Aligning the end of a cutaway

How does one go about aligning the end of a cutaway (and it's corresponding audio) such that a transition can be added to the end? No matter how I cut it, the transition is ghosted (and doesn't work).

You should not use a transition with a Cutaway.
iMovie does all rendering in one pass, and a cutaway and a transition would require two renders.
One way to do it would be to use Final Cut Pro, which allows as many renders as you need.
The other way would be to do the Cutaway. Then Share the Project using Export using QuickTime in Apple Intermediate Codec. Import this rendered clip back into an iMovie Event. Then apply a transition.

How do I align stroke brushes on path starting at the end of a path?

Hello,
I made a path with no fill and a stroke. I copied this path in place and made a "brush-arrowhead" as you can see in the image below. This allows me to get a look that arrays my arrowhead across the entire path. My issue is that where I started the path (not show in image), the brush applies the first "arrowhead" brush (which I created) at the beginning of my path. As you can see, the end of the path doesn't look so nice because the arrowhead brush does not end evenly based on the varying distances of each path. I would like my paths to end with an arrowhead, yet still have this "array" look.
Simply put, is there a way I can dictate which end of my path (end point or start point) my brush "arrowhead" begins from?

The default arrowhead are specifically designed with a bounding box designed to not have this problem, and even have this option
You are wanting arrows in the middle of a line so would recommend a scatter brush.
And a stacked appearance with 2 strokes.
Though you may not like who the dashes are lining up here so if you go back to the first method I show, you can do a few paths too get this.

Tried with fake footnotes: Impossible. The text has footnotes and converting the faked ones to text is not available.
Tried a nice script written by Jong to add/subtract a number on numbered items, but it is restricted to index situations.

First of all, I was not thinking clearly when I blamed ID for a cross-reference bug. It was my error. Cross-references within a document need to be updated by the author, using the Update cross-references button at the bottom of the Hyperlinks & Cross-References panel, when they're moved or their source content changes. I was thinking about the known issues with cross-references that go between ID document files, which update automatically - performance slows, and sometimes they cause crashes.

It's not clear if the right-hand numbers are supposed to replace the left-hand numbers while keeping the same sequence, or if you want to retain the left-hand numbers. You can use cross-references to create right-hand numbers from the paragraphs auto-numbers.
Insert a cross-reference to the paragraph at the end of the text, with a format that captures its autonumber, and adds any ornamentation, like the square brackets in your example.
If the rightmost number must be positioned at the right margin of the numbered paragraph, no matter how long or short it is, or if it wraps around to new lines, add a right-aligned tab stop to the paragraph style, positioned at the location where you want the number to appear, and insert a tab character in the paragraph before the cross-reference.
If the left hand numbers are supposed to go away, you can't change the paragraph style to a non-autonumbered style, because you need the numbers that the cross-references capture. So, you need to create a character style that's very small and uses Paper for the text color, to hide the autonumbers. If the smallest point size (IIRC, it's 2 points) leaves too much space at the left of the autonumber, you might be able to reduce it further by using a small value in the Horizontal Scale property of the Advanced Character Formats in the Character Style dialog box. Your example seems to show that the numbered paragraphs are indented, so the space occupied by the hidden autonumbers may not be a problem.
If the paragraphs are rearranged in sequence, you'll need to use the Update Cross-References button at the bottom of the Hyperlinks & Cross-References panel to update the affected cross-references.
I'm still not clear about numbers at the end of the paragraphs in square brackets. Are they supposed to be the same value as the auto-number at the beginning of the paragraph, except that they use a numeric display format instead of an alphabetic format?
I don't know of any code that can work with a find/replace action that can capture a paragraph's autonumber and display it at a specific location. As you've seen, cross-references need to be inserted manually. You might post a query in the InDesign scripting forum to see if someone has figured this out. If there's no complete solution, you might want to ask about a script that searches for the ends of paragraphs of the autonumbered paragraph style and opens the Insert Cross-Reference dialog box.
Using Quick Apply to execute the Insert Cross-References command, which opens the New Cross-References dialog box, might save some energy for doing the many manual cross-references insertions. Search Google for terms like "InDesign quick apply" without quotes. You can open Quick Apply with a keystroke shortcut - Cmd+Return on Mac. You can type abbreviated commands. I use "rt cr" without quotes for (Inse)rt cr(oss-reference). Opening Quick Apply repeats the last command that was entered.
Also, if you haven't tried a Google search for phrases like "InDesign numbered list at right end of paragraph," without quotes, give it a try. There are lots of links, including one to this forum article. Perhaps there's a golden nugget among them.
If you think it's important for ID to be able to place autonumbers at the ends of paragraphs, please post a formal feature request here: Wishform Eventually, some user originated feature requests are incorporated in future ID releases.

How to stop a slideshow and show another movie clip at the end?

Currently my slideshow is in a loop. At the end of last slideshow, I want to show another movie clip (End_mv) that's on another layer. How do I do that? My current scripts are below:

Font gets truncated at the end while exporting to PDF

Iam working on Crystal Reports bundled with ASP.NET 1.1
Have installed crystal reports.net 1.1 Patch also which claims to have fixed this issue.
Also have tried installing crnet11win_en_sp2 also. Have checked forcelargefonts option also with both 0 and 1.
Font seems to appear smaller which can be managed by increasing the font size.. Iam using Tahoma 12 font. There is a mild truncation at the end of the line. (.5 of the last character gets lost)
What is the solution to the problem? Should I install PDF writer in the machine. I get the same problem in my production server also

I have set the forcelargefont property to zero in the registry. Still the truncation happens at the end of the text field if horizontal alignment is "justified"
I found an observation
In PC's with XP version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236:Service pack 3) the truncation does not happen irrespective of the font size and forcelargefont property though the font size gets reduced.
In PC's with XP version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp.080413-2111:Service Pack3) the truncation happens and the font size also reduces.
Is there any issue with Service Pack3 versions.
DLL File versions registered in both the PC's are
crxf_pdf.dll --> 9.1.1.544
crpe32.dll --> 9.1.2.2148
I have updated the latest crystal report patches for .NET 1.1

Finding the end of a document using Scanner

I'm reading a file line by line, but cannot figure out how to read the end of a document without finding the number of lines in the document myself. When I have all of the lines printed out, I get an error at the end saying that no line could be found, which makes sense, since it's the end of the document. But how can I detect the end without getting an error?

Does this occur in all of your Pages documents? Are you certain that you haven't formatted the type to run flush right? (Align right I mean - sorry old typographer lingo). Look at the ruler at the top and check the Align setting.
Have you tried quitting Pages completely and the restart the iPad?
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

TextBox and TextGraphic now call applyDisplayObjectProperties() at the end of their draw() method, like all other GraphicElements. This method handles setting the visibiliy of the GraphicElement's DisplayObject, among other things.
Note: We should make it unnecessary for each GraphicElement subclass to have to call applyDisplayObjectProperties() at the end of draw(). The GraphicElement base class should ensure that this gets called at the appropriate time.
Group now calls draw() on graphic elements even if they are invisible, because otherwise applyDisplayObjectProperties() never gets called and the TextLines stay visible. Group was assuming that the only visible stuff in a GraphicElement is drawn with Graphics calls, which isn't the case.
This change is OK for now because every GraphicElement currently has its own DisplayObject, but it will need to be rethought when GraphicElements share DisplayObjects.

Firefox puts cursor at the end of a textarea, not at the beginning, how can I change this (serious usability nightmare when working with a wiki)?

When I edit my DokuWiki a lot of text is displayed in the textarea. Until Firefox 4 the cursor was always at the beginning of the textarea, which made it easy to scroll down to the part I needed to edit. Now the cursor is always at the end. This is a serious usability nightmare for me. How can I change it that the cursor is at the beginning of the textarea text?

thanks for your answer but unfortunately, this isn't it. I can toggle bidirectional text and the whole text is changed so that it aligns on the right side. But the problem I have is that the text is still aligns on the left side, editing is left-to-right, it's just the cursor that's at the end of the text.

10.8.3 does not support the Epson Printer Utility. Now no way to clean or align the heads on my workhorse R2400 printer?

The Epson Printer Utility 4 still resides in the /HD/Library/Printers/EPSON/inkjetPrinter 2/Utility/UT4 folder but crashes the iMac when run. I've also lost ability to use the Firewire connection like many others. Frustrating. Without being able to align and clean the heads on this printer, it's practically useless. I have a couple hundred wedding photos to print. What do I do now? Rhetorical question ....

Customers have moved to the Mac platform because they "believed" it's better than Windows. I moved there for this same reason more than five years ago. Prior to Mountain Lion, I agree MacOS was stable and I could download every update that "pops up as available" in "There's a new update for MacOS" and I would download it without checking the particulars of what was updated. I trust them, it's Apple. Everyone would likely chose the same option.
How many times do you, or anyone else, read all the detail about what gets changed when you download this update and mentally make a decison rather or not to download it? Most people have no clue what this update changes, like me, and are going to download it because I trust "it" because it came from Apple. I don't want to find out later, and I may not notice this problem until a long time later, that something that used to work doesn't work now. Is that my shortcoming or is it Apple's problem?
So what should customers do? After every update, check to make sure that everything works that used to work? Impracticle. I have dozens of apps on my Mac. After every update am I supposed to check that eah one still works?
I won't go back and install a previous version from the TM and rebuild my Mac. If Apple dosn't like previously intalled software, like the drivers for my Epson printer, they need to tell me upfront IN BIG BOLD LETTERS without me having to read all the fine print. They also need to tell me that because THEY CAN'T DEAL WITH MY EPSON PRINTER any longer and I shouldn't download this update and any further updates for MacOS into the future because they have coersed Epson into only allowing Apple to update the drivers for this printer. What am I supposed to do in the future? I'm stuck with this old version of MacOS forever?
You and I both know this won't work. Apple has to provide support for my Epson R2400 printer and every other device that doesn't work under 10.8.3. Otherwise they will lose in the end. Simple as that. They need to provide support for the devices that people use whatever they are, or suffer the consequences.
Apple's successes have made them too "cocky" lately. Microsoft was there at one time. Maybe Mircosoft will climb back to the mountain top and Apple won't realize it until it's too late.
Like I said in earlier posts, "Apple needs to fix this problem." I have no loyalty to anyone except myself and family.

I assume you are trying to end the clip/project with a fade to black, or something that just doesn't cut so instant.
One thing i'm thinking you can try is to Add a "Transition Clip" to the end, and try your first method. (with Detached Audio + Delete Selection. (Yellow highlight was deleted selection) Do you need something to end like this?
If you can, put screenshot up (Shift+Comm+4), if i'm not on the right idea. It seems like an easy fix, with a few ways of doing it. You can also add a blank image to end project, sub titles or Add,Cutaway fade +Opacity adjust.

Formatting numbers and align the display

How do you line up number when using NumberFormat function.
ie. The following code displays a positive and a negative
number that are both right justified:

I can not use an extra space since the width of space is

white ')' at the end of positive numbers but that does not work
either.

Unfortunately CELLPADDING and/or CELLSPACING can not be 0
since it is a very complex reporting format.
If I set them to 0 then I have to add bunch of extra blank
columns to compensate for that.
Any other suggestions?
I believe MS Word and Adobe writer have a tab or a formatting
style specifically for this purpose.
Has anyone explored writing a custom tag or a script maybe to
call adobe pdf API to utilize pdf writer's formatting capability?
I can't believe I am the first person requiring to do this.
Hopefully when we come up with an answer everyone can
benefit.

It is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.

You can choose a background for the text from Maps and Backgrounds. Just drag a background to the end of the timeline, adjust to desired duration then drag title above it.
