresh document?
    2. Export as IDMS (snippet) file and place it again?
    Just out of fun, did you try to copy/paste the text to a new text frame? Is a object format applied to the text frame? (Just fishing in the dark.)

  • How do I align a placed image in a frame using JS?

    I am new both to javascript and to scripting for InDesign, so please bear with me on this question.
    I am trying to align an image in a graphic frame so it aligns to the top right corner of the frame.
    I can do this using the InDesign interface by following these steps:
    1. Create a rectangular frame.
    2. Right-clicking the frame and selecting "Fitting > Frame Fitting Options."
    3. Selecting the top-right square in the "Alignment" area of the Frame Fitting Options dialogue.
    For me, this automatically aligns the image to the top right corner in the selected text frame, even if there is a placed item in the frame.
    I am trying to apply this to the actual image frame using the following code where "modelFrame" is the rectangle that is the parent of the placed image:
              modelFrame.frameFittingOptions.fittingAlignment.anchorPoint = AnchorPoint.TOP_RIGHT_ANCHOR;
    I am not getting an error, but I am also not getting the desired results (in fact, it doesn't change anythign at all). What am I doing wrong?

    Hi lanejd,
    I have got the same issue as you but had just found the solution. Please see below:
    modelFrame.frameFittingOptions.fittingAlignment.anchorPoint = AnchorPoint.TOP_RIGHT_ANCHOR;
    This will only set the properties for the Frame Fitting Options. You will need to call a method/function. Add the below line to your script and it will execute the Frame fitting Options.
    modelFrame.fit(FitOptions.applyFrameFittingOptions);
    Hope this help!

    Try creating a new project, and bring in a short clip and one or 2 subtitles and see if you see the same behavior.  If you don't,  something's probably wonky in the project.  If the sample behavior has the same problem, if you want to send it to me with the associated media, I'll take a quick look.

  • Align left panels inside BoxLayOut / Center a frame center screen

    Hi,
    I've googled for a good while now so now I'm posting the question I have not found a satisfactory answer. It may be that I've been searching by the wrong terms, because it's an easy thing in concept. This is a JSwing question and all terms below apply to that.
    I have a method which takes a container that has a BoxLayout manager. Each item I add is a new row, which is good. The bad thing is that each item is centered aligned. I'm adding a label and textfield into a panel which I then add to the container. I have tried .setAlignmentX to the label, textfield, panel, and all combination pertaining. I can not for the life of me do it. Please see below for pertinent code.
    public void addComponentsToPane(Container pane) {
    pane.setLayout(new BoxLayout(pane, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
    JPanel user = new JPanel();
    JLabel userL = new JLabel("Username: ");
    JTextField userT = new JTextField(20);
    user.add(userL);
    user.add(userT);
    user.setAlignmentX(Component.LEFT_ALIGNMENT);
    I hate to put two questions in one thread, but I'm stuck and it's been a long weekend. How come frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null); doesn't set the frame to the center of the window. It's slightly off center; too far to the right and down.
    Thanks in advance for any help given by the community. I appreciate it and hope I haven't broken any guidelines for the forum.

    Go through the [url http://download.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/layout/box.html]tutorial for BoxLayout where you will find working code samples. After that, if you still have a problem, post a [url http://mindprod.com/jgloss/sscce.html]SSCCE (Short, Self Contained, Compilable and Executable) that members can copy and run to see where you've slipped up.

  • Centre aligning images within picture frame using XML file

    Hi
    I am using a flash file that uses an xml file to upload a
    series of images one at a time into a picture holder.
    There are two different widths of the images. The height is
    always the same. Is it possible to set this up so every image that
    the xml file calls is centre aligned within the picture frame.
    At the moment when using the xml file to load the image it
    always left aligns the image when it brings it into the picture
    frame even if you change the alignment to centre align within in
    the align panel.
    Does anyone have a suggestion why this is happening or how to
    fix it?
    Thanks for the help

    You're welcome. Pleased it worked.
    All it does is use the MovieClipLoader class to load the
    images into your holder_mc. Because loading takes time, and because
    you can't check or adjust the size or position of images until they
    have loaded, the MovieClipLoader class gives you a handy option to
    run some code whenever its finished loading something you told it
    to load.
    That's what the addListener instruction does... it says
    whenever myLoader has something new to tell me about the status of
    the load requests I ask it to do... make it run some related code
    in the listener object (which is called loadListener in this
    code... it could equally be called something else). You 'listen'
    for different events or updates of status. All I 'listened' for
    here was the onLoadInit event.
    The onLoadInit is the 'final' status update after loading. It
    occurs when something has loaded and its properties are accessible
    (_x, _width etc). The target_mc that is an argument for the
    loadListener.onLoadInit is a reference to the clip that was loaded
    into.
    The best way to learn about this stuff is probably to read up
    on MovieClipLoader in the livedocs and try google to see if there's
    an online tutorial somewhere. Then give it a try yourself in
    another new fla.
    cheers

  • Aligning Image within a frame.

    I am building an A Card using a batch of images. I learned yesterday how to the data merge and that is working well. Now I need to align each image to the bottom of the frame the image is being placed into. I have looked, and searched, but I don't see a simple option to bottom align.
    Any help would be appreciated. Thank-you.

    Seeing as my habits were formed before the auto-fit features were introduced, I don't use the Frame Fitting Options dialog much, so I was compelled to check it out. As far as I can tell, the 9-point proxy is relevant to the side or corner of the containing frame to which you want an auto-fitted graphic to "pin" as it is affected by that fitting behavior.
    In order to get what I think the OP wants, I'd leave Auto-Fit and Content Fitting, (and the misnamed, in my opinion, Align From: proxy), alone and go right to the Crop Amount fields. Presumably, if the graphic and the frame are not currently sized and aligned identically, there will be values in those fields other than 0. To get bottom-flush alignment, with the Crop Amount fields unlinked, set the Bottom field to 0. Here, that appears to reposition the graphic in the frame to a bottom-alignment without affecting it or the frame in any other way.

  • How to re align a layer to a composition every frame using a script?

    I have a text layer in a composition. The text on the layer changes every frame. What I want to do is write a script that aligns that layer to the composition every frame.
    If you need further info, just tell me. I need your help in this one.

    I'm not sure what you are trying to do but I think you are looking for a monospaced font. No script I know of will be able to determine the differences between kerning on a metric or optically kerned font to keep the characters all in the same position, but a monospaced font does this automatically. Try changing the font to courier and see if that solves your problem. If it doesn't then explain in detail and provide examples or screenshots that include everything you are having problems with.

  • Frame content alignment

    Hi All,
    Does anyone know how to retrieve and set frame content alignment settings, not text alignment?
    Thank you in advance.

    Here is the solution:
    IMultiColumnTextFrame::GetVerticalJustification ();
    IMultiColumnTextFrame::SetVerticalJustification (Text::VerticalJustification vj)
    available values for Text::VerticalJustification are: kVJTop, kVJCenter, kVJBottom, kVJJustify, kVJInvalid, kVJNumValues

  • Aligning Text in Text Frame

    I am placing text within a text frame on the header of my master page. Once I have the text centered and aligned within the text frame in the design screen and go to the preview screen the text displays as skewed to one side (usually to the left). In order to have the text centered within the frame on my published site I had to skew it off center in design mode. See the 'modern kids clothing' text box at the top of my site www.kikikidswear.com
    Is there something I am doing wrong?
    I've also noticed that when I view my published site on a wide screen monitor other text gets skewed such as the words 'kids wear' on the header and the copyright info in the bottom right of my footer.

    Hi Abhishek. Here are the screen shots. These aren't exactly what was used to upload my site as I've played around in Muse trying to figure this out but you can see what the issue is I think by comparing the design view and the preview view. In order to get the text to display as centered (relatively centered in this example) in preview or when previewed in a browser I've had to skew the text fairly far to the right of the text box in design mode. I generally preview in IE explorer 8 on Windows XP although I do also preview the website in other browsers (Firefox, Opera, Safari). The text alignment has not been an issue between browsers although I notice the KIKI logo text in browsers other than IE is slightly jagged on the letter K.
