I had about five playlists on my iPad, plus the Purchased playlist. I synced the iPad to my laptop using the USB cord. After that, I noticed that the only playlist on my iPad is Purchased. Is there a way to get the other playlists back? I checked my iTunes Library on my laptop and the playlists aren't there either.
Ringtones are a one-time only download from the store, they won't show in the Purchased links for redownloading for free - unless the phone was on iOS 8.1.1 when you bought them on it : Restore missing tones on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 8.1.1 - Apple Support
If you bought them on your old phone then did you copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases - or have you still got that phone with the tones on it so that you can do so ? If you have then you can sync them to your new phone.
If you don't have a copy of them in your iTunes library, and your phone wasn't on iOS 8.1.1 when you bought them on it, then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a redownload : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page -
I had to restore my ipod touch when doing an update and now I have lost all my games. Is there a way to get them back?
Restore from backup
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -
When I went to sync my iPhone, I accidently hit restore and it made my iPhone have all of the settings of my iPod Touch, erasing my iPhone pictures and contacts. Is there any way to get everything back?
Not to doubt you, but something sounds fishy. I can see accidentally clicking Restore, but to load your Touch's information you would have had to select your Touch's backup file after restoring, which would be hard to do by accident -- unless your iPhone and Touch have the same name?
In any case, your iPhone should have its own backup file on your computer. You can click Restore again and this time select the iPhone's backup file (there should be a device name and date associated with the pop-up window at the end of the restore process). This process will erase your iPhone, reload the OS, and then when you select your backup file then all your iPhone settings, data, sync options, etc. will be re-loaded, including your media (if you auto-sync ... if you manually manage music and video on the iPhone then you'll need to re-select the items you want loaded onto it). -
i have a ipod touch 2g and after a restore none of my apps will restore because it says that i need a newer version of the ipod software to run them they all work fine till i did the restore . is there any way to get them back ?
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

just restored my iphone to be like my ipod and I lost all my photos and videos..is there any way to get them back?
You restored your iPhone with iTunes from the backup for your iPod Touch?
If so, photos/videos that were in your iPhone's Camera Roll should have been imported by your computer before doing this. You could then transfer these photos/videos back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. -
When I plugged my iphone into the computer for the first time i lost all my music and ringtones. Is there a way to get them back without buying them again, or will I have to buy them again.
Download the free app My Contacts Backup and use it to back up the contacts on your device now (it will back them up as an attachment to an email that you send to yourself). Then restore your device to your most recent backup to see if it will recover your contacts. If not, if necessary you can open the email and tap the attachment to re-import the contacts you have now back to your device.
If you need to restore to an iCloud backup this has to be done in the initial setup process, which requires you to first erase your device. If you have any more recent data on your device now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. You will then go through the setup screens on your device, and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below). Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish. -
I have an iPod whose contents I want to transfer to a newer Ipod. At some stage when I thought I was syncing correctly I wasn't so I lost the music files from my library. Is there any way to get them back from the older iPod and put them onto the newer one again?
Have you not got a backup of your content on, for example, external drives ? If not then you could have a look to see if any of the utilities mentioned in this old post still exist and work : https://discussions.apple.com/message/11014893?messageID=11014893#11014893

I've got a iPod classic 80g I've got loads of pictures on there and I want to get them off. I've tried something where the files I get off come up as thumbnails which I can't open. Is there any way of getting them off and viewing them as a normal photo?
Oh no... NOT THE 99-PAGER!!! Anything but THAT!!!

I had to sync my phone to a different computer and it erased my ringtones I bought. Is there a way to get them back? The computer I was using no longer works at all.
The songs are still on her ipod.
They should transfer ok but make sure and use the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchase.
Connect the iPod to a computer, launch iTunes.
From the iTunes menu bar click File > Transfer Purchases From...
Make sure and backup the iTunes purchases > How to back up your media in iTunes
If this is an iPod touch read here > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -

I just lost all of my calendars on my mac. Is there any way to get them back?
I just tried to sync my calendars on my mac to my Android phone using SyncMate, and all of the calendars on my mac are gone. However, they are stil on my ipod touch, atleast the last several months worth of events are. There was a lot of important information in there. Is there any way to get them back onto my mac? They were not backed up to a disk or on Mobile Me (my fault). Any help will be much appreciated. THANKS
