Alignment of Lists

I have Robohelp 10.  When creating a new list style the numbers or bullets are indented from the text in the previous paragraph even though my left margin is 0 and there are no indents set. When creating a new multilevel list, this is not the case and it aligns with the previous text.  The only way I can get it to align is to give it a -20px left margin.  Problem with that is that it then doesn't display properly in the Design editor and also means all of my images are 20px too far to the right.  Is there a way to change a list style to align to the left in the same alignment as the normal text?

Hi William
To Explain:  Regular lists look like this (notice the indent of the number from the left margin):
There are lists that can be used to view some of the information inside your general ledger, for example, account numbers and account types.
In Microsoft Excel, click on the cell where you would      like to add the lists and then click on the list that you require from the      app.
Multilevel lists look like this:
There are lists that can be used to view some of the information inside your general ledger, for example, account numbers and account types.
1.    In Microsoft Excel, click on the cell where you would like to add the lists and then click on the list that you require from the app.
To get the regular list to be against the left margin, like the multilevel list, the only way I have found is to change the css to give it a margin-left: -20px, however that then means I need to give all my images a -20px left margin as well for the images to line up with the list paragraph.  And if I do that then in the design view, I cannot see my topic properly because it is cut off on the left side.  So my question being, how can I get the regular list not to indent in on the left but to line up with the text from the previous paragraph on the left of the page?
Simple solution you may thing is for me to use the multilevel lists - problem being I have literally thousands of pages in at least 8 projects already using the regular lists. To convert to multilevel now would be a nightmare. Is there any way for me to get the regular lists not to indent?

  • Right Alignment in List Component

    Hi,
    I want to display the items in javax.microedition.lcdui.List to be right aligned.
    How can I do that?
    Thanx in advance

    with a style.
    The quick and dirty way:
    <html:text style="text-align:right"/>
    The better way would be to define the style in a css stylesheet, and use a styleClass, or just apply it to all input type="text"

  • Alignement in List Output and Printing

    Respected Members,
    i had one zreport and given line size 215 and in output everything is coming in vertical alignement.
    For eg Material Description    Vendor Name ( Header Text)
                "Bowler"                     "Krishna Steels".
    Liket this everything is coming perfect under the header text and for this purpose i had written the code with the help of offset and length.
    Now in standard no format exist for size 215 so i had made a new format ie
    X_65_215.
    Now when i am taking prinout on A4 paper it is coming very small.
    THen instead of A4 paper i am going with A3 paper.
    For that i am going to spad and with ref to my output device i am going to output attributes and ther i selected the first tray and next tab TRAY INFO i have given the value DINA3 and selected the first tray checkbox.
    SAVE
    now when i am my executing report and giving the parameter X_65_215 printout is coming on A3 paper with the increase font size
    But the problem i am facing is that alignment is disturbed on the paper .
    if Material description is small then all the fields to the right of it are moving towards right side.
    I had set the following values in X_65_215
    ePL; landscape orientation
    eL8;  8 lines per inch;
    eS130X;
    e200siz; Font size.
    now thing is that our screen is 215 and width of A3 paper in landscape format is 42cm ie  420mm
    Now to set the character per inch value so that same alignment what we are getting on the screen should also get on the paper.
    Please give me the solution.

  • How do you align a list with points?

    I have made many lists, but when the line ends in some of the
    rows and more space is needed for it it will go under, but start
    where the "square", "dot", "star", .... is and not under where the
    text above started. How do I get the second row of words to go
    under the toprow and not under the "dot"?
    This is where it is and maybe if you see it you will
    understand my question better.

    Do you realize you're never closing any of your <li>
    tags? Before you start
    a new <li>, you should close the previous one, like so
    -- </li>.
    I'm not sure if that will fix it, but it's definitly
    something that needs
    attention to it.
    Anyway - when I just created an unordered list - everything
    is flowing
    properly. I've defined a width for my <ul> tag ...

  • Number list alignment

    I'm trying to align the numbers in a numbered list to the right since I'm going up to 10 and I want the numbers lined up on the period. The numbers don't budge no matter what I select under the alignment options for the bullets and numbering. I've tried adding more space for the tab, but no go, I've tried changing the font, putting the list in a new document, setting the options as a style and doing it manually, and the numbers stay aligned to the left. I'm in CS5, does this option actually work, or am I misunderstanding the feature or doing something wrong?  It seems like right align should make the numbers move to align on the right of the space provided, but maybe I'm not understanding the purpose of the option.

    Yes, it's possible. Depending on exactly what you want, you'll need a decimal-aligned tab stop and perhaps another tab stop or two. Search Google for terms like "InDesign hanging punctuation in numbered lists," and "InDesign align numbered lists" without quotes for past discussions and tips on this topic.

  • Unordered list displayed horizontally

    Hello,
    I am really new to Dreamweaver and I tried to complete (succesfully) the video on how to build my first website.
    Following the instruction was not so complicate...
    I tried to do pretty much alone the same focusing in creating the button from an unordered list
    I did with no CSS file, I created a new one empty. I am able to remove the bullet point, align the list but I can not display the button horizontally and I do not understand why.
    This is what I did:
    create a Navigation  (id= buttons)
    create an unordered list
    create a CSS file empty
    add a selection #buttons ul where I deleted bullet point and aligned the list
    add a selection #buttons a here I have problems. I apply with 25% (4 buttons) and set the float option to the left but the list remains vertical
    What I do wrong???? It seems I am doing like in the video. Is maybe related to the CSS file? Is not correct doing that with an empty one?
    Thanks for any help

  • Can't get panes to re-size with hotkeys

    I have a small annoyance whereby sometimes my hotkeys to re-size existing panes doesn't work.  I had changed the hotkeys to move from pane to pane to be Alt-Left (arrow) and Alt-Right (arrow) key.  After looking at the default settings by running tmux's in-pane help (the hotkey shift-?) I commented those two keys out thinking that would reset tmux to its default behaviour.  It hasn't worked so far and I'm not sure where else to look aside from my .tmux.conf file.  It's based on Thayer's own config:

    set -g terminal-overrides 'xterm*:smcup@:rmcup@'
    # If you SSH into a host in a tmux window, you'll notice the window title of your terminal emulator remains to be user@localhost

    /* Tips for sidebars:
    1. Since we are working in percentages, it's best not to use side padding on the sidebars. It will be added to the width for standards compliant browsers creating an unknown actual width.
    2. Space between the side of the div and the elements within it can be created by placing a left and right margin on those elements as seen in the ".thrColLiqHdr #sidebar1 p" rule.
    3. Since Explorer calculates widths after the parent element is rendered, you may occasionally run into unexplained bugs with percentage-based columns. If you need more predictable results, you may choose to change to pixel sized columns.

    2. to avoid float drop at a supported minimum 800 x 600 resolution, elements within the mainContent div should be 300px or smaller (this includes images).
    3. in the Internet Explorer Conditional Comment below, the zoom property is used to give the mainContent "hasLayout." This avoids several IE-specific bugs.

  • Drop down menu in IE moves to the right

    I am using the SPRY in a menu for a client and in IE the drop down elements show to the right.  When I view them in any other browser the are fine.  I made all changes to the SPRY CSS in a separate CSS file.  I have commented out the additional CSS file thinking that might be the problem but the problem persists.  I will include CSS and SPRY CSS code below and a link to the page on my test site.  You can view the HTML code online.  Thanks

  • CSS problems in CS4 with multiple images on a page...

    I seem to have a ton of questions going in this forum, sorry if it's painful.
    Here's my latest issue.(DW CS4)
    I created a blank html page and linked a CSS file to it. I dropped a bunch of images into the body and wrapped them in a div with an id of "thumbnails"
    I clicked on my img tag right below the Design window and clicked the "new css rule" button in the CSS Styles window and gave my images a margin of 40 px.  I clicked "OK" and my changes took effect in the Design window, but when I previewed it in the browser (Firefox and IE) none of the CSS was taking effect, all the images were still crammed together. Same thing for the "Live View" Button, I'm not sure what happened, or why the CSS won't take effect.
    Can somebody help me?
    Thanks all,
    Aza

  • Images not showing up in CSS.

    Ok,
    I completed my site in dreamweaver cc and I moved my CSS files outside of dreamweaver (big mistake). That messed everything up. I moved the files back to the original folder and relinked everything. Most of the pages work as I originally designed them. However, my index page shows some of my css styling but no image. I looked at the code and everything is written in the code the way I intended, but my background image isn't showing up in browser preview. I'm getting all my text, navigation tool bar and no images except for a facebook link. I'm running Mac Mavericks too.
    Here is my html code.

    Hello Darry,
    what I understand is, that you have loaded up all your images to "Instagram". I quote: "Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables ...  (Instagram - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), This means you don't have access to the program itself combining it with DW.
    You can insert a link into your source code at you did above, thats it. If you want working your menu (I couldn't find an " about.html" or "Resume.html" aso.), you have to put all the links and your images into your own website.
    I hope I could describe the situation, so that you can understand what I mean.

  • Insert or delete single cells

    How do I insert or delete a single cell?
    For example, I want two columns of text. aligned horizontally, and, separated by a blank column.
    The two text lists have been created in other applications.
    So I copy list1, and paste it in cell C7.
    Then I copy list2, and paste it cell G6.
    oops. Now the lists are not aligned horizontally.
    The easiest way to align the lists is by either delete a single cell in column C or insert a single cell in column G.
    But I can't find the option to add/delete single cells.
    Does that option exist in Numbers? If so, how/where?
    Thanks,
    AJ

    AJ,
    My first thought on reading your post was: why are you using a single table for two side-by-side lists? If you had used two single-column tables you could use Delete Row or Insert Row to do what you want.
    pw and John both gave you perfectly good solutions, and I just wanted to add my two cents worth. I don't see much value in the Add/Delete Cell feature that you are looking for. The action never ends there because there's always a followup question as to what you want to do with the data to the right of and below the affected cell. So, it hasn't saved you any real time.
    Numbers has a very handy and secure method for moving a range of data. Highlight the range that you want to move. Then, Edit > Mark for Move. Now, click in the new starting location and Edit > Move.
    There you go; several ways to recover from the inevitable oops. Depending on how soon you discover your mistake, Command-Z is probably the easiest fix.

  • Nav bar "justify" problem

    http://www.ronancuanflynn.com
    Hi im trying to get my menu to stretch across the logo. I have done this using the following method but it only works in Safari from what i can tell.
    <div id="menu">
      <ul>
        <li><a href="#">Menu item 1</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Menu item 2</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Menu item 3</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Menu item 4</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Menu item 5</a></li>
      </ul>
    </div>
    ul{
        text-align:justify;
        list-style: none; list-style-image: none; margin: 0; padding: 0;
    ul:after{content:""; margin-left:100%;}
    li{display:inline;}
    a{display:inline-block;}
    My own html is the following:
    <body>
    <div class="navbar">
    <ul>
    <li><a class="home" href="index.php">HOME</a></li>
    <li> <a class="news" href="news.php">NEWS</a></li>
      <li><a class="music" href="music.php">MUSIC</a></li>
      <li><a class="shows" href="shows.php">SHOWS</a></li>
      </ul>
      </div>
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>
    And relevant CSS:
    ul{
        text-align:justify;
        list-style: none; list-style-image: none; margin: 0; padding: 0;
    ul:after{content:""; margin-left:100%;
    li{
              display:inline;
    a{display:inline-block;
    #navbar {
              margin-top: 0px;
              width: 375px;
              padding-left: 1px;
    Does anyone know how i could tweak it to work on all browsers? I would be so greatful if anyone has any ideas?
    Thanks
    AB

A: Nav bar "justify" problem

On line 57 of layout.css change this:
ul:after{content:""; margin-left:100%;}
li {display:inline}
to this:
#menu li a{
