All ports on my power mac G5 have gone out.

A few months ago all the ports on my power mac g5 went out, usb ports, ethernet, firewire, headphones, everything is out except for the power button. What can I do?

Hi, one thing to try...
reset FW bus, same goes for USB reset...
Reset the Firewire bus
If your Firewire or USB isn't recognizing any device. A solution which has worked for some whose hard drive became invisible in 10.4 was simply to follow these four steps to reset the Firewire/USB bus:
1. Shut the machine down.
2. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any firewire/USB drive or devices.
3. leave it for 10 minutes.
4. Connect back up and reboot.

Click Choose Library.

And it would be in your email's Sent folder (not Adobe Send's). If you look at https://cloud.acrobat.com/sentfiles, does it show that the file has been Viewed? If the Views column shows a 0, then nobody has yet viewed it. If you're concerned, you can select the file by clicking the check box, then select Unshare. Contacts have gone out of Sync

My contacts in my phone have gone out of sync with the Headings.
E.g Names beginning with S are now spread over P, Q, R, S, T etc not in 'S'?
Any ideas?
Also my voicemail just cuts off after saying "I am forwarding you.......beep..off"

You may have changed the way your iPhone sorts and displays your contacts. Check in Settings > Phone and see if your Sort Order and Display Order are the same or opposites.

If you want to use the "newest updated whatever available." then you would have to buy the newest hardware that supports that. iPad 2 is not the newest hardware available and it can't/does not support siri.

How many internal power ports does a 2009 Mac Pro Have?

I want to add a new video card (Sapphire 7850 or the EVGA Nvdia GT680) and a USB 3.0 PCIe card. But all the cards I find requre separate power, especially the graphics cards with require two. So is there a third power port for the USB card available. Or can I get some sort of splitter?

No, I just plan to keep one video card in the machine. Must of the PCI cards I have seen have a 4-pin connector on the board. My guess is that it is not for the controller card, per se, but to pass power on to unpowered attachments, such as a portable drive (e.g. WD My Passports,)

How do i identify all RAW photos in my Mac and have them removed - taking too much space.

I have a Macbook Air and I keep getting message that I'm out of space. i have emptied the trash but no difference. I believe it is the photos - I have impoted quite a bit of RAW photo files - how do i identify them and then delete them. I dont want to have 2 formats of the same photos.

The process is simple - but tedious.
Select the photos and export them, saving them as Jpegs.
Trash the Library. Make a new one. Import the Jpegs.
Alternatively: move the Library:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
If you're intent on trashing the Raws, you have a couple of bigger questions to consider: why are you shooting raw if you're going to trash them? Why are you using iPhoto, which is designed for a non-destructive workflow, if you want a destrucutve one?

I am replacing a bad SATA drive- have any of you used a SATA drive and had a good experience with it?

I've been using WD SATA drives for over 3 years in my G4's, using Firmtek Seritek PCI controllers.
No issues at all.
I have several WD6400AAKS drives, which are very fast and very reasonably priced.
The WD Black drives are excellent as well, with the 2 I have providing reliable eSATA transfer for a couple years.

How do I determine which model of G5 Power Mac I have ?

I thought there was a way / site, that based on the serial number would
determine when computer was originally manufactured ?
Every search I initiate somehow leads me the Apple store. Surprise.
Can anyone provide this means or webiste, etc.

That tells me that it is a PowerMac7, 3. But there seem to be several varieties
of that model. ( early 2004, late 2004, early 2005 ) I was thinking there was some
way via the serial # to determine which of those.

Do you still see your photos, when you launch iPhoto and not Photos?
Where did you keep your iPhoto Library? In your Pictures folder, as is the default? Or on an external drive?
Look in the folder with your iPhoto Library.
You should be seeing two libraries, if you already let Photos upgrade the iPhoto Library:
Your iPhoto Library, now called .migratedphotolibrary
and the new Photos library:
are the libraries there? and how large are they?

Power Mac G4 MDD: Swapping out motherboards

I have two G4 MDD's. An FW800 dual 1.25 GHz which just blew the power supply(the 23 pin connector fails to get 25V). And I just bought a used MDD 2003 which is, so far, running fine.
I have a reasonable amount of electronics know-how. And I'm learning to do my own PowerMac 'tech' work since I got the FW800 two years ago.
So, how do I swap the dual 1.25 board for the 2003 single 1.25 board without 'winging it' into disaster.
I will appreciate instructions.

I've done many power supply swaps and removals.
It's easier to just swap the power supply.
However, if you've gotten this far, why not stick with the original cpu and logic board.
On the other hand the other logic board may work as it has a 167 bus as well.
I personally have swapped dual 867 cpus into fw800 motherboards from 1ghz units as they are both 133 bus. Also used 1.25ghz logic board to replace a dual 1ghz cpu logic board as they are 167 bus each.
Still say if you got this far just replace with the originals.

I have a MacBook Air and for what ever reason, the print settings have gone out of whack. I am not sure how to set to print a normal A4 paper size or a standard envelope. These settings were working O.K., but not now

Now, each time I wish to print either, I have to rest paper size and or Envelope vertical or horizontal. Can anyone assist with how to reset in order to print correctly without the need to rest each time please?

Log in to the Developer forum. You will find instructions on how to install the lastest beta. Your problem is the beta you have installed has expired. All of them did on October 5; you will find hundreds of threads discussing this. If you have a beta it is assumed that you will continue as a beta tester, so a simple update using iTunes will not work.
If you no longer want to be a beta tester install the GM 7.0.2 by restoring from iTunes using DFU mode.
