All of a sudden I am unalbe to connect
I have been using a Linksys WRT160 N router wired connected to a Vista computer. I use a Verizon DSL modem, F 90-610015-06 for my internet connection. For the last two days I am unable to connect to the internet, either wirelessly or through my wired computer. When I bypass the router and connect my computer to the DSL modem I have no problem on the wired computer. I have tried to re-install the Linksys router software, but it is unable to recongnize an internet connection. Any suggewstions?

After 3 years of happily using iTunes store all of a sudden I can no longer connect. There is no error message, the attempted connection just hangs. Why?

I am new to IPod Touch and enjoying but all of a sudden (after about a month of connection) I am unable to connect to either my home wirless or hotspots outside of home. It would appear that a setting has changed but have no idea how to determine. Any suggestions ?
NO I did not and thank you very much for the advice. My problem was stated incorrectly in that while I am able to connect to the wireless from that point on I am unable to connect to the internet. I will check the article referred to.

Up to a few days ago my iphone would auto open my itunes. All of a sudden, although the phone showes up as a device it does not connect to itunes anymore. No changes made to the PC as far as I know. HELP!
Try holding down CTRL as you launch iTunes to see if it will repair the drivers.

My PC will no longer connect to I Tunes Store. I can see my library but cannot connect or sync. Tried everything including all the tips from I Tunes. Nothing works. Have installed and reinstalled over and over.
I have the same operating system and I'm having the same problem but mine started after I updated itunes. I'm interested to see the solution!!

This is kind of strange... I USE to be able to connect from my powerbook to my G5 desktop with no problems over intra or internet
Now.. I kind find the desktop, I can connect via ssh, I can FTP i can see what program is running.. everything I can send message,, I updated the client software.. I am baffled...

You might want to consider changing the name of your wireless network on the AirPort Extreme and then test to see if all devices can connect that way.
If you decide to do this, leave any apostrophes, dollar signs, exclamation marks, etc out of the wireless network name. Use only letters and numbers in the wireless network name. -
All of a sudden, my Mac won't connect to my smtp outgoing mail server...
It looks for a connection, but never connects. No issues until this week, it's been working fine for 14 months.
Settings verifed with the ISP (Cox) but beyond that they were of no help. Mail sits in Outbox and won't send.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

WiFi Issues - Stops working all of a sudden - Ipod 4 32G
I wanted the community to be aware of an issue that hit me all of a sudden - my wifi connection on my iPod cease to stop working.
I have a iPod Touch 4, 32G, Windows 7 w/Netgear DSL modem & Router
Today, I was surfing the net with my iPod when all of a sudden I was disconnected. I tried to connect to back but was having problems. As time went by and nothing was happening, I was getting a little worried. My Wii, internet, my wife's iPhone and my 1st &2nd Gen iPods touch's were all connected and working normally but mine was not. I did absolutely everything possible. I went to the user forums and surfed all over to find a solution. In my research, I found that I wasn't the only one that was having this same issue. The only problem was there was no consensus on a solution.
After resetting, deleting, downloading and just about everything else you could do with an iPod, I decided to see if it was my router. I went into my router and set up a "guest" account and all of a sudden my iPod 4 could connect. I then reset my router and it is now working perfectly.
A lot of pain and trouble but the solution was just to reset the modem (in my case, I unplugged it).
This seems to be a strange issue with the iPod 4 as I am not the only one who has been hit with this issue. It has not affected any of my other apple devices except my iPod 4. There is something in how the iPod 4 and the router communicate and the easiest way is to restart your router (all other options did nothing for me)
Hopefully this will help someone out and prevent them from going through all the pain I did.Hi, this seems like a very annoying problem. Unfortunatly, the community will need some more information to help assist you with this problem. Such as:
1) What programs? Are they resource intensive? I mean, if you are trying to run 4 video games or programs like photoshop and 3dsmax forget about it. And if you have 4 programs ALL attempting to write large amounts to the disk it will yeild a similar result. Usually large amounts of I/O are murder on PC's (by which I mean personal computers...), and of course if you don't have enough RAM its a moot point.
2) What are your specs? How much RAM do you have? What is the size of your virtual memory (page file)?
3) Have you cleared the various caches mac's have? I can't direct you to any good third party programs for mac's but I am sure there is a simple cache cleaner within your system. -
I have files that have been on my computer for over a year and I have used them several times and all of a sudden they wont open. I received an error message saying they are improperly downloaded or came as an email attachement which is not the case. Please advise
They seem to be word files - they will open if I choose "open with" microsoft word, but if I double click they don't open they are appearing as PDF on my screen. I even opened one and then tried to "save as" making sure I chose .doc and they still appear as PDF
I just created a new document response.doc in word and when I saved to my desktop it appears as a PDF file and I absolutely did not create a PDF or save as PDF it was a simple word
doc.
The message says "Adobe reader could not open response.doc because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example attached in an email and not properly decoded)
The reader version is I believe the most current, I always update when prompted. OS is Windows 8 -

If you are asking about a photo book in iPhoto, what was the last you did in iPhoto, before the crash happened? Did you add a page with a map?
Then you may have a problem with a bug, where adding a route to a map may render the book unreadable. In that case the best option is to restore the iPhoto library from the last backup you made, before you added the map to the book.
It is not possible to open the book and to delete the unreadable page. You can only delete the book and start over, if this bug is the reason for the crashes. See for example this link: Getting rid of problem photo book -
I have been using Elements 8 ever since it came out, and all of a sudden the cropping tool has changed: I can no longer crop horizontally or vertically, only diagonally. The up/down/side arrows have disappeared! Please help if you can, I'm no longer able to make my photos look their best. Thank you in advance.
Quit the editor (Quit PSE on a mac). Then restart it while holding down ctrl+alt+shift (command+option+shift). Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

My Time capsule did a backup yesterday in the morning without any problem. All of a sudden, it disconnected from the wireles system last night and the little indicator lamp turned off. It still makes a noice, as if a disc was turning inside. The Time Capsule was bought last year in June. Any suggestiom what to do? What happens if I press the little buttom (reset?), will I loose af my backup?
Do a reset.. power off the TC..
Hold in reset and power on.. keep holding in reset until it flashes rapidly.. if it turns on at all.
If you bought it in June.. take it back today.. it is broken.. at a guess.
Some Gen4 are failing this way.. get Apple to replace it.. even if it is a few days out of warranty it won't be much.
