ALL_TAB_MODIFICATIONS.TIMESTAMP & Data in the table

Question

I have Orace 10g
I have a table which I want to see when it was last DMLed (insert, update or delete), I found a data dictionary view named all_tab_modifications, column timestamp supposed to have the last run statistics in my case it is 23-april-2010 and the columns all_tab_modifications.inserts, all_tab_modifications.updates, all_tab_modifications.deletes have some numbers which is the number of rows DMLed since 23-april-2010
My custom table have a last modified date (which is defaulted to sysdate while DML) when I select the max (last_modified_date) it is 12-feb-2009
This does not make sense that the all_tab_modifications says that there are records dmled since 23-april-2010 and the max (last_modified_date) is 12-feb-09
